As for 9:57 AM, I agree completely with you on how these kids will turn out -IF all we do is mock them, and do nothing to try and reason with them, or get them on a better path. Why can no one understand that that is all I want? That's all I'm asking for. I don't feel having a bit of hope in some lost causes makes me a lower person. Or an overzealously idealistic person. Or a troll.

No I'm sorry that is idealism. Don't you see that many uber conservatives think very similarly to you, thinking that you can change a mindset? My experiences have shown me that people do not change their thinking unless they were receptive to entertain the notion in the first place. People generally resist change and who is anyone to force their opinion i.e. that you shouldn't follow the band, on others?

Anonymous said...

4:06 if anyone disrespected my opinion it wouldn't bother me. They are my opinions and I stand by them.

Anonymous said...

I disagree, 4:12. I believe if you give people the right tools, and the benefit of the doubt, then eventually someone will come out better for it.

I stand by my opinions as well, 4:14. I won't change because I am not popularly agreed with. And there is a difference between disrespect and rudeness. I'm sure you know that.

But you know what, I will stop. I don't like giving up on anyone, but I have clearly and coninuously barked up the wrong tree here. I assumed given the general opinion of MSI, MCR etc, that someone would understand why its important to try and reach the younger fans. But I will find another venue for it. And before I am insulted, or accused of throwing a fit or being hysterical, I am merely trying to accept that I was wrong in coming here. I appreciate the conversation, when it was had. Good luck to everyone. And I would appreciate it if, only one of you, if a fansheep comes by screaming and frothing at the mouth -would camly try to reason with them. I don't think they are all lost to their ignorance and bad choices. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Good luck with that 4:18. I still don't agree with you. All the reason in the world will not change their idolatry. And maybe some of these 'young' fans will mature and stop their bad behavior.

Anonymous said...

And I would appreciate it if, only one of you, if a fansheep comes by screaming and frothing at the mouth -would camly try to reason with them

We have, many times, it didn't change things.

Anonymous said...

the point is not to give up.

Anonymous said...

It's not giving up: sometimes you have to allow people to find the truth for themselves without forcing it on them.

kapunua said...

You're not addressing a single thing anyone is saying to you. Again and again, you're just complaining about how no one is listening and you're being disrespected. And yes, you're being very histrionic about this whole thing.

Go back and re-read some of the things I've said to you and asked of you, and actually address those things. If you can do that for me, without whining that everyone is "throwing you to the wolves", then maybe we'll talk.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand how you can reason with someone who is throwing slurs and death threats at you. Just sayin'.

Anonymous said...

^You can't.

Anonymous said...

That's why the war on terrorism is still being fought. 10 years after 9 11. Because you can't reason with Muslim extremists who are throwing racial slurs and death threats at you. Like 4:12 said you can't kind change a mindset so why even try. Diplomacy is a waste of time. Just carpet bomb all of the middle east and be rid of them and their mindset once and for all.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the “MC Army”. These poor emosexual souls have been deceived into being so willing to defend their favourite band Chemical Romance, that they would even pollute the holiness that is the British music charts

Yes, I know you were being sarcastic, but what a ridiculous analogy.

First of all, when have any of us suggested anything akin to "capet bomb"ing the MCRmy?

Secondly, do you really think that diplomacy (or anything else, really) is going to change the minds of radical Muslin extremists who are willing to participate in suicide bombings to get their point across? You can "reason" with people like that until you are quite blue in the face, and all it will get you is a blue face. The same goes for people like those Westboro Baptist Church loonies. Reason is not something they readily comprehend.

The best we can hope for is that each successive generation will be more educated and less likely to fall prey to the kind of hate mongering that we abhor here. Which is one of the very reasons we here are so against MCR/MSI and all they represent. They have to power to educate their young fans, and what do they teach them? #dieslow, #smashedface, coat-hanger abortion jokes and "get down on your knees", etc. In my opinion, that's shameful and makes them the worst sort of human beings.

Criticize us all you want, but if you ask me, your criticism is misplaced. We aren't the cause of the problem, and we aren't doing anything to make things worse. We're simply venting our frustrations.

You really don't know how the real world works

The smart, mature real world doesn't learn morals or values from a rock band or from politicians. They don't see any member of a band or any politician as a savior, hero, worthless douchebag or as evil incarnate. They grow out of their rose colored glasses, blind teenage idol worship and their need to belittle people who see things differently.

IOW they don't buy the bullshit or invest too much in the propaganda of any celebrity, political party or agenda. They learn to think for themselves, do their own research and recognize and learn from their own mistakes. They don't generalize and they don't label. They learn to be individuals and respect the opinions of other individuals. No matter how different those opinions are from their own.

Anonymous said...

If they're really smart they remember what it's like to be a tween and a teenager. They remember how naive and easily influence they were. They remember how they misunderstood things, took things to the extreme and how badly they were made to feel by adults who called them stupid and hopeless for whatever reason.

They remember those things and they don't try to make the kids of today feel silly, stupid, worthless or hopeless.

Anonymous said...

The people defending tsunami and rape jokes need to take a long walk off a short pier.

Anonymous said...

12:14,

You are confusing the "real world" with a "perfect world".

Anonymous said...

12:14 lives in a Nicolas Sparks novel.

Anonymous said...

Get some perspective 12:14. If you lived in the real world you would understand that it's imperfect and unpredictable. Besides your argument is faulty: not all their fans are young and many of the people that behave that "way" are adults.

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter how young MCR fans are, they still should know better than to go throwing around racial/sexist slurs and making death threats. Age is no excuse. Ignorance is no excuse. If they carried through with their threats of violence, they would still be punished, regardless of their age. That's what Juvenile Courts are for.

I hardly think that poking fun at their ignorance is going to do them any real harm. If anything, it might make them realize how stupidly they are behaving.

Anonymous said...

I think many of these MCR young fans behave that way because their friends within the MCR community behave that way too. A lot of it is pack mentality. With the adults, that's a different story.

Anonymous said...

Oh God forbid anyone should call these poor innocent children out on their bad behavior, lest it hurt their self-esteem and cause them to feel badly about themselves. Children should be free to use racist, sexist and ageist slurs whenever they want. And why would you want to hinder the development of their creativity and self-expression by telling them they shouldn't make death threats? After all, folks are making fun of their BELOVED BAND! The band that SAVED THEIR LIVES!

*rolls eyes*

Eeexactly. Why would anyone want to flash their tits to GW unless they were a)drunk b)confused thinking it was Blink c) stupid or all of the above.

Anonymous said...

Great attempt by GW to convince that they're not sexist when I would interpret it as him hating on the female anatomy.

Anonymous said...

That's taking it a bit far, 4:59. I think that was as polite a request to put her breasts back in her top, as one can manage.

He was obviously on drugs when he said that, 9:07. Not an excuse, but a fact. He hasn't said anything like that again. Aside from a few druken tweets. That fan was also vulgarly insulting his family that night, before he replied just as vulgar to her. Two wrongs don't make a right, but he wasn't sober either time.

Anonymous said...

Lol he's and I quote not afraid to call a 16 year old a c*** but a girl flashes her boobies and he's being polite? Don't think so.

You're guessing he was on drugs and prove this girl was insulting his family. From what I've observed his Mrs is prone to insulting fans herself.

Anonymous said...

That fan was also vulgarly insulting his family that night

LOL that didn't happen. Sibohan called him a coward and a misogynist for using violent sexist language, which he then went on to prove by using more of the same towards her. She called him out, he got defensive and butthurt and tried to be a big bully. Gerard Way, his racist wife and their perfect little 'family' are not the victims here. Stop trying to give him an excuse for threatening to hit a woman. There is never a good enough excuse for that.

Anonymous said...

I don't think that's him.

Anonymous said...

His wife played to some of the most disgusting songs written by a band and he has the nerve to call teenagers c***s

Anonymous said...

Maybe he's returning to the band for their new album.

Anonymous said...

I've heard so much about the one comment GW posted that day. About him saying that he wasn't afraid to call somebody a c*nt.

What exactly did Siohban or whatever she was calling herself on twitter at the time say to him? Did anybody save those comments?

A person can only take so much before they push back. It sounds to me like GW pushed back to defend people he cares about. That's not a douchebag move. That's a move of a man who's had enough and has the balls to push back. Insult his family, push his buttons and he'll push yours right back and go a step further. He'll shove that move right down your own throat. He'll get much more support for his pushing back and defending the woman he loves and only the developmentally disabled or those who take themselves way too seriously would have taken his smashed faced comment seriously.

IMO Only cowards stand by and do or say nothing while somebody they care about and love is being insulted or assaulted.

Anonymous said...

It's like the smart ass on the playground who thinks she's being funny by making yo mamma jokes. Then is shocked when somebody has the guts to slap her across her f*cking face.

Some people could argue that most of regs on this blog need a good, old fashioned slap across the face. I'll do it. For 7 bucks and a Mr. Pibb.

Oh noes! I just made a seriouz threat of violence on the webz.

Reality people. Try to get a grip on it.

Anonymous said...

Rape-culture enabling idiot. Go away. I bet you think Rihanna 'deserved' it too.

Anonymous said...

Siobhan told Gerard he wouldn't dare use racial slurs like he uses sexist ones and that he'd likely be beaten up if he did (which is true).

You've basically said it's ok for a man to insult and/or threaten physical violence to a woman because he's had a bad day or because they said something they didn't like.

If he apologised, said ' you know what I shouldn't have said it I was stressed and I messed up' Then I wouldn't have a problem, the fact he's gloryfying it is the issue, the fact that he doesn't realise that's not the way you should converse with others in a civilised society, particularly the people who got you where you are, is the problem. The fact he's been a damn hypocrite is also the problem.

Anonymous said...

IMO Only cowards stand by and do or say nothing while somebody they care about and love is being insulted or assaulted.

Yes and I bet you apply that same logic to all the POC, women, rape victims, child abuse victims and people with learning difficulties that MSI mock and attack in their music. By that logic, you'd be fine with any one of the members of those marginalised groups attacking or threatening to physically attack Lindsey and her bandmates?

Anonymous said...

Go to Papalani's twitter to read the comments. You'll see why Gerard is little more than an embarrassed fool who is sore because he got called out, and then resorted to threats of violence to try and intimidate those who spoke the truth against him.

Hardly 'threatening his family'. And you know what? If Gerard was pissed about the truth, then he should just do what everyone else with a brain and a twitter account manages to do and BLOCK AND MOVE ON. There is NO EXCUSE for a man to threaten to punch a woman. None. But Gerard doesn't have a brain, just a shitty misogynist attitude and a gang/family full of sexist/racist enablers, so I guess it all makes sense now.

Anonymous said...

I've just backread that twitter and I cannot find a single tweet which makes threats against Gerard, MCR or their families. Not one. There are tweets asking them to explain their sexist/racist/misogynist crap and also giving them a reality check about how their words affect people and propogate those attitudes and brands of discrimination. They sound exactly like the sort of pro-feminist/anti-discrimination tweets people love to retweet and support when MCR-hangers on like Jessicka Addams make them. Funny how when someone casts the light over Lord Way and his cronies, it's 'abuse!' 'attacks!' And they're STILL sendinf Sibohan those #dieslow death threats! Great work for hope and equality, MCR. Great work there.

Anonymous said...

I'm fine with any make believe or snarky threats of perceived violence. Why? Because they are not real threats. Who the fuck would believe somebody would actually smash another person's face in for 6 bucks and a Dr. Pepper? Probably the same type of person who would take go play in traffic and die or you should have had yourself aborted as an oh so serious wish of death.

If you don't have a problem with the latter two commands and wishes you shouldn't have a problem with the cost of the first internet threat.

He didn't say he was going to smash her face in. He listed the price of smashing her face in.

This shit is seriouz.

Actually that's excellent advice since what they have done and continue to do sucks a giant bag of hypocritical stank balls.

Anonymous said...

If I see a man making such proud and public threats of violence against women and then refusing to listen to why he's wrong, I automatically assume he's the sort of man who might progress into commiting acts of domestic violence at some point.

Violence against women is not a joke. It's not 'edgy', it's not 'revenge' for anything, it's not 'art'. It's fucked up, cowardly, pathetic and the behaviour of a big fucking bully. If Gerard had any notion of just how much he fucked up, he'd delete the tweets and make a full apology for those and all his misogynistic hate speech. But he will never change while he thinks he's jusfitfied in talking that way.

I just hope he sees the light before he makes good on one of his threats and ends up doing something he really regrets. I suspect time in a cell for assault and battery might start that process, but only because he'd been held accountable for his actions and lost his nice comfortable lifestyle as a result of his hate and violence.

Dear troll: I am honestly sorry for what happened to you. No one should have to live through that. But just because you're all right with these asshats making light of that ordeal, doesn't mean that the rest of us have to be. You have your way of dealing with it. I totally agree with jailing people like this. And let's also be clear that no one threatened Gerard - he just got called out on his hate speech. Gerard was the one who made the actual threat. It would be pretty nice if he could be held accountable for his harassing statements, too.

Has anyone seen Warrior yet? If so, can we talk about how amazing Tom Hardy was in that film? Everything about him -- every look, every word, every movement exuded so much pain that it was palpable. I never cry at movies, but I cried for his character, Tommy.

People here go on about how hot this man is, but the fact is he is one of the finest actors of our time.

kapunua said...

I saw Warrior last night, in fact. The entire cast was off-the-charts superb. But yeah, Tom Hardy isn't afraid to go to that really dark place, you know? He was amazing.

Without giving away spoilers, I wasn't thrilled with the ending, however. I felt it left way too much open. (The widow, the marines thing, etc.) I am also constantly displeased by how women are portrayed in American martial arts films. For the most part, they just stand there and hide their eyes. Would have been better without even including her reactions, to be honest.

But, YES, a sad, emotional film, with excellent acting all around. And DAMN, some of those grappling moves. O_O That stuff is not easy, that much I can tell you.

Gosh, I would kill myself if I had legions of fucking stupid people like that worship me, because what would that say about me?
But then, since pea brain Jerald Wu is just as braindead as his fansheep he doesn't seem to mind.

Anonymous said...

What manners you have, Siobhan. That anon was't speaking to anyone like you just did. Disagree, but try and do it like a grown up, no matter what you think of the person you are replying too.

Anonymous said...

I can understand Siobhan's frustration. I mean, how many times do people have to reiterate that she was not "attacking" Gerard's family? Fansheep don't seem capable of interpreting this situation correctly, and I don't blame Siobhan for getting sick of being made out to be the villain by them, and it doesn't matter what she says (or how she says it), those morons (because that's what they are) are not going to take the time to go back and actually read what happened. They don't want their heroes to be wrong, after all.

That said, I do think she could tone down the insults, but who am I to judge? I can't imagine all the hate mail, death threats, etc., that she has gotten from the MCRmy. It would be very difficult not to lash out at them.

Anonymous said...

4:18, after all the shit Siobhan has had to face because of that tweet, I don't blame her for being pissed.

Anonymous said...

Siobhan don't worry about these fangirls, they have to make up stories to justify their worshiping of their silly idol Gerard the great.

kapunua said...

You know what's funny, I can guarantee you that what Siobhan said to Gerard got to him and to his wife. All I keep hearing is how she "attacked his family." Not just from fangirls, but, let's just say, from others as well.

Gerard was the one doing the bullying/attacking. He got his stupid ass called on it, and it made a huge dent in his poor little (huge) ego. He knew he was wrong, so he did the only thing a bully could do: he lashed out even more, and got his "legion" to back him up. After all, how "wrong" can you be when so many people are standing behind you, shouting abusive language at the person who pointed out your mistake?

Believe me when I tell you, Gerard's dumbass wife heard all about this, and also whined to her friends about "poor Gerard getting attacked" as well.

Which, if you think about it just from that perspective, is pretty funny.

Awww, I'm soo sowwy!!!!!!!

I don't have any patience anymore for stupid people.
I don't know how many times I discussed the incident with those morons and still they shamelessly lie about what happened so that they can deceive themselves into thinking that their idiot overlord was right.

I think I have every right to call an idiot out for being an idiot and if your delicate feelings are offended by the word 'fuck' then I'd strongly suggest you get off the internet immediately, anon.
'Cause people there say fuck a lot!

Thanks for your support Kapunua and other anons! Highly appreciated.
I really can't believe that people dare to come here and still claim that I threatened Gerard or his wife and his child. Unbelievable!

Also, I'm still waiting for that anon from a few days ago who claimed that Gerard was merely quoting from a very famous book. I still don't know what book that is.

Anonymous said...

I can guarantee you that what Siobhan said to Gerard got to him and to his wife. All I keep hearing is how she "attacked his family." Not just from fangirls, but, let's just say, from others as well.

LOLOLOLOL this is fucking hilarious. Maybe you-know-who should take some reading lessons click here:

http://newageamazon.buzznet.com/user/journal/7965831/dear-gerard-way-dont-care/

She can read all about her poor little BFF Gerard being hounded by those pesky femnazis! After all, how DARE someone call a spade a spade!

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Lindsey gives a fuck about all the people in Japan that she attacked with her shitty tsunami joke. Or all the children being sexually abused who she mocked with her shitty 'Panty Shot' song. Yeah, I'm sure she really cares about all the victims of those horrific things. I'm sure SHE'S the real victim there, along with her proudly violent, misogynist husband.

Anonymous said...

Why am I not suprised that a certain someone sided with the sob story (see also: 'excuse') of man who thinks it's funny to threaten to smash a woman's face in. Could it be that, despite all her faux-feminist posturing, she actually believes this man is worth more than the women he offends and threatens, and probably deep down wouldn't have an issue at all with him smacking a woman around like he seems to want to do.

Anonymous said...

It's good to know she approves of a man hitting a woman as long as he's given reasonable cause!

Anonymous said...

Maybe when he flips out and smacks someone she cares about around, she might change her tune. Until then, she'll just keep right on defending his misogyny and hate speech. It's tragic but it's the reality for so many of these women who refuse to challenge men's violent attitude/threats towards women, and who look the other way when they should be speaking up.

kapunua said...

I'm not saying anyone specific, I'm just saying that Gerard whined to a lot of people about being "attacked", like a typical bully when someone pushes back. And also like a typical bully, he rallied his group of hangers-on to storm the playground.

It just so happens that this playground bully is famous, and has an "army" of thick-witted fans to back him up. He's counting on their lack of perspective, their lack of self esteem, and their need to be recognized by someone "famous." He relies on that weakness, when he needs them all do "defend" him from the eeeeevil women who don't enjoy the way he talks to us.

Geard's always been a little bunter bully boy at heart. He's wanted to be the leader of a gang of bullies for years, and has found the perfect lot to hang with: sexist Toro, racist Iero, and his hanger-on idiot brother. Oh, and that 'army' of teenies. Not forgetting the racist wife and her friends...

Anonymous said...

He probably would try and argue how wanting to hit women was part of his 'art'.

I think MCR have a lot riding on their next album. It's sink or swim time for them. I mean, what can they do now musically to stay relevant in the rock world? They can't do the emo thing-that's dead. They've tried this pop-rock whatever DD was, so what's left?

I can't find the quote about girl gamers on his twitter so I think it was in a blog on their site or in a magazine. He was just being patronising and rude about women gamers. Perhaps someone else will remember the exact quote.

It's great that Jessicka is retweeting details of the anti-date rape Biden issue, but it makes me sick to think she is okay with a man threatening violence on women because he feels he's justified to do it.

There is never any justification for hitting a woman or threatening to do so, just as there is no justification for rape. To side with her best friend and her husband in blind loyalty and ignore all her feminist logic is an appaling act of betrayal to the feminist community she has been a vocal part of for so long.

I am upset with her, and have lost much of my respect and trust in her. I just hope she takes the time to read some of the links posted here and learn that nothing Gerard said was justifiable in any way. Not one person attacked his family in order to provoke him. He provoked the people he would later threaten to punch when he called them 'c*nts' without any reason/trigger at all.

I just hope Bandit doesn't grow up thinking that it's okay for some bloated rockstar to make threats or call her those disgusting things just because he was drunk/angry/having a bad day.

Anonymous said...

I saw Warrior last night because my boyfriend dragged me, and I did not expect to like it at all, but it was really good. I had a few problems with the overall storyline, and I did not agree with Brendan not taking his wife's feelings into account, but because the acting was so amazing and the movie had so much heart, I was able to overlook a lot.

I was not a huge Tom Hardy fan before this either, mostly because I hadn't seen him in anything but Star Trek (and ew), but now I have seen the light. I think he's one of those guys you have to see in motion. He's much better looking on film than in pictures, and his acting is incredible. Now I have to go look up his other movies.

Has she ever said that she is okay with it? Just because she didn't tweet Gerard telling him off doesn't mean she hasn't said something to him or Lyn-z.

I agree with the other anon that said telling Gerard off in public wouldn't do anything except have the MCRMY attack and further muddy the situation.

I have not seen Jessicka post, say, or do one racist, homophobic, or sexist thing. I refuse to lump her in just because she's friends with Lyn-Z.

I take each person on face value, no matter who they are friendly with.

Where has she sided with Gerard Way? There's no evidence of this. She's just said nothing to him in public which is a smart move because if she did MCR idiot fans would only blindly defend him.

Come on anon, the second Jessicka calls Gerard out on his sexist behavior, her friendship with LynZ will end. Gerard's precious ego will not tolerate anybody-least of all a woman-speaking some sense to him. Of course, LynZ will side with her husband/meal ticket.

Sorry but there is just too much assumption here for me to be sold. None of us know the true dynamics of these relationships.

What you watch for? That's putting a person's every tweet under scrutiny. It's also a real internet stalk mentality. You watch her every action?
I agree with what was said before, lecturing Gerard via twitter or publicly would be stupid on Jessicka's part. Too many idiot MCR fans would get involved.

Yes, actions do speak louder then words. That's my point. None of us know what has been said or not been said to Gerard to his face. I doubt Gerard could stand up to Jessicka or even Lynz. If you knew anything about Jessicka's history you'd know she is a tough cookie.

I think all of the hate directed her way here is unfounded. But that's my opinion.

kapunua said...

First of all, I don't see any Jessica "hate" here. I think that's a wild overstatement, but hey, that's nothing new. Then, this:

You all talk about empowering women here. Why should anybody even a friend influence a strong woman?

Do you know what systematic oppression is? It doesn't matter how "strong" a woman is, or is supposed to be. We still live in a patriarchy. Every misogynist word and action is one more stone added to the pile. We speak out against it, and we get called bitches, Feminazis, and slurs (by people like Gerard Way.)

It's hard even for a "strong" woman to stand up against this kind of systematic oppression. Harder still when you have to say it to your friends.

HOWEVER. It still needs to be said. It takes strength to call out your friends and say, "Wow, it really bugs me when you talk like that." A good person will say, "Oh, I didn't realize. I'll work on that."

Someone like Gerard (or Lindsey, apparently,) will brush it off. In a lot of cases when immature people get called out, they know better than to talk like that to their friends anymore. But, they'll ramp it up with other people, just out of shame and defiance. This is called "kicking the dog." Someone calls you out, you feel foolish but you can't say anything to them, so you find people "lower down" than you, and take it out on them. Gerard Way does this all the time.

Take note of how when someone calls him out, he takes his rage out on sixteen year old girls. He's going to going to "smash your face" and show you all what a big, tough guy he is because he's "not afraid to call a 16 year old a c***."

Oh, wow, I'm trembling in my boots.

Personally, I have no idea how she can even stand to be in the same room with him. He seems to have no redeeming qualities. :/

Anonymous said...

I agree with you on all fronts. On systematic oppression and on living in a patriarchal society. But what I was saying was none of us know what anybody says offline. You've said things to people in your personal life, about how certain terms offend you and unless you brought it here or blogged about it none of us would know. But in my eyes not knowing that you said these things doesn't make you any less of a feminist in my eyes, kapunua.

I'm not in her position and even I know that dealing with idiotic pre teen MCR fans online after calling out Gerard Way on a public forum would do no good.

Personally, I have no idea how she can even stand to be in the same room with him. He seems to have no redeeming qualities. :/

Anonymous said...

You are wrong 3:44. In America it is seen as a racist slur by people of color. Spade, coon and the n word are all derogatory.

Anonymous said...

An English person probably wouldn't want to ask where they could buy some fags in America. That could be taken as derogatory and classless.

Anonymous said...

They were not calling anyone a spade. They were using a well known english idiom which is unrelated to racism.

Anonymous said...

Not everyone on this blog is American.

Anonymous said...

I'm British. If someone said "call a spade a spade" it wouldn't be taken as a racial slur. It's simply not a racist term here. FYI, a "spade" is a garden tool.

And like 9;04 said, the term "fags" is used here commonly. It is not an offensive term either, just another way of saying cigarettes.

Not everyone speaks like Americans.

Anonymous said...

I'm the person who originally used the term earlier on the other page. I want to apologise for any offence caused to Americans here. I honestly had no idea that the word 'spade' had any context as a racial slur at all. I have never heard it used that way and since I'm British, I have always used it before in the saying which comes from the latin expression. Thanks for letting me know, but I stress again it was in no way intentional, and several Brits here have testified to that. Sorry again!
