I simply do not think it's right for them to build an audience based on lies. Many, many young girls did believe and "take to heart" their previous message. I think by turning their backs on that they are doing a lot of harm. They are reinforcing society's message that young women aren't deserving of honesty and respect. MCR used those young women purely for financial reasons, and I have a real issue with that.

A band like My Chemical Romance, which played the Fox Theater Wednesday night to the adoration of thousands of their earnest, singing-along-to-every anthem Bakersfield fans. But even more impressive than the concert itself was the simple fact that a band so huge and so meaningful to so many teens would play in Bakersfield at all.
Trust me, as someone who has had more than a few teenage obsessions of my own, it hasn't always been so easy to see the latest Best Band Ever.

Many of these fans' stories are similar to mine, including a less than ideal trip to Las Vegas (let's just say food poisoning was involved), but of course, they have a set of personal joys, excitement and irreplaceable moments that are entirely their own.

I never said that I was pro censorship. What I said, though, was that there is a time and place for everything. I was talking about German tv (since I cannot say much about American tv, obviously) which often airs promo trailers for movies like American Pie (or other sleazy sex comedies), horror movies or even promos for that CSI series (in which they show cut up corpses and other things) already in the morning or at noon. I simply stated that, for me, this is inappropriate and unnecessary because kids could be - and most likely - are watching tv at that time. I never said that I would want to forbid those kinds of series or movies (I even watch some of them myself) but, just like I said, there's a time and place for everything and little kids don't need to hear Alyson Hannigan talking about shoving her trumpet in her 'pussy'. I mean, wtf?
I don't have a problem if they show those promos at a time when kids should usually be in bed, but I have a problem if they show those promos or even the whole movie at a time when kids sit in front of the tv and can watch those things (American Pie is often aired in the morning as a re-run). I find it unnecessary to expose children to such things already.
