I hear the C-word loving drummer left / got fired.

I bet the fangirls are going crazy. Are they upset, or are they trying to make the remaining members look like a victim? How long until the ex-member is a bad guy.

Many bands replace drummers right and left anyway. It kind of shows the fakeness of rockbands pretending to be "bestest friends for life". Why do they perpetuate the image that they are BFFs and some kind of posse? I think with most bands it comes down to money and image. Probably no one more-so than with MCR which is more or less a corporate machine anymore.

Maybe the drummer didn't fit into their new LA "we're the only real band" image, or maybe Gerard had a hissy fit over something and threw him out too (like the first drummer.)

Does anyone care, other than to think it's kind of funny?

Pointing and laughing when time permits....

Ricky Martin has finally come out of the closet and admitted he was gay. It was no surprise to me. I always thought he was and i always thought he was a good looking man. To bad some people can't be as honest.

Good for Ricky Martin. At least he was honest.

Did you guys hear that Amanda Palmer is working on her own comic series? Dark Horse spilled the beans earlier on twitter.

^Why do these people always have to copy each other? Wonder how she got that contract..... No, wait. I think I can already guess that.

Too bad Gerard isn't.

If that's Lynz's voice in the G Way video she sounds like a nagging fishwife. And he's the lucky one married to her. LOL!

Anonymous said...

She probably had her school uniform skirt in her purse thinking maybe they would ask her to join in the photo shoot with meat head. They could pose together with blood splattered all over them while they both smoked. (and he could hold her boob) LOL!

Don't laugh, it probably did happen and will appear as a piece of 'art' in her show later this year.

Gerard would have to have been doing drugs to come up with that "it's more real, but at the same time it's more fake," B.S.

Did you see the expression on his face after he said it? It was like I know the fangirls are gonna lap this f**king shit

Anonymous said...

I think Gerard Way is becoming more real at becoming more fake, with lots of help from his dense mrs.

Anonymous said...

well if course she is. i bet lindsey is working on one too. probably ju and chantal will have their own comics soon.

but they'll all become totes irrelevant once lady gaga unleashes hers on the world.

/sarcasm (although i would not be at all surprised if all of this really did happen. seems every celebrity, pseudo-celebrity, and their grandma is writing a comic these days.)

It looks like John Nolan and Shaun Cooper are rejoining Taking Back Sunday?

Ngl, that would be about 15 different kinds of awesome and makes me all :D.

Still going to miss Matt R though.

Anonymous said...

You know, this thing with TBS makes me think that maybe it's not entirely far-fetched that Matt Pelissier might be rejoining MCR.

Think about it. Not only would this move make the lawsuit disappear, but it has been suggested that maybe Matt and Gerard co-wrote the lyrics on Bullets and Revenge, which were very different from those on TBP (keep in mind all the rumors about Rob Cavallo having input on those).

Maybe, just maybe, the new album is taking so long because Gerard just couldn't do the lyrics on his own. We all heard those God-awful lyrics to The World is Ugly and Death Before Disco, etc. So, what if they booted Bob out, got Matt back and now they can go back to being the band they used to be before TBP?

This could also explain why Gerard is trashing TBP in the press.

Pure speculation of course.

Oh but Gerard has such an amazing way with words...

Lol.

Why do they want that stupid MTV contest so badly anyway? It's not like it really means anything. I mean, they beat out Pearl Jam and right now Panic! at the Disco is still in the running. How fucking desperate are these guys for validation right now?

Anonymous said...

It is kind of sad how they're asking fans to vote. They don't even deserve it - 30STM have been active and successful this past year and deserve it so much more. MCR played a couple shows, did a shitty cover song for a movie, and keep pushing back their album release. But their nutbag fanbase will make sure they win no matter what. Makes me mad for other bands. Yes I know MTV contests aren't very important but MCR has no place competing against Pearl Jam and 30STM.

Anonymous said...

Lynz is defending her lack of musical talent on twitter again.

I can't believe they beat Blink 182. All the fangirls who ogle JL must have voted.

Anonymous said...

probably because 30stm has been more prominent recently.

Anonymous said...

Kim Gordon may not think of herself as a musician but she's still a better bassist than Lindsey and probably has more input into Sonic Youth's music than Lindsey has in MSI. She and Thurston share the mic and I'm pretty sure she writes the lyrics she sings.

I don't know if anyone reads this in Cali's bay area but last i heard they weren't allowed to play Berkely's Gilman Street Project which housed Green day and AFI back in the day.

Real music lovers spend their time going to shows and listening to music -- not voting for some guy they think is "so hawt" on an idiotic MTV poll.

Whoever was posting all the garbage about the pair not being legally married is fucked in the skull.

I found this comment exceedingly funny. Not because I necessarily believe that Gerard and Lindsey aren't legally married (in fact, I could not care less), but because this would not be the first time that this sort of thing has happened.

Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall were "married" for nine years, had 4 kids together and then when she tried to divorce him he revealed that their marriage had never been legal. The marriage was annulled, but he still had to pay out the nose.

Now, I'm not comparing Gerard Way to Mick Jagger in terms of popularity, notoriety or position in the music world, but Gerard and Lindsey are people who "make up their own rules". I certainly wouldn't put it past them to have a non-legal union or any other kind of marriage "arrangement" which could include other partners for all we know.

The circumstances of their marriage were dodgy and strange and I do think that if fans are inclined to question it, the couple have given them plenty of reason to do so.

Anonymous said...

^Their marriage has got to be open to allow them to have partners of the same sex at the very least. I mean, come on! Go watch Gerard smoke that cigarette on the Spin video and then try and tell me he's totally straight.

If he hates celebrities so much they why does he makes sure that nearly all his BFF's are in the limelight like him(Neil Gaimen, Amanda Palmer, Burton LeVar)?

Why did he start kissing Kevin Smith and Seth Rogan's asses on Twitter?

Why did he attend various Watchmen premiers, the Spike TV awards and a Hello Kitty party?

Why did he move to LA? You can't swing a cat in that place without hitting a celebrity. If he really hated them that much, that's the last place on Earth he'd move to.

As usual, he's taking shit.

Anonymous said...

I think maybe Gerard does have somewhat of a chip on his shoulder because celebrities have never considered MCR to be the 'in band' to listen to. I think maybe the Jersey-ness of the band along with their poor hygiene put those people off. Also, it didn't help when their fanbase became mostly overweight teenage girls with raccoon eyes who dressed all in black (no, I'm not saying that all of their fans are like that, just a majority).

What if there was HONESTLY something wrong with Gerard Way? How would you all feel if he died? What then? Would you be sorry or would you sit there and laugh? I bet you would sit there and laugh.

You people really are awful. Find something better to do than pick on one man.

Anonymous said...

And on Easter weekend to boot. Your attitude (anti-Christan AND anti-HUMAN BEING and anti-MCR) stinks.

Go preach your Christian lecture to Frank Iero who wants Christ out of his Christmas, blasphemes by saying the words, "God damn it, Jesus," and says he doesn't celebrate a "magic baby's birth."

Neither Frank nor Gerard have made any secret about their disdain for the church (and therefore Christ and Christianity), so your arguments make no sense here.

Anonymous said...

And seriously, what does that have to do with anything? Nobody here wishes disease and death (or anything remotely approaching that) on Gerard. Good grief. At least try to make sense when you come here to attack us.

kapunua said...

Awww, guilt. How precious.

To be honest, I wouldn't feel guilty, nor would I laugh. I'd feel quite the same way that I do whenever some random celebrity that I'm occasionally aware of up and dies. Which is kind of like, "Oh, that's a shame. Anyway, what was I doing?"

Celebrities that I like, that makes me sad when they die. Celebrities who I'm vaguely aware of--like Corey Haim recently--well, that's sad. But it really doesn't affect me?

Ones that I don't like? Well, it's sad when anyone dies, and you feel badly for their family, but certainly I'd feel kind of "meh" about it in general.

You people don't understand the meaning of the words "STAGE PERSONNA"> As a Christian I might not agree with everything he says, but he is saying it in character, a role that he plays on stage. That does not reflect the real person.

And even if it did, you have to hate the sin, not the sinner.

Anonymous said...

I also find it disgusting that you would "not be too upset" if Gerard died.

I would personally be upset if ANYONE died. It would be a tragedy. YES, EVEN ALL OF YOU.

Anonymous said...

Have you not seen an interview with him? He's just as vulgar off stage as on.

Anonymous said...

And honestly, do you look at the news and cry for every single person who's died that day?

Anonymous said...

I am sick and tired of "STAGE PERSONA" being used as an excuse to defend him.

How the fuck would you know what is his character on stage or not?

Anonymous said...

And lastly, I personally do not buy the excuse of using a stage persona to say whatever the hell you want. If you don't want to own up to saying those things yourself, don't say them at all.

Anonymous said...

I also find it disgusting that you would "not be too upset" if Gerard died.

I would personally be upset if ANYONE died. It would be a tragedy. YES, EVEN ALL OF YOU.

Stop being such a self-righteous pontificating fool. No one here wants anyone to die.

Anonymous said...

No one here has SAID they specifically want them to die, but at least one of you said the "wouldn't be too upset" If he did and you KNOW that is wrong.

Unless of course you all agree.

Anonymous said...

Because we do not know him personally. Because he is a celebrity. No matter how close you may think you are to him through watching interviews and LOTMS and hearing him say how he wants to keep close contact with fans, none of us know him. In all honesty, if someone who was not an actual close friend or family member of him was devastated by his death, that would be odd. But as bystanders, to be generally sad about it would be normal.

As someone else said, we don't cry and mourn for the thousands of people who die everyday. I don't see how GW would be different.

Anonymous said...

And I see that you've ignored the stage persona issue.

Anonymous said...

omfg!!!! im 16

Anonymous said...

And lastly, I personally do not buy the excuse of using a stage persona to say whatever the hell you want. If you don't want to own up to saying those things yourself, don't say them at all.

Cuz they make up these 'stage personas' to evade any personal responsibility for their tactlessness and what they really think.

Anonymous said...

at least one of you said the "wouldn't be too upset" If he did and you KNOW that is wrong.

Do you even think about what you're saying before you post it?

John Forsythe died today. I used to watch him on Dynasty years ago. When I read that he died I was like, "Oh." I had a brief moment of empathy for his family and then I went about my business. I would feel the same if something like that happened to Gerard. I would feel sorry for Bandit and the other members of his family and a tiny twinge of sorrow that he died so young and then I would forget about it.

My sister died five years ago and I was devastated because she was my sister. But does that make anyone here feel terribly upset? No. Oh, I'm sure some of you are sorry for me, because you're decent people and you are capable of empathy, but my sister's death really means nothing to you because you don't know her. Why should it be any different for some rockstar that you don't know?

People die every day, all day long. If we all got upset over everyone who died, we'd never get anything else done.

So yeah. Think before you say such idiotic things.

Anonymous said...

MCR fangirls say the darn stupidest things at times.

Anonymous said...

Religious anon obvs from Mayo's, it's funny how you're all upset because no one here would cut themselves if Gerard died, but a bunch of you went on the prowl after the one person here you seem to hate, after her grandmother died (and I think after her father died? Didn't the OPs tell her that she wasn't the only person there who had lost a father)? Yeah where was your Christian empathy then?

Obviously to you people, the only one who deserves anything is your idol, Gerard. He is the only thing that means anything to you and that's why you defend him.

You are hypocrites, plain and simple.

Anonymous said...

Gerard would love to spit on a celebrity? Really?

Maybe next time he sees his brother's good friend Pete Wentz out with his wife, Ashlee, he should spit on her. Or maybe Nicole Ritchie the next time he runs into that Madden twin that they're such good buds with.

Or maybe he should have spit on one of those hip-hop guys he was sucking up to at the VMAs all those years ago.

Yeah, I'm sure he really wants to spit on a celebrity.

He's such an idiot.

Apparently Gerard Way does. Didn't he spit on somebody a long time ago with a STAFOO sign? So does Frank because he spit on Eliza at a show once.

Maybe it's just a Jersey thing? Anyway, it's disgusting and I don't understand what Gerard was trying to accomplish by saying that in a magazine interview.

Anonymous said...

He's edgy and working class and he doesn't give a fuck. Like Frank. Until the Feds raided his house, then he cried like a little boy and had to hire a rich person's 'celebrity' lawyer to keep him out of jail.

These guys, seriously.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Gerard and Amanda Palmer can get together on a red carpet somewhere and spit on celebrities as they pass. Then they can sell tickets to it and give the proceeds to something "ironic, like the Klan". And if someone complains, they can tell them to "suck it" because they're doing performance art.

Anonymous said...

And Lyn-Z can join them and flash her crotch, and when someone asks her why she is part of a racial and gender-hate band, she can get all pissy and tell them she's doing it 'to be a role model for the girls'.

Gerard Way is so incredibly predictable with his lame attempts to provoke people with his stupid remarks. He so desperately wants to be that edgy rawkstaa who doesn't fit in and doesn't give a shit about what people think about his unconventional, thought-provoking, daring social commentary which is actually nothing else than brainless drivel from a would-be philosopher who can do nothing else than copy the mindset and ideas of other people. I just don't get why nobody of the people who have to do those interviews with that loon call him out on his bullshit? I guess they give him the questions turn on the recorder and then leave the room to do whatever and don't come back until that idiot's finished only to laugh their asses off when listening to what they've recorded.

Also, there is a major difference between the people here and the members of MCR. We're just individuals posting on a blog. Our opinions really don't get much farther than this little space on the internet.

MCR, however, has a much larger podium. They have the potential to do either a lot of good or a lot of harm in the world. Many young girls listen to them and take their word as gospel. In fact, they are helping to forge some of the attitudes and ideas that many young girls of an impressionable age might be forming about themselves, about how they see themselves and about how they are willing (or unwilling) to allow themselves to be treated by men in their futures.

MCR has abused that power. That's why we are so angry about that.

Maybe you aren't a teenie, but you certainly don't seem to be able to understand what we've been trying to get across here, which is that MCR's faux feminist stance could be hurting young girls.

Who said MCR are my idols? Who said I was condoning them and their actions?

Then why exactly are you here?

Anonymous said...

I think it's disgusting that Frank spit on Eliza. I think that talk of spitting on people in general is disgusting.

Were these people raised in a barn?

Anonymous said...

No, in Jersey.

Anonymous said...

It really wasn't my intention to imply that everyone here was of that opinion, that's why I was careful to use the word 'some.'

Fair enough, I accept your point that MCR do have influence that most people lack, however I don't think that makes their opinions any more valid than ours. And,if some people are sharing such opinions here, on a this blog, what's not to say that if they were the ones up there on the stage, they would not share them there too? I think negative opinions are equally damaging, regardless of who they are from. We all have family, friends, colleagues whom we impact upon daily, without even realising.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your point, and to some extent I agree with it. But I think it is detrimental to your message when people post things as hypocrital as 'but it's Eliza.'

As for why I am here, well, why are most of you here? I think you have interesting little discussions on this blog at times, however, I think at others they can verge a little on the personal side. I'm not new here btw, I've been anon posting on this blog for a few months now.

We're here to call out Gerard Way, MCR and their bunch of racist and sexist friends on their bullshit. And we'll be around for a while yet as long as they keep making such jerks of themselves and offending everyone they can.

Eliza thought it was hilarious! I'm not even being sarcastic.

I would guess she didn't mean it and only said it to hide that she probably really was insulted.

how do you know frank spat on eliza?

It was at a show and people saw it.

OMG! Why are you so obsessed with MCR that you actually took the time to seek out this place where people don't like MCR and then comment on it?!

Talk about creepy!

Anonymous said...

That's a little out of order, this place is hardly a secret- I'm surprised there aren't more MCR fans that have posted here. It hardly seems obsessive to me to have found this link, clicked on it, and then have been baffled enough to comment.

The anon had a fair point- a lot of people here do seem to know a LOT of information about MCR and actively seek out that knowledge by keeping up with twitters/interviews/fansites and the like. It seems like a lot of effort if you hate these people so much, and want them out of the spotlight.

Also, what's with turning people's words back on them? I've seen that done here a lot, seems like kind of a low form of wit to me.

If someone comes here with a well thought out question and presents it in a reasonable way, it opens this place up for discussion.

However, when somebody comes in and is rude (e.g. "omg, what is wrong with you people, why are you sooo obsessed?!) then we usually respond in kind.

I don't think the people here are "obsessed" with MCR. I know that I come here maybe once a day if I'm bored at work. I used to belong to several MCR communities and often I still get email updates on things that are going on with them. Also, people here provide links. I look at them and I usually roll my eyes and laugh. If they do something particularly stupid (as in the "I want to spit on a celebrity" quote) then I'll maybe post the link here and comment.

I don't think that's obsessed. I have other interests that don't involve musicians and celebrities, but I follow a few that I like and a couple that I don't like. It passes the time when I have a slow day at work.

It's not like I spend all of my time googling MCR or coming here to read everytime there's a new comment. I imagine a lot of the people here are like me.

Well that's silly to assume they wouldn't. How else would they continue their criticism of this band without linking the band's recent shenanigans. I don't think they're obsessed on this blog, only very angry about being "taken for a ride" and hate their superficiality. Seems to me you're the one confused, they are not apathetic yet.

This is true. There seems to be a certain progression that most soon-to-be ex-fans follow. First they start to doubt the band. Then they become convinced they were "taken for a ride" so to speak. After that sinks in they become quite angry and feel the need to vent. Eventually, this gives way to either a) avoidance of all things MCR (those people usually leave the blog) or b) finding them ridiculous and continuing to follow them so as to "point and laugh".

I know a lot of people who were angry at MCR back before I came around to seeing what asshats they were. They've gone through all of those stages and many have totally abandoned the fandom.

Myself? I'm one of those people who moved from the angry venting stage to finding them laughable and ridiculous. So, I stay for the entertainment value. I'm not obsessed. I just know a good joke when I see one.

no offence, but, if you don't like mcr anymore, why follow them? it's really wierd if you don't like them and you still follow everything they do! freaky...

Anonymous said...

By the same logic, "Freaky" and "Creepy" anon, why do you come here to read what we write? Obviously, you're still a fan and you don't understand us. We've explained and explained why we're here yet you still don't seem to get it.

So why worry your little head over it?

In two days time MCR will probably have beaten out all other modern rock bands for the title of best modern rock band.

Count the money bitches. You loose, they win. Even if they hold steady at number two the album sales on this next record will blow away TBP.

Heh, and don't way you don't care cause you've been bring it up all along how the only thing that'll convince them they're wrong is loss of cash.

So then with as much as they're about to make, wow, they must be really REALLY right then, aren't they?

Ah, ain't business grand?!

Anonymous said...

You're kidding, right?

You're taking an internet voting contest that has been pretty much rigged from the start by a bunch of teenage girls who don't even buy music but who download it off the internet and think that has anything at all to do with record sales?

Bands who have sold millions more records than MCR were eliminated in the early rounds of that silly contest. Why? Because people who can afford to buy music don't sit around on their computers voting in MTV contests.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your little MTV contest means precious little out there in the real world.

Anonymous said...

Come back when MCR wins a Billboard Award for actual record sales, sweetheart. Then we'll talk.

Anonymous said...

Um, yeah.

You can pretty much discount a contest when the bands in the final running are the likes of Tokio Hotel, Panic at the Disco and MCR.

I like Muse, but frankly, the only reason they got as far as they did in that MTV thing was because of their exposure to the teenies in Twilight.

But whatever. Go on believing that MCR is the 'biggest band in the world' if it makes you feel better about listening to a bunch of lying asshats.

happyXamp said...

actually, in my opinion, music's at an intresting crossroad, Particularly rock. Yea you've got huge names like Green Day on tour, and newer bands like Paramore. But other then a band the person likes there's not a whole lot going on. Now if you look at top 40, diffrent in every country i know, you have people with incredible work ethics that will be around like Lady Gaga. Then you've got people who are just there for one or two albums and will inevidentibly disappear, like Lilly Allen, girl's a train wreck who probably won't be able to save her career, and the trainwrecks like Ke$sha who are there to be trainwrecks.
The only genre that seems to be selling, and again im in the US so this is from the US point of view, is Country. Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum... their selling the biggest, their making records, selling out concerts, etc.
Rock may be popular but how long can they, the bands, last with fans like a lot of the fan girls for any band, not just MCR, illegally downloading, and buying a $15 t-shirt? Then you've got bands that go into debt becuase of their touring.. so MCR playing smaller venues actually make sense, they know they can't sell out arenas like Green Day (GD though actually does sell tickets starting at $15-20), and they also know they can't charge 30 and 40 dollars for a t-shirt.They can pack a smaller club though, and probably get more people buying the t-shirts there.
I mean groups like Hole, ACDC, Led Zepplin, they couldn't sellout unless they sold out the day of concert.

there's something else nagging at me but i can't remeber it

-------------------------------------

I seriously doubt that the next album is gonna be selling big. Compared to the likes of Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, or AC/DC, MCR are just small potatoes in a genre that's already dying and losing popularity.

Poor economy, music business not exactly doing well especially when it comes to CD sales, people who feel that they're *entitled* to download music illegally just because it's free(I'm not kidding either.) Not exactly a formula for a band to succeed in these tough times unless you're majorly successful such as Green Day.

I honestly had no idea that people still listened to Coheed and Cambria. Seriously, I haven't heard one of their songs in years.

Damn, did I fall asleep and wake up back in 2005?

Oh wait. This is MTV we're talking about. They don't have anything to do with music anymore, just raunchy Reality TV shows.

Never mind.

Shocked? No. Disgusted, yes.

I get out quite a lot, thanks. I just stay away from places where it's considered okay to spit on people. I also avoid people who laugh at self-abortion jokes and who think that it's funny when a woman gets punched in the face by a man.

Where is such behavior considered appropriate, might I ask? Cock fights?

They only thing we're shocked about is their incredible vulgarity and stupidity. It might serve you to get out more and educate yourself about the real world.

Hello, all. I've been lurking on here for a while, and have finally decided to comment. Heh. As someone said, I believe I am at the soon-to-be ex-fan stage, and for sure have my doubts about MCR. I've been in "denial" for a while-- I just didn't want to believe G.Way and MCR, the humble, inspiring, talented, guys who are against homophobic, racist, and sexist people and who encourage everyone to be themselves and take a stand (Wow, they sure have taken a 180), that I had actually looked up (*shudder*) before all the shit went down, have become hypcritial, lying, fake, douchebags who are up their own asses. I agree with pretty much everything you guys have said on here [about Lyn-Z, Gerard, MCR, and co.] + on all the other blogs. Their behavior has actually made me ASHAMED to be a fan...well, to have been a fan.
They didn't "save" my life or anything (tbh, I hate how they're using the fact that they have "saved" other peoples' lives [PSH, btw] to market their music. I'm sure other bands have "saved" other peoples' lives, too. Like All Time Low, surprisingly], but their music and Gerard himself and his little quotes (which are just lies) sure did comfort me, if you will. The "old" Gerard actually helped me a lot. I'm glad I got to know him, before the "new", "real" Gerard came out. If the recent likes of Gerard Way are his "real" self, and not just a new person JU + Lynz + his new celebrity friends have influenced him into becoming... which I believe is the case.
&&& I hate how he claims Iggy Pop and all those other artists (whom he has never mentioned before) are his "influences". What happened to Green Day? I also hate how he claims one of the reasons he's in a band is to give the fans the kind of concerts he's always wanted to see (to seem humble, maybe?). Would he like to have seen the lead singer telling all the girls in the audience to moan for him, and such, just to feed his own ego? "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone..." Uh, actually you ARE/were, Gerard. I only say "were" because now you have a wife whom you have only dated for less than two months to spend the rest of your life with. Pfft.
And, I think you guys have covered everything else hypocritical and fake about him that I can think of.

I'd love to rant more about how hypocritical and fake he's become, but I don't wanna make this post any longer, haha. Thanks for reading, if anyone did read this =)
&&& sorry for the run-on sentences and ranting.
