MRC broke up. Good riddance to bad garbage.
But I really doubt that we'll stop hearing their self involved, sexist and racist tweets. Usually when someone in the spotlight says some sexist or racist thing, they get called out and they eventually apologize. Sometimes they are sincere and sometimes they're just catering to the masses to get the media and fans to stop harping on them. When you think of people like Mel Gibson and Michael Richards, they apologized. But do you really believe them? I don't think those people actually learned a lesson.
Did MCR learn a lesson? Definitely not. Frank Iero using the N word in Twitter, then telling people they were "imbeciles" when they told him that wasn't cool. Gerard saying vile and violent things to and about women on his Twitter and then getting his fan sheep to harass those women, with gender based slurs. And the gender based slurs he used to degrade women on Twitter and on stage. Frank Iero's abortion jokes. Ray Toro saying that women shouldn't be allowed to use public toilets. The list goes on.
These comments were never addressed. MCR breaks up and leaves this as their legacy to those of us who know better. They were never forced to apologize, because, I think, they were never famous enough in the media to garner a huge outcry.
And don't forget... MSI is still out there, spewing racist lyrics (and telling people it's okay for white people to do that, because it's "satire"), homophobic lyrics, and violently misogynistic lyrics, making jokes about sexual abuse of children... The two bands are exactly the same.
Yes, I am glad that MCR broke up, but they never apologized for their racism and misogyny. And they are still, sadly, the same exact racist, sexist people they were before they broke up.
BUT... at least they did break up! So go out and celebrate. :-)
With that out of the way I want to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous spring season, or whatever season it is where you live.

Me too, mostly men. Why does it seem 99% of the bad things in this world are done by men. I'm getting fed up of turning on the news and every day hearing about all the raping going on in India, all the asian men grooming children in the uk, all the peadophilia and male violence.

Would anyone even ask that question if the bus driver had been a woman? I don't think so. In that case it would have been a black female civil servant defending herself against another female who was calling her a stupid n**ger bitch and who assaulted her.
How about if the driver had been a woman and the obnoxious passenger had been a man?
My take is the loud mouthed obnoxious b*tch got what she deserved. She didn't know when to shut up. She didn't know when to stop. She was in his face and kept pushing him until he couldn't take anymore. She verbally insulted and physically assaulted the bus driver. He had enough. He acted in self defense. Either sex and any race has the right to fight back and defend themselves when they are under attack and feel threatened. That's what the bus driver did. If I'm on the jury he's getting a pay raise and her sorry ass is going to jail and paying for his court cost.
Yes a man punched a woman.
Yes it was self defense.
Self defense should be gender neutral.
A slap, kick, push, punch or whatever. If it's self defense it shouldn't matter whether a woman or man is the one delivering or receiving the blow. That's equality.

So George Zimmerman walks free. He'd have gotten more punishment for killing a dog. This is how little black kids are worth in America.
How did that happen Kapunua? I'm stunned.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grj0ffXzTFA
:)
Stand. Your. Ground.
Hispanic Americans have the right to defend themselves too. George Zimmerman broke no law. He followed someone who he thought was a threat to his family and his community. That's a part of being actively involved in a neighborhood crime watch. He followed that person to make sure that they didn't break any laws. He had the right to do so.
He defended himself when he was being beaten and his head was being bashed into concrete. The color and age of the basher was and should be irrelevant. It was self defense.
Trayvon Martin had one injury. A fatal gunshot fired in self defense. Martin was not beaten. He was not bloodied and bruised. George Zimmerman was. He was being brutally attacked by a young bully who had been suspended from school for being a bully and Zimmerman defended himself with a weapon he was legally licensed to carry.
That is some of the evidence the jury heard.
Zimmerman should have never been charged with a crime and would not have been charged if not for political pressure.
The initial police reports stated it was a clear cut case of self defense. The jury agreed with the initial investigation.

Self defense.
He wouldn't have gotten more punishment if he killed a dog who viciously attacked him first. He wouldn't have even been questioned for that. Zimmerman followed someone that he thought was a threat to his community. Martin turned and attacked Zimmeman.
You can't possibly think that this was racially motivated since a POC can't be a racist. George Zimmerman is a POC. Hispanic.
Just like Trayvon Martin was. Black.
jesus, it never ends.

Serino was called to the stand by the prosecution and was expected to be a key witness against Zimmerman. In his "just-the-facts" style of answering questions, Serino was repeatedly questioned by the prosecution and defense about Zimmerman's version of what happened that night. But in a surprise, the investigator was asked by Zimmerman's lawyer whether he believed Zimmerman was telling the truth, and the cop answered, "Yes."
The next day the prosecution asked that the jurors be directed to disregard Serino's comment and the judge agreed, but the damage may have been done.
John Good was another prosecution witness whose words may have helped Zimmerman more than the prosecution. Good lived near where the fatal shot was fired and appeared to have had the best view of the brief fight between Zimmerman and Martin.
Good testified that he saw what he believed to be Martin on top of Zimmerman. "The color on top was dark and the color at bottom was…red," Good said referring to the men's clothing. At another point he told the court that the person on the bottom had "lighter skin color."
Zimmerman is a white Hispanic who was wearing a red and black jacket that night. Martin, who was black, was wearing a dark sweatshirt.
"The person on the bottom, I could hear a 'Help,'" Good said.
Under cross examination by Zimmerman's lawyer, Good said he believes he saw Martin on top punching Zimmerman "MMA style," a reference to mixed martial arts.
Renowned forensics expert Vincent Di Maio may have been one of Zimmerman's strongest witnesses. He told the jury that the pattern of powder burns and other forensic evidence on Martin's body indicated that the teenager's sweatshirt was two to four inches away from his body at the time he was shot, meaning that Martin was leaning forward over Zimmerman when he was killed.
"The medical evidence is consistent with his [Zimmerman's] statement," Di Maio told the Florida court.
The words of Trayvon Martin's father were also used to undermine the prosecution's case. A key battle in the trial was over who was heard screaming for help in the background of a 911 call before the fatal shot was fired. Martin's family insisted the voice was their son's voice, while Zimmerman's parents told the court it was Zimmerman screaming.
Serino testified that when Martin's father, Tracy Martin, first heard the tape he said it was not Trayvon. "He looked away and under his breath said,
'No,'" Serino told the court.

And also lacks originality (but that is hardly surprising)
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/07/jimmy-carter-on-george-zimmerman-verdict-right-decision/
Jimmy Carter says the jury made the right call in finding George Zimmerman not guilty.
“I think the jury made the right decision based on the evidence presented, because the prosecution inadvertently set the standard so high that the jury had to be convinced that it was a deliberate act by Zimmerman, that he was not at all defending himself,” Carter told Atlanta NBC affiliate WXIA-TV.
On Saturday, Zimmerman was found innocent by a jury in Florida. He shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012, Zimmerman maintains in self defense.
The former president and Georgia governor discussed the verdict, and what it says about race in America, in an on-camera interview with the station.
“It’s not a moral question, it was a legal question, and the American law requires that the jury listen to the evidence presented,” Carter said.

CHARLES BARKLEY: Well, I agreed with the verdict. I feel sorry that young kid got killed. But they didn't have enough evidence to charge him. Something clearly went wrong that night. Clearly something went wrong. I feel bad for anybody who loses a kid, but if you looked at the case and you don't make it -- there was some racial profiling, no question about it. But something happened that changed the dynamic of that night, and I know -- that's probably not a popular opinion among most people but just looking at the evidence I agreed with the verdict.
I just feel bad because I don't like when race gets out in the media because I don't think the media has a pure heart, as I call it. There are very few people have a pure heart when it comes to race. Racism is wrong in any, shape, form -- a lot of black people are racist too. I think sometimes when people talk about racism, they say only white people are racist. There are a lot of black people who are racist. I don't like when it gets out there in the media because I don't think the media has clean hands.

Under the Affordable Care Act, if a company with 50 employees hopes to avoid the penalty in the so-called employer mandate, it is not enough to merely offer those workers health insurance. The insurance must be “affordable,” among other things, and the law is very specific about what affordable means: It means the employee’s share of the premium cannot exceed 9.5 percent of the employee’s household income.
If this seems straightforward, putting it into action has been anything but. Household income is the benchmark because the Affordable Care Act ties affordability to the tax credits and subsidies available to help individuals purchase insurance in the new marketplaces created by the law. In fact, the penalty for employers who offer unaffordable insurance comes into play only when employees use these subsidies to buy their own insurance rather than accept the company’s coverage.
But employers, of course, are in no position to know what their employees’ household income might be, least of all as determined by the esoteric definition of household income used by the Internal Revenue Service. Among other things, determining household income would force employers to find out how much their employees’ spouses make and even to track down certain private household expenses, like alimony payments.

Kapunua I think this is right up your alley :)

SPIDERS WITH WATER HATS! <3333333 I love spiders! :D
That is cool about Ben Whishaw. It's odd to me that gay people have to "come out" (straight people don't!) but I am happy for him. :D
Right now I'm watching Callum play with a toy that his Grandma bought for him. He's doing that baby squeal that's like "I AM SO EXCITE!!!" I'm eating a piece of chocolate and looking at a video on another tab of JGL name-checking me at his show on Saturday. ^_^ Hi JGL! :DDD
Today feels like autumn is in the air. I'm kinda excited for Autumn tbh. :)
It's good to find out that the rumors about Ben Whishaw and Mark Bradshaw are true. People have suspected they were a couple ever since they worked together on Bright Star. Mark is so talented; the score from Bright Star is gorgeous. He's a cutie too! I'm so happy for both of them. :D

The spider pic was pretty cool!
Nothing beats nature for mind-blowing and funny things.
Must admit the mau5 surprises me now and again.
In a totally good way :)

I <333 the universe in us.
I agree 8:43, the universe is seraphic and spectacular.
One of my most favourite things is seeing stars reflect over the ocean at night :)
Hiya guys, how are you all?
Wow K, Callum is three months old? It seems like just yesterday that I read the birth story. Happy three months Callum, celebrate by having a lovely long nap so your mum can too.
DENVER (AP) -- Coloradans without health insurance found out Friday what it will cost them to comply with the insurance mandate taking effect next year.
The Division of Insurance released rates Friday of plans that comply with the health care overhaul. Eighteen insurance companies will offer 541 separate plans for individuals and small groups.
For a 40-year-old individual customer, monthly premiums will range from $177 a month to $774 a month. The wide range of rates is because premiums depend on the level of coverage and where in the state a person lives.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/colorado-releases-insurance-exchange-rates-161931567.html
Florida found premiums will rise between 7.6% and 58.8%, depending on the insurer. The average increase would be 35%.
Ohio, meanwhile, said there would be an average increase of 41% by comparing a trade association's report of premiums for all plans available today with the average premium expected on the exchange.
Indiana officials said prices would rise an average of 72%.

Kapunua what are you going to tell your child when he asks where his Daddy is?
Soon he will be sitting up, then crawling and trying to stand up and then walk.
All these milestones are exciting (and worrying) at times :)

7:06, I'm going to tell him that Space Angels came down and impregnated me with moonbeams, and that he is a Special Moonbeam Baby and also a unicorn Otherkin.
I'm going to tell him the truth. That I used a donor, and that happy families are all different. Some have a Mom, some have a Mom and Dad, some have two Moms, some have two Dads, some have just a Dad. Some babies come from other countries to be with their families and look different to their Mom and Dad.
Every family is different. What's the big deal?
There is no need to explain yourself to anybody Kapunua.

Children grow up without Daddies all the time. My children lost their father when they were still very young, but both are happy and well-adjusted. A child needs unconditional love, stability and encouragement. If he/she gets that from two parents (mom and dad, two moms or two dads), or one parent, everything will be fine.
A child needs unconditional love, stability and encouragement
I agree!!
And strong boundaries (when young), in my opinion.
And laughter and fun :)
Just discovered that if you mix one part of the body shop white musk oil with vanilla oil, it makes the most heavenly scent for hair :):)
Thank God this band is gone...I can't stand them...hey, how come nothing new? I mean, we still have all the tweets that they've been putting up..I have to say I <3 this blog..I read it everyday KeeP GOING vv :)

Smirk, nice one.
Misinformation drives me crazy. If you read the article about UPS, you'll see it clearly states that spouses who are unemployed or who don't receive medical coverage at their own jobs will continue to be covered by UPS. Therefore, nobody loses coverage. So, what's the big deal?
and here I was thinking that all babies come from special moonbeams....

“If the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court, along with all their staffs, are required to go under Affordable Healthcare Act, I would not object,” read one response to a survey conducted by FedSmith.com, a portal for information regarding issues — like the Affordable Care Act — that impact federal workers. “But if it’s not good enough for the heads of the 3 branches of Government, it isn’t good enough for the rest of us.”
http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/heres-why-federal-workers-dont-want-obamacare.html/?ref=YF
It was written into the bill in the first place on the theory that if Congress was going to make Americans live under the provisions of Obamacare, those who authored it should, as well. But because the language of the amendment contained no guidance on whether the federal contributions toward their health plans was allowed, Congress began to worry.
However, the Office of Personnel Management, with President Barack Obama’s consent, ruled August 7 that Congress members and staff would continue to receive the federal contributions toward their health insurance costs.
"In April, Michigan Republican Dave Camp, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, introduced legislation that would shift all federal employees from FEHBP to the exchanges. “If the ObamaCare exchanges are good enough for the hardworking Americans and small businesses the law claims to help, then they should be good enough for the president, vice president, Congress, and federal employees,” said Camp’s spokeswoman in a statement.
"
^Truth
it's a horrible plan. Less coverage, lower quality care and higher costs for the majority of the working class. That's why the President, congress and the supreme court won't give up their current insurance coverage and shift over to Obamacare. That's why the majority of federal employees and UPS employees don't want to be forced to shift to Obamacare. They want to do what the President and congress are doing.
They want to keep the coverage they have now. They want to keep the health insurance coverage that they've paid for for themselves and their families for years. They don't want to be forced to lose the coverage and doctors they already have to buy into a bad health insurance plan.
If it's not good enough for the President, congress, their staff and their families something is seriously wrong and it's not good for the rest of America.
If it's such a great plan why won't they use it?
What are you trying to do 2:19, start an argument here? It's not going to happen.
Kapunua, just out of curiosity (and you don't need to answer this) are you planning to have another baby :)
Hopefully, (fingers crossed) I'll be pregnant again next year :D
Hey Nonnie.
I don't think I could afford another child. And unfortunately, I don't have another bedroom. I don't think it would be fair making two kids grow up with only one room.
Also, NEGL, I hated being pregnant! Mad props to anyone who can do that more than once! :)
Plus my risks are rising. I'm in pretty good shape, but certain things do get riskier over 40 and going it alone again is daunting.
Good luck to you, 8:21!
That's the dilemma of being a woman Kapunua, we have to make choices with our fertility as it doesn't last forever and gets risky as we age :)
Nothing in life is certain or perfect, and I don't want to be in a position of regret when I'm much older.
So true. The biggest decision ever for some of us!
Kapunua I've been collecting a lot of beautifully illustrated books as I started reading to my little one a couple of months ago, although he tries to grab everything and put it in his mouth ...:)
I have also collected the Fraggle Rock series.
I know it's old in today's terms, but I think it's still cute.
One of my favorite books for Callum is "Hello Bugs" just because it's pretty. He's only 3.5 months but I've been reading to him for about 8 weeks. He does the same thing, just tries to shove everything in his mouth. But now he's really into looking at the shiny pictures and touching crinkly pages.
Some friends of mine in HI sent me some gorgeous Hawaiian baby books and I can't wait to read those to him when he's a little older.
How old is yours, 3:43?
I want to see The Zero Theorem by Terry Gilliam!
To answer your question Kapunua, just a few months older :)
But now he's really into looking at the shiny pictures and touching crinkly pages
Sounds like a good time to start reading to him!
Such a fun age! :) They get better every day!
Can't believe Great D likes the OP-1 by Teenage Engineering :D
(though it's a bit old hat now)
I agree Kapunua, they are adorable at this age!
But I will love him at any age :)
Maybe Great D should get into some Future Techno, love love love AutoKrantz and Attaque.
My lad. :)
Drat, I messed that up. Here
Your son is beautiful Kapunua!
I am very happy for you.
Thank you! :DDDDD We were having our walk to the beach, which he loves, when I took that pic.
Hiya guys, how are you all?
Callum is such a cutie. You could look into his beautiful eyes for hours.
To join in the book convo. When I was little, I loved "The Hungry Catapillar". Also the Mr Men books were a huge fave.
I love the beach Kapunua, any water though the ocean for me is very special :)
Keep on giving your son new experiences Kapunua, and talk and read to him.
It's very good for infant brain development :)
Also the Mr Men books were a huge fave.
Mr Tickle is a favourite here :)
Hiya Misty! I'm too old to have had The Hungry Caterpillar as a child, but I read it to my younger cousins and Callum will definitely have it, too. :)
Anon, me too, I love the water. Once Labor Day is over, locals are allowed to go to the ocean for free (instead of paying for parking!) so we'll be switching from bay to ocean. :D
4:40, too right. I think the more they see, hear, and experience, the more active their minds are. I talk to him all day. Because I know that it'll be all too soon before he starts rolling his eyes at me when I talk to him. ;D
He's a lovely little fellow, Kapunua. He looks so inquisitive and happy. 3 months is an adorable age. =)

emo people can be downright silly!
there is not a fucking chance in hell that kapunua would put herself through as much work and pain as it takes to have a child
besides, she's too selfish
Don't be sad 5:24.
You should take Kapunua's lead and pursue what you want out of life :)
Finally got my dolsot! Been wanting one of those for ages!
Now I'm going to learn how to make bibimbap :)
Because I know that it'll be all too soon before he starts rolling his eyes at me when I talk to him. ;D
Kapunua I think the best part of the day is the mother/son chats we have everyday: I talk, he smiles/giggles/coos/blows raspberries and babbles while I tell him about my day.
I'm just waiting for the day he starts rolling his eyes at me ;)
Oh, and pay no attention to 5:24.

I think we all have a fairly good idea who 5:24 is. How sad their life must be, to still be so focused on hating someone they have never met after all these years smh
Kapunua, your son is so adorable :)

Aw bless, too old, no. It is a brilliant book though. I still go all mushy when I see it in a shop.
