Gosh he's gorgeous!

Frank was right to say what he did, he gave us the facts that he could, the dude stole, the band are upset, they won't be talking about it again. Easy. Over.

Pedicone didn't deny stealing, just said it was an error in judgement. If he never works again as a drummer, that's not Frank's doing that's off his own back for taking things that didn't rightfully belong to him. Not only that but shit always gets leaked anyway and nothing stays a secret, so its better for Frank to comment on it and say what happend, then have some idiot looking for a quick buck leaking the info and having the rumor mill go into overdrive, as that'd be even worse for Pedicone.

I feel sorry for him ofc, he's lost a job and friends (him and frank seemed quite close) but those are the consequences.

They'll get a new tour drummers and session drummers and that's it.

Is it me or is Jessicka looking more and more like LynZ every day? I swear they both could pass for twins. Jessicka could be single-white-femaling her beloved friend. It explains why she is so defensive of her.

Anonymous said...

Maybe she'll perform songs about kids being raped too, like her best friend does.

Anonymous said...

Been reading early reviews for Warrior, and I'm thinking maybe I'll go see it, even though I don't usually like films about fighting sports. I wish Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy would come out sooner. :/

What was that movie you all used to talk about, that you said ws too hard to watch? I'm in the mood for something sad.

Anonymous said...

I think you're talking about Mysterious Skin?

Anonymous said...

I wonder if MCR will keep Jarrod Alexander as their drummer for the rest of this tour and when the tour ends. He's a great drummer.

Hello people!

I've got a question.
Did anyone of you ever get an e-mail by Youtube in which they invite you to earn revenue from your videos?

If yes, what did you do?

“I feel a bit brutish and a bit ugly. My fiancée (actress Charlotte Riley) is small and petite. She hit me the other night while we were sleeping. I was snoring so bad. She hit me. I said, ‘Is it cuddle time?’” - Tom Hardy

He makes me grin like a madman(women) but still a such a cuteball :)

To screw over as many people as possible. From the look of this blog they're doing a fantastic job.

Aww, isn't he sweet. I bet a cuddle from Tommy Hardy would feel really nice ^_^
Charlotte is a lucky girl.

Kapunua do you know of the totally gorgeous English actor Henry Cavill? He played Charles Brandon in The Tudors.

kapunua said...

I've never heard of him, anon. :) But then I don't have cable, hehe. I did want to see The Tudors when I first heard of it though.

I saw that quote from T-Hard on Tumblr. He's tooc ute. But yeah, I wish he would get back to his regular size.

Oh, if we're talking about Mysterious Skin, keep in mind that it's a bit more than just "sad." It's really difficult. Fair warning!

Sorry this is so quick - off to work!

Jessicka 1997?

I'm sorry but Jessicka looks nothing like Lynz. I think that was a stupid comment to make. I also think all the hate that is being directed to her here is very childish.

I know I'm now going to be called out as being a fan girl, IDC. It's not that I'm such a big fan, it is more that I don't think any evidence has been found that Jessicka is a bad person.

I think we should hold the same moral and ethical code for women as we do men here.

All this talk about beautiful boys who can do no wrong and then so much hate directly to a woman we know very little about is REALLY hypocritical in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

1:58 AM

this is really stupid.

Anonymous said...

11:05 AM

How so? They look nothing alike.

Anonymous said...

I agree. Jessicka Addams and Lyndsey Way look no more alike than Jessika and Dita Von Teese. All three are attractive women but they bear no physical resemblance to one another.

Anonymous said...

8:58 AM

I was just about to type a very similar comment using Von Teese as an example.

11:05 AM
You can't back this up this Single White Female thing. It was a very silly comment.

Anonymous said...

I've seen recent pictures of Jessicka and in my opinion the two woman are beginning to look similar. I'm not saying it to be bitchy or whatever, just my opinion.

Here's one. Even the pose is LynZ-like.

http://yfrog.com/mmustfj

And, 8:42, no-one is "hating" on Jessicka. We are just wondering what a so-called feminist is doing hanging out with a bunch of racist, sexist morons like the MSI bunch.

Anonymous said...

9:08, I don't really know much about Von Teese to be fair.

Anonymous said...

I've also seen recent picture and these two women look nothing alike.

http://yfrog.com/mmustfj
The overall look of the photo was really reminiscent of the way Jessicka looked in the 90's.

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/252/2803170.jpg

I'm sorry but the whole Lynz and Jessicka looking alike is grasping at straws. I think Lynz and Alcia look more alike then anything.

I've seen some dumb things posted here, this is up there.

And, 8:42, no-one is "hating" on Jessicka. We are just wondering what a so-called feminist is doing hanging out with a bunch of racist, sexist morons like the MSI bunch.

Why not ask kapunua since she is the only one out of all of us who had any correspondence with her?

Anonymous said...

Exactly. Does this mean that Dita Von Teese is a racist, sexist, homophobic idiot because she is friends with Jessicka?

September 6, 2011 9:08 AM

Assuming Jessicka is a racist non feminist because she is friends with Lynz is the same as assuming Dita Von Teese is a racist, sexist, homophobic idiot because she is friends with Jessicka.

You could say Jared Leto is a violet misogynist because he is friends with Gerard Way.

Anonymous said...

9:16 AM

A lot of people "hate" on Jessicka for no reason here.

Anonymous said...

One photo does not a Single White Female make. This is a ridiculous topic.

Anonymous said...

Jessicka, we can see your're pissed because you were called out and exposed. Go troll somewhere else. No one here thinks you're anything better than the company you keep. And that means that woman-hating violent turd Gerard Way.

Pediegg made a statement:

http://www.kerrang.com/blog/2011/09/k_exclusive_michael_pedicone_s.html

Seems he had problems with one of the crew and tried to frame them, but it backfired. How nice and friendly MCR's little 'inner circle' is.

"I'd like to thank MCR's members, crew, and supporters for giving me some of the best musical experiences of my life in the past several months. However brief our partnership, it was an honour and a dream come true to play with such a talented bunch of individuals. I wish MCR the best of luck in the future, and I'm looking forward to my next endeavour.

Thank you, Michael Pedicone."

Some of us don't feel that way. Nice try with the single white female comment, troll. I believe kapunua already squashed this.

Notice Nobody comments on this, "You could say Jared Leto is a violet misogynist because he is friends with Gerard Way."

You should have the same rules for men as you do for women.

Anonymous said...

I have no fucking idea. Maybe Gerard walked him out on a lead.

Anonymous said...

10:19 AM

What's a lead?

Anonymous said...

Jared hasn't publicly defended his friend's sexism, has he? Jessicka has been made aware of the issues and still refuses to acceot they exist. That's the difference.

Anonymous said...

Like a dog lead.

Anonymous said...

Or leash.

Anonymous said...

There are much more interesting comments to make about Jessicka given how she's decided to side with a bunch of her racist friends than listen to reason, so drop the crap. Jessicka has shown herself to be a woman with little backbone for what she preaches on her twitter. She will have to live with that. Let her get on with her friendships with a load of people who mock rape and threaten to punch girls. She's welcome to them.

Anonymous said...

Deja vu here with that 'Jared Leto is just as bad!!!111!!!' troll. Give it a rest and backread what Jessicka said to Kap. It's not helping her any.

Anonymous said...

10:20 AM

Where has Jessicka publicly defended her friend's sexism? Quote, please? Jessicka has been made aware of the issues and neither you or I have any idea what she says to people behind closed doors. If she said some publicly then she'd be attacked by uneducated MCR and MSI fans and the point would become moot. I'm pretty sure Kap put this to rest. A few of you insist on having different rules for men then women when it comes to MCR and MSI associations.

The whole Single White Female thing was a ploy for you discredit this woman, troll.

I call bullshit.

Anonymous said...

Kap please clear this up, AGAIN.

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, didn't Kap tell us that she'd basically refused to admit her friend's shitty behavior was gross and sexist? When everyone can see that it is? That's defending it. It's minimizing it. It's trying to brush it under the carpet like some embarrassing secret you'd rather not talk about.

Jessicka fucked up, end of story.

Anonymous said...

Jessicka has been made aware of the issues and neither you or I have any idea what she says to people behind closed doors.

Maybe she says nothing to Mr #dieslow for fear of what he'd do back. Maybe Jessicka would become the next Pedicone: thrown to one side and cut out of the clique forever.

Anonymous said...

Yeah I know my friends worded something wrongly and sounded a little racist but what can I do? They're just my friends lol.

Anonymous said...

She told Kap she wanted to 'agree to disagree' and then wouldn't explain why she was disagreeing with the sexism/racism etc. She was basically saying she didn't think anything offensive had been said, which is defending it by being willfully ignorant. She knows full well why a man saying he wants to punch a woman and kill her is wrong. She's playing dumb and trying to save face.

Anonymous said...

Maybe she says nothing to Mr #dieslow for fear of what he'd do back. Maybe Jessicka would become the next Pedicone: thrown to one side and cut out of the clique forever.

My point is that none of knows what she says to any of them in private. This is all speculation. The only person that has ever had an interaction with this woman is Kap.

I'd never reprimand my friends publicly. I also wouldn't want my point twisted by the idiot Legions of Zombie Killjoys.

"Don't be mean to Gerard, He's so sassy!" "Fuck you, Bitch, dieslow"

How would that help, just to satisfy us ?

Anonymous said...

"Oh, Maybe Jessicka isn't a racist. Too bad she's getting death threats from Killjoys!" Oh well!"

Anonymous said...

didn't think anything offensive had been said, which is defending it by being willfully ignorant.

I don't agree, defending is defending.

Anonymous said...

Kap she wanted to 'agree to disagree'

Kap.
Did she ever say what you agreed to disagree about?

Anonymous said...

Jessicka doesn't hold back with her opinions unless the things she finds troubling are being displayed by her friends. Then it's another set of rules altogether.

The women is a hack and not a feminist as she claims.

Anonymous said...

The women is a hack and not a feminist as she claims.

That's your opinion, not mine.

Anonymous said...

Jessicka doesn't hold back with her opinions unless the things she finds troubling are being displayed by her friends. Then it's another set of rules altogether.

Maybe she just doesn't give a shit about Lynz's husbands band? She finds them as insignificant as the rest of the world. LOL!

Anonymous said...

Excuse me, her BEST FRIEND'S BAND is also promoting rape and child abuse and her best friend is also being a racist tool. She should care about that as a feminist, since she targets everyone else taking part in that shit.

I want to hear Jessicka's excuse for Panty Shot.

Anonymous said...

So Pedicone tried to make a crew member look bad but got kicked out for "stealing"? I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. I think there's more to this story then is being told to us.

I doubt we'll ever get the truth.

Anonymous said...

There is no excuse for Panty Shot. It is a sick song. Anyone who hangs with the people responsible is a dumbass IMO.

Anonymous said...

A dumbass, and someone who clearly doesn't have a problem with children being sexualized and child sexual abuse being trivialized.

Anonymous said...

"Trust no one"

Franks words to the crowd at MCR's first show since Pedicone got booted.

I'd say Frank's more pissed then anyone else.

I really feel for the new drummer. Wonder how long that poor sucker will last?

Anonymous said...

Review of MCR.

You get the sense watching these guys that this is a job, and though they appreciated where they were and the passion of the friendly all-ages crowd, they did not entirely want to be there. The group did move around, but showed little joy in doing so, and Way spat on a photographer for good measure. They may profess to hate the "emo" tag, but if they want to shake it, they might want to consider cracking a smile every so often, and at least pretend they enjoy their regurgitated music.

Anonymous said...

I don't care what Pedicone did to get fired. There is a proper way to handle things like this and MCR showed they are nothing more than children. How many times have we heard fans bark at us that "MCR doesn't owe us anything, just the music", bla bla bla. By that token they should have announced he was leaving and left it at that. So he made a mistake, we all do. Frank didn't have to publicly crucify him on their blog so that all the rabid fan girls could be unleashed on this guy via twitter. Not to mention that it was like a Public Service Announcement to every other band that he couldn't be trusted. I don't like Mike Pedicone, and his tweets were highly offensive at times, but no one deserves to be black listed in their community because of a mistake that should have been handled privately.

This seems to be MCR's m.o. though. They did the same thing to Brian, Worm, Eliza ect... Seems you can't be "friends" with this band unless your lips are constantly stuck to their ass.

Anonymous said...

Which is why halfwits like Jessicka Adams cower in fear for getting on their bad side. She doesn't want to be shut out.

Anonymous said...

Frank Iero writes in a blog post titled "Just the Facts," failing to specify whether Pedicone was busted for swiping money, equipment, or something else. "We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation," Iero continues. "The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to. We just want him out of our lives. The people who play in this band are a family, and family should not take advantage of each other like he did." .

Iero notes "this is the only time we are ever going to talk about this," so don't expect further comment from the band on the matter. He also promises the band is "currently moving forward" and they have -- MCR posted this note on Friday and played a show Saturday at Utah's USANA Amphitheatre with Dead Country drummer Jarrod Alexander, who is either a massive MCR fan or learned all the band's songs for a previous audition. Pedicone was the band's third drummer, following Bryar and original member Matt Pelissier..

An apologetic Pedicone tweeted a mea culpa Friday reading, "What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you. ... It was an error in judgment based on a whole other situation that's way deeper but this does not define me." That may be so, Michael, but it will define all the web searches associated with your name for the foreseeable future..

Oh, it's THAT troll again. Because, troll, I've commented on this every single time you've brought it up.

Every.

Single.

Time.

But because you trolls are stupid, here it is again:

I doubt that he is actual friends with them, any more than I am friends with Jared Leto. I met him a handful of times. He's nice to talk to, personable. That's about it.

I'm pretty sure that everything that Gerard Way does flies under Leto's radar. He probably doesn't pay too much attention to that dumbass's antics. I highly doubt he knows enough about him to be offended.

Or do you really believe that when rock bands are like "Oh yeah, we're pals" that they are actual besties and go clothes shopping together and sit around on their beds gossiping, and texting to each other all day? Is that the image you have in your head? That they hang out? Please.

kapunua said...

Thing one: My name isn't "Kap." Ka Punua is my Hawaiian name.

Thing two: I've been asked not to discuss in specifics what Jessicka and I emailed about. I made all the points I wanted to make. No, I am still not clear on why there isn't, and will probably never be a public "WOW, those songs are horrible and that is NOT what feminism sounds like" statement, at least from someone like Lindsey who claims to be a feminist. (Of note: SHE IS NOT. Lindsey calling herself a feminist is sort of like Anne Coulter calling herself a feminist.)

No, I'm not sure what we were actually disagreeing about, still. If Jessicka is taking the time to talk to her friend about those lyrics, and those very hateful, fat-phobic, judgmental, and sexist statements she's made in the past, then that's great. I truly hope she is! It's hard to stand up to your friends. Harder still to do it in public.

Me? I could not stand to be close friends with someone who used that kind of oppressive, violent language and had that sort of mindset. I wouldn't have the time to "change" them because you can't really change people that much.

With that said, hey, maybe she will make a dent in the thick heads of those people. And if so, then I'd love to see some sort of statement about how, you know, PANTY SHOT IS NOT THE WORK OF FEMINISTS. And neither are any of their other "songs."

Anonymous said...

kapunua you must agree then that the whole Jessicka and Lynz look alike bullshit is the work of the same said troll?

To anyone who had followed my Missing Bird Saga during and after the hurricane, I just want to let you know that a few days ago, all 3 birds were accounted for and in good shape. :D The one I was most worried about--a redwing blackbird named Reid--finally showed up after more than a week of being missing. He was kind of my special baby this year, and I was really worried that something had happened to him during Irene. But there he was, chilling out with a bunch of grackles and robins, eating the mealworms I'd put out for them.

So yay, happy ending! :)

Frank Iero writes in a blog post titled "Just the Facts," failing to specify whether Pedicone was busted for swiping money, equipment,I think it was the way they went about it,like when Ray cried about the writer that said he had love handles over twitter so the fans could mob the poor guy.

kapunua said...

I found a really cool article that sums up how I feel about the whole "lookism" thing.

You don't owe prettiness to anyone. Not to your boyfriend/spouse/partner, not to your co-workers, especially not to random men on the street. You don't owe it to your mother, you don't owe it to your children, you don't owe it to civilization in general. Prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked "female".

I'm not saying that you SHOULDN'T be pretty if you want to. (You don't owe UN-prettiness to feminism, in other words.) Pretty is pleasant, and fun, and satisfying, and makes people smile, often even at you. But in the hierarchy of importance, pretty stands several rungs down from happy, is way below healthy, and if done as a penance, or an obligation, can be so far away from independent that you may have to squint really hard to see it in the haze.

It goes on about wearing whatever the hell you want, etc. Some good points in there.

Anonymous said...

Some of us still hate Pedicone for his gross rape jokes, and aren't feeling too sorry for him right now. Doesn't mean we can't think what Frank did was as petty and shitty as what Pedicone did himself.

kapunua said...

They all seem to be fairly rotten people all around. So when they screw each other over, I am neither surprised nor sympathetic to any of them.

Why am I not surprised by the fact that some of you have no problem with M. Pedicone trying to set up an innocent person for something they didn't do.

Why am I not surprised that the MCR defenders are coming here to accuse us of doing/saying things we haven't?

Nobody here has excused anything that Pedicone did. I personally can't stand the guy. If you look back and, you know, actually read our comments, you'll see that what we have been criticizing is MCR's handling of the issue, and nobody has defended Pedicone. It was a dick move to throw Pedicone to the MCR wolves, regardless of what he did. That's really all we've been saying.

Hocking said...

Actually if you go to diffrent places in the MCR fandom a lot of them are saying that Frank coukld have handled it diffrently

Hey guys, and thanks. Reid is doing great.

However, last night we had another big storm. SOmehow, the neighbor's outdoor cat ripped through the bottom of my aviary door and kill all of my remaining birds. There were three. Two were non-releasable, one of which I've had for 4 years, in perfect peace, as a surrogate to all the babies. One as a beautiful fledgling robin that I was going to release today.

I'm so completely devastated. I've never had anything like this happen in all the years I've been raising birds. I just want this cat gone, forever!!

3:04, so, sorry, I haven't heard of him. Any good?

This is the end. Sorry, but AFI is done.
After more than 15 years of being together, we as a band have decided to disband A.F.I.

Me and Jade will still continue the Blaqk Audio project but there will be no more A.F.I albums or shows. We have matured and have other things in life that we would like to attend to. Please forgive us for the random statement but it was something we were thinking of for a while.

We will post a more detailed statement soon, keep your eyes peeled!

So sorry about your birds, Kapu. That is a terrible shame. I don't know if it would help any, but I would consider speaking to your neighbors about what their cat has done. In the very least, that it broke through your aviary. Maybe they can keep the cat inside some nights. I hope you do not give up on your pastime because of this. There are always birds in need of some help. Sorry for your loss.

kapunua said...

Thanks, guys, very much. I don't know which neighbor owns this cat. And either way, it's going to a shelter. It's still in the aviary and won't budge. This big, nasty, growling cat just sitting there after having eaten all my birds. It's also covered in scratches, either from digging its way into the aviary, or from the birds fighting back, or from having fights with other cats.

I've got a hav-a-hart trap in there with some cat food in it. The second I catch it, its going to the local shelter.

Okay, I had to take a look at that link. This is the one thing that's brought a smile to my face today.

Guys, just take a look at the posts from MCR's fans going nuts down there. Not only taking it seriously, but getting defensive and violent (as they always do).

Seriously. What a bunch of idiots. I'll bet this band is so proud right now.

Okay, first of all we MCRmy members are not a cult and hate to be called a cult. Secondly They save people more then your ‘God’ does. Have you even took the time to actually LISTEN to the lyrics? For most people they cut themselves because of there own reason, not because of a band. People don’t kill themselves because of MCR’s music, that music STOPPED them from killing themselves. so SHUT UP until you get all the facts. They are saviors so take that and shove it up your

Lynn said...

What get me is that they don't know that it is a satire. They are going on and on about how Gerard's name isn't Jerold Wu. LOL!

Anonymous said...

You realize you are merely mocking ignorant kids. I personally don't find it amusing that they are severely missing the point. I see nothing to laugh at. They are defending people they believe in. Wether or not I agree with WHO they believe in, is beside the point. Those kids are only doing what they think they should be doing, defending their heros. I really don't understand how that is so amusing to some of you. Mock their heros all you like, but the kids don't know any better. It's cheap and low to laugh at ignorant people.

kapunua said...

See the thing is, if they were just defending them, that would be one thing. But they're like rabid ferrets on the attack. Did you notice all the misogynistic, hateful, violent talk that goes into their "defense?" Telling people to get raped, to "suck it" telling them they should die/ To "die slow?" I wonder where that comes from?

That's not "defending their heroes," that's just mindlessly attacking and using oppressive, hateful speech.

And, yes, being utterly stupid. I was a teenager once, and I could laugh at satire, even if it was aimed at something I enjoyed.

Lynn said...

You realize you are merely mocking ignorant kids. I personally don't find it amusing that they are severely missing the point. I see nothing to laugh at.

Lynn said...

Telling people to get raped, to "suck it" telling them they should die/ To "die slow?" I wonder where that comes from?

Exactly. But i guess thats ok seeing as they are just defending their heros.

Anonymous said...

Don't be so self righteous 8:35. What if there are people that consider through their own ignorance that the music of their idols are evil and leading them down the wrong path?what do you consider the avalanche of abuse by their so -called defenders? Do you think it's appropriate? Or do you simply make excuses for their very vocal ignorance?

Anonymous said...

Those numbskulls from MSI must be seething in jealousy that Jerald and Mikey Wu (lol!) are given so much attention. They could only wish to get that much attention for themselves. The fact that they don't shows how boring and pointless they are. Calling themselves Mindless is certainly a very apt description.

Anonymous said...

From now on I will always associate GW as Jerald Wu. Ha!

Anonymous said...

I don't view the article or the ensuing comments appropriate, 9:38. I don't feel making excuses, mocking or tolerating ignorance is appropriate, either.

The fans behavior is replusive. But mocking them for it doesn't help anything. Nor does it change their mindset. In fact laughing at them or challenging them (by insulting their band or telling them they are stupid, etc) only seems to anger and encourage that kind of ignorant behavior.

They're simply following the behavior they think MCR/MSI wants them too now.

The only way (IMO) to change that, or overcome it is by explaining to them calmly, and not aggressively (as they do to us) why they are wrong in that behavior. I don't see how calling them on their stupid or oppresive behavior helps any, UNLESS someone is willing to calmly and without oppresive language back, explain the better way to be. And simply telling them they shouldn't be fans of either of those bands isn't going to help either. It seems on this blog some days, there is more desire to mock people who behave like that, than there is to help change them (by telling them the truth of the matter).

Implying I am a fangirl doesn't change things, either. This blog used to have more purpose.

Anonymous said...

I find you very idealistic 1:26 and don't agree with you. People only listen to sense when they are prepared to listen and talking calmly and reasonably will do nothing for people who see things only one way. If we were to extend your logic then everyone would have no disagreements and there would be no wars if people spoke calmly and rationally to each other.

As for no purpose to the blog wasn't the whole purpose for it's existence for people like us to discuss what we wanted to talk about not dissuade people from following who they want to follow?

Anonymous said...

And yet any hint of an unpopular opinion, or the offchance that someone disagrees, and that person is "politely" sent to the wolves. As the fansheep do to the unpopular opinion's shared on their sites. No one can see this similarity?

So, because it's idealistic to TRY and get others to see reason, then there is utterly no point in it at all? So I am idealistic. And you seem harsh and cold. People don't all deserve to be given up on because they simply don't know any better. If that were the case, there would be no one left in the world unscathed or worth the effort. No one is perfect, without mistakes or misunderstandings, or lack of knowledge to make the best decision in the first instance. I think you live in too dark a reality.

Anonymous said...

Harsh and cold huh? I call it pragmatism. Ever heard of that word 4:22? Does it exist in your vocabulary? I suppose not. And if you can't handle having someone argue back, what's the point of stating your opinion in the first place.

Anonymous said...

No one is running you off this blog 4:22 they are expressing their opinion as you are expressing yours.

Anonymous said...

You are so annoying, 4.22.

Anonymous said...

4:22, I also believe that people shouldn't be given up on easily, but when it comes to the "MCRmy" I have given up. They cannot be reasoned with no matter how patient you are. They just refuse to listen or resort to threats. It's like they have one brain which they share together.

kapunua said...

Racism or Tribal rights?

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — One of the nation's largest American Indian tribes has sent letters to about 2,800 descendants of slaves once owned by its members, revoking their citizenship and cutting their medical care, food stipends, low-income homeowners' assistance and other services.
The Cherokee Nation acted this week after its Supreme Court upheld the results of a 2007 special vote to amend the Cherokee constitution and remove the slaves' descendants and other non-Indians from tribal rolls. The 300,000-member tribe is the biggest in Oklahoma, although many of its members live elsewhere.
Olive Anderson, 70, of Kansas City, Mo., called the letter she received "a slap in the face."
"It tears me up to think they can attack my ancestors," Anderson said.
The tribe never owned black slaves, but some individual members did. They were freed after the Civil War, in which the tribe allied with the Confederacy. An 1866 treaty between the tribe and the federal government gave the freedmen and their descendants "all the rights of native Cherokees."
But more than 76 percent of Cherokee voters approved the amendment stripping the descendants of their citizenship. Tribal leaders who backed the amendment, including then-Principal Chief Chad Smith, said the vote was about the fundamental right of every government to determine its citizens, not about racial exclusion.

I've expressed an opinion on here that's been different from others-e.g, the famous LynZ and the Tsunami comment.

I suppose you can find an excuse for MSI's use of the N word being 'taken out of context' too.

Anonymous said...

"It's a red man, black man issue just like it's a white man, black man issue," said Raymond Nash, 64, of Nowata. "It's embarrassing, really. It should have been over a long time ago."

"I've consistently supported the Cherokee Nation's right to determine their own national identity," he said Friday. "Cherokees say this: We don't care what you look like, as long as you've got Cherokee blood. It's about identity and self-governance."

said Marilyn Vann, president of the Descendants of Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes. "The attitude is more like, 'We can't put them in chains, so we'll do anything we can to take away their rights.' It's a matter of racism and politics."

Isn't this the reasoning that started the American Civil war? The Confederate states decision to self govern without interference from the federal government.

"I respect the decision of the Cherokee people and believe fully in our right to self-govern."

She was joking about touring a country just hit by a terrible disaster and then said 'who cares?' I don't think any of us took what she said out of context, but I think you are trying to bend it into a positive context to try and defend her. I still don't see what's funny, harmless or not offensive about 'Fuck the tsunami. Who cares?' It's like saying 'Fuck the famine. Who cares?' or 'Fuck 9/11. Who cares?'. It's gross and uncalled for.

Anonymous said...

What do you think about the decision of the Cherokee Nation 9:12? Do you their comments and their decision to cut off descendants of black slaves from all tribal support is racism?

Anonymous said...

You realize you are merely mocking ignorant kids.

Kids who use racist slurs, death threats, etc. go beyond just being "ignorant kids". This kind of mindset is dangerous and should not be tolerated, whatever the age of the person who possesses it. These so-called ignorant kids will grow up to be ignorant adults soon enough, and they will continue to spread their hate-filled messages on the internet and in real life. One day, they might get their heads bashed in by someone who shares their violent tendencies, or they might wind up in jail for following through with one of their threats. I think having some fun poked at them is the least of their problems.

kapunua said...

If I can chime in here as a part Cherokee who never was able to get onto the Dawes rolls: It's not too surprising. When they closed the rolls ages ago, it was mostly because they were out of funds for people living on reservations.

I'm not saying it's right, but what I am saying is that as someone mostly white, who has never had to live on a reservation (I have an amount of white privilege that they don't,) it's really not my call to say whether they should or shouldn't. It's self-actualization. It's not my laws, it's theirs.

Idealistic said...

I left three comments here last night. Three. I am not the other anon from today speaking woe and making excuses. But I sure do appreciate how everyone assumed that was me, and/or some troll (in reference to driving and penis' -I have no idea what you are talking about) and thus had great reason to invalidate what I was trying to say last night. That's very charming guys, thank you.

As for 9:57 AM, I agree completely with you on how these kids will turn out -IF all we do is mock them, and do nothing to try and reason with them, or get them on a better path. Why can no one understand that that is all I want? That's all I'm asking for. I don't feel having a bit of hope in some lost causes makes me a lower person. Or an overzealously idealistic person. Or a troll.

But do me a favor guys, don't be trolls back to me and put fake (and terrible) opinions into my mouth. I said nothing in defense of LynZ, MSI or MCR. I was speaking of the fans. And I wasn't aggresively thrown to the wolves in regards to MY comments. I was making an observation about how MOST differing opinions are treated here. However, given the insuing comments AT ME- (as you all assumed so wrongly) I believe you proved my observation true. That doesn't feel like a victory, it still feels like a loss.

I didn't insult or call any of you names to try and make my points either. The common vocabulary here may be better, but the common behavior doesn't differ much from the fansites some days. It would be nice to be able to have a real conversation with some of you, but I'm not going to mindlessly agree with the majority to have it. There would be no point in that either.

kapunua said...

You came in here all histrionic and "won't anyone think of the children" and you never did bother to address the abusive, violent language they're using. You went on to say that we were using "oppressive language" toward them, which leads me to believe that you don't know what "oppressive language" means. Please do your homework before throwing around accusations like that.

But yeah, mostly it was/is your hysteria and "OMG poor me, I said something different and you THREW ME TO THE WOLVES, WOE!" that is beyond silly.

Anonymous said...

The common vocabulary here may be better, but the common behavior doesn't differ much from the fansites some days

There you go again with the over exaggerating. No one here is telling you to leave or change your opinion, most of us just don't agree with you.

Anonymous said...

And where was anyone calling you names? Being described as idealistic is hardly a slur.

Anonymous said...

Kapunua, I wasn't hysterical. I'd made an observation. I thought that was obvious. Apparently not.

And I did say, very clearly that the kids behavior was WRONG. I said that. Why would I want to help them, if I so agreed with them, Kapunua? What would be the point of my even saying a word, if I didn't find something wrong with their behavior? Why do you have to twist what I am trying to say, like I am attacking you with my own opinion? I don't like how people laugh at the kids bad behavior. Why is that so hard to believe? And I don't like how they are so easy to write off as people. Every time I try to reason here, and generally it is about the young fans, I get treated like I am incompetent or trolling. I don't appreciate it. And I do find it sad that I cannot generally find one person who is willing to TRY and understand what I am saying. And I'm not claiming to be so important as to deserve a shred of respect toward my opinions, I would simply appreciate the opportunity to be heard, without the insults.

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, 4:03, 4:02 -I can read as well as you can. Go back and read what was said to the other anon(s) trying to agree with my comments.

Idealistic isn't a slur, I agree. In fact I found it to be more of a compliment than anything. But I wasn't refering to that. I can't see how that wasn't clear.
