If MCR was a message, then MCR is dead. I'm not talking about the marriage. It's pretty well known that Gerard is a desperate, dependent person who would have married Leona Helmsley if she'd been within a few feet of him when he decided he was too scared to end the tour and go home without a significant other to occupy his time. No, this is about the tour, taking this band on tour with them because of this.
All other speculation aside about the drinking and the cocaine (and the fact that people have seen at least Jimmy Urine buying coke off fans at concerts recently, or that's what people are saying anyway... yes, how is that going to affect this tour again?) all of that aside, this is just about the message, the things that MCR always stood for. And with them basically denying all of that now in their choice of an opening act, then it looks to me like MCR is dead.

DAMN! This makes me very sad. I read about one of the band members being a hardcore racist on another blog. I know all of the band memebers are white and they use the N word several times- and Gerard says this is his favorite band? I'm offended. I guess I agree with you MCR is only alive in name only, they are just a commodity now- not standing for anything. Their message is officially dead.

I think that you're taking this far too literally. Not every band has the same goals and ideals as MCR, and I think you're assuming a lot by saying that MSI's lyrics are an absolute indication that the members of the band are horrible people who are going to corrupt or dilute MCR's message. Might it be that MSI are trying to shock people who aren't familiar with their work? That’s one way to grab peoples’ attention and make them think about whatever topic a song is addressing. I admit that I may be giving MSI too much credit in this – I know next to nothing about them as a band. They might want to do nothing more than piss people off.
I don’t quite understand the connection you’re making here. Taking MSI on tour automatically means that the message and meaning behind all of MCR’s songs is instantly negated? That’s a bit far-fetched. But as you’re obviously so keen to lay the blame for the downfall of MCR around, let’s not give Gerard all the credit. Frank has said that he’s a fan of the band Gallows:

I agree with you smoke&venom, and no matter how many times you MSI fans try to defend that piece of shit, mediocre of a garbage band, I do NOT find it funny to see a band writing or singing about child porn or racism, There is NOTHING funny about that. I do not condone violence myself, but I do hope that MSI will get bottled. There IS going to be parents and young kids at those shows since 70 or 80% of My Chem fans are in their teens or preteens.
