Good riddance

MRC broke up. Good riddance to bad garbage.

But I really doubt that we'll stop hearing their self involved, sexist and racist tweets. Usually when someone in the spotlight says some sexist or racist thing, they get called out and they eventually apologize. Sometimes they are sincere and sometimes they're just catering to the masses to get the media and fans to stop harping on them. When you think of people like Mel Gibson and Michael Richards, they apologized. But do you really believe them? I don't think those people actually learned a lesson.

Did MCR learn a lesson? Definitely not. Frank Iero using the N word in Twitter, then telling people they were "imbeciles" when they told him that wasn't cool. Gerard saying vile and violent things to and about women on his Twitter and then getting his fan sheep to harass those women, with gender based slurs. And the gender based slurs he used to degrade women on Twitter and on stage. Frank Iero's abortion jokes. Ray Toro saying that women shouldn't be allowed to use public toilets. The list goes on.

These comments were never addressed. MCR breaks up and leaves this as their legacy to those of us who know better. They were never forced to apologize, because, I think, they were never famous enough in the media to garner a huge outcry.

And don't forget... MSI is still out there, spewing racist lyrics (and telling people it's okay for white people to do that, because it's "satire"), homophobic lyrics, and violently misogynistic lyrics, making jokes about sexual abuse of children... The two bands are exactly the same.

Yes, I am glad that MCR broke up, but they never apologized for their racism and misogyny. And they are still, sadly, the same exact racist, sexist people they were before they broke up.

BUT... at least they did break up! So go out and celebrate.  :-)

With that out of the way I want to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous spring season, or whatever season it is where you live.

Kyoto is beautiful 12:17!

If you ever have the opportunity to go, I would recommend that you do :)

It's very different to Tokyo, it's more the "traditional" Japan, full of temples and the old shogun palace which is incredible: also if you love Japanese gardens as much as I do, (I'm madly in love with Japanese irises and peonies) the city has some of the most beautiful ones around!

Gonna watch it tonight Anon. I love South Park.

That was the best episode of South Park in years. A giant foam middle finger to the Kartrashians Kanye West, and all superficial fame and fortune. Fame and fortune does not equal success in life in any way. Not when it's all superficial. She's famous for a sex tape and photoshopped pictures and he's famous for being a self adoring obnoxious asshole who thinks he's God's gift to mankind. Bravo South Park. Helping people is great, but let's not forget our furry friends out there. Volunteering with your local Humane Society is an amazing experience. Animals need people to socialize with them while they are waiting for adoption in shelters.

Also, you can help by donating to rescue groups, or participate in foster programs for kittens/puppies. Cat lovers should look into local groups who trap and neuter/spay feral felines to cut down on feral populations. And if you have room in your heart and home, consider adopting a pet from a rescue or shelter. Shelter pets make great companions, and you'll be saving a life!

Just sick about Dylan Farrow's open letter about Woody Allen. I have loved so many of his films, and even though I thought his marrying his stepdaughter was weird and kinda sick, I still loved his work. Now, knowing what he did to Dylan, I'll never be able to view his work the same way.

Annie Hall, Midnight in Paris, Blue Jasmine and so many others, all brilliant. But now, all I would see whilst watching would be a pedophile, assaulting his own adopted child.

The only thing I have planned is that it would be nice to have it outside, and that I'm going to get him a fresh lei from Hawai'i. :D

Off topic, but Welshie, I was thinking about youwhen I read this post on Tumblr about how Welsh people were getting upset because non-Welsh people kept insisting that the Welsh word for "microwave" was "popty ping." They were like "We don't actually say that! It's a meicrodon!" And then someone posted a list of really awesome Welsh words. :) Anyway, it made me think of you.

I always wonder what those words translate to that I always see in Cardiff on Torchwood, on that big oval building by the fountain / tower thingie. :D

Hello Miss T petal, ‘tis I, your little daffodil :)
The Welsh coastline has taken a helluva battering. I have to go to Aberystwyth once a week with my work and I’ve seen the damage to the sea front. We’ve had rain, severe gales, snow and sunshine in the last 24 hours. I do believe the sky is drunk!
80 – 100 mph winds predicted for Wales today. Eek!

It’s so good to see your name again Kapunua.
The Welsh word for microwave is microdon. Initially I thought popty ping was a word that was sometimes used in South Wales but a quick call to my dad’s brother who lives in Cardiff confirmed that he too uses the word microdon.

That building is Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru, Wales Millennium Centre
The words on the front of the building are two poetic lines, written by Welsh poet Gwyneth Lewis. The Welsh version is Creu Gwir fel gwydr o ffwrnais awen, which means "Creating truth like glass from the furnace of inspiration." The English is In These Stones Horizons Sing.

That must be awful seeing all the damage that's been done on the coast. And they can't fix anything cos they are still getting a battering.

I love the Welsh language, I love going there and seeing the Welsh wording on the road signs, I love to compare it with the English. The Welsh words always look far more interesting.
