Siobhan she quoted a proverb that goes along a similar line of "a mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses." As for quoter maybe she was referring to the creator of Faust Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe though I don't think the quote originally emanated from him.

I know the proverb and I know that it is by Goethe and that she meant him. I just thought that if you want to appear profound by quoting someone you should at least write their name correctly.
Still, I had to answer that tweet and said to her that I guess that she seems to have found out that she's neither feminist, anti-racism and anti-violence against women then.

But in the end it came down to, "I'm not deflecting, I'm just choosing my battles. Let's agree to disagree."

What does she mean with choosing her battles? Isn't this her battle as a so-called feminist? What exactly did she say about MSI or even Gerard? Did she have an excuse/explanation?

You can say that again!

She will not say anything against her friends Kapunua. I expected as much.

It sounds like someone with one rule for their friends and another for others that they decide to battle with. I always thought that if you are passionate about what you claim to strongly believe in, you don't have grey areas.

Anonymous said...

Kapunua it's interesting that she didn't argue with you about the lyrics and came out with the 'agree to disagree' rhetoric because she probably knew she couldn't credibly defend them.

Anonymous said...

The big question is why do those people try to make themselves out to be something they're clearly not? Why do they have to call themselves feminists or anti-racist, anti-homophobic? It's not as if there are MSI fans who would care. From what I could see on their fan forums their fans are just as sick-minded as them. They mostly don't even listen to the lyrics or at least don't reflect on them.
I don't understand why Gerard still goes on with trying to make himself look like someone who cares for women's rights and is against sexism when you could clearly see that his female fans couldn't care less. You might think that if he would try to educate his fans on something that they would have the brain capacity to effectuate what they had learned by calling him out on his behavior when the self-proclaimed feminist himself said that he is not afraid to call someone the c-word.
It just shows that they don't listen/are too stupid to understand and he is a liar/hypocrite and gets violent if someone calls him out on the things he himself condemns.

Anonymous said...

Why do they have to call themselves feminists or anti-racist, anti-homophobic?

Because it gives a positive spin to what you're trying to sell and gives people the 'feel good factor'? It similar to companies that green wash their products to make them more appealing to the consumer as they know through their marketing research that's what people are turning to.

Anonymous said...

If MCR's female fans truly believed in themselves and see themselves as deserving respect and equality they would not condone their outbursts or justify them.

Yes, I know that, but in the case of MSI they've never been mainstream, so apart from their fans there actually was nothing to prove to the mainstream media to not give them a bad reputation or condemn them publically for the discriminatory nature of their 'music'. There was no use in claiming to be those things because there were no interviews to make parents of kids believe that it's okay for them to allow their kids to listen to them. They are underground and thus nobody cared.

As to Gerard; if he or even the management would still try to give them a good image by using those anti-misogynist ramblings as a marketing ploy, they would monitor their Twitter profiles much better and advise them to not tweet the things they do. So what's the point?
The people who - as back then - would appreciate their music also for believing in their feminist image would not put up with that coat hanger tweet or Gerard threatening to call people cunt or smash their face.
So, who is he still preaching to? Clearly not to the fans he has now because they clearly don't care anymore like we did.

Anonymous said...

The ridiculous thing is that it's MCR fans defending these idiots not the MSI fans, they wouldn't care less.

Maybe it's because through the MCR marriage they were no longer underground and are actually getting criticized for their lyrics when they weren't in the past.

Who are the bulk of fans that Jessicka and LynZ speak with: MCR fans.

Anonymous said...

LynZ even follows MCR fans on her tweeter account. Where are all her MSI fans?

Anonymous said...

If MCR's female fans truly believed in themselves and see themselves as deserving respect and equality they would not condone their outbursts or justify them.

The sad thing is that most of them claim that MCR saved their lives and I'm sure that many of those girls had to go through times of severe abuse and neglect and they think that MCR are helping them when they don't seem to notice that they're being abused by them as well.

kapunua said...

Siobhan, basically she "defended" them by saying that they deserved to be treated like humans, and that people always picked on them because they got married, because they had so many haters, etc. She never did address the actual sexism and racism.

This all got onto my Tumblr and someone else asked me what she said etc. This is what I answered on my Tumblr, and it's basically what happened:

She was very nice and respectful, no name-calling or anything, like most of their other supporters.

She told me to concentrate my energies on bigger sexists and racists, like Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin etc. I said that I get that a lot: “Leave MY sexist/racist/homophobe alone. Concentrate on taking down other sexists/racists/homophobes.” Why can’t I do both?

I said that it was dangerous to promote oppressive language like that, and especially if you’re doing so under the flag of feminism. “Bitch, whore, c*nt, get on your knees, moan for me because you’ll be doing this all your lives, not afraid to call a 16 year old girl a c***, five year old panty shot, ect. Oh by the way, this is what feminism sounds and acts like.” Umm, NO. At least with the conservatives, they’re not lying about it; you can see them coming.

She said that she wasn’t trying to deflect, but that we should agree to disagree.

I said, sure, but I’m not clear on what we’re disagreeing on. Those lyrics exist, right? Those actions took place. It’s not all right to treat women in that way. You *can* talk to your friends about their oppressive language, actions and their promotion of rape culture. What, exactly, are we disagreeing on?
...

Basically I was trying to say that if you DO want women to be treated like human beings and not objects, but your rock star friends are making huge, massive contributions to rape culture, it kind of is your duty to say something to them. You have to walk the walk.

So yeah, she was very polite, but in the end I’m still not sure what we’re “agreeing to disagree” about.

Anonymous said...

She sounds like those idiots who come here from time to time and ask us why were not on Chris Brown fan forums etc. and don't get it in their pea brains that we are able to do a lot of things and don't only concentrate on MCR when it comes to misogyny or discrimination in general.

Anonymous said...

Kapunua, since I can't reblog your answers is it okay if I would take a screen shot of your latest post and put it on my blog to add my comment?

kapunua said...

Well, that's what I always think too, and what I said. I actually even mentioned Chris Brown. "Can't I speak out against both?" Just because I'm against committing violence against women doesn't mean I'm going to ignore promoting violence against women. Isn't it more likely that I'll speak out on both?

IDGI.

Anonymous said...

You know, I read your post about your e-mail convo with her and I've been in the exact same place as you. I even talked about this here a while ago. There was a girl in my life who I thought would be a good friend until she started yapping about lesbians and that they actually don't exist and that lesbians are girls and women who just haven't found the right man yet.
I mean, honestly, how can you stay friends with such a moron? I was so outraged. The thing is that if you have certain moral values then how can you be a friend of someone who declares the complete opposite and meet this person or talk to that person without thinking of the total bullshit they believe in? I couldn't deal with that. Everytime I would see that person I would think s/he thinks men are superior to women, lesbians do not exist, gay people shouldn't be allowed to marry, child molesting and rape is so funny etc.
I just couldn't be with this person anymore.

Why am I not suprised that she came out with some classic derailing tactics to try and 'explain' herself?

http://www.derailingfordummies.com/#moreimportantly

"As with the best of all these techniques, this step operates on several levels. First of all, it communicates to the Marginalised Person™ that you think the entire debate is trivial and below consideration, indicating you entirely disregard their feelings and emotions. Secondly, you disown responsibility for your part in the debate and anything that you've said that may have been discriminatory or offensive.

Finally, you reinforce your Privilege® by suggesting that it is Privileged People's® job to set the agenda for the Marginalised Group™. After all, how could they possibly know what issues they should prioritise for themselves, they're far too inferior and stupid! You, with your objective, ractional Privileged® perspective, on the other hand, know exactly what is most important and it is definitely not confronting you with your own bigotry and ignorance!"

She just wants to keep cosy with the Ways for the attention and D-list status it gets her. Let's see if she's still hanging on like a limpet when G-fart actually smashes a woman's face. She'll probably be in court saying the woman 'deserved it' or 'should be concerned with the men actually killing women'.

What a joke.

Anonymous said...

Jessicka clearly doesn't mind rape and violence against women and racism and all the 'nice' stuff her friends do. Passive activism ahoy. If she cared about making a change she'd talk to her friends and explain to them why what they do and make money off is so fucked up. I mean, 'five year old panty shot'? I'm sure in Jessicka's world that sort of thing is just fine as long as it's for 'art'.

Anonymous said...

I guess all the 'how do you know she doesn't try and get them to change?!' questions directed at us re; Jessicka can now be put to rest. She has a moral scale on what she will and will not call out and I guess blatant public threats of violence from a man to a woman when thousands of impressionable young teenage girls are reading (and then defending) aren't anything of concern, but call someone 'a bit on the chunky side' and she's on a mission for your head!

Hey Jess, maybe next time your BFF Gerard is threatening to pound a women's face with his fists, you could perhaps step in and call him an asshole? Or maybe you could just look the other way and comb your fingers through your hair like his wife does.

Feminists my ass.

kapunua said...

Siobhan, we've been in similar situations, then. In my experience, you can only talk about things so much. Eventually, if the other person isn't getting it, then it's time to cut your losses. That hurts like hell, but, GOD, it's more unbearable to be around people like that. I dated a guy once who ended up being such a racist, homophobic tool. He thought he was the nicest guy ever. He acted like he was, up until the one day when it all came out. ANd that was the end. I cut my losses. And it ended up not being such a huge loss after all. :/

I have to give Jessicka props for hearing me out and treating me with respect, not going on the defensive or the offensive. I really can't betray the confidence of email to explain it, but I have to hope that she's trying to make a breakthrough and perhaps be a good influence. I dunno. Maybe?

I also did explain that in the many cases where people have called Lindsey out on their lyrics, and her husband's BS, and their actions, those people have basically been told to "suck it" and such. I did mention about Lindsey's "chip eaters" and "fat kids hate me" remarks.

I realize you can't control your friends. I'm the kind of person who walks away from folks like that, because I just can't take that kind of hate. You can only try for so long.

I also said that I hoped one day we'd maybe get some sort of acknowledgement that those lyrics, and those words and actions, are not those of feminists. That they're hateful and wrong. An apology or something. Doubtful, for sure. But you never know.

I think that the world is changing for the better, and MSI and them are still in 1986. You either change with the world or you get left behind.

Anonymous said...

Jessicka is too busy sucking Gerard's ego's dick to talk to him or his skank racist wife about anything important like DV, rape, child abuse, or anything else that couple promote with their 'art'.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Jessicka would be the one getting a #smashedface if she picked the wrong time to confront him or his wife about their shit? Maybe she's scared of him and what he might do.

Anonymous said...

Kap, you are aware that if what you've conveyed to us about her email is true, Jessicka just admitted that she knows Gerard/Lindsey/MSI/MCR are a load of racist, sexist misogynist pigs, but that they're okay because they're not Sarah Palin?

Jesus fucking wept this woman is a good troll.

kapunua said...

See, talk like that doesn't help, anon. It's also hypersexualized and totally unnecessary.

With that said, I want to say something about men who threaten violence against random women the way Gerard did. It would be easy for me to say, "Oh, like a weed like him would ever have the guts to hit a woman." But, it doesn't take bravery or guts to hit someone; it just takes that loss of control. I don't know the guy. All I know is that it seems like he's got a ton of rage and hate.

kapunua said...

Actually, she never once said she was aware of it. There's a lot of careful talk here and I'm trying to be careful, too, because emails are private. And when I said "Stop picking on MY racist," those were my words, and not hers. I'm just saying, I get that a lot.

But at any rate, I said my piece, and I really hope that something will change.

Anonymous said...

All I know is that it seems like he's got a ton of rage and hate.

Let's just hope he hits a wall and not a woman.

For some reason I think Jessicka could take Gerard. I doubt she's scared of him. Who would be?

Anonymous said...

kapunua I'm so curious. Without giving away too much of what her emails said. What do you think Of Jessicka now?

Me. I still think she's full of shit.

Anonymous said...

Someone who doesn't want to lose her D-list fame that being Gerard's wife's friend brings her. She won't put a foot wrong with him because she depends on him for attention. As for her 'they deserve to be treated like humans' bullshit. No. They don't deserve anything apart from contempt until they show they can change by apologizing for their racism, sexism, and misogyny. But we all know they'd rather just lay around in their crouton mansion congratulating themselves on being masters of the universe.

kapunua said...

Anyone is frightening enough when they're off their rocker. Even the smallest, weakest person can do damage if they lose their crap. I'm not assuming that this particular douchebag would act on his words - I don't know him. All I'm saying is that he shouldn't be even saying those things in the first place.

Anonymous said...

Poor little lamb Lindsey! You poor little lamb. You deserve to be treated like a human? Maybe you shoul apologize for Panty Shot and 'Fuck the tsunami'. Then we'll treat you better.

Fucking idiot.

Anonymous said...

She must have been aware of MSI's lyrics before someone pointed them out to her. As if people who are in bands don't check out what kind of music either of them are making. I don't think that Jessicka just listened to one of MSI's songs for a few seconds on Lindsey's iPod and then said 'Oh, nice.' and that was it. Don't they know each other for some years? I bet that they've seen each other on stage.
I also think that nobody would really care that much about this woman if it wouldn't be for her connection to Lindsey and Gerard (MCR), respectively.
I think that they both know that through Gerard they can get to know a lot of famous people who could be potential promoters of their 'art' and thus get known better and can charge a higher price for their stuff.

Anonymous said...

Aww, Lindsey. It's got nothing to do with who you married, and everything to do with the fact that you're a BIG FUCKING RACIST!

kapunua said...

Re: Jessicka and what I think of her? Well, I was pretty unaware of her before this; she was just a name I'd heard bandied about, here and on Tumblr, and mostly in a negative light. E.G. "She says she's a feminist but she never speaks out against her sexist friends."

I'm a tad more aware of her and her situation, and I know it's difficult to speak out against your friends, especially in public. That's terrifying, and she's human. *I* do it. I've spoken out to my friends in public, and it got me a ton of grief.

I hope she would say something in private at some point, and I hope they would listen to her. Maybe, maybe she will be able to make a dent. Fighting this kind of established and ingrained misogyny is a long process. We all know someone who is a misogynist or a racist, and we're all put into that awkward social position at some point, I think. Everyone deals with it differently.

So I hope that she's trying.

As far as personally, she was nice to me, and respectful, when she could have come at me with a chip on her shoulder, hugely defensive.

I still don't know that much about her, as in, what she does, or who she really is or anything like that. I just know that she's got the ear of a certain contingent of people, and I hope she uses it, and can undo some of the damage done by these chest-beating rock stars.

Anonymous said...

How can Jessicka not be aware of MSI's music? I believe she is aware of it and everything stupid Gerard has ever said/done. She just chooses to ignore it because it makes life easier for her.

She is not a feminist, not by a long shot. She probably thinks she is when she tweets something "inspirational" now and then, but that s*** doesn't mean anything when she gets all friendly with her MSI buddies.

Still, it seems as if this discussion might as well not have taken place at all since we're none the wiser now. The way you describe it she was polite but actually acted like a fish who's difficult to grab. She seems to be a master in deflecting and derailing.

For some reason I think they behave in such a childish way to deal with their rage when they've been called out on their lies and hypocrisy.

Lindsey: Oh, please, show me her mails.
Jessicka: Okay, here.
L: O-M-G. Is that chip eater for real?? It's art!
J: I know, right?! They just don't get it.
Gerard: Where's the beer?

Well, we can hope.

kapunua said...

Do you guys remember this one? I think it's from 1995 or so. It was Bobby Miller's spoken word that he did on Pearl Jam's Self-Pollution radio.

Bobby Miller - Keep Your Mouth off My Sisters

"This is dedicated to all the women who walk any street in our country. It's called Keep Your Mouth off my Sisters.

Sometimes you begin to wonder if it's a conspiracy of men asleep at the wheel the way they spit out words at women they don't even know - that they will never know. And it scares me to think that compared to the things they say, what must be going on inside their brains? And I wanna scream at them: "Hey keep your mouth off my sisters, your words cause emotional blisters!"

Did something happen at birth to cause this malfunction or did they learn it, or earn it in some archaic male ritual like; the medals of war, a gold ribbon for the best line; Are you daddy's little girl? Let me tear that pussy up! Ever had a tongue bath baby!? What's the matter bitch, you a dyke?

Years spent vomiting out abuse at women and men still don't get it? I wanna bend each one of them over and fuck the misogyny out of them. To wash their mouths out with my dick and let them feel the collective humiliation of women everywhere.

To be unable to walk the streets safely without feeling like; "This weeks special: Pussy on a plate served up fresh and piping hot! - oh yum and give me a six pack to wash it out." Oh you're the man, Man, you're the big Man, man, men.

Ever notice there is always two of them? They are never alone; like a cowards tag team match of sexual harassment.

Hey men, does it make you feel like a man?

Hey men, keep your mouth off my sisters!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for that Kapuna. I wish all men would adopt that attitude.

By the time their daughter has hit puberty and will most likely have to deal with all kinds of sexist shit they will start thinking differently. Although, I already had to deal with idiots who couldn't keep their hands to themselves in kindergarten and elementary shool, so maybe they will be forced to rethink much earlier than that.

I am actually surprised that she said something like. Considering these are people in their mid thirties and she rationalizes the reason her friend is disliked so much is attributable to her choice of husband. Not very objective or mature way to think considering the body of work her friend had behind her.

So I have to share this:

I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 76).

We decided to grab a bite at the food court.

I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.

The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green, red,

orange, and blue.

My dad kept staring at her.

The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time.

When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked:

"What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"

Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not

choke on his response; I knew he would have a good one!

In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid ....

"Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if

you might be my kid."

this was sent to me by my dad

It's called Pink Aqua Dress and it's by The Left Rights (half of MSI), distributed on 'Uppity Cracker' records (geddit? So classy and totally not racist at all *rolls eyes*). A sample of the delightful lyrical content:

"Hey, Mr Afro-negro, what you doin' there?"

BONUS for additional child rape/molestation/incest joke:

"Hey Dad, you gotta come up this way and feel my boobies"

Now try and play down this one, Jessicka. We all know you lurk here and get bent out of shape about what we say. Maybe if you told your friends that the above racism and sexualization of children doesn't fly, they'd dump you from their little group and your life would improve dramatically. I hope you make the decision before the shit hits the fan for you and your 'feminism' when Gerard actually makes good on one of his violent threats towards women.

Oh man, she totally lurks here. Remember months ago when we called her out here on her association with proud racists and sexists, and then we had that 'anon' getting really pissy and defending her reputation? And fuck you dirty like a dark Jedi can

Obi Wan never told you and that just makes me harder
Girl, I am your father

When last we met, I was the catcher; Now I am the pitcher
I find your lack of pubic hair disturbing
I haven't felt this alive since Tatooine, the first time
Sister? You have a sister?

They have a song called 'Young Black and Constipated'.

Anonymous said...

You wouldn't think it could get worse, and then it does.

Why the fuck is Jessicka friends with these people? It makes me wonder if she's not the kind of person who makes racist/rape jokes herself. You are what you hang with.

kapunua said...

WTMFF? I don't even have actual words. I want to ask things like "how can people even listen to that" and "how is that okay" which it clearly isn't.

I guess what I really wonder is, why? What is the point of that? Is it solely to be offensive and to hurt people?

Anonymous said...

Basically it's case of 'let's joke about and mock sensitive things because we're not the victims of any of them on a daily basis'. It's a bunch of bullies showing off and trying to offend. Isn't Steve Righ? a dad, too? I just worry about children growing up around the sort of people who think joking about pedophiles and fathers raping their daughters is acceptable.

kapunua said...

It's so clear that they come from a place of privilege and that they abuse their privilege to an insane degree.

Just, why? IDGI. That stuff isn't even funny. It's just dumb and pointlessly offensive.

Anonymous said...

WTF? I mean, a human being actually thought up that shit, wrote it down, and then recorded it?

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near someone like that, let alone friends with them.

I think Gerard's been reading Twilight, that's how he's coming up with the "I'm so protective of my girl" crap. He probably wants to come across as the emo Edward Cullen.

No new Mayo post. A few of the regulars are still around.

Kapunua some people have principles and live by them, others claim to have them and don't. I don't respect the person you spoke with.

Anonymous said...

I have to say, in defense of Jessicka, I've personally only heard one song of MSI's. And that was only because it was linked on an MCR site. Maybe she hasn't heard any of the music properly? The song I heard had so much irritating noise in it, I could barely make out the lyrics. I googled them, to be honest. But I would think though, considering how much flack she has gotten now from associating with MSI, that she would really desire to have a sit down and listen hard to what they have put out into the world. To what she is (in a way) defending. From her replies though, I don't think she's ever actually heard any of their music. I think her loyalty isn't so much to that band, but to Lindsey personally.

Anonymous said...

4:53 PM

I must agree. It seems from her tweets that she's not a fan of either MSI's or MCR's music.

Is this true Kapuna?

4:53 said...

Thank you for not accusing me of being a fangirl, 5:23. I appreciate that.

Anonymous said...

I don't really see how you can be such close personal friends with someone who is a "musician" (I use that term lightly) and not know what kind of music they make. Surely Jessicka has listened to her friend Lindsey's band. Whether she likes them or not, she can't have managed to completely ignore them.

Anonymous said...

Seriously, it takes great commitment to continue listening to MSI -after the first 4 seconds. I'd be amazed if she's ever heard one song all the way through.

But I wouldn't be so quick to defend (in her way) a band I know little of, either.

Who knows.

Anonymous said...

To tell the truth I am 32 years old and knew nothing of MSI until the Panty Shot lyrics were being discussed. I'm troubled by the irresponsible nature of their lyrics under the guise of "art" and self expression.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends...
Wednesday August 31, 2011 | Posted by: Gerard

“Your past doesn’t matter- what happened five years ago doesn’t matter- the only thing that matters is your friends on stage- and what you do tonight. That will last forever.”

Reading and Leeds-

Frank said this seconds before we killed the house-lights on stage at Reading- in a group hug, and in near darkness. And not to misquote him but this is what I heard in my head- maybe he said it more poetically, but he has a talent for being direct- which is what I love about him.

And we were very direct.

Our past with the festival is often misconstrued, seen through the lens of “revisionist history” depending on who writes about it. “2006 was a triumph!”. “2006 was a bloodbath!”. It is surely sensational but to me it was simply boring to talk about- or was my boredom masking fear?

No matter what it was- it was the exact recipe for a life-or-death rock and roll show- and that happens to be our specialty.

You see, the thing about My Chemical Romance is that we never wanted to be cool. We never wanted anything dropped in our palms- we wanted to take it. We wanted to be US- and we wanted the same thing for the fans. And because of that- we faced adversity- and started to get really good at it.

So when we got the call to headline the festival it didn’t matter how afraid I was, how reserved, paranoid, nauseous- terrified. We had to do it- in fact we congratulated each other.

I got up there for one reason- US. Every member of the band, and every kid that believed- all of US. And I will never forget the smiles on all of our faces. That was my favorite part.

So I wanted to drop this note and thank every one of you in the crowd that made those nights spectacular. Also the crew, who works very hard, and Brian May, for giving us inspiration, courage, and honoring us by sharing the stage.

Reading and Leeds were the best shows of my life. Period.

Let’s do it again some time.

Tom Hardy, OH, THAT PICTURE! And I just love him because he's such a happy, sweet person. ^_____^

Also, I'm fanpooding Dr. Who big time these days. :D

I'd rather be a villian than a hero. You?

Lindsey tweeted this at Jessicka late last night, then deleted it right away. It was showing on my tweetdeck earlier but now it's gone.

So Lindsey, you're rather be a racist piece of trash than a decent person? Good to know.

Sounds to me like Lindsey got hurt that someone called her amaaaaazzzing racist ass out.

Obviously Jessicka told LynZ about her conversation with Kapuna, prompting LynZ to reply in the "I-don't-give-a-fuck" attitude she thinks is cool.

Because she's an impulsive douchebag who thinks before she speaks and regulary deletes her tweets. If she could delete Panty Shot and the tsunami comment she probably would, but she can't, so she just pretends they didn't happen instead.

kapunua said...

Also, EWW, what a hideous and ugly thing for Billy Corgan to say. He seems pretty violent and hateful in general, after reading that.

Beautiful Kapunua. I love seeing pics like that, the innocence and the happiness that shines through. A couple of my friends have little boys and I have become quite smitten (love little girls too) Hopeful I will have my own little boy in the future to smother with heaps of affection :)

Anonymous said...

What is it with these rockstars that have to lash out in public? Do they really want this attention?

Anonymous said...

Jessicka person reinforces it imo.

I don't agree. After doing some web detective work I've come to the conclusion that Jessicka isn't racist, sexist, or a homophobic.
She just has really bad taste in friends.
I've yet to see one photo of Jessicka and Gerard.

I always like to give a subject or person that I'm not familiar with a proper Google. I'm really bored. These are just some of my web detective findings. My opinion of Lyn-z Way has not changed though. She's just a moron. I get the sense that Lyn-z believes she is just like Jessicka and that is how she is portraying herself now.

"MSI who?" "Panty Shot, What?"

I'm a fine artist.

Whatever?

That's a bit harsh. I've yet to see any indication that Jessicka is a stupid person.

Gerard on the other hand. Not so bright.

Anonymous said...

I think she likes to present herself as having great intellect and I was waiting to see what sort of argument she would use to counter Kapunua's, but to no avail. I would describe her as having a higher quota of emotional intelligence than her friends.

kapunua said...

3:51, I hope you do! :D

Actually (TMI here) I was at the Dr. today for some lady-problems and we started talking about fertility and such. Seeing as I'm almost 39 and the guy I'm seeing is younger and probably not into it, I'm going to eventually decide to go it alone. So, we were discussing when I might begin that process. (Like maybe next year. ^_^ )

kapunua said...

As far as calling out your friends, I just ended up doing that today, too. Ugh, it was so awkward and I hate every second of it. He actually posted that all women and gays "suck". We've had this conversation before: "You can say whatever you want, but I'm always going to call you out on your bias opinions." We train together, so I've got to see him once or twice a week no matter what.

But frankly, this is the second time he's made a "joke" like that and already I'm fed up. He wouldn't be the first guy I trained with that I just shut down and shut out, because of that. It makes life a lot harder, that's for sure. But I honestly can't put up with it.

I'm not sure Frank's side of the story is the entire truth of the matter. I hope Pedicone will be able to defend himself with the truth if there is more to it then he was just stealing from their petty cash bin or something. He is calling it an error in judgement and that the situation is more "complicated" then it sounds. Bob's departure ended up being a lot more then the mutual separation that was claimed by MCR in the beginning too, so I guess after the dust settles we'll find out more about this and what really happened.

Anonymous said...

tiptoeing around the possibility of it being drugs, but it seems the obvious explanation.

Why would drugs seem the obvious explanation?

Weren't the police there? If drugs had been involved they would've all been arrested.

Hocking said...

Which makes me think that if it was drugs, they were controlled drugs. If he was trying to steal something controlled from one of them he would be arrested.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 10:56. Going on my own city's current desire to give tickets or arrest any person they possibly can right now (I'm assuming for the fines the processes bring in), I think they would have arrested all of them, or in the least Pedicone (had drugs been involved). Despite what the band may have wanted. Most police are not thrilled to even have to deal with concerts and the crowds they generate, let alone have to deal with the 'talent.' But I would bet money that if there was any slightly valid reason to take someone in, the police would not have hesitated to do so. It sounds like money more than anything to me. But we will never get the full story anyway. I don't think it's relevant.

Anonymous said...

I wonder what he stole?

These are the drummers latest Tweets.

"What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you."

"It was an error in judgement based on a whole other situation that's way deeper but this does not define me."

Anonymous said...

lol

Anonymous said...

you don't steal from your own long time friends unless you're desperate for cash. Either he needed to fund a habit or something equally shady.

From the sound of the blog post they took him in to see the police, probably for legal reasons since they're not pressing charges.

Pedicone's last tweet clinches it for me. Sorry dude, your shitty lifestyle choice do define you.

Anonymous said...

Amazes me how some people sent their pontification and moralizing directly to the man when they had no real idea about the circumstances. And they have the nerve to criticize some of the people here.

Anonymous said...

I don't know anything about Mike Pedicone, and I don't want to, seeing as how he was a part of MCR, if only unofficially and only for a little while. Even so, was Frank's little, "He STOLE from us!!!" blog really necessary? I find it odd that he would shame the guy publicly, regardless of how much his witty bitty feelings were hurt.

If the guy was stealing because of drugs or whatever, get him some help. If he was just a thief for the sake of being a thief, have him arrested and let him go to trial. But no, Frank has to go for a public lynching instead. I think that just goes to show what vengeful little pricks they are.

Anonymous said...

But no, Frank has to go for a public lynching instead. I think that just goes to show what vengeful little pricks they are.

That guy is on my shit list since that 'raped dem slits' tweet and to me he comes off as a dim bulb, but I agree with you, anon. As if MCR ever cared about what people speculated about them, their actions and their choices. They also didn't care what people speculated about Bob the Flop's parting. Okay, they may have thought that they owe him more respect since he was their drummer much longer than Pedicone, but it seems that Frank had a bone to pick with Pedicone and that's why he released this statement.

Apart from that, I find it really weird that a band member would make such an announcement. Don't they have a manager/spokesperson who could do this?

Anonymous said...

I actually feel sorry for this drummer person. I personally don't know what to think of the situation as the entire story hasn't come out, I think the drummer should tell his side now that Frank blogged about it. But, the classy thing to do for both parties would have been to part ways quietly, but MCR can't keep their mouths shut, can they?

Anonymous said...

I think MCR's handling of this situation is extraordinarily classless. But this is MCR we're talking about. Classy is not in their repertoire.

Anonymous said...

But, the classy thing to do for both parties would have been to part ways quietly, but MCR can't keep their mouths shut, can they?

I have to disagree with that. They can keep their mouths shut pretty well, but only if they're the ones who will look bad if the true story comes out.

Anonymous said...

They can keep their mouths shut pretty well, but only if they're the ones who will look bad if the true story comes out.

Exactly.

This is why they stayed mum about Bob's firing. And why they didn't talk much about Matt's firing. Because they would have looked like the bad guys.

Yet they go and make an actual blog post (by one of the members of the band, no less) to shout from the rooftops about how Pedicone "stole" from them? Honestly, when I read Frank's blog, you know what came to mind? Crazy CLove and her ranting about people stealing from her.

Ugh. They make me sick.

Exactly. I almost have the feeling his intention was to shame him.

Anonymous said...

And if Frank or another member of the band hadn't made a statement about the firing of Mike Pedicone you would have said that they had something to hide. The band did the right thing by making a public statement and by saying that was the last time they would bring up the matter. It's over. It's done. Hopefully all parties can move on.

Anonymous said...

Well Frank is a scorpio and stings occasionally.

Anonymous said...

You know what?

I get damn tired of people coming here to tell me what I "would have said" all of the time.

I would not have said anything regarding the firing of Pedicone, had the band simply said they were letting him go because things weren't working out. Pedicone was never an official member of the band and therefore, it would not have been a big deal if they were to replace him.

The incidents with Bob and Matt were never fully explained, so why are they going to such lengths to explain Pedicone? It simply makes no sense. Besides, it's not just people who dislike the band who don't agree with the way they handled this situation.

Instead of always coming to their defense and criticizing us for pointing out their mistakes, maybe you should look at your idols a little more closely and you would see that they make a lot of stupid mistakes with regards to public relations.

Anonymous said...

I'm wondering if this isn't a publicity stunt. Maybe the Reading headline/Brian May cameo failed to raise enough interest, so they thought some seedy drama was just what they needed, Kings of Leon-style.

Pity the drummer got cast as the bad guy.

Anonymous said...

That's rather far-fetched, 6:08. Not to mention, both the festival gigs seemed to explode with MCR "Fandom."

I would have found it more suspcious if one of the band memembers hadn't posted the announcement themselves. That band has always made band statements personally, even moreso back in the day. Whether it's truth or full of detail is another matter. But they have always had their personal names on the band statements.

I pity the drummer for the flack he's getting from their fans. But Pedicone has said he did something wrong. It's not like the incident was made up. Otherwise, he'd have been a fool to say he was guilty if he was really innocent. Faking something like that doesn't help him in the least.

Anonymous said...

They're not my idols and I have called them out on their bad decisions in the past. Like I'm calling you out on your bad judgement now.

Anonymous said...

And if Frank or another member of the band hadn't made a statement about the firing of Mike Pedicone you would have said that they had something to hide.

Excuse me, but perhaps you need to re-read your comment above. Are you now saying that you were not accusing people on this blog of just disagreeing with MCR for the sake of disagreeing?

Sorry if I misconstrued your intent, but if you go back and read, you'll see that you did come off like the typical MCR defender there.

Personally, I agree that MCR should have made a statement. I just don't agree with the statement they made, especially considering that they left people in the dark for so long after firing Bob. They did not have to publicly shame Pedicone.

kapunua said...

Well I have to say, it does kind of stink of throwing him to the wolves--meaning the fankiddies. They had to know that the worst thing to do is publicly shame him. A) He'll probably never work again and B) the fankiddies/MCRmy are going to harass him.

But this is typical of MCR. When they want someone harassed, they say something in public and let their mindless minions do the work.

kapunua said...

Which is also not to say that I GAF what happens to this guy. They can all go hang as far as I'm concerned. I'm just saying, this behavior is typical of MCR.

Hocking said...

I agree 7.58. I even mention it on my blog over on Tumblr. Frank could have said that they had a disagreement and he was released.

Anonymous said...

I thought the interview they did where they said they fired Bob because he was the water on their creative fire was very telling. IMO I think Bob had worked over a year on an album that was supposed to rid them of the costumes and theatrics only to have King G decide he wanted to head back in that direction and re-write/record another album. I'm more inclined to believe Bob left because of that then he was just up and fired. He probably said he was finished if they did the Killjoy bullshit and they were willing to let him go.

Is that your excuse to dismiss any argument that sounds logical? Even when a corporate body dismisses an employee they do not publicly announce they want nothing to do with the former employee. They move on. I think the way he worded his statement was anything but smart and to be expected from FI.

MCR should have released a statement saying they had parted ways with Mike maybe because it wasn't working out or whatever, but they didn't. They decided to air their dirty laundry in front of the whole world. It seems quite vengeful to me.

Any other band would have tried to keep it classy and dignified, but I guess that's too much for MCR. They just had to scream "OMG! He stole from us!" from the rooftops.

I'm not going to judge the drummer until he gets his say.

I think there is wrong on both sides: Mike has admitted 'he made a mistake' and has not countered Frank's accusation of theft, so as far as I'm concerned he's done something criminal and if the police were involved it must have been serious enough. However Frank's blog reads like a character assassination designed to cause maximum damage and ensure Mike never gets any work again. It wouldn't suprise me if they'd tried to do a similar thing to Brian and Bob (just more privately) when they also kicked them out of the unit.

Are you kidding, 5:25? You must have a really high regard for other bands, and excuse their poor behavior regularly. I can think of at least 4 off the top of my head, that have recently thrown stones publically at other (or now ex) band members. Such is the way of the entertainment world.

They all do it. Social etiquette isn't a factor. It's kill or be killed. Kudos to those who can rise above, and face the consequences of being the better person/group. But there are always consequences.

11:12, MCR managed to keep their mouths shut when it came to Bob Bryar and why he left/was fired. Why couldn't they do the same for Pedicone?
