Good riddance

MRC broke up. Good riddance to bad garbage.

But I really doubt that we'll stop hearing their self involved, sexist and racist tweets. Usually when someone in the spotlight says some sexist or racist thing, they get called out and they eventually apologize. Sometimes they are sincere and sometimes they're just catering to the masses to get the media and fans to stop harping on them. When you think of people like Mel Gibson and Michael Richards, they apologized. But do you really believe them? I don't think those people actually learned a lesson.

Did MCR learn a lesson? Definitely not. Frank Iero using the N word in Twitter, then telling people they were "imbeciles" when they told him that wasn't cool. Gerard saying vile and violent things to and about women on his Twitter and then getting his fan sheep to harass those women, with gender based slurs. And the gender based slurs he used to degrade women on Twitter and on stage. Frank Iero's abortion jokes. Ray Toro saying that women shouldn't be allowed to use public toilets. The list goes on.

These comments were never addressed. MCR breaks up and leaves this as their legacy to those of us who know better. They were never forced to apologize, because, I think, they were never famous enough in the media to garner a huge outcry.

And don't forget... MSI is still out there, spewing racist lyrics (and telling people it's okay for white people to do that, because it's "satire"), homophobic lyrics, and violently misogynistic lyrics, making jokes about sexual abuse of children... The two bands are exactly the same.

Yes, I am glad that MCR broke up, but they never apologized for their racism and misogyny. And they are still, sadly, the same exact racist, sexist people they were before they broke up.

BUT... at least they did break up! So go out and celebrate.  :-)

With that out of the way I want to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous spring season, or whatever season it is where you live.

After all that has happened, I can't help but feel that maybe what Mikey has been up to was just the final nail in the coffin.

I think Gerard's ego is probably out of control. I can see him thinking he can have a ~solo~ career. LMAO.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Mikey's extracurricular activities had anything to do with MCR breaking up. Bands survive affairs, divorces and sex scandals every day. I think Gerard's letter explained that it was just time to end the band and move on to other things. They always said that they'd know when it was time.

I think most people knew it was over when MCR released Conventional Weapons instead of a new album last fall. They had all of last spring and summer free. They had more than enough time to make a new album. The romance was gone. Instead of faking it they ended it on their terms.

Frank and James have already moved on with DeathSpells. They're touring with MSI.

Anonymous said...

Well isn't that the best way to end anything, on your own terms?

Anonymous said...

3:22 no doubt, with much assistance from his wife and friends.

I agree it had a lot to do with Mikey. I really think that Lindsey wasn't going to abide Mikey's company anymore because she's friends with Alicia.

This is going to make family dinners very difficult for them, isn't it.

Too bad they didn't do what they always said. It was time before they put out the commercial flop that was Danger Days.

I used to love this band, but Danger Days was so fucking bad. Not so much the record itself, but the concept. They made themselves seem so damn foolish with their recycled from a bad YA Dystopian novel bullshit. Teeny little dweebs running around with neon colored plastic water pistols. It was a total embarrassment.

Hi there. I got just wondering why its this type
of big thing nowadays to possess a ridiculous amount of ram
within a computer? People tell me that this more Ram you might have in
your computer the faster your computer is going to be.
I always thought that it was the processor that controls the speed of
the computer rather than the Ram... I had fashioned 512MB of Ram within my laptop and that i have now changed it to 2Gigs of Ram and I've seen no difference in performance what so ever.. Could somebody please explain to me what does Ram does exactly?. Thanks ahead of time.

Gerard acts like he's in the middle of a manic episode. Right now he's all about starting over and throwing out all the old bits of his life. I went through that with my bipolar husband many, many times. Nothing good will come from this.

Anonymous said...

Good luck to him.

To me it looks like he's a man who's relieved and happy with the decisions he's made recently. Big decisions like ending MCR. I don't think he's thrown out all the old bits of his life. If anything he's returned to some of those old things that made him happy. He's rediscovered old interests and found new ones. That's a good thing.

These guys are in their mid-thirties and they found success by being an emo boy band that capitalized on their looks. Gerard and Mikey don't have the best genes when it comes to aging, so their days of looking "hot" are numbered. They better not wait too long to reunite, or it will be a waste of time.

Of course they could always do a reunion tour and play the state fair circuit.

Doctors are "pulling ball-bearings out of people' in the ER, suggesting bombs were designed to propel shrapnel. on.cnn.com/139ikHp

Three killed – including 8-year-old boy – in bomb blasts near finish line of Boston Marathon, officials say. Area hospitals say at least 132 are injured, including eight children.

[Update, 8:55 p.m. ET] A Saudi national with a leg wound was under guard at a Boston hospital in connection with the bombings at the Boston Marathon, but investigators cannot say he is involved at this time and he is not in custody, a law enforcement official said Monday evening.

[Update, 8:54 p.m. ET] Three people were killed in the bombings, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis told reporters Monday night, raising the toll by one.

[Update, 8:52 p.m. ET] The FBI is taking the lead in the investigation, Rick DesLauriers, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Boston field office, told reporters.

[Update, 8:44 p.m.ET ] The Boston Celtics home game against the Indiana Pacers, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was canceled, the NBA announced. With the regular season almost at its end, the contest will not be made up.

[Update, 8:36 p.m. ET] Investigators have warned law enforcement officers to be on the lookout for a "darker-skinned or black male" with a possible foreign accent in connection with Monday's bombings at the Boston Marathon, according to a law enforcement advisory obtained by CNN.

The man was seen with a black backpack and sweatshirt and was trying to get into a restricted area about five minutes before the first explosion, the lookout notice states.

[Update, 8:35 p.m.] Hospital workers have treated 141 people after the Boston Marathon bombings, officials at those facilities said Monday night. Two people died in the terror attack, including an 8-year-old boy, a state law enforcement source said.

I wanted to say the same.

To fight their anxiety and to be able to keep on living without having to fear death and assault everytime they're leaving the house, they need to quickly find a scapegoat to blame for all of this and to be able to identify as the enemy.
Fear makes ignorant.
And then there are the ones with an agenda who use this fear to their own advantage.

On a lighter note;

I was downtown the other day at the central station with an international press store and I had to take a look into that recent Kerrang issue. You know, the one with the huge MCR hommage, "about four pages long".

I was really interested in knowing which credible rock band/music artists would dare to admit that they liked their music and would miss them.
NOBODY, HAHAHAHAHA!

The only ones who admit to having liked them is Mark Whatshisface of Blink 90210 (and as far as I remember, he only talks about how 'nice' they were, nothing about the music) and some dude in a band I've never heard of.
The rest is two Kerrang editors and about ten Kerrang readers.
Nobody of importance gives a fuck about their break-up. Embarrassing, right? Right!

The suspects were light skinned and they were Muslim. They were brothers. Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. They were from Russia.

The family was granted US asylum in the early 2000's. The younger brother became a US citizen on September 11, 2012. The older brother never obtained US citizenship.

The older brother was known to the FBI. He had been reported to the US gov't as being an extremist by the Russian govt last year.

They murdered 4 people, injured over 170, bombed the Boston marathon and terrorized the town of Watertown Mass.

"I was just waiting for bullets to just start flying everywhere," Deanna Finn said.

Terrifying.

The brothers had built an arsenal of pipe bombs, grenades and improvised explosive devices and used some of the weapons in trying to make their getaway, said Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Md., a member of the House Intelligence Committee.

Watertown resident Kayla Dipaolo said she was woken up overnight by gunfire and a large explosion that sounded "like it was right next to my head ... and shook the whole house."

"When he came back he starting posting more radical jihadist YouTube videos and started becoming more of a fundamentalist Muslim," Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told ABC News Friday.
"My concern is that he may have gone over there to visit his father and he received training and then became radicalized and then came back. Something happened in that period of time. He was not like that before," McCaul said.
The FBI, meanwhile, also looked into Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2011.
the bureau said it investigated Tsarnaev on behalf of a foreign government, though it did not reveal which one.
"The request stated that it was based on information that he was a follower of radical Islam and a strong believer, and that he had changed drastically since 2010 as he prepared to leave the United States for travel to the country's region to join unspecified underground groups," the FBI statement said.
The bureau said that in response to the request it combed through its databases and interviewed the man and members of his family, but did not find any evidence he was tied to terror groups.
"

They have their evidence now when it's too late for the four people that were murdered and the dozens maimed and injured.

Carlos Sadovi and Alicia Fabbre, Chicago Tribune
April 21, 2013

An 18-year-old Aurora man with ties to a foiled attempt last year to bomb a downtown Chicago bar was arrested as he was about to travel to the Middle East to join al-Qaida, federal officials said Saturday.

Abdella Ahmad Tounisi, a U.S. citizen, was held without bail Saturday after he was arrested Friday night at O'Hare International Airport, where he was about to board an airplane to Istanbul, FBI officials said in a press release.

The arrest had nothing to do with the Boston Marathon bombing, officials said. Tounisi had hoped to eventually join a jihadist militant group operating inside Syria called Jabhat al-Nusrah, according to a federal complaint unsealed Saturday and filed in U.S. District Court.

Anonymous said...

At Tounisi's home in Aurora, family members declared his innocence, saying Tounisi was set up by federal agents.

"I know my kid is innocent," said his father, Ahmad Tounisi. "I know a lot of Muslim kids are getting set up."
Ahmad Tounisi said he last saw his son Thursday and he thought his son was going to a mosque for three days. He added that his son didn't have money to buy an airline ticket to Turkey.

Welp, I'm gonna disagree with that, because of the way society treats things like this. If terrorists are white, they are deemed "mentally ill" and white people go along as usual. No one racially profiles them, spews random hate at every white person, threatens the lives of random white people or outright kills them.

Take a look at Twitter sometime and see the THOUSANDS of people threatening Arabs and other POC because of the actions of a few. And those same stupid people *still* think that these kids were "dirty desert people" and "sand n*****."

White people do terrorist crimes all the time, and other white people are not held accountable. If a POC does a crime, many white people turn violent against ALL POC in retaliation.

Who are these white people who do terrorist crimes all the time? When and where was the terrorist attack and what other people haven't been held accountable?

You can't be talking about Timothy James McVeigh the Oklahoma city bomber. He was a terrorist and he was called a terrorist. He was tried, convicted and executed for his act of terrorism.

You can't be talking about Richard Jewell either. He was a white man who was falsely accused for the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing. He was presumed guilty and tried by the media.

Eric Robert Rudolph, also a white man, was eventually caught, tried and convicted of the Olympic City bombing. He was not deemed mentally ill. He was deemed and is known as a terrorist. He is currently serving 4 consecutive life sentences.

Richard Jewell was a hero whose life was ruined by false accusations, shoddy investigative work and the media's rush to judgement.

If you're talking about the Newtown shooter Adam Lanza was mentally ill. He had Aspergers syndrome and had been under psychiatric care.

James Holmes, the Aurora theater shooter, was also mentally ill and under psychiatric care. Court documents show a psychiatrist warned ahead of time that James Holmes was mentally disturbed and dangerous.

There is a difference between criminal acts and acts of terrorism.

"Any time bombs are used to target innocent civilians it is an act of terror." Barrack Obama

When and where did this happen in US in this century? The last race riots in retaliation for anything to do with race in the US that I remember were in Los Angeles in 1992. The Rodney King Riots.

The 1992 Los Angeles riots, also known as the Rodney King Riots, the South Central Riots, the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Disturbance, and the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Unrest, were a race riot and subsequent looting and civil disturbance that occurred in Los Angeles, California in 1992 following a police brutality incident. It was among the largest riots in US history.
The riot was first started in South Los Angeles and then eventually spread out into other areas over a six-day period within the Los Angeles metropolitan area in California during April in 1992. The riots started on April 29 after a trial jury acquitted four Los Angeles Police Department officers of assault and use of excessive force. The mostly white officers were videotaped beating an African-American named Rodney King following a high-speed police pursuit. Thousands of people throughout the metropolitan area in Los Angeles rioted over six days following the announcement of the verdict.[1]

Widespread looting, assault, arson and murder occurred during the riots, and estimates of property damages topped one billion dollars. The rioting ended after soldiers from the California Army National Guard, along with U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton were called in to stop the rioting after the local police could not handle the situation. In total, 53 people were killed during the riots and over two thousand people were injured

I don't blame the community of Los Angeles for being upset with the verdict but their reaction, the riots, looting and murders that followed the verdict were just as criminal as the beating of Rodney King.

They were criminal acts not acts of terrorism.

By May 16, 1992, 51 men and 7 women were dead because of the riots and the Los Angeles Coroner's Office listed 50 of the 58 people dead as homicide victims.[93] Forty-one of the victims were shot to death, seven were killed in traffic accidents, four died in fires, three were beaten to death, two were fatally stabbed, and one died of a heart attack.[93]

Nearly a third of the rioters arrested were released because police officers were unable to identify individuals in the sheer volume of the crowd.

Such a horrifying week in American history. Made worse by the fact that the criminals were never brought to justice. Was even one person charged in any of those 50 murders? Most of the victims were Korean and Latino Americans.

I don't fault those police and fire dept for not stopping in the middle of that. Those police were shitting their pants. The national guard should have been called in sooner before so many people were killed and so much damage was done. They should've been called in as soon as the verdict was read. Tensions were running high before the verdict. Lessons were learned. It's tragic that the cost of those lessons was so many lives and so much destruction. That wasn't civil unrest. That was indiscriminate violent thug mentality.

And this is exactly the problem. When white people commit mass murders, they are "mentally ill." When people of color do it, they're "terrorists."

So that's an extremely racist reaction to mass murders and you just proved my entire point.

And this is exactly the problem. When white people commit mass murders, they are "mentally ill." When people of color do it, they're "terrorists."

When terrorists commit acts of terror they are called terrorists irregardless of their skin color.

Ted Kaczynski, Timothy Mcveigh, Eric Rudolph and John Walker Lindh are some known and convicted white terrorists. They are called terrorists because of their terrorists crimes. They are not called mentally ill mass murderers. All of them expressed radical extremists views prior to their acts of terrorism.

All of them are convicted white terrorists. That's a fact and that fact disproves your point When white people commit mass murders, they are "mentally ill.

James Holmes is called mentally ill because he is mentally ill. He was under psychiatric care prior to his shooting spree in Aurora. His psychiatrist warned campus authorities that he was mentally disturbed and homicidal.
He is a mentally deranged mass murderer who was inspired by The Joker.

Many POC have committed mass murder and they aren't called terrorists because their actions don't warrant that classification. Colin Ferguson is one name that comes to mind. He is a mass murderer. He is mentally disturbed. He is not a terrorist.

The Boston bombers are terrorists just like Timothy McVeigh.

The CIA pushed to have one of the suspected Boston Marathon bombers placed on a U.S. counterterrorism watch list more than a year before the attacks, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The disclosure of the CIA’s involvement suggests that the U.S. government may have had more reason than it has previously acknowledged to scrutinize Tsarnaev in the months leading up to the bombings in Boston. It also raises questions why U.S. authorities didn’t flag his return to the United States and investigate him further after a seven-month trip he took to Russia last year.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Mr. Kerry’s comments don’t reflect any new information gleaned by authorities probing a Chechnya trip made last year by the elder brother.
“In a situation like this, we ought to let the investigators do their work and not jump to conclusions, as the president said on Friday,” Mr. Carney said.

Mr. Kerry weighed in on the emerging narrative behind the Boston Marathon bombers during a visit Wednesday to Brussels, where he told reporters, “We just had a young person who went to Russia, Chechnya, who blew people up in Boston.”

“He didn’t say where he went, but he learned something where he went, and he came back with a willingness to kill people,” Mr. Kerry said.

At the State Department on Wednesday afternoon, Patrick Ventrell, the department’s acting deputy spokesman, sought to clarify the remarks, saying his boss “was simply expressing broad concern about radicalism and not necessarily offering any more specific information about this case.”
