Why are we not surprised?

So Gerard and Lindsey have a child and in true Hollywood style they named their new accessory "Bandit".

There's some psychology of feeling like a child is a pet, or just wanting to fit in with the "cool" crowd behind this but I'm not up to figuring it out.

What do you guys think?

there's gotta be more to it than that or he would have just stayed with eliza, she was a total fangirl for him from the beginning and that must have really boosted his ego.

I'm sure there is more to it than that. Eliza was perfectly willing to be Gerard's doormat, but she was also a bit of an embarrassment to him. After all, she was only a hairdresser. Being with someone like her didn't give him any kind of "punk credibility" and she certainly wasn't your average trophy wife. I think he dumped her because he got wise to the fact that people thought she was "unsuitable" for him.

Enter Lindsey. On the surface, she appears to be just as stupid as Eliza, but she's actually in a "band". Granted, her role in said band is little more than glorified pole dancer, but she has the tats and looks the part.

In Gerard, Lindsey probably saw both a meal ticket and the potential for free publicity for her shitty band, so I'm sure she was willing to do whatever it took (in the beginning) to boost his ego and make his every bedroom fantasy come true.

Of course now that she has little Bandit, she doesn't really have to be Gerard's dream woman anymore. He'll either stay with her or give her half of everything he has plus a ton of child support.

Maybe she's not so stupid after all?

thanks anon i completely forgot about that.... however ever since i stopped listening to MCR on repeat i've found that i enjoy music a lot more... That and I found a new respect for Rise Against... I love the singer's wife though her artwork for ALk3 is certainly neat!

No, she's still stupid. It's not smart to get married for money, just manipulative. She probably didn't want to continue playing in a shitty band with no future. She also looks terrible with all those tattoos. I can see her aging very badly.

Anonymous said...

That tatoo is going to look horrendous when she gets old and wrinkly.

An anon on here a while ago said that 'Emma and Paul' are back together, rumour has it. No-one else said anything about it and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I did become rather curious.

Also, I rad an article written about Eliza that said she had actually written that AWFUL 'Commit Me Already' story about her relationship with GW. Like that disclaimer she wrote about the whole thing being a work of fiction was believable anyway, hahah!

She might leave him though, which I can see. She must get bored of him - he has no personality afterall. I think if he was going to leave her, he'd do it after everyon had forgotten about MCR to save face and because I think his ego won't let him publically admit that he made a mistake. Especially when so many people said it was doomed from the start and that they'd never last.

Adam Lambert Finally Confirms: "I'm Gay"Us Magazine - June 9, 2009 5:37 AM PDT

Adam Lambert finally confirms his sexuality in the new issue of Rolling Stone (on stands tomorrow).

"I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," the American Idol runner-up says.

Look back at the Season 8 Idol's finale most unforgettable moments.

"I'm proud of my sexuality," continues the rocker, who was photographed holding hands with interior designer Drake LaBry earlier this month. "I embrace it. It's just another part of me."

But Lambert, 27, from San Diego -- who performed Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" on the Idol finale -- says he's not the poster boy for gay rights.

"I'm trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader," he tells RS contributor Vanessa Grigoriadis.

Lambert admits that he was nervous about coming out while Idol was still on the air because contestants are under a media embargo, and he wanted to do it on his "own terms." (He also says producers were open to him handling it however he wanted to.)

"I was worried that [coming out] would be so sensationalized that it would overshadow what I was there to do, which was sing," Lambert tells the mag. "I'm an entertainer, and who I am and what I do in my personal life is a separate thing. It shouldn't matter. Except it does. It's really confusing."

Lambert credits the FOX reality show with helping him gain self confidence.

"I finally checked into my self-worth for the first time in my life, and the fact that it coincided with Idol is so sweet," he says. "I mean, I still have moments where I think, 'Oh, my skin is terrible, and I'm a little fat -- I should really go to the gym more.' But for the most part, when I look in the mirror now, I finally see somebody who can do something cool

For more details on which Idol Lambert is attracted to, how he came out to his family, and what was going through his head when those photos of him in drag hit the web mid-season, pick up the newest issue of Rolling Stone, on stands Wednesday.

To bad Gerard can't be open and honest like Adam. I guess you really have to love yourself and not care about what other people think of you. Adam has balls. Gerard does not.

Lol. Trust me, the Followills do not want the fans from buzznet, nor do they need them.

This is the band who sold out the O2, not once, but 3 times, in less than an hour.

They don't appeal to the emo crowd, which is disappearing anyway, thank God.

Anonymous said...

Dear Buzznet,

Please leave Caleb and the rest of Kings of Leon alone.

Kthx

KoL fans

Anonymous said...

Are you KoL anon from Mayo, 10:31 or 10:43? If you are can you post more videos and picspam, pretty pretty please? If they don't want you at Mayo, we do.

Anonymous said...

Kings of Leon are so mediocre, musically. I don't understand the hype.

The only thing people talk about with them is that they think the guys are hot. If that is why you like a band, that's pathetic.

And this from a bunch of girls who claim to have "learned their lesson" after MCR. You're STILL falling for the all the bullshit.

Anonymous said...

Excuse me? Kings of Leon are mediocre in your opinion.

How much of their music have you listened to? Sex on Fire?

Do a little research. This band can count among its fans Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, U2, Eddie Vedder, Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, Justin Timberlake and Radiohead.

I suppose you think you know more about music than these people do?

Anonymous said...

Good call 1.03.

Anonymous said...

The Killers are KOL fans also.

Anonymous said...

Compared to who exactly?

I consider you deaf and unaware 12.46.

Anonymous said...

The arguments you have defending Kings of Leon are amazingly similar to the arguments fangirls made when MCR was called mediocre in the past.

Probably the same arguments all of you made at the time. Including your disgust and hatred towards anyone who disagrees with you musically.

Anonymous said...

The arguments you have defending Kings of Leon are amazingly similar to the arguments fangirls made when MCR was called mediocre in the past.

You make me laugh, anon. I have yet to see anyone here say something to the effect of "OMG, U R SO STOOPID. KOL IZ THE BEST BAND EVA!1! FUCK DA HATERZZZ!11!", so no, don't compare us to MCR fangirls.

I honestly don't recall any well known bands (especially legends like Chrissie Hynde) who have proclaimed themselves MCR fans. Do you have some examples?

KOL have been around longer than MCR. They've released four albums and an EP. They've won a Grammy and two Brit Awards.

Musical tastes are subjective. If you don't like KOL, fine, but don't come here and say we only like them because they're "hot" or that they've been hyped for no reason. You make yourself look like an idiot.

Anonymous said...

P.S.

Did anyone here show disgust and hatred for you, anon @2:08?

Nope. I don't think so. You might want to look into that persecution complex.

Anonymous said...

You guys are hilarious.

You make me laugh, anon. I have yet to see anyone here say something to the effect of "OMG, U R SO STOOPID. KOL IZ THE BEST BAND EVA!1! FUCK DA HATERZZZ!11!"

You are not saying it in such immature language, but yes, that is essentially what you are saying. A mature response to someone not sharing your fondness for a band does not include calling someone "deaf and unaware" or an idiot.

I was simply pointing out that, once again, all of you have placed a single band on way too high a pedestal. Maybe for different reasons then you did MCR, but you are still praising them.

Anonymous said...

2:08, it's okay if you think they are musically mediocre. Everyone has differing taste in music, and that's what makes the world go round.

However, I only see others disagreeing with you, not showing "disgust and hatred".

Anonymous said...

"I honestly don't recall any well known bands (especially legends like Chrissie Hynde) who have proclaimed themselves MCR fans. Do you have some examples?"

i remember reading or hearing that Velvet Revolver are or were fans.

Anonymous said...

btw i'm not the same anon

Anonymous said...

Nobody called you and idiot, 2:25. I simply said that you make yourself look like an idiot when you come in here with sweeping generalizations like "The only thing people talk about with them is that they think the guys are hot," especially given the fact that so many well-known and respected musicians are fans of theirs.

One person suggested you might be deaf, but I hardly think that compares to the idiocy shown by so many of MCR's fangirls when defending them. I certainly didn't see anything that even resembled "disgust and hatred."

I was simply pointing out that, once again, all of you have placed a single band on way too high a pedestal.

How exactly do you know that any one of us here have placed Kings of Leon on a pedestal? Some of us simply stated that we liked their music and someone said they missed the videos and picspam that used to get posted at Mayo. Once again, you're making sweeping generalizations.

Like I said before, if you don't like them, fine. Musical tastes differ. I'm sure that many others who post here don't like them. However, many, many people all over the world do. That doesn't mean that we act like 14 year old fangirls.

I just found this announcement of Bandit's birth at Spin online. They didn't say a word about Lindsey being a member of a band.

Lol @the comment from an enraged fan of Lindsey's at the bottom.

There was a blurb in this week's Entertainment Weekly announcing that "My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, 32, and wife LynZ, 33, greeted daughter, Bandit Lee Way on May 27 in L.A."

Seems she really is just "wife of blah, blah" after all.

Anonymous said...

Wow, that chick is really sucked in. Can someone please reply and tell the quote "femnazi" that "musicans" that pretend to play their instruments should not be recognized.

Elisabeth said...

Someone really should tell the "femnazi" that women like Lindsey who are only in a band for window dressing set other women back in terms of getting recognition in music. But seeing as how she thinks Lindsey is such an "incredible, magnetic performer" (lol) I doubt she would listen to reason.

Elisabeth said...

Oh and by the way, I happen to love Kings of Leon. I've been a fan for years and I usually find myself getting a little defensive and upset when people who have never heard anything but Sex on Fire and Use Somebody criticize the band. I also find myself rolling my eyes when people think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread when they've never even listened to one song from Youth & Young Manhood, Aha Shake or Because of the Times. Some of their songs are pure genius. You can only really judge KoL once you've given Dusty, Ragoo, Trani, Arizona, California Waiting and some other not-so-mainstream tracks a listen. Also, if you've never seen them live you can't truly appreciate them. They give the most amazing, spot-on live performances I've ever seen and Caleb's voice is nearly always pitch-perfect.

Of course, not everyone has the same taste in music. The world would be pretty boring if that were the case. One person's genius is another person's "mediocre". I can respect your opinion if you don't like the band.

However, KoL has a very loyal and devoted fanbase who got into the band because of the music. To say that "the only thing people talk about with them is that they think the guys are hot," is ridiculous and quite simply untrue.

Anonymous said...

No offence to anyone here, but I think KOL look like they've just wandered off a "The Hills Have Eyes" set after a hard day of harrassing and murdering a family........but I love their music.

Anonymous said...

KOL anons, I respect that you enjoy their music, though I cannot really say it's my thing.

But seeing as how she thinks Lindsey is such an "incredible, magnetic performer"

Well of course, that's how she got GW; through her magnetic performance ;)

Anonymous said...

I actually do like KOL but I'm afraid they might turn out to be like Nickleback. Huge but every song sounds the same.
But, they do play well live, the singer has an amazing voice, it's not about 14 year old fangirl hawt, which can't be said for MCR.

Anonymous said...

I actually do like KOL but I'm afraid they might turn out to be like Nickleback. Huge but every song sounds the same.

I think the reason some people think that is because the songs they released from OBTN are kind of bland. The best tracks on that CD are Closer, Crawl, Cold Desert and Revelry, but even those songs don't sound anything like Because of the Times which was a huge departure from their other work. If you listen to Use Somebody and then go back and listen to Molly's Chambers or Slow Night, So Long it doesn't even sound like the same band.

The guys have said that the next record will sound different than OBTN and I believe them, especially after hearing them perform their new song (fans call it "Lucyfer" or "Devil's Song") at their shows. It has a dirty blues feel to it which Caleb's voice suits perfectly.

I think KOL look like they've just wandered off a "The Hills Have Eyes" set after a hard day of harrassing and murdering a family...

Lol, sometimes they do look like that, for sure. Especially back when they first started out. But they've said that their record label was originally wanting to market them based on their looks, so they grew beards and long hair to avoid that.

Yes, I know way too much about this band. Lol.

Anonymous said...

But they've said that their record label was originally wanting to market them based on their looks, so they grew beards and long hair to avoid that.

I bet the same happened to MCR and they told the lable that they'd do anything to be superficial rockstars.

You're probably right about that. Gerard and Frank were like, "Where's the black hair dye and pass the eyeliner!"

Probably just a coincidence.

I'll have to go and dig up some vintage KOL interviews and performances for you. Here's a great interview where Caleb talks about rebelling against the record label. :D

Yeah, they did that whole thing kind of backwards, didn't they? You can't get fat and scruffy after you've already established a fanbase off of your looks. And Gerard won lots of people over with all his faux humble act in the beginning. It's not like most of the fans were into them solely because of the music.

Anonymous said...

LMFAO at Gerard and his hand gestures in that video. It's hard for me to go back and watch him now. I can't for the life of me figure out why I used to like him.

Anonymous said...

"It's not like most of the fans were into them solely because of the music."
Agreed. Their music on it's own is hardly phenomonal. I think what got to people was the whole where we came from, what we stand for, off beat, just like you bullshit.

Anonymous said...

"I can't for the life of me figure out why I used to like him."
You aren't alone. We were all some kind of suckers. They were just talking on the radio about Jon and Kate and how people feel bitter when they think they've been suckered. It applies here as well.

Anonymous said...

They were just talking on the radio about Jon and Kate and how people feel bitter when they think they've been suckered.

Exactly. I never wanted to "marry" Gerard Way or have his babies. The very thought makes me ill. I never even found him attractive (Frank, on the other hand...), so it always makes me laugh when the fangirls start that U R JUZ JELLUZ malarkey. I just feel like he suckered me into being a fan.

When I go back and listen to the music now I realize that it's nothing special at all.

happyXamp said...

they've become one of the bands that i don't go out of my way to get but if their on the radio i listen... if i do go out of my way to listen to them its only a handful of songs... like Demolition Lovers.

There was this chubby guy with that cute smile. Totally unaware of his talent and his charisma. He was shy, humble and extremely likeable back then.
Now he's an arrogant fucker, who has his head so far up his ass, that he can't realize how much he changed for the worse.
I think the first two albums were good, because he wrote the music for himself; as an outlet. TBP was written to impress the music critics and the fans. That's why it sucked. There are no genuine feelings anymore.
Gerard is only thinking What would other people find cool? What would make them think that I'm cool? What would make me immortal as an artist?

Anonymous said...

I remember downloading that interview the band did on The Black Parade that they had on iTunes right before the record came out. I also remember thinking in the back of my mind, "wow, this guy has changed." He sounded so arrogant and cocky talking about the songs. Then when the CD came out I tried really hard to like it, but it just wasn't MCR to me. Not that I wanted them to make Three Cheers II, but TBP was just missing something: heart, I think.

I totally agree that Gerard's aim in making that record was to create a "masterpiece" that critics would love, and in the process he lost that intangible thing that used to set their music apart.

Anonymous said...

I started liking MCR because their lyrics were different and I loved the atmosphere and stories behind the songs on Bullets and Revenge. There was a sort of darkness that I'd never really heard in other music and being a fan of horror films and the supernatural I was instantly drawn in.

I like the band members and the fact they weren't embarrassed about being loners or being bullied or the fact that they were all a bit nerdy. I think there was something in all of them that someone could relate to or empathise with. I like the fact they could admit they were flawed and I liked Gerard's honesty (haha!!!) when he talked about his addictions.

I loved their ethic and how hardworking and dedicated they seemed and how they actually had a message and they had something to say and weren't afraid to speak up for what they believed in.

I suppose, after believing in something so much it was a bit of a shock to watch it all fall to pieces as the whole band stopped the act and started slowly letting their real personalities out and the lies all start unravelling.

However, I've moved on to better music and I don't really care about any band's personal life anymore. If I like a band's music, I like the music, I'm not bothered about what films they like or what they do in their spare time or who they're married/engaged to or whatever.

Lol, sorry about the rant.

Siobhan, yes i think that is exactly how we felt about him in the beginning. Your also right about him being an arrogrant fucker! LOL!

Anonymous said...

He sounded so arrogant and cocky talking about the songs.

I know, I watched an interview from Download festival and I thought "fuck, he's an arrogant twat". It made me squirm, listening to him waffle on about how they were the 'greatest band in the world".

Anonymous said...

In the beginning, all the guys of MCR tried so hard to portray themselves as just regular guys. "We're just like you, blah, blah." Then they got big (not as big as they think though) and decided that they were the shit. Especially Gerard who seems to think he's the best singer, best comic book writer, and in the best band in the world. Seems his ego swelled enough to match that literal big head of his.

Well, I've got news for him. He's a crappy singer. I don't like his comic and his band is a far cry from being the best in the world.

I used to like the music. It was catchy. It was different. But there's a limit to how long you can listen to songs about killing your zombie girlfriend, you know?

In the Black Parade I think they were overreaching and even though the critics (some of them) liked it, it wasn't exactly praised as a masterpiece and nearly everyone got tired of it really quickly.

I think at this point it's too late to go back to writing zombie/vampire songs. They aren't punk, no matter how hard they try. I honestly can't imagine what they're going to do next, but I think it's going to suck.

Anonymous said...

I like the fact they could admit they were flawed and I liked Gerard's honesty (haha!!!) when he talked about his addictions.

Yeah, that kind of reeled me in too. But I think in the end, Gerard was really saying "Oh, look how great I am. I was strong enough to kick my addictions all on my own. I'm the next closest thing to a superhero!"

Besides, now that he's been caught in so many lies, I doubt everything he ever said. Who knows if he ever had a cocaine problem or an alcohol addition. Maybe it just sounded good in interviews.

I definitely think he had substance abuse issues circa Pro Rev in '07 though, and that it resulted in his so-called amayyzing life with the woman of his dreams and their little Highway Robber, er, Bandit. I admit I'm just hanging on here to see what becomes of all that mess. Nothing good, I'd wager.

I'm sure Mama Way is thrilled with everything her sons do just so long as they continue to support her. When the money runs out or when Lindsey packs up and takes the baby and half of everything Gerard owns (whichever comes first) she'll probably have some choice words to say about both Lindsey and the choice of Bandit for the poor child's name.

Anonymous said...

They are terrible things to say to someone, however I have no sympathy for the way she conducted herself, and he is culpable as well.

I agree totally, but I don't think the fans should have got so 'involoved' in their relationship. It seems to me that he left her because of the negative attention she was attracting. That's just my theory though, that's probably not the reason at all, lol.

I do think the way she made herself so available for people to verbally attack her was her own fault though. If she had kept a low profile, maybe there wouldn't have been such a vicious backlash.

I think Gerard and Eliza were both as bad as each hother and I suppose they're better off apart.

And if you look at it its the reason everyone likes Jamia....i don't even remember the other twos name so... yea......... Their not rubbing it in everyones noses.. Although people i've talked to who have met them say that their a LOT NICER than Alicia.

Didn't Alicia also post something somewhere about getting married to Mikey and taking "care" of him??? I thought it was on myspace

Then again, my understanding was, she was cryptically intimating a relationship existed with him, and she did this through a very public medium. I would take this an an "invitation" for scrutiny.

Seems to me she was trying to get him to acknowledge their clandestine union of sorts. She also appears the type to enjoy attention.

My thoughts are, once you become recognizable, say too much in public, and others are just waiting to make your life a parody.

Anonymous said...

she openly admits she loves to be the centre of attention. i have no sympathy for her. if she had kept her pie-hole shut she might have even made it to the alter, then regardless of whether or not it worked out, she would have got half of everything anyway. interesting how both lyn-z and eliza wanted to live in California, huh?

Anonymous said...

I don't think he did. Sure, he's a complete liar but if you were his girlfriend, would you want to be seen in public with him? I think "Kat" was smart. I think she knew fnagirls would tear her to shreds so she kept under the radar.

Eliza is also a liar, so maybe the cheating part is true, maybe not.

Regardless, being betrayed is terrible. Only the people in the relationship know what happened, and it is between them.

Obviously some enjoy the attention because it makes up for what they feel is lacking within themselves. I personally would not like my life, nor my family's life, turned into a circus.

I think it's just an energy drink:

Dr Pepper Snapple Group introduces Venom, an energy drink for those wanting to experience thrill seeking adventures. Available in Black Mamba, regular, and Mojave Rattler, low-carbohydrate/calorie, Venom provides the bite that hard-core energy drink fans demand. Venom?s 16.9 ounce re-sealable aluminum bottle allows consumers to enjoy the product during multiple occasions, unlike most energy drinks in cans. The Venom energy blend contains caffeine, l-carnitine, guarana, ginseng and taurine, the hard-core ingredients that consumers are looking for in their energy drink.

Shit, it's hard-core! GW should love it then!

Gerard looks perfectly miserable.

That's because he's away from his ammmmmaaaayzing wife. Or he's finally realising what a complete mistake he's made and what a complete laughing stock he's made himself out to be. He could be tired for sleepless nights? I don't think he was as excited as he said he was in Kerrang about being a dad. Niether him or Mikey have mentioned the baby (in my book, a retweet doesn't count). Maybe things in the Way house isn't all sunshine and rainbows now little Susan has arrived?

That worries me.. one of my firends was told as a little kid that he were a mistake ( i'm not saying Susan is.... Since she who shall remain nameless planned her)and it caused a lot of severe issues.

Also GW said somewhere that he doesn't know where to begin.... Try starting ANYWHERE!!!! He's a fucking artist... in most art schools they tell you to paint all over the canvas when you start ouot.... not in one particular area.......

Anonymous said...

I don't think Gerard sounded all that excited in the Kerrang interview. Granted, it was in print and you couldn't hear his tone, but the words had a hollow feel to them - like when he talked about being excited about his engagement to Eliza.

It's also worrying to me that he still has not said anything about the birth. In fact, that statement in Kerrang (which was in late January I think) is the only thing he's said about the baby EVER (unless you want to count the "baby on the way" excuse for not wanting to spend $mad chedda$ on his Trans Am or his excuse making when people were telling him that a muscle car wasn't appropriate for transporting a small child).

Every birth announcement I've seen has just been a small blurb that gives a very generic "everyone is healthy and happy" comment from the "couple's rep", other than the one at MSI's website which quotes Gerard from the five month old Kerrang article and of course, Kerrang, which quotes itself. Lol.

So...is he ever going to actually say something about the baby? At least acknowledge that she exists?

Anonymous said...

Gerard's probably going to give an "exclusive" interview about it to Kerrang. Because it's such a well-respected and prestigious music magazine. LMFAO.

Anonymous said...

He'll play the baby card when the album's released like he did with DR. Trust me, it's coming.

Anonymous said...

The only thing is, I don't think a baby is going to help him sell anything. Sure didn't work with that Venganza crap.

A lot of teenies are put off by men with children - it brings home the fact that he's almost old enough to be their dad.

Bad move, Geetard.

Anonymous said...

It's pretty fucking sad that those two monsters are using an innocent child as a marketing tool.

Anonymous said...

For the most part I leave you all alone and let you have your bitter little rants, but I feel I have to say something here.

To assume that Gerard would use his child as a marketing device is wrong and terribly presumptuous of you. How can you come to such callous conclusions about someone you don't know?

Gerard is no monster. Most of you got into MCR because of him, so he must have meant something to you at one time. I don't understand why you can't give him the benefit of the doubt. You don't know what is going on in his life or what he is having to deal with right now.

At some point, Gerard and MCR made all of our lives better. I for one am grateful to him for that. Can't you have find it in yourselves to have just a little bit of faith in him?

They didn't make my life a "little better" even when i listened to them. Toliet paper and Dr Pepper make my life a little better. :)

Anonymous said...

Why should we have faith in Gerard Way of all people?

Sure, at one point I liked MCR and I enjoyed listening to the music and going to the shows. But, unlike so many of their fans, I still had other bands I liked to listen to. Those bands never preached to me or talked about women's rights or wanting to "save my life", which is all well and good because my life didn't need saving.

I still like some of those bands and I've discovered others, so it's not like there is a huge void left in my life because I no longer listen to MCR.

Gerard Way lied to me and to a lot of other people, so why should I "have faith" in him? He certainly doesn't have faith in his fans or he wouldn't have asked them to moan for him at his shows.

LOL! QFFT!

I don't know why Gerard doesn't mention the baby.
Perhaps, he realized that it is one thing to whore himself out all the time and tell the whole world when he took a dump and picked his nose, but it's a totally different thing to do that with his defenseless daughter.
After all, there might a bit of social decency and respect for his own kid left inside of him to leave Susan out of the press.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised, if he's only waiting for the right time to show her around. Maybe the proud parents are still in negotiations with Kerrang and Attention Whore Today about which one is allowed to print the first pictures of the Frankensteins with innocent child?

I also find it incredibly insolent to look so fucking bored in that video. Can't they put their act together for a few minutes to give a shout out to the summersonic festival in Japan? Fucking assholes.
I don't think they did this for free, so why not act like professionals and put on a smile and appear a lot more enthusiastic?
That's the thing with most musicians. They just don't understand that this is a JOB they're getting PAID for. A LOT!!!!

Anonymous said...

I thought the general opinion here was that he is a monster for not mentioning his daughter. Which is it?

I think that's a bit hyperbolic, isn't it? Nobody has said that he's a monster for not mentioning his daughter. However, if he is simply holding back on mentioning her until the record comes out in hopes of generating publicity to increase record sales, then I think that makes him a pretty sucky person.

He's been way too quiet for the past several months. He hasn't really talked about anything in a long time, not even stupid shit like cereal or D&D. And even the fangirls on lj were commenting on how pissy he acted in the Summer Sonic promo vid.

No, not really. I know lots of people who aren't fucking stupid assholes. Yes, everyone is capable of acting like an asshole sometimes. However, when someone acts like an asshole or an idiot in the public eye -- especially in a forum that is job-related and is supposed to be public relations oriented (which the MCR website and twitters are) -- it's stupid and unprofessional.

The fact that you think it's perfectly okay for so-called "professionals" to behave the way MCR does on their website tells me that you're the one putting them on a pedestal because apparently you think they should be exempt from criticism.
