Too bad bass guitars can't get polyps from being used wrong.

Thanks for that, anon. Made me laugh.

I hope his health problems arn't to serious, his voice has deteriated (sp) recently, hopefully he will give up smoking now, as he should have done when they had Bandit, I think the missus smokes too. A good example to their child (not).
Having said that, neither my husband or I smoke, and both my children have at some point.

Anonymous said...

Smoking around your kid is tantamount to child abuse. It's like feeding it lead or giving it an asbestos bottle.

sister midnite said...

Hi everyone.

Very true (about the smoking), but truthfully, I'm more concerned about the other substances they may or may not have been ingesting. Neither one of these people is known for taking care of themselves, or spending any amount of time on personal hygiene. I don't even want to think about what their house must look like!

Anonymous said...

I honestly don't know how much of this is his voice problems and how much of it is the lable scrambling to get a decent product out last minute. The reviews from the Roxy Shows were very so-so. After spouting for months that the next record would be a throw back to Bullets, we're given that stupid disco song and one about a car. Even die hard lil fan girls were saying the songs sucked. I think there is going to be a lot of re-writes for this album. Especially since Frank said they discovered this voice issue just recently while in the studio. I dont think the album is close to done.

it seems that soundwave attendees are excited that mcr pulled out from the show.

ref: soundwave festival message board.

Also from the soundwave festival website:

Q: I was attending Soundwave primarily for My Chemical Romance and no longer wish to attend. Can i get a refund?

A: No refunds are offered for the festival, only the sideshow.

I can hear aussie mcr fansheeps crying RN.

Anonymous said...

Despite their disappointment they should still attend.

With the variety of bands playing there they might actually enjoy it.

Gerard's *above* talking to his fans.

Anonymous said...

It does seem that Gerard can't be arsed to talk to the fans himself.

Most people on the Soundwave message board seem glad thrilled that Jimmy Eat World is taking MCR's place.

Judging from the lineup, there are tons of bands there that I would rather see than MCR. I don't understand why anyone would be all that disappointed.

Anonymous said...

Bert McCracken had surgery to remove nodes on his vocal chords and it was completely successful. He sounds just as beautiful as ever, but...

Gerard never was much of a singer to begin with. I don't think his vocal chords have anything to do with his lack of breathing technique or his inability to stay on key.

Jimmy Eat World wipe the floor with MCR. Seriously, this line up change is a godsend, and those little fans bitching about being out of pocket after spending thousands of pounds need to go to soundwave anyway and check out some decent music instead of just hanging around on the barrier all day waiting for MCR.

This. It was at PR where I realized that MCR was probably the worst band there in terms of their live shows. Even the bands on the Revolution stage blew them away. Saosin, Placebo, TBS and Linkin Park put them to shame.

I loled.

Apparently Lyn-Z has specific fans she remembers from touring though. She was/is following some of them on twitter I think. I remember one girl on another site was really excited about it because her idol wanted to "keep" her.

I noticed that Lyn-Z's also following her thighs. And they also have a formspring.me acount.

You know you've truly made it when...

Hey, Chantal! I have three questions. 1) What do you think about The Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan? 2) Could you confirm or dispel the rumors that I've heard stating that MSI are quitting? Finally, 3) Have you ever found an over-weight man to be sexy?

I don't, I can't, and I have

I'm not jealous I blame her for ruining my favorite band and am counting the days until Gerard decides to choose the fans over that dumb skanky bitch or retires so the band can move on from this retarded hell she's fixed them in. Anonymous said...

You're an idiot. Lindsey didn't ruin MCR. Gerard did. He's the one who lied about who he was and what he believed in. Lindsey didn't change him; she just brought his true personality into the light for all of us to see.

Those who blame Lindsey for ruining MCR are just as off as those who claim the people at this blog are jealous of her or the other MCR wives.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah? Than why does this blog only start after he married her? Because she fucked things up, pure and simple. Her and her skanky manipulations. I agree with the write of this blog, Gerard is easily led, pure and simple. I just miss the days when he had something better to fucking follow.

Anonymous said...

While I agree with you that he is very easily led and that MSI as a whole are probably not the best company for him to be keeping, Gerard is not completly innocent here.
Even those who say it was Lyn-Z who brought his true personality to light, what of all the Eliza drama? We just didn't realise it back then...

Anonymous said...

I also agree that Gerard is easily led and that he tends to adopt the personality of the people that he's hanging around with. But, let's face it, Gerard chose LynZ and he chose MSI to be his besties. Before that he chose Eliza and the WMHC.

If he's so innocent then why does he continue to choose such horrid people to share his life with?

Also, I think that accusing him of being such a complete non-person that he lets the women he's with decide his belief systems for him is even worse than accusing him of being a liar and anything else we've said about him here. I could never respect him again if that were the case, even if he suddenly renounced MSI and everything they stand (or rather don't stand) for.

Anonymous said...

^ It seems it's only people he "loves" that have that effect on him.

The strange thing about Lynz is she is very unpopular with traditional MSI fans who preferred their old bassist Vanessa. Maybe that one could actually play.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Vanessa's stage act consisted of more than just stomping around in big boots, trying to make sexy faces (and failing) and doing backbends.

Lindsey was merely window dressing in that band, yet she's about as sexy as a wooden pole. Most of the guys I know think she looks like a man in drag.

Anonymous said...

I personally think Gerard and Lindsey were made for one another. A singer who can't sing and a bass player who can't play bass -- what a perfect match!

Nearly everyone I know has had an MCR concert they were going to either cancelled or one of the band members has not been there or (way, way back) Gerard was drunk off his ass and could barely stand up.

I don't know of any other band who disappoints fans as often as they do.

Anonymous said...

^
I saw them in February 2007 (my first concert too) and Frank wasn't there. I can forgive him for that though because of his bad immune system.

Anonymous said...

I've seen MCR twice. Once without Mikey and once when Frank was sick and he stood at the side of the stage and didn't move the entire show.

I was supposed to see them in September of 06, but they cancelled because of Bob's injuries.

I don't 'blame' them for being sick or whatever, but it just seems that they are a very unreliable bunch, a 'bad risk' if you will. They seem to have a black cloud following them around in terms of their health, whether because of accidents, mental health problems or immune system issues.

I would never spend a lot of money on airline tickets and accomadations to see them unless I was willing to risk losing that money.

STAY OUT OF MAYO"S!

Anonymous said...

^ what is that for?

Anonymous said...

What the hell?

Why on earth would we want to go to Mayo's? It's not Gerard's blog and even if it was we don't care.

Besides, isn't it completely dead anyway?

Anonymous said...

Mayo's. LOL. Who gives a shit about Mayo's?

Anonymous said...

What's "Mayo's"?

Anonymous said...

What's "Mayo's"?

It's a blog that has nothing to do with anything.

Megan said...

Looks like I missed something. Gerard is claiming he's having a medical problem with his vocal chords?

Did he ever consider that this could be a sign from God that he's really just not meant to sing?

And I'm surprised about Frances guesting on that track; Courtney has previously made comments that F. would have to "step over my dead body to get into the music business."
But I guess Courtney's not really in charge of Frances anymore, considering...

Anonymous said...

The tabloids and Amanda Palmer (ever the publicity whore) have played up Frances' involvement with that project way more than they should. "Gang vocals" aren't much more than a whole bunch of people singing at once. You probably won't be able to distinguish any one person's voice from another.

Megan said...

Oh, I see.
It's kind of sad that they're using her name to garner attention for the project. She is so exploited by these wannabe Kurts.

Anyway, my thoughts after reading some of these comments about Lindsey:
I don't think Lindsey "ruined" MCR, because at this point I've really moved on in my musical tastes and I don't even honestly think MCR was ever that good. Bullets had some nice songwriting, but the vocals and musicianship weren't really there.
I also don't think Gerard is being "led" by Lindsey.
Rather, I think that as others have point out, there's the fanfiction Gerard, and then there's the real life Gerard. Fanfiction Gerard went to art school, drinks sophisticated coffee, goes to art museums when he's in Europe and reads Irvine Welsh on the tour bus. Real life Gerard is from Jersey. He likes muscle cars, tattooed women, he likes to say "fuck" a lot, and he's 32 and still very involved with comics. He actually ISN'T that classy.

The perfect match for real life Gerard? Lindsey. She's a pretty simple girl, not too smart, she loves Gerard, and she probably thinks he's a genius, making him feel great about himself.
If you want to know why those two hooked up, just watch Life on the Murder Scene again and pay attention when Gerard's mom is on camera. Typical working class Jersey woman. Gerard married someone just like her. He isn't trying to raise his status, he's happy like he is.

Anonymous said...

I agree with you, Megan. I think fans had a fantasy Gerard in their heads who had absolutely nothing to do with the real Gerard. I also think he and Lindsey are very well matched.

Lindsey is perfect for him. I think someone once mentioned she seems the female version of him, which I think is the case. People just won't accept he's rough around the edges, even though he went to art school.

Anonymous said...

I'm not going to disagree with their compatibility, however pandering to someone's colossal ego, as opposed to their poor self esteem, does not help that person. Self worth is not derived through ass kissing.

THIS.

Anonymous said...

I totally agree about thinking Gerard was different back in the day. He didn't have any tattoos, he went to art school and he was pretty in his photographs. When Eliza came along I was like, "What? He can't possibly be attracted to someone so... common, so uneducated!" Then Lindsey came along and in many ways was even worse.

It's time for people to realize that Gerard is just as common, just as uneducated (when it comes to things like culture). He knows about comics and how to draw them and he knows about a lot of rock bands. That's about where his knowledge ends.

He'd bore me to death, I'm sure. He needs a woman who isn't too terribly smart.

Anonymous said...

It must be dumb heaven on that mountain! If he was such a simpleton all along, he couldn't be responsible for the lyrical content of their songs. Who would have been responsible? *coughfrankcough*

Anonymous said...

If he was such a simpleton all along, he couldn't be responsible for the lyrical content of their songs.

Honestly, I don't think the lyrics are all that brilliant. Yes, he can turn a pretty phrase, but a lot of the lyrics don't really make a lot of sense (see GOY).

Also, the lyrics changed drastically from the first two albums to TBP. IMO, the lyrics are less nonsensical but not as pretty on TBP. There was a lot of speculation that Rob Cavallo helped with them.

I wonder if maybe Matt Pellisier was responsible for a lot of the lyrics on the first two records? It really does make sense when you think about it.

Maybe he and Lindsey were really fucked up on drugs and he told her he was going to write the ultimate love song for her, resulting in The World is Ugly. Lindsey probably thought it was amaaayzing because of her altered state.

Have you read this blind item?

This musician is a very sensitive soul. Apparently, although he pretends to have a very stoic public persona he is actually obsessed with his public image. He follows every possible blog and article written on him and takes it all very personally. When someone comments on a blog, he reads it. He even takes to commenting himself. He does not take criticism well and does all he can to shift with the wave of public opinion. Although this is difficult to those around him, he has found someone who wants just as much attention as he craves, so it works out pretty well. The only sad thing is, if we, the fans were to tell him we thought he should change in any way, he’d probably do it.

I doubt that the people who make those blind items know or care enough about Geetard to make one about him.

Although, I do believe that he does do those things. I know people who insist that he did have an lj sock and that he commented on stafoo. He also became very angry at fans who were holding up a stafoo sign once.

I don't think he would change anything to appease fans, though. In fact, I think he does the opposite of what people want him to do, like a little child.

Sarcasm. Frank Iero isn't the only person who can use it.

And I may as well ask while I'm here, does anyone know of any other good bands that have a similar sound to Nine Inch Nails?

Why don't you try 'Filter'? Richard Patrick was a band member of NIN.
Great music.

Also, I don't think that the BI is about Gerard either. He's too irrelevant and unknown to have people write BI's about him, but it just fits so perfectly and I thought I would post it here so that people could have a laugh.

Anonymous said...

This.

But I do agree that he probably does read everything that's ever written about him.

Anonymous said...

If you like NIN, listen to Skinny Puppy. Trent Reznor ripped them off to style his sound.

Megan said...

If you like NIN you'll probably like Marilyn Manson (Antichrist Superstar was actually produced by Trent).

I think the Blind Item is more likely to be about Trent Reznor than GW, but since they said "Not John Mayer" it could be someone a lot more pop/mainstream like Pete Wentz.
I don't think Gerard has ever even pretended not to care about what is said about him. I can definitely picture him searching blogs for his name.

Kinda like the MCR fandom.

If these guys don't get a record out there soon people are going to be saying, "My Chemical Who?"

Good riddance then. It's not like he really cares. He has his life with Lindsey, their baby and their hardcore friends.

Anonymous said...

Oh, he'll care. When he can't pay the mortgage on his million dollar house and has to move back with Mom's in Jersey, he'll care a lot.

Anonymous said...

I doubt his mom would want the three of them moving back in her house.

Anonymous said...

Gerard'll be fine. He has his comics. Frank and his wife have their company and Bob is really well connected back in the Chicago music scene. So yeah, sucks to be Ray and Mikey then.

Anonymous said...

I think Ray would easily get offered something. And Mikey will get something through one of his friends or Gerard.

Anonymous said...

I hope Gerard can make enough through his comics to support that wife of his and his daughter.

Anonymous said...

Unless you're somebody like Grant Morrison it's damn hard to make a good living off of comics. And Gerard Way is no Grant Morrison.

Anonymous said...

I kinda wish Ray would start a band with people who are more to his standard music-wise.

Anonymous said...

I think if Ray got out of MCR he would actually be seen by his peers as a serious musician.

Anonymous said...

hell gerard might even have to get a -gasp- normal day job. though idk what he could land with an old art degree and no related experience for as long as he's had it.

Anonymous said...

I can see he & the Mrs. turning to ebay, selling old MCR memorabilia and her paintings. After paying Warner back all the money they owe them, I don't see a lot left over. He better get his vocals under control so they can hit the road again. That's where the money is made. Frank and Ray probably have the best chance at a career outside of MCR, with Skeleton Crew and Ray's abilities. Lindsey may have to go bag herself another rockstar, one with staying power.

Anonymous said...

They won't want her. She was lucky to get this one.

Anonymous said...

They won't want her. She was lucky to get this one.

Seriously. She was in MSI for how long before she managed to snare Gerard and finagle an early retirement? I never heard of her being involved with any other band guys before Gerard. In fact, I never heard of her at all before she got with Gerard.

Anonymous said...

in one of those mind numbing interviews she did she said something about a dolly parton punk cover band. nothing came of that obviously.

happyXamp said...

ordered a tofu scramble for brunch and got a giant hunk of bacon in it. as a non-vegetarian i was delighted. a salty gift from the heavens.

i hope iero chews her out for that

Anonymous said...

why? it's not like she's vegetarian and bragging about eating meat. if frank was one of those vegetarians who guilt trips everyone who eats meat that'd be sad

happyXamp said...

i dunno just hope that he does, its kinda similar to how i want some magazine to call her and GW out on their bullshit

Anonymous said...

yeah. just of all the idiotic things she says the bacon thing doesn't rate very high imo.

I feel really bad for Brian. All the MCR fangirls must be bothering him because he's usually nice on Twitter and he tweeted this.

My account received a pardon. In the meantime, if your are critical, negative, can't take a joke,or wanna talk MCR. Get lost. Nobody likes u about 9 hours ago from Twittelator

Anonymous said...

what does he mean by "received a pardon"

Anonymous said...

I think it had to do with him going to delete his twitter account. He was going to as far as I knew. Maybe he did and then restored it. He says he's keeping it now.

He should stay out of the kitchen if he can't take the heat.
I'm so sick of those wannabe stars who create Twitter accounts and then only expect to receive brownnosing comments from their fans and have a nervous breakdown if someone or even more people dare to send critical tweets or inconvenient questions.
They want to be acknowledged, they want their high number of followers to brag about but they're too fragile to face reality and realize that not everybody loves them and that people who are not impressed by their 'celebrity' status also have access to Twitter and treat them like everyday people and call them out on their bullshit.

Awww, boo-hoo! Go back to kindergarten, Brian and take that pitiful bunch of MCR and MSI idiots with you.

Anonymous said...

I don't think it matters if any of them are on twitter. If people's reactions bother him so much, maybe he should make his account private not to attract attention.

Anonymous said...

i hope iero chews her out for that

Why should he be in the position to say something to her? Isn't he wearing leather belts, shoes and jackets? If you're a vegetarian because you don't want animals to die for you then you should go all the way, otherwise you don't have the right to judge others on their eating habits.

Anonymous said...

If people's reactions bother him so much, maybe he should make his account private not to attract attention.

Exactly, but that's the crux. They want the attention. If Brian doesn't want people to ask him questions about MCR then why does he have a public account? After all, that's what he is known for; having been the manager of those idiots.
Why does he have a Twitter account in the first place? Does he think that people will offer him jobs as a stunt man via Twitter? Does he have to have a Twitter for professional reasons? I don't think so. He's just an attention whore like the people he used to work with. And just like them he doesn't know how to distinguish between the fantasy world they're living in in which everyone admires them and thinks they're the second coming and the harsh reality in which they're just as unimportant and irrelevant as anyone else.

Veggies are pathetic. There is no way to live in today's world and not use animal products. Things just aren't set up that way. Therefore, veggies end up being hypocritical without meaning to, but thinking they're doing it to help.

It'll never work.

Anonymous said...

LMAO you ass. I live quite well without any animal products or anything tested on animals.

But obviously you are a troll so I don't even know why I'm answering.

Probably Mya anyway. She always had a problem with veg's.

Anonymous said...

No - even water is tested on animals to make it safe enough for us to to drink. Every drug you take, most cosmetics and domestic products you use, contact lenses you wear, and tested on animals. It's terrible, but true no the less. I'm not saying I think it's right, but it's cheap, and how all governments work.

happyXamp said...

i always wondered if vegertarians could use oil/petroleum whatever its called. Cause its made out of fossilized plants and animal bones... :/

Anonymous said...

But still, there's a difference between testing cosmetic products and testing for science.

Anonymous said...

Most vegetarians are opposed to eating meat because of personal choice. They don't do it to 'save the world' or whatever. I personally just do not feel right eating animal flesh because I know that animal was once a leaving, breathing, sentient being. I have no delusions that I'm even making a dent in putting an end to animal cruelty, animal testing and research, etc.

Plants are living things too which we kill when we harvest them and eat them. It's just a fact that living beings have to eat other living beings in order to survive. It's just easier for me knowing that plants don't have nerve endings and they don't scream quite so loud as animals do when we kill them.

Anonymous said...

No! We can test drugs without using animals. Science is sophisticated enough to do that now, but the gonverment won't fund it. It's disgusting, but unavoidable - I hate it.

Anonymous said...

Someone doesn't understand vegetarianism.

Anonymous said...

All vegetarians are not alike. Not all of them are crazy PETA members. Also, there is a difference between a vegetarian and a vegan.

It's a lifestyle choice, not necessarily a political statement.

Anonymous said...

Does he have to have a Twitter for professional reasons?

If you look at his follow list he actually does have film producers and actors on there. I think it's mainly for fun, though.

If he was such an attention whore, he'd have started a public profile years ago, when the fanbase was all over him. He has kept his Facebook private and told fans he won't add them on that account.

I think he said that he's keeping his twitter open because he was humbled that people were interested in what he had to say, even though he's not 'connected' to MCR anymore. A few idiots started flaming him because he wouldn't answer questions about MCR and because he made a few negative comments about Fall Out Boy, and I think it genuinely suprised him how nasty people got because of it. I fully agree that if he can't face the heat he should get out of the kitchen, or learn to take what he dishes out, but I really don't buy the idea that he's an attention whore.

He just seems like a very normal, down-to-earth dude who is at worst a complete noob to how bandom fans behave on the internet.

Anonymous said...

10:48, I'm pretty sure he's made tweet after tweet about the fact that he isn't going to comment on anything to do with MCR, because people kept asking him questions.

He seems like he really wants to move on and not be seen as 'that dude who managed MCR' anymore. If a Twitter account helps him do that, then so what? He just needs to develop a thicker skin when it comes to crazy internet teenies.

Anonymous said...

I think if you worked as a band manager you should be aware of the fact that fans can behave really crazy sometimes and I think it's quite naive of him to create an account and then be surprised about people wanting to know things about MCR and also getting mad at him if he doesn't spill the beans.
Just like I said, that's what he's mainly known for.

Anonymous said...

I guess it's easy to put up a front when you're at work and dealing with fans and their behaviour in venues. The internet is a little different, and since that's not his job anymore, I can see why he's not prepared as well.

Honestly, I think he comes across as still very sensitive about whatever went down between him and the band. I'm willing to cut him a break, since he's always been professional and polite when I've met him.

Anonymous said...

It creeped me out so much that one of the 'fans' ordering him to answer questions about MCR was 'Kristens_crotch'.

Anonymous said...

What I don't get is, why won't people ever say anything about MCR ever? I would have thought we would have had some kiss and tell or ex-manager saying something, anything, but no one ever does. Could it be because they are just nice guys with no dirt to share?

Anonymous said...

The most probable answer is that in Brian's case, he is unable to 'tell all'. I wouldn't be suprised if Warner had some legal gagging order over him, and maybe everyone else who's been thrown out with the trash in the last few years.

Anonymous said...

But how/why would they force someone to do that? Surely there is freedom of speech?

Anonymous said...

Yes, but there is also a potential lawsuit, or maybe withholding of severance pay unless such an agreement is signed. It's really not uncommon in entertainment circles for terminations of contracts to end with such 'gagging orders'.

Kapunua said...

Wow. SOmeone is either a troll or honestly does not understand vegetarianism / veganism. And there are all different kinds.

I've been a vegetarian for just over ten years. I also don't wear leather, suede, or any other animal products. And I make sure none of my household products are tested on animals, too. There are safe companies; many of them small companies, or from the UK. (Because they don't do animal testing over there.)

I also don't take medication. Tylenol, Robitussen, Pepto Bismal, Midol...None of it.

I'm not a vegan because I still eat eggs (free-range grain-fed,) chocolate (fair trade) and ice cream (cruelty free.) I also use local honey. Some vegans won't even touch honey.

There have been times when things get under the radar. Like, I used to love Burt's Bees, and I bought it for a long time. Then I read that they had quietly sold their business to Clorox, which is a big animal tester.

So, sometimes you slip up. But the idea of it is doing the best you can under the circumstances.

Troll, if you want to make light of that, or if you think that doing your best is "pathetic," then I feel pity for you.

But say, if there were any groupies/drug dealers/stripper/anything else sordid, something, somewhere, would have got out? Just some timy snippet. But nothing, NOTHING.

Not a sausage.

Anonymous said...

Jeez. Look how many years Tiger Woods was able to carry on with his illicit activities and nothing got out on him up until just recently. And MCR are nothing compared to somebody like him.

I'm sure they have skeletons in their closets. It's just that nobody in the press really cares all that much. The National Enquirer isn't likely to pay some groupie a bunch of money to spill her story about a third-rate musician in a virtually unknown band.

Anonymous said...

Good point. It just bugs me that, despite all the obvious idiotic activity, not one person can come forward and prove any of it, in their own words.

Anonymous said...

You need proof that they're dickheads? Look at everything they've done and said in the last few years.

Anonymous said...

I have looked. But I never know why Eliza never said anything, Kat never reared her head, Brian never says anything, or that ex-drummer. I find it really odd and always have. I think they had them all killed and replaced with lookalikes. Even in the tabloids people tell stories anonymously. Or online. Maybe it's because, other than them being stupid, there really isn't anything to say.
