Lindsey has no right to criticise other artists. She has no lyrical input (nor musical input from what I can see) in MSI's songs, so who is she to sit in judgement of what other artists like Taylor Swift (who does her own songwriting) choose to write about.
If she doesn't like those songs, that's one thing. But to talk about them like they're irrelevant and not cool when she knows that little MCR fangirls will base their music buying decisions on what she says is just wrong.

Gaga has said in an interview that she wasn't a feminist because she likes to do things like drink beer and hang with the guys... but isn't that what feminisim is about? Being able to do the things you want to do and not feel restricted because of your gender? Idiot.

And you are right; it's about the choice to live your life the way you see fit, not the way it's expected because of your gender. Men need this sort of freedom too, so the concept behind feminism should not be exclusive to females.

When I was 3, I loved the shit out of Barney. My little brother loved the Wiggles when he was that age. They were age-appropriate.

My cousin is 14 and she's into The Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus and that 'Disney Kid' thing. I think they're good role models, to be honest. They have this wholesome, clean living image which I think is good for young people to look up to these days.

It is sad that some idols can't be completely honest with their fans, but they do so not only to uphold shinny reputations and keep record sales afloat, but to BE role models. It is also very sad that those same idols cannot just be kids themselves, I agree. But such is the Entertainment World. Blame their parents for allowing them to be taken in by it. You shouldn't punish the children for doing as their parents wish. Would you go against you're parents at such a young age? The difference between us and Lindsey is that we aren't influencing a large group of young girls to think another artist isn't "cool" or vice versa. How many MCR fans who thought they hated "Lady Caca" (as one of them called her on ONTD) are going to run out and buy her record now, just because Lindsey said she likes her? How many of them used to like Avril Lavigne or Paramore but have decided they don't now because of Lindsey?
Of course, what Lindsey hasn't figured out is that Paramore is probably more popular than MCR right now (and certainly MS), especially now because of their association with Twilight. So, maybe, instead of deciding not to like Paramore because Lindsey doesn't, a whole lot of those impressionable girls might decide to dump their MCR and MSI CDs off at the Salvation Army where they'll sell for a buck (if they sell at all).

At PR, Gerard was looking better than he had in a long time. He was thin, his hair looked good and although he sounded shit, his make-up onstage was perfect. I remember thinking he looked as good or better than he did on the Revenge tour.
Now he looks like a slob.
Lindsey's look might not appeal to us, but she obviously does put some effort into her appearance. She is always made up, she hasn't put on baby weight and she doesn't go out in public looking like she just rolled out of bed. She probably doesn't like Gerard's drunken slob look.

I never found Gerard sexually attractive, but that's not to say that I didn't like the way he looked. He was oddly attractive in an "I like looking at this person because he doesn't really look like a guy and he doesn't really look like a girl, so what the heck does he look like?" kind of way. I suppose I was one of those people who thought of him as some kind of asexual space alien or something.
Whatever it was that he had seems to be long gone now. Part of it is that he's getting older and his face just isn't the same, but part of it is that he doesn't have the spark he used to have. His eyes are totally different and he doesn't seem to connect with anyone onstage. I remember when he was actually kind of gracious to fans, which made him seem much more attractive.
Now he just seems like some washed up singer who got chubby faced and lost his voice and what looks he used to have. I would feel bad for him if he wasn't such an asshole.

As you are an adult, that is exactly how it should be for you Siobhan. But it is different for children, teens. They need something, someone, to let them know that they CAN someday lead themselves. That is why 'teen idols' have so much influence. The kids do need them. It may be sad and innappropriate, all complete bullshit; but I'd rather them have someone who is at least TRYING to look like a better person, than, as you said, someone like Piss Pot.

As a mother myelf, I totally understand what Lindsey was saying about babies not being what you thought when they're first born and about it being tough. Being a new parent is the hardest thing I've ever done. I also understand what she meant when she said she had fallen hard. It happens, hopefully, with every parent.
But it doesn't change my mind about how I feel about her. I think she has brought a baby girl into a world that she has made just a little bit tougher for girls by perpetrating the notion that women don't have to have talent or brains as long as they're decent looking and can show some skin.
Parenting has many facets. Part of it is loving your child and taking care of its immediate needs (food, shelter, clothing, snuggles, etc.). Lindsey seems to be doing that.
Another part is teaching your child values and attitudes that will help her succeed in life. With her attitude about a woman's place in society, I think Lindsey is failing in that area.

I think Lindsey does love her, but she might not be able to handle her when she stops being a cute little baby and starts getting into things. Babies are much easier to handle than preschoolers, you can strap a baby into a car seat and trust they won't go anywhere or break anything. But that's just a prediction based on what I see now, hopefully it will be better in reality. I don't know what to think of Gerard in regards to parenting, I see him burying himself in the band, or if that falls through comics or art. He's a child himself still, I don't see how one child could raise another.

Stop taking jabs about Amy's appearance. It's petty and she doesn't look like a man at all. Unlike her sister, she hasn't done anything to deserve what is being said about her here. She helps saves lives, so you might not like her outsides but she's got to be a great person on the inside to do what she does everyday. She's obviously intelligent, caring and wanting to make a difference. There are loads of other jobs where she could get more money and do less hours.

Kids at my high school used to wear Nirvana t-shirts and Zeppelin t-shirts and Ramones t-shirts, etc., but if you went up to them and asked them what their favorite song by that artist was, they would have a hard time even naming one. Lol, except Led Zeppelin and then they'd always say Stairway to Heaven, which is probably the best known, yet worst song they ever did.
Rise Against is very vocal about things they believe in -- specific things. That's one of the reasons I like them. They don't just throw out some stupid soundbite like "we're a band to save your life". (LMFAO. How could anybody over 12 in their right mind actually fall for crap like that?)

Funny, but the picture of the red-haired girl doesn't look much like the other pictures. The picture with Lindsey in it does look really filtered, so it might possibly be the same person, but I don't think so.

From what I've seen of Lindsey's twitter, she doesn't use it to talk to anyone other than her "famous" friends and the occasional response to a fan. She and Gerard don't communicate via twitter, and she doesn't communicate with her family or friends (who don't happen to be other musicians, artists, or the daughter of a dead rock icon) via twitter.
Twitter is used by these people to present an image to the public. I imagine when she wants to talk to her sister, she picks up the phone or sends an email.

I used to talk to some of my friends on lj, but that was just if I wanted to make a comment relevant to one of their journal posts. So I could see responding to someone's tweets, but when it comes to making plans or telling someone you miss them over twitter, well, that's kind of silly.

I'm just thrilled that someone asked her just what she had accomplished in life that she could be so critical of others.
Of course she pulled the "I'm a kid. I haven't had time to accomplish anything because I haven't become an adult yet," card. Which is true, but why does she insist on criticizing those who have done things in life at young ages. She should direct her criticism at Disney or perhaps society at large, not at Miley Cyrus herself.
I've also noticed how she keeps throwing Jeff Buckley's name around. I adore him, but his music is a far cry from MCR's or MSI's. His instrument was his voice and it was miraculous. He did very little jumping about onstage while he sang. I'm quite certain Lindsey would have been bored to tears.

I agree with you. My guess is she really wants to belong in this group. That's very normal. I hope those people are also encouraging her to have some friends in her age group. She may regret missing out on things when she's older. Hope not.
If she were already part of the "adult" group, wouldn't there be nothing left for her to prove? Perhaps she's not truly accepted, despite what we see on Twitter, and is doing everything she can to do so. What I don't get is why she talks in complex sentences and references philosophy and music, when the people she wants to be accepted by probably don't know how to pronounce Nietzsche.
And this is just a minor thing, but it confuses me that she writes these elaborate sentences but doesn't use correct capitalization. If she said the things that she does but with proper grammar, she might come off as more genuine.
