Oh my God, I had a whole post typed out and Blogger crashed and deleted it without saving a draft.
I forgot most of what I wrote so I have to start over.
I notice some of you talking about Laura Slessinger and her use of the N- Bomb recently. I saw some of the fall-out from that in the news too. And it made me think about what gets said to a lot of you sometimes.
We see a lot of MSICR fans saying that MSICR have the first amendment right to use whatever language they want and we have no right to stop them. I think once even Lyn-Z made a comment about "Thank God for the first amendment" when talking about her band's lyrics.
But I have always thought, no one is TRYING to take away their right to use hate speech. We have the right to our opinion too when it comes to lyrics that are racist, homophobic and misogynist.
This article about Laura Slessinger and the first amendment said a lot of what needs to be said here too.
These are the parts I wanted to quote.

MSICR are allowed to use hate speech in their lyrics. MSICR fans are allowed to listen to those lyrics and interpret them any way they want. They can think they are about something else, if they want to. You interpret things however it makes sense to you.
YOU are also allowed to hate those lyrics, take them at face value (which the bands themselves always say), and to boycott them if you want..... forever if that's what you want.
There will always be arguments as long as there are lyrics, tweets, concerts and interviews with that kind of speech. There will be disagreements no matter what. But disagreeing is NOT the same thing as squashing someone else's rights.

So, it's crazy fruit-Loop Nathy here, a friend of mine saw it and sent me the link. I don't know if i should be laughing because you actually went to stalk me but anyway, i'd like to make some points here. Independent if I'm a 'stalker' like you're labelling me or not, yes, I applied for a tourist visa so I can go to United States visit friends and basically be a tourist.
I had been on United States twice, my visa expired in between this time. I don't know if any of you are from South America - and I assume that you're not -but it's pretty hard to get a visa here: it's extremely bureucratic and tiring and even if you fill the requirements, there are a few "off-records" things can get you denied. Being a woman, latin, around 20-45 years old and having no properties makes things even hard.
When he first tweeted about France's islamophobia, i partially agreed with him - i think the problem is France's government, not the french people or their culture, food or language and I told him that I believe it's a reflex of what happened after 9/11 and i said that partially, it's America's fault. Yeah, i told him about my visa thing and i told him that it's easier for american citizens to get visas to latin american countries (except Venezuela) and the opposite for latin american citizens to get it; i explained about the "woman/latin/age/job status" to him and he told me to get a job. It really made me mad - "having a job" isn't a requirement, what immigration agents ask and want from you is that you prove that you can sustain yourself while you're travelling, they want you to show them that you have no desire to stay. That's when an irish friend of mine got into the conversation and got a reply where he mentions the IRA.
Did he need to do that? Did he need to generalize, didn't he learn at school or in any other place that many families were destroyed by the IRA?

I know that MCR is one of the few bands whose fans come out in force to attack people on other forums who talk shit about the band. They go out of their way to find negative things about the band, whereas other fans tend to ignore people who don't like their idols.
To me, this is a unique brand of crazy.
I also think that MCR draws more unstable fans than the norm. That much is obvious when you go to one of their shows or visit one of their fansites.

I love what JGL is doing with his hitRECord project. I think it's great that he involves all kinds of people and allows them to participate in the creative process. He seems to be having a blast with it.

I'm one of the older people who comes here and I cringe every time somebody uses the term 40 year old housewife.
I'm far from being a housewife and I've been going to concerts for longer than some of you were born. That doesn't make my opinion any more or less valid than anybody else's. Same goes for the younger posters here.

It seems like they put so much work and effort into it. Gerard seems like he's always so proud of his work and he just wants to create something good that will touch people. Maybe he made some mistakes and maybe he got mixed in with the wrong people, but he hasn't been promoting MSI anymore and it looks like maybe Lindsey is even done with them now she's into her art. Maybe Gerard made a positive change in her life and now that she's a mother she realizes MSI was no good. People can change.

I have been married 25 yrs and i never thought of myself as a "housewife" I'm also in my 40's and i work and that word never popped up in describing or thinking about myself that way. I'm a mother and i have a husband but i do have a life outside my "house." I think that the term "housewife" went out with June Cleaver.

You might not be one of the Mayo people, but allow me to remind you that they were total freaks, and a lot of the problems they went out of their way to cause *me* were because of my feelings on their beloved band.
It's out of perspective. No performer--no one who's not in your life--should mean so much to you that you're willing to hurt other people just because they don't like your favorite.
And it's not just Mayo's where that happened. If I'm skimming here correctly, it seems as if everywhere MCR uberfans gather, they're acting the same way.
