MRC broke up. Good riddance to bad garbage.
But I really doubt that we'll stop hearing their self involved, sexist and racist tweets. Usually when someone in the spotlight says some sexist or racist thing, they get called out and they eventually apologize. Sometimes they are sincere and sometimes they're just catering to the masses to get the media and fans to stop harping on them. When you think of people like Mel Gibson and Michael Richards, they apologized. But do you really believe them? I don't think those people actually learned a lesson.
Did MCR learn a lesson? Definitely not. Frank Iero using the N word in Twitter, then telling people they were "imbeciles" when they told him that wasn't cool. Gerard saying vile and violent things to and about women on his Twitter and then getting his fan sheep to harass those women, with gender based slurs. And the gender based slurs he used to degrade women on Twitter and on stage. Frank Iero's abortion jokes. Ray Toro saying that women shouldn't be allowed to use public toilets. The list goes on.
These comments were never addressed. MCR breaks up and leaves this as their legacy to those of us who know better. They were never forced to apologize, because, I think, they were never famous enough in the media to garner a huge outcry.
And don't forget... MSI is still out there, spewing racist lyrics (and telling people it's okay for white people to do that, because it's "satire"), homophobic lyrics, and violently misogynistic lyrics, making jokes about sexual abuse of children... The two bands are exactly the same.
Yes, I am glad that MCR broke up, but they never apologized for their racism and misogyny. And they are still, sadly, the same exact racist, sexist people they were before they broke up.
BUT... at least they did break up! So go out and celebrate. :-)
With that out of the way I want to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous spring season, or whatever season it is where you live.

This wasn’t a way of assuaging my guilt, because I felt none. It was simply that, having brought them into the world, I would do my best for them.
I cannot understand mothers who insist they want children – especially those who undergo years of fertility treatment – then race back to work at the earliest opportunity after giving birth, leaving the vital job of caring for them to strangers.

They'll sleep when they want to sleep and wake up when they want to wake up. When they're hungry, wet, sick, have a dirty diaper or just don't feel like sleeping. I'm a cat person, so I have to disagree with you here
I like cats too, just my preference is for dogs: I like their loyal and protective tendencies. (And their silliness at times) :)
I like dogs too, but I prefer cats. Cats are so independent, and they all have such unique personalities. I also like their overall "fuck you" attitude. They're sassy. :)
But whatever you prefer, pets add so much to your life. They become part of your family.
I don't see cats the way you do.
I agree they have more of a tendency to be independent and that's evolutionary, just as the pack instincts are for dogs, however even pets have their own distinctive personalities and not all cats are what you call "sassy". (Alpha personalities exist in both cats and dogs)
Also I don't understand the "sassy" thing. In people there comes a time where maturity and being strong and resolute is preferable to being immaturely "sassy".
In people there comes a time where maturity and being strong and resolute is preferable to being immaturely "sassy".
Are you for real?
First of all, we aren't talking about people. And second, dogs are not exactly "mature".
I'm not going to get into an argument about which is better, dogs or cats, because it's a matter of preference, and the two animals are so different that it makes the argument ridiculous.
Cats aren't always sassy. They can be very sweet and loving. Dogs aren't always loyal. Sometimes they turn on their owners for no reason. You can't really generalize because no two are the same.
Can we maybe get a person of colour for Doctor Who? Paterson Joseph or David Harewood would be awesome.
Rory Kinnear is great, but many of the newer fans would never accept a middle aged, balding guy for the part (especially the really annoying ones who used to swoon over David Tennant).

Bullshit. If that were true the divorce rate would be going down instead of going up. I still can't get over the fact that people really believe they're involved in a relationship with a person they've never met.
I've seen so many people say that they've been in a relationship with someone for a year or two and they can't wait to finally meet them in person.
It's ridiculous.
It's ludicrous.
If you haven't touched them , you're not in a relationship with them. If they haven't held you in their arms, looked you in the eyes and told you that they wanted to rip your clothes off, you're not in a relationship with. Not in love. Not in lust. Not in nothing.
The worst part is that some people really believe the online fantasy and if and when they do meet in person and their claimed partner totally blows them off it can be devastating to the rejected person.
It can be hard on the person doing the rejecting too. Having to come up with some bullshit excuse like I've decided to dedicate my life to God and become a priest, nun or join a monastery because they aren't physically attracted to the person they may have liked online.
It still all comes down to chemistry. To physical attraction. To primal instinct.
If the chemistry isn't there nothing else will matter. You have to want and desire your partner in the most basic, primal way if the partnership is to have any chance of success.
Chemistry. Physical attraction. That's the difference between just friends and friends who are also lovers and that can't be found online. That's only determined in person.
lol

we can do better if we find our spouse using a computer.
LoL
I think you are missing the point of the article.
I think what it is trying to say is if you meet someone online that you click with, you are possibly not putting up any defenses and being yourself, unlike if you meet someone at a club or formal setting and take longer to get to know, therefore if you eventually meet that person in real life it may lead to a better outcome.
Any person who has common sense would know you can't be in a true relationship with someone you have never met in real life, even though you may feel connected to them in an emotional sense.
It still all comes down to chemistry. To physical attraction. To primal instinct.
And this attitude is why so many marriages fail. The physical attraction fades away after a while and then what? If you don't have that emotional/cerebral connection then once the thrill is gone there's nothing left.
With online dating, you make the cerebral connection first and then when you meet, if the physical is there, then you have the best of both worlds.
If you haven't touched them , you're not in a relationship with them. If they haven't held you in their arms, looked you in the eyes and told you that they wanted to rip your clothes off, you're not in a relationship with. Not in love. Not in lust. Not in nothing

"Nonetheless, the problem is present in the UK in our local communities as well, for example, the human trafficking case in Ripley and countless cases of sexual assaults and domestic violence."

Yup, and last night SEVEN hours! Not uninterrupted, of course. And my Mom takes him (with a bottle) for 3 hours at night so I can take a nap; I count that for sure because it's the best sleep I get, even though it's on my sofa while she's in her house with the baby!
It's weird, I can't nap in my bedroom because Callum isn't there when his Gran has him and the empty crib freaks me out now. O_O So neurotic.
So I have this 3 hour nap and last night I was on the couch while Hannibal was on, and every time I opened my eyes, I'd see something horrible and get really messed up dreams. (I still can't quit watching that show, though!)
Hiya guys, how are you all?

I like dogs too, but I prefer cats. Cats are so independent, and they all have such unique personalities. I also like their overall "fuck you" attitude. They're sassy. :)
I'm with you Anon, always been more of a cat person myself.
On the Dr Who debate. I think Russell Tovey would be brilliant.

Wow K, 7 hours. I hope Callum can keep that up.

I can see how that could be kind of creepy.
Sorry, felines can be cute, but dogs are more me :)

Hannibal creeps me out. I can't watch it at all.
It doesn't help that the last time I saw Hugh Dancy (The Pride, off Broadway in 2010), his character raped Ben Whishaw's character. It was harrowing. I have trouble seeing him as the good guy. :(

Snowden's revelations began Wednesday when the Guardian published a top secret court order demanding that Verizon Business Network Services turn over details of phone calls published from April 25 to July 19. Intelligence officials later confirmed the program, which analysts say likely covers all U.S. carriers.
On Thursday, the Guardian and the Post disclosed the existence of PRISM, a program they said allows NSA analysts to extract the details of people's online activities -- including "audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails, documents" and other materials -- from computers at Microsoft, Google, Apple and other Internet firms.

"As the Los Angeles Times points out, President Obama even referenced 1984 last week as he defended the NSA's broad and controversial Internet surveillance program, details of which recently leaked to the public.
"In the abstract, you can complain about Big Brother and how this is a potential program run amok, but when you actually look at the details, then I think we've struck the right balance," Obama said."

We are also focusing on the same internet surveillance discussions on our side of the pond. Our government wants to do more snooping in a crackdown on terrorists. He should ask the Fabulous Killjoys for help. The comic , Gerard Way, Shaun Simon and Becky Cloonan are getting rave reviews.
"Books like this don’t come around often. Fabulous art, amazing characters, an intriguing story, and an irresistible premise culminate into something immaculate in Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance) and Shaun Simon’s “The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” #1."
http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3238030/5-skull-review-the-true-lives-of-the-fabulous-killjoys-1/
"9.5 Amazing. Way and Simon's world building takes place through text as well as visuals. The cadence of the language is at once strange and familiar -- it's different enough to displace it from our world, but not so different that it's difficult to fall into it. "

"And what a striking impression the book does leave on the reader. If “Killjoys” commits any crime, it is in refusing to compromise on the fragmented story that it wants to tell. The Killjoys would tell you that that isn’t a crime at all. Individuality is so important in a comic book industry that tends to fall into repetitive cycles and trends. “Killjoys” is a celebration of expecting the unexpected and carving out your own path."

The US military is developing software that will let it secretly manipulate social media sites by using fake online personas to influence internet conversations and spread pro-American propaganda.
Someone is trying to manipulate social media by using fake or anonymous personas to influence conversations and spread their own agenda and propaganda? You don't say? It's unheard of. I'm shocked.

One good thing post pregnancy is great tits!

Not everybody loves the Killjoys -- From Crave Online:
"Reading this first issue a few times, I’m left feeling that those who love this must be fans of the band and the album Danger Days, which Killjoys is loosely based on. I say that because, not being a fan of the band, I found Killjoys to be disjointed and cliché, pulling touchstones from any number of classic sci-fi themes. The giant, evil corporation represented by a large city? The rebel punks who live out in the wastelands? The unwitting messiah? The tough gang leader who buries his feelings beneath layers of harsh words? Off the top of my head, I think of Judge Dredd, The Road Warrior, The Matrix and The Warriors. Where, exactly, is the brazen originality here?"
No one is interested 8:30.
Will Graham DDDDDDD: I just want to hug him and make it better! ^_^
I'm not having a lot of struggles with post-pregnancy weight. In fact I was down to my normal weight the next day.
Cooter-stitches aren't fun though. O_o
The characterization of Will Graham on that show is just about the best thing I've ever seen on network tv. Everything about him comes together so brilliantly: the discomfort in social situations, the penchant for collecting strays, his empathy and self-doubt -- and now an undisclosed medical condition that threatens his sanity and his life. JFC.
Throw in his those gorgeous green eyes and messy mop of curly hair and yeah. Somebody damn well better help Will Graham or I'ma cut some bitches. ^_-
I'm always a sucker for a damaged hero. Also, it's super nice to see a character in distress who is not a damsel!
It is nice to see a character in distress who isn't a damsel. I'd love it if Gillian Anderson's character comes to his rescue. Or maybe Alana or Beverly. Somebody has to figure out sooner or later that what's going on with him has a physiological component, and it sure as hell isn't going to be Jack, who's about as smart as a box of rocks. :/
'm not having a lot of struggles with post-pregnancy weight. In fact I was down to my normal weight the next day.
Same. I was not very big and back to normal apart from the things up top ;)
Ballet isn't about weight control, it's more about posture and balance and it re-strengthens the abdominal muscles.
I think Jack has already figured him out and is just not letting on.
He (Will Graham, I presume) should ask the Fabulous Killjoys for help.
Gerard Way/MCR fans drive me up a wall. Do they never get out of the house? Or maybe visit other parts of the internet that have to do with things that aren't MCR related? Somebody help Will Graham is one of the biggest memes around at the moment, and they're trying to connect it to Gerard's stupid comic. How unbelievably lame.
I don't care about Gerard Way and his dumb comic book, but if that picture of Will standing on the roof of his house in his underwear shows up on my tumblr dash one more time, I swear to god, I'm going to crack. :(
Somebody has got to get that poor boy some proper medical care!
I am inlove with Gillian Anderson on this show. I hope she'll have more time next season. :D

I remember the X-files, liked Gillian Anderson as Agent Scully.
Her character was a wonderful mix of skepticism and brains which added so much dimension to the series and balanced Mulder perfectly :)

I knew that Serena Williams was a dumbass but I never she was this ignorant.
"We watch the news for a while, and the infamous Steubenville rape case flashes on the TV—two high school football players raped a 16-year-old, while other students watched and texted details of the crime. Serena just shakes her head. "Do you think it was fair, what they got? They did something stupid, but I don't know. I'm not blaming the girl, but if you're a 16-year-old and you're drunk like that, your parents should teach you—don't take drinks from other people. She's 16, why was she that drunk where she doesn't remember? It could have been much worse. She's lucky. Obviously I don't know, maybe she wasn't a virgin, but she shouldn't have put herself in that position, unless they slipped her something, then that's different."
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/tennis-busted-racquet/serena-williams-speaks-steubenville-rape-victim-questions-her-212112851.html
No Serena. They didn't do something stupid. They did something disgusting, violent and criminal. Shouldn't their parents have taught them to not sexually assault and rape a girl under any circumstances.

Gotta love blaming the victim. :/ LIke it matters if she was a virgin or not! She could have slept with a hundred guys - they STILL don't have the right to touch her without her enthusiastic consent.
Sometimes I hate people.
Sometimes I hate people.
You and me both. Do they not realize that they're putting such ridiculous double standards on women? I mean, if a 16 year old guy goes out and gets dead drunk and passes out, would he be considered "lucky" if he just got anally raped by a couple of guys? I mean, one wouldn't know if he was a virgin or not, but he shouldn't put himself in that position...
Yeah. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? And blaming the girls parents for not teaching her better? Please.
If one of my friends, male or female got really drunk at a party, my only concern would be making sure they got home okay. But then, I'm a decent, compassionate human being. Maybe those boys' parents are the ones who should have taught their sons about compassion and decency. Oh, and NOT TO RAPE.
