In the time since I posted last, Gerard rented a monkey for LynZ, totally forgetting his support of PETA and animal rights. Jimmy Urine declared Gerard his best friend. The Black Parade Is Dead came out and everyone in the band thanked everyone, except Gerard who thanked LynZ, and then his parents as an after thought. Gerard moved to LA where he was seen with his new "posse" of friends, meaning LynZ, Jimmy Urine and his wife. A few more interviews came and went where he promoted MSI. And recently he wrote a message to MySpace trying to say how everything was cool with the band, yet what it really comes down to is Frank is touring with his other band, Bob just got our of surgery, no mention of whta Mikey is working on, and he doesn't know where Ray is. He also hinted that he is going to go see an upcoming MSI show, which is funny because of all of LynZ's protests that she doesn't want fans to go to their show just to see Gerard.
I feel really bad for the rest of the band now that Jimmy Urine and LynZ are Gerard's best friends. Didn't his band see him through the worst times, when he was suicidal didn't they pull him up from rock bottom? Now they are tossed aside for "inspirational" MSI.
Have I forgotten anything? I think there was more but I can't remember it.
This is mostly just to give you all some new space to talk.
It's really good to know that there are people out there who see through their pathetic facade.

«Oldest ‹Older 1601 – 1800 of 2207 Newer› Newest»Yep, what was the point of the feminist movement when all these impressional little BN kids see a number of women getting famous of their other halves. They're going to think they don't need a brain, just spring-open legs and a blog.
Yup. It's sad that even Oscar-winning actresses - Gwynnie, Angie - were better known for who (and how!) they were fucking at the beginning of their Hollywood careers. Same with J-Lo, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz..

The thing that sets the women on that list apart from Eliza and LynZ is that most of them have talent. Eliza and LynZ don't.

J-Lo was a fly girl on In Living color so she wasn't completely unknown. Penelope Cruz is more known for being a home wrecker. She stars in a movie with some well known actor, next thing you know he has broken up with the women he was with before and taken up with her. Angie has a famous father, once she started acting she was known more for being the daughter of Jon Voight . Both of Gwynnie parents are famous so she was known because of her parents as well. I remember hearing about Nicole way before she hooked up with her famous ex husband.
But most of the women on that list were nominated or won an oscar for their acting. That is something you are not going to win just because you are fucking some one who is famous. That take talent something those women have. Even J-lo, she was a well known dancer long before she fucked P. Diddy.
Those women also didn't talk about how upset they were for only being know for who they were dating. They went out there and worked their asses off to get their own fame apart from the men in their lives.
And we must not forget that J-lo's ass Is what really made her a house hold name.
^ Yeah, and she worked hard to keep that ass in shape with all that dancing, which requires talent. :D
Changing the topic a bit, but from the looks of their tour page, it doesn't seem that MSI is going to schedule any more shows after the end of October this year. If appears to have fizzled out, so hopefully, we won't be hearing from them for a while.
Eliza just ranted and had an angry meltdown on her radio show about all of her haters.
orly? i don't get why so many people still hate her so much. i mean yeah, i hated her when she was hinting around about gerard all the time because i thought she was lying, but turns out she wasn't so i don't understand what the big deal is.
i know girls on lj who hate her with a wicked passion. they still say awful things about her and make up all kind of shit like how she faked pregnancy. how would they know that? i don't like her but from the way they go on you would think she's the devil.

we can only hope.
If/when Gerard breaks up with LynZ, dollars to doughnuts she'll get the same treatment.
every week Eliza takes a call from this girl MT18 and she makes a fool out of Eliza everytime. she's a huge MSI fan. she got Eliza started on the rant she had tonight.
I think people don't like Eliza because she just won't quit. When she was with Gerard she wouldn't stay quiet about it. Even though he wouldn't admit to it publicly.
She is no longer with him but she is still using his name to stay famous.
7:49
Eliza is not the only one,Gerard's own wife is doing that too. he's just too stupid to realize it.
^Wot they said.
^ I know.
It was so amazing, not gonna lie.
lol at you 8:56
The rant she went on was pathetic and hypocritical. But what can we really expect. I mean, it is Eliza after all.
^ Why? What did the girl call her out on to cause the meltdown?
7:44 - I love you.
They were basically listing the things they hated about the "scene." MT18 stated she didn't like Jeffree Star because of the "I'm on fire like Travis Barker" bulletin. Eliza got all offended that someone didn't like Jeffree.
Then Eliza said she didn't understand why people were so bored with their own lives that they created hate communities about people. Basically went off on a tangent about how pathetic and sad it is.
MT18 then brought up the fact that Eliza's best friend, Miss E, was the mod for the biggest Eliza hate comm ever, OhIHateEliza.
Eliza then went on her rant about how she doesn't care about the internet, she doesn't care about what the haters say about her, she doesn't care what people think. So she shows that she doesn't care but having her friend create a hate comm? Classy.
crazzzeeeee...
o_o
hoshit.
Dammit, why aren't the podcasts up yet?!!
Eliza's written a blog about the incident.
Anyone know which hour she starts ranting in?
Awww. Look Frances has or is pretending to have a sleeve tattoo on her left arm just like her idol LynZ. Ain't that sweet?
Sorry, I ment pathetic.
I wonder when she's going to start flashing her vagina to people?
I don't really understand why everyone keeps bringing Eliza up on this blog. To me, she seems irrelevant at this point.
I agree that Gerard didn't treat her well, but we all know he's an asshole. I didn't like Eliza back when she was with Gerard and I don't like her now. Just like I won't give a flying fuck about Lindsey when either a) Gerard dumps her skank-ass or b) her skank-ass dumps him.
Eliza has already had her say about Gerard. There are no new revelations that she has to make about him. I say people stop giving her attention she doesn't deserve.
Soon MSI is going to fade into obscurity as well. They've had 10 years to make some kind of mark in music and the most they've managed to do is get a few posters in a couple of glorified teenie mags in the UK and to play a birthday party for a spoiled brat with a druggie mom that nobody really gives two shits about - and all of that just because their shit bass player married into a more famous band.
All of these people are a joke. Let's just laugh at them while we can and then move on to the next thing.
how can Eliza say she doesn't care about the internet and what people are saying about her? Miss E was the mod for a hate site about Eliza and she would tell Eliza everything people were saying about her. also, didn't Eliza have her "Web People" search out some shit on Gerard that made her so happy in that blog she wrote.
i actually like Eliza, but she's being a hypocrite in this situation.
All of these people are a joke. Let's just laugh at them while we can and then move on to the next thing.
Yes, but sadly they've made MCR into a joke. You can't be caught dead wearing MCR merch or listening to the music without being laughed at. Gerard's bad judgement has ruined everything for the fans and the other members of the band. I don't hate Eliza or LynZ - I hate Gerard.
I don't hate Eliza or LynZ - I hate Gerard.
I hate them all. :(
Don't worry folks, he'll be "spotted" somewhere public or show up at an interview for Umbrella Academy wearing/saying something stupid very shortly - within a month I would say.
It's the only way he can think of to keep people interested anymore.
God knows he's not keeping those few teenie fans on his merits alone these days. It's all about the shock value.
Actually, ^ he will. He's slotted to show up somewhere (probably as a prensenter?) at the Spike TV Scream Awards....
Because, Spike TV is EXACTLY what a feminist male who is bothered by the objectification of woman would support...douchebag.
^ Okay, I do understand why Spike TV invited MCR a while back ago when the BP came out, but why is Gerard invited? For his comic?
Anyways, I agree with most of you.
I hate Gerard for what he has done, he completly ruined such an amazing thing, but now that MSI is off tour I'm worried that Gerard and Lyn-Z might actually concieve. Even though Gerard doesn't seem like the "wanting to have babies, father type." it freaks me out that there can actually be a possibilty that he could have offspring with that woman. >_< *hurls*
All I have to say is, god bless their damn children, and I hope that their not severely damaged by their parents.
& Eliza is freakin' ridiculous, she makes it seem as if she's best friends with JStar, the whole scene is a joke and I agree with that caller. I think it's best that we all ignore Eliza, until she actually spills out some important information reguarding Gerard. Fuck! I wonder if she has any left. She annoys the hell out of me. Now I understand why I hated her so much.
Are MSI going off tour? It said on their tour page that new shows were being added daily, although they haven't added anything past Oct.31.
'If' has only been out like six months or so. It was supposed to be their 'break-out' CD, the one that was going to get them mainstream exposure. Surely they can't be finished this soon.
What is Spike TV?
I hope they don't have kids, the world does not need another baby born dependant on drugs and alcohol.
It was supposed to be their 'break-out' CD, the one that was going to get them mainstream exposure.
I don't know about mainstream, but the thing that's been getting the most exposure lately is Lindsey's crotch.
spike tv:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_TV
if you read the first paragraph it says its for "young adult males"
It was supposed to be their 'break-out' CD, the one that was going to get them mainstream exposure.
Ms suffers from the fact that nothing they do is original. When they were "hardcore Punks" they were still nothing but water down version o other more famous or notorious acts.
Even their mainstream CD (from what I have heard) is something that could be done by anyone of the female pop stars out their if they were given the right producer.
But it all comes down to this people know crap when they see it. No mater how much glitter or pretty pink pint you put on it. It's still a pile of crap.
paint
I think If ticked a lot of the older MSI fans off. In years past they talked about being independent and shunning record labels and radio airplay. If's whole format seems geared toward getting them on the radio. Teenies are too stupid to see through this kind of bullshit hypocrisy, but older fans aren't.
Teenies are too stupid to see through this kind of bullshit hypocrisy, but older fans aren't.
Too true. Seems us older pissed off MCR fans are feeling the same way!
Teenies are too stupid to see through this kind of bullshit hypocrisy, but older fans aren't.
yeh and at the end of the day they aren't young anynmore. isn't jimmy 40 yrs old? and the others aren't so far behind?

The age doesn't matter. They aren't very good looking so the teens will only stay until someone better looking comes along.
^ That won't take much...considering the people in that band.
And I'm including LynZ in that.
And this is coming from a fucking lesbian - I tried to see it, I really did, but I still have no idea what that man sees in her. She can flash her undies at me all she wants, but knowing its probably the same pair she's been wearing for a week....kind of kills it dead.

and as far as I know radio hasn't picked up on any of it. at least not any of the alternative stations here in dallas. they didn't even plug their show when they played here.
msi have run their association with mcr into the ground. they'll need something new soon if they're going to keep people interested. how about a high profile divorce filled with lots of mud slinging. that might keep me interested for a bit.
I don't know where you all have been, but MCR have been a laughing stock pretty much since they hit the mainstream. They've always had the "emo fag" label, back when the other members had more of a say in the band's direction, and before MSI came into the picture.
And really, if you're so worried about being laughed at for liking this band, maybe you missed the whole point. Whether or not it was ever genuine, and despite how cliché the "Rmy" has made it, the message behind the band is simply to not give a damn what anyone else says and just live your life how you want.
So it was not Gerard's bad judgment alone, or MSI, or even Eliza, who've "changed" things, because the rep of an MCR fan has been pretty stable, more or less, for awhile. It just seems to matter much more now, for some reason.
"Emo fag" of not, it didn't matter because to the fans, not only did we like their music but this was also a band with integrity to them because they had things to say that weren't like other bands. Because of this, no one felt bad about being laughed at. It probably made them more proud to be a fan because they were ridiculed for it.
They've now lost that because of Gerard's hypocrisy.
And this is coming from a fucking lesbian - I tried to see it, I really did, but I still have no idea what that man sees in her. She can flash her undies at me all she wants, but knowing its probably the same pair she's been wearing for a week....kind of kills it dead.
A-fucking-men sister.
Whether or not it was ever genuine, and despite how cliché the "Rmy" has made it, the message behind the band is simply to not give a damn what anyone else says and just live your life how you want.
That's what we thought. Then Gerard started giving a damn about what people thought about him and going against everything he'd always "stood for" in the past. At that point a lot of us realized we had spent the last couple of years being ridiculed for no reason.
I think maybe it's you who missed the point.
^yeah. i think the point is that now gerard has become not only a joke to the rest of the world but to us too - people who use to be fans of the band. i can't defend them to other people anymore because i don't belive in them myself.
Kind of off topic, but MSI's website has been down for a couple of days now. Not good, considering they're winding down their 08 tour. However will all their fans find info on how to buy tickets?
You think they were all too coked out to pay their server fees? Or maybe they snorted all their money up their noses? Where is Gerard's bank account when they need it?
Okay. That was freaky. Ten minutes after I posted the comment above the MSI site was back online even though it was out all day yesterday and at least a while Friday night. Probably just a coincidence, but maybe more people are reading this blog than we realize.
^probably a coincidence. msi doesn't give a fuck what mcr's ex-fans think.
Maybe their coked out minds forgot about forgot that Gerard has money in his account and your post reminded them of that fact and they paid their bill.
MSI don't give a fly fuck about anyone. They're a bunch of selfish little fucks who should have been drowned at birth.
No 1:43am, I think it is you that missed the point.
The only times I have heard anyone here mention they were embarrassed for liking this band was in the context of "because now the singer is a douchebag" or "because I was stupid enough to fall for such a cheap PR ploy", but never because of an "emo fag" label.
And even still, that is beyond the point. This blog is not concerned with the fan base, or what is left of it, and how it is seen by anyone outside the fandom, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for most people here when I say noone here gives a shit about the few remaining teenies left in it.
Which brings up the fact that the fan base has actually always been very unstable.
And who are you? You pretend to be neither fan, nor ex-fan, nor ever-was-a-fan, yet you seem to know alot about this fan base and are even reading an obscure blog with fans venting about one of it's members?
So let me ask you, who are you that you would care so much about the fan base of this band when you supposedly have no connection to it?
(p.s. Why should the members of this blog care about the band's message when it so clear that even the lead singer does not follow it?)
And really, if you're so worried about being laughed at for liking this band, maybe you missed the whole point. Whether or not it was ever genuine, and despite how cliché the "Rmy" has made it, the message behind the band is simply to not give a damn what anyone else says and just live your life how you want.
I don't think the message was don't give a dame about what anyone else says. It was more don't believe that you are meaning less. That you are important in this world and don't let people tell you you are not.
they also told you to get your friends help when you see they are in trouble.
Mcr have been a laughing stocks for a while but when they had that message and you believed that they meant it, you could easily defend them against people who were making fun of them.
Fast Forward to the PR tour and Gerrard has now become an over sex rock and roll cliche. He hooks up with a band that has no problem degrading people based on race, gender, sexual orientation or for just being one of their fans. Everything that Mcr said they stood against.
That is the reason people now are "worried" because they are being laughed at. Not because they missed the message.
A few pages back somebody made a comment about having people at her school threaten to beat her up for wearing a TBP tee shirt. She said she always used to defend the band because she believed in them, but she just can't defend them now because her belief in them is gone.
I think that perfectly illustrates how Gerard's actions have destroyed the "point" of MCR's so-called "message".
Unless the girl in the picture's name is Lynz, there is no reason why this sould be labled 'Lynz'. If it isn't her name I might kill myself from the fangirlyness (sp?)
should
why should that be under LYNZ? Teenies do not know how to organize.
They don't care about MSI. they only care about LynZ. The other 3 aren't married to Gerard. But they want to appear like fans which is why they will tag anything to her name.
POP QUIZ!
What's more offense than Lindsey claiming that her backbends justify her as a proper role model?
Answer: That it has apparently worked
She looks less than 14 for fucks sake!
*Pukes*
what tops it off is that her username is: mcrangel.
yeah, i wonder why.
Where the fuck are her parents. Where are the parent of all the children who think Msi are a wonderful band filled with role modes.
My parents would not have let me walk out of the house dressed like that. Especially if they knew I would be bending over backwards to show off my underwear.
What's disturbing about that is that she is probably dressing like Lindsey because she thinks Gerard is "OMG HOTTT!"
Which means that this girl has learned that dressing up in short skirts and (literally) bending over backwards for a man is the way you should get their attention.
This whole thing distrubs me....
http://www.buzznet.com/www/search/photos/lynz/?id=60788761&p=0
Get this image out of your head, if you can.
Lol. I just discovered Google Search Trends (in google lab) and it is so fucking cool.
For those of you who haven't used it, you can put in two different topics, separated by a comma, and a graph will come up comparing the search history of the two. It also shows a graph representing any news the topic has generated over the past few years.
If you type in Mindless Self Indulgence and just about anything, MSI gets nearly a flat line and they don't show up as having any news except for the teeniest bit that barely registers in 2008.
I typed in all kinds of things. Like syphilis. Turns out the world is more interested in syphilis than they are MSI. :)
P.S. Jimmy Page, Jimmy Urine? Let's just say no wonder JU hates JP so much. ;)
http://www.google.com/trends
In case anyone wants to try it for themselves. ^_^
Eww. That's gonna keep me awake tonight...
I'm guessing the girl who posted that photoshop didn't get the memo that LynZ doesn't want to be known as Mrs. Way?
do you notice that the people who are making these....things are originally fans of mcr?
do you notice that the people who are making these....things are originally fans of mcr?
Of course they are. MSI or LynZ didn't even have buzznet forums before she became Mrs. Way. And apparently, these fans don't read MSI's press or they wouldn't go against her wishes so blatantly.
I almost feel sorry for MSI. You all the time read comments from old fans saying things like, "they're so 2002" and their new fans are mostly MCR fangirls who aren't going to stick around long. They're just living on borrowed time.
"I almost feel sorry for MSI."
I would too if they hadn't have brought this upon themselves.
Above link.
That's the most disgusing thing I've ever seen. Bring back the vagina flaps.
Turns out the world is more interested in syphilis than they are MSI.
That's interesting considering the MSI is probably the cause of most people contracting syphilis.
do you notice that the people who are making these....things are originally fans of mcr?
Well, don't that say it all. There is no such as an MSI BN fan.
Of course they are. MSI or LynZ didn't even have buzznet forums before she became Mrs. Way.
Ready for an interesting fact? There was no media posted about MSI (pictures, videos) intil she started dating Gerard. Coincidence? Surely not.
"I almost feel sorry for MSI."
I would too if they hadn't have brought this upon themselves.
That's how I feel about it. If they had been grateful to GW or MSI and didn't act so full of themselves then I might have some empathy for them.
This is what Frances has to say about MSI on MySpace:
"the band are some of my favorite people in the world. so happy they played. i couldn't imagine anyone else doing it."
This is what Frances has to say about MSI on MySpace:
"the band are some of my favorite people in the world. so happy they played. i couldn't imagine anyone else doing it."
Quite frankly, I, along with most of the rest of the world, don't give two shits what Frances Bean has to say about anything. As far as I'm concerned she's just another sixteen year old kid.
When this was posted on various communities and gossip sites all over the internet, the only thing people were concerned about was her insensitivity towards her father's suicide along with Courtney's obvious lack of parenting skills.
Nobody cared what band was playing her ridiculous party and they still don't.
MSI needs to go after some really "famous" people if they want to really get their names out there, because the Gerard and Frances Bean association is only getting them attention on BN and in Kerrang -- dubious accomplishments, to be sure.
Ready for an interesting fact? There was no media posted about MSI (pictures, videos) intil she started dating Gerard. Coincidence? Surely not.
This is true. I remember googling LynZ and Lyn-Z when the rumors first surfaced about her and Gerard and the only responses I got were about some teenage skateboarder who goes by the name Lyn-Z. El-oh-el.
If she could imagine anyone else playing at her party then why did she try and get Smashing Pupmkins and MCR to do it first? Truth is, nobody wanted to play and she got suck with piece of shit band that were just looking for more exposure.
10:07 - I remember that too. I thought "WTF? Is Gerard dating a 17 year old?"
Lol. I just discovered Google Search Trends (in google lab) and it is so fucking cool.
What's really funny is that you can see exactly when Gerard started acting like a douche.
LOL and the pen is more popular than My Chemical Romance and Gerard Way.
What's really funny is that you can see exactly when Gerard started acting like a douche.
It's true, you can. His popularity rating starts going down in the latter quarter of 07 and pretty steadily declines. The sad thing is MCR's graph shows a similar decline.
Another thing that's interesting is that the band's search stats haven't been this low since 04.
You have to wonder how much longer they will have that record deal with WB.
No, I don't think they'll lose the record deal, but I think they'll be coming out with a new record much sooner than they made it seem.
Oh, yeah, you can even see a spike right when they got married.
Weird thing is though, it shows a pretty big spike about...a month ago (?). Why would that be?
Maybe it's because that was when the child of a dead rock star had a party.
I don't think they'll lose the record deal, either. What I think will happen is when they get together to try and record, Gerard will have major creative differences with the rest of the band. If they can get it together long enough to put another CD together, I'll be very surprised.
I think the spike for Gerard was probably when he won the Eisner award? Or maybe when he dyed his hair...orangey pink. People might have been searching for pics so they could laugh at him.
Good point ^
I think it will either be that, or the record company (because they are held to a contract) will pretty much force a new record out of them.
Either way, I'm not expecting the result to be good.
Plus, I think Gerard is a much lesser part of the creative process then he would like everyone to believe. I think he just provides ideas and concepts.
no, none of those things would make that big a mark. but you know what would...
the emo is suicide cult (daily mail)that march...that was alot of publicity.
Oops, I (4:01) was referring to 3:54
4:02, but wasn't that march 3 or 4 months ago. Around July or something?
Weird thing is though, it shows a pretty big spike about...a month ago (?). Why would that be?
His "don't notice me" red hair? I actually thing that spike was the MCR Protest on London right before the news report of MCR condems suicide. They made a statement AFTER the rally.
MSI's profile was very Skiey high about August 2007. It's not been that high since.
31st May.
^Yeah, that's too long ago.
I think it was Umbrella Academy that caused the spike. He unveiled it and did quite a few interviews for it about a month ago.
Around the end of May, MCR had the message on their website condemning suicide. That probably had something to do with it as well.
^Whoopsie. Sorry, you're right. That was too long ago. I think it must have been TUA related.
lol. the yellow.
There was no media posted about MSI (pictures, videos) intil she started dating Gerard. Coincidence? Surely not.
No, I actually remember searching "msi" or the full name awhile back, and saw some picture post about Jimmy Urine from 06.
Wow. Notice how The Used's search volume has stayed pretty consistent while MCR's has spiked all over the place and really declined over the past year.
Not a good sign for MCR.
^ Notice how The Used manage to keep their popularity relatively stable, even between records, and without cheap PR ploys.
Yeah, its the sign of a real, lasting band.
lol. Great minds think alike, eh?
I felt their Shallow Believer EP was a bit lackluster. They've been heading downhill since Lies. I don't know, the lyrics just aren't doing it for me like they used to. Although I think "Slit Your Own Throat" is the new "Pretty Handsome Awkward". Personally I feel that Bert is milking it too much. 2 songs is kind of pushing it, even if he IS right, ahaha.
I just think they're trying to find themselves right now. They aren't the same guys they were when they recorded their self-titled (which owns my soul, by the way), and they're trying to move in a new direction, which can't be easy.
But Bert has it in him to be an amazing lyricist and his voice is perfection. I'm betting on them to come out with a kick-ass CD this next time around.
^_^
It may not be their best song, but you've got to admit you love the line, "You're more turned on than anyone could be by yourself"
oh baby
"It's changed it in very numerous and positive ways, but I think that has more to do with the fact that I am married to the most perfect match I could have ever met," answers Gerard. "I create more now, I'm inspired constantly by my wife. I write more songs, start more comics, just create more in general."
Gerard Way
Replace "my wife" with "COCAINE" and I think he'd be telling the truth.
where is that quote from and is it new?
this is the full Gerard interview.
http://sequentialtart.com/
article.php?id=1119
There he goes with the "my wife" again. It's not how anybody normally speaks. It had already been established who they were talking about, and in any normal conversation the person would use a pronoun like "her" or even just use her name and say "Lindsey".
But, no. He always uses "my wife", and it always sounds so awkward and forced.
I think, based on the large degree the idea of marriage has been represented in his lyrics and in interviews in the past, he is obsessed with the idea of marriage.
He married his muse. That isn't a good sign. Tim Burton had a muse for a long time. He dated her and had her in i his movies. But once he meant helena bonham carter. Dropped his old muse for the new one
and Gerard's wife, punk musician and visual artist Lindsey Ballato.
The above link
"I think being the person that created the characters can present unexpected roadblocks because you are so close to them, know so much about them. Sometimes, someone that has a more limited knowledge of them, going on instinct, will have a fresh perspective on a character. I'm really happy with Seance now, and a lot of that has to do with Lindsey. He is particularly awesome in Series 2."
Holy Crap! He used her name. I'm sure Lindsey supplied lots of cocaine, providing lots of inspiration. Do you think it hurt him to say the L word?!
"Gerard has an amazing knack for titles," Scott says of 'Dallas'. "From the band's name, to the band's records.....
That was Mikey.
That isn't a good sign. Tim Burton had a muse for a long time. He dated her and had her in i his movies.
And now she's suing him for loads of money because Tim openly admitted Lisa Marie was the muse behind some of his roles.
Welcome to your future Gerard!
He's insane. Just leave it at that.
How odd that I've never heard Gerard make reference to Sid Vicious before. And all the reference to "punk"? What about Brit-pop and the metal bands that he always used to name as his inspiration?
He makes me sick. I cannot stand chameleon-type people who change their colors depending on their current environment.
I'd say he needs to grow the fuck up, but it's clear that's never going to happen.
When he mentioned punk, he only talked about The Misfits and Green Day. He's full of it.
^Yeah. Of course most of the time he was talking about Morrissey. Now that dude is hardcore. /sarcasm
Wow, Lynz's done a good job with amplifying Gerard's issues within the relationship to benefit herself publicly.
Perfect match, indeed.
Mr and Mrs Manipulation!
How odd that I've never heard Gerard make reference to Sid Vicious before. And all the reference to "punk"?
Given how much of an influence UK punk is in Grant Morrison's work and other comics of that period, it's not that odd. You can't mention every band you like in interviews and what influences you in one project may not influence you in another.
So in other words, he's changing his "influences" to fit his intended audience.
Like somebody said before: chameleon much?
6:25 - one you can't mention all your influences, but Gerard repeated his influences all the time - The Sex Pistols were never mentioned. Ever. I've never heard him reference a UK punk act before, just Brit Pop like someone said earlier.
Wow, Lynz's done a good job with amplifying Gerard's issues within the relationship to benefit herself publicly.
Perfect match, indeed
OK, that reads differently from what I intended. The perfect match comment was about it being a telling phrase given Gerard's pre-existing issues with being like whoever he's involved with and the ramping up of this since the beginning of this relationship.
So in other words, he's changing his "influences" to fit his intended audience.
No, more that different projects may have different influences. So Sid Vicious influenced The Umbrella Academy and Morrissey influenced MCR. THe same way that the influences of Leathermouth are different from the MCR and Pencey Prep.
No, it is very possible for different projects to have different influences. Until the TBP, Gerard had never mentioned Queen or Bowie before and never mentioned Morrissey or the Misfits ever again.
But then again, and he even said this himself, they wanted to be seen as a rock band, so changing your influences to match that makes since. Which only tells me that now he wants to be perceived as "hardcore punk"
Which is funny, because doesn't he remember that his attempt to become "classic rock" failed horribly.
Yes, and all of this still points to one thing: Gerard changes his personality, his likes and dislikes, his infuences, even the type of music her performs at the drop of a hat.
In other words, he's a chameleon.
Speaking of changes, how come no one ever discusses the enormous stylistic change in the lyrics in TBP.
People do NOT just up and change their style that drastically. Even over time, even through enormous life changes and experiences...writers have a certain style that is almost ingrained in them.
You can see that Bullets and Revenge were written by the same person, with Revenge being a bit cleaner. But TBP? There is nothing similar in those lyrics to the past albums, AT ALL. So much so, I know a few people have even suggested he didn't actually write them.
He mentioned the musical change, but always avoided talking about the lyrics specifically. He would discuss the concept as a whole, but deliberately avoided never going into the specifics of each song. Even saying things like, "I'm still finding new people and meanings inside the lyrics" or something similar to that. That is not what a writer says, just trust me when I say that I know....that is what a reader would say.
It just makes me suspicious. And curious. Do you guys have any ideas on this?
I know tl;dr - sorry.
There was one rumours about Rob Cavelli (sp?) writing the lyrics and a large proportion of the music as well as doing the producing.
IDK if it's true or not.
No, not him. Why would he do everything for a band to get no credit? He wouldn't...it would be someone else in the band, if anyone.
The only artist I can think of (off the top of my head) that made (and is known for) several stylistic changes is Van Gogh, and he was horribly mentally unstable and made those big changes because he was artistically insecure and just desperately trying to "make it".
Well shit, that actually sounds like someone we know, doesn't it?
Yep. It sounds familiar.
The only difference in the band between Revenge and TBP was BOB. It's possible since we, in comparison to the others, know so little about him because of his shyness.
Why would he do everything for a band to get no credit?
Money?
I always used to argue with people who suggested that Robert Cavallo "helped" Gerard with the lyrics on TBP. But, after hearing that God-awful The World is Ugly monstrosity and remembering earlier versions of I Don't Love You and Disenchanted, I'm not so sure anymore.
Gerard has always been able to come up with some pretty phrases, but they didn't necessarily make a lot of sense and didn't always seem to fit the songs. Comparing earlier lyrics to, say, House of Wolves, I have to say I see a huge difference.
I don't see to much of a difference in the write for TBP and the other two albums. But I feel a difference. There is a lack of emotion when I listen to TBP. Maybe Gerard wrote it but he didn't have any feeling invested in it like with the other two albums.
writing
Whatever Rob Cavallo did, he certainly managed to take away the rawness and urgency of the first two albums. I listened to them over and over, but I was bored of TBP after about a month or so.
I always thought the lyrics on TBP were too different to Bullets and Revenge, but I never wanted to mention it in case I was shot down by the fangirls for suggesting Gerard maybe didn't write it all by himself.
I preferred the first two albums myself. There was much more energy, emotion and raw beauty to them. Without that, I got so bored.
It was almost like listening to a different band play - yes, I know they had 'alter-egos' and all that jazz - but there is no need to change your sound and style so dramatically, especially if you haven't been around for an overly long time.
Can't wait to see what the new album (if there is one) throws out there. I'm betting the odds are good it's going to be all electro/hardcore/punk stuff. Like, oh I dunno... MSI maybe?
bet you it will be about raping kids too.
hopefully the other band members will just quit.
Somehow I just can't imagine Ray or Frank ever allowing a song like that to go through...but I don't think even Gerard would go there.
He's proved me wrong before, but I imagine it will all be similar to that "World is Ugly" pile of crap - all shallow, meaningless proclamations of love.
if the new record is anything like the remix he did of Sleep When I'm Dead, then it's going to be full of electronic shit.
at this point i wouldn't put it past the him to try and put out his own electronic solo record. his ego is so big i'm sure he thinks he doesn't need toro or frank.
^lol at 'the him'. i was gonna type 'the moron' and edited it but didn't take the 'the' out.
i shoulda kept the 'moron' bit in.
^_~
Fuck, Gerard needs to go listen to a real love song. I recommend "Layla" by Eric Clapton (the unplugged/acoustic version.
The guitar work alone is enough to bring me to tears. (and not tears of boredom like a certain bassist would experience - real talent can be such a bitch when you don't have any)

In case anyone was interested.
About the lyrics - anyone think the change between Revenge and TBP may have had to do with the drugs/alocohol?
I know most of you here are convinced he's still on it, but that aside, if his old addictions had as strong of a hold on him as he says, then it probably had a large effect on how he wrote, or even put thoughts together in general.

Ah damn double post.

Those were my thoughts but I was thinking it may have been medication he was taking for depression. They say that people who have talent with righting, paint and that kind of stuff lose their intensity when they are on medications.
That too, yes. I kind of included the pills in with drugs.
I am so fucking tired of Gerard plugging his wife in every damn interview. I mean everytime I try to ignore or forget his obsession, which he labels as "love" he happens to say things like the quotes posted above. I mean, damn! His wife seems to always be his only inspiration. He is so fucking blind. So damn pussy whipped.
Sometimes, I curse the day that I ever came across My Chem, but you know, I won't do that, because I don't think the other guys deserve that, and frankly Gerard doesn't make up the whole band. I just hope that his lyrics next time around aren't as silly as the one's he wrote for that damn song that they played while touring.
Shit! I know 15 year olds that could write better than that.
& I also wonder how truly "creative and inspiring she is." since he is such a damn cameleon, how bias are his opinions of her? Honestly, the man needs some intensive therapy. She's probably only "inspiring" because she's the only one that is currently sucking his fucking dick, oh the "feeding him lies" part also helps plenty.
Funny thing is, some part of me still hoped for some change a while ago, but until he's with this woman, nothing IS going to change.
I am so fucking tired of Gerard plugging his wife in every damn interview.
inorite? nobody else in the entertainment world seems compelled to mention their s.o. in every single interview they do. he's making himself look like an idiot.
his choice of wording bothers me too. "i couldn't have met a better match."
it sounds to me like he's trying to justify getting married to someone after knowing them only a couple of months.
^and yeah, yeah, i know they've "known" each other for years. because mcr opened for msi one time, what? six years ago?
please.
^Except Tom Cruise. That's who Gerard reminds me of.
tbf, that interviewer mentioned Lindsay specifically and he was responding to that.
^ i must agree, he didn't bring it up out of the blue.
He could have easily said that he didn't want to talk about his private life and focused the interview back on his comic.
True, but he wouldn't give up an open opportunity to mention her, because he's Gerard.
He probably CREATED the opportunity. He always seems to bring her up, even if she's no where never relevant to the question.
"Gerard, how do you feel about emos?"
"My wife."
"That is not what a writer says, just trust me when I say that I know....that is what a reader would say.
It just makes me suspicious. And curious. Do you guys have any ideas on this?"
I've been sceptical about this for a long time, and mentioned it on BN - managing to get the thread shut down, so violent was the fangirl reaction! Not only do the lyrics on The Black Parade seem far too much of a jump in sophitication from Three Cheers but he made that telling comment to Kerrang about READING the lyrics to I Don't Love You and realising that he had to dump his girlfriend. Of course, I strongly suspect that his girlf' canned HIS ass for cheating, but it was a very odd thing to say if he'd written them in the first place!
Ironically enough, the lesser his contribution the better, as it bodes far better for any potential album - I exactly can't picture Rob Cavallo/Random Producer Dude being strong-armed into writing an ode to "The Wife"®...
Woah, there's so much wrong - in terms of spelling and grammar - with that above^^ comment that I don't have space to edit them all!
Lol @ Lindsey being called a "graduate" of Brooklyn's Pratt Institute in the above article. After all the bragging she's done about being a drop-out, you would think they could get their facts straight.
Also, (and sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here) the writer/interviewer did preface the wife!/marriage questions with statements Gerard had made in other interviews about Lindsey. You know, like how she was his "inspiration" (despite the fact that she wasn't even around when he wrote most of it) and that she helped him to "get a better understanding" of Seance. (Although, that makes absolutely no sense to me. I mean, he created the character, didn't he?)
Oddly enough, I remember after the preview issue of TUA first came out, Eliza supporters were pointing out similarities between Eliza and The Rumor. Pretty damn funny, when you think about it...
Who's hotter while on tour, the goth chicks or the punk chicks?
They're kinda the same these days. You can't really tell them apart, but I have to say goth chicks cuz goth chicks are always hotter anyway.

How has success changed you?
It's made it so I really can't have any privacy. It's made so I can't be normal, can't live my life as I used to, but I still constantly attempt to live my life as I did.

^Anon 5.33 & 5.36, could you post the link to that interview?
I like to punish myself you see!
Too the person with the quotes - thank you. That was hilarious. I was having a bad day and you cheered me up!!
So, you know the pick-up line Eliza claimed she used on Gerard the first time they met? Do you think she actually said that or did she get it from this article?
^Wasn't that what "Emma" said to "Paul"? el-oh-el.
I can see "Emma" saying that to "Paul". After reading that, then I denfinatly think he cheated on "Kat".
From Eliza's "story".
He looked at her like he knew her. Paul said "What are you doing here?" Emma said, "I came to see a show..." She then stuck out her hand and said, "Hi, my name is Emma... And I was wondering if you would like to fornicate and engage in premarital sexual relations..." He looked down and chuckled a nervous laugh. Pauls reply, "do you have email?"
Fuckin' A...
But I'm from the U.S. and never saw that Kerrang! article you're speaking of and am kind of curious.
Anyone have a link?
Do you think she actually said that or did she get it from this article?
wow. to think gerard was quoting eliza in an article like that. he's a creep.
I don't think she would have dug back to an obscure article to quote something...I think it's possible she is actually the one that said it.
"do you have an email?"
Oh yeah, for a guy that's supposedly always been anti-groupie that surely sounds like he was really pushing her away.
God, he just gets sleazier as time passes on.
wow. to think gerard was quoting eliza in an article like that. he's a creep.
Plus, it really shows what his intentions were and that he had her on his mind. I think he knew from day one he was going to cheat on "Kat", that's why he never told her straight away.
This is an excerpt from an interview that appeared in Metal Hammer in January '06. It's kind of long, so bear with me.
You know when you tell the girls in the crowd not to flash their tits at bands who ask them to? (to Gerard)
"Yeah."
Well, do you ever feel a bit of a tit doing that?
"I don't know what you mean."
Do you ever feel a bit pious?
"Yeah, I know what you mean," he says. "And I do worry about being pious, sure. But it's also important to me to say those kind of things. It's important to me, to us, that our audience know that they don't have to act in that stupid way that some rock bands want them to. They don't have to act like that. And, more than that, we don't want them to act that way."
If you were to ask the girls in your audience to flash their tits at you, how many of them do you think would comply?
Frank Iero smiles and says, "I don't know. I guess there would be some of them that would do that. Just because we asked them to."
"Yeah, I think some would," says Mikey Way.
But Gerard Way has thought of something. And this something, for him, is worth believing in.
"Sure, there'd be those that would do that. We don't have complete control over the audience, and neither do we want complete control over the audience. But what I do want is to be able to relate to at least some parts of our audience. So while there are people out there who will get their tits out simply because I ask them to -- there are also those that'd be really disappointed that I did ask them to. And it's those people that I'm interested in."
But it's okay to tell young girls to simulate orgasm...
And it's perfectly fine to associate with a band who makes a practice of humiliating their fans...
And this guy's idea of a "perfect match" is a woman whose main talent is flashing her crotch onstage.
The hypocrisy is mind-boggling.
How do you know when Gerard Way is lying?
His lips move.
so let me get this straight. gerard can't relate to girls who flash their tits, just the ones who flash their crotch.
umkay.
Someone's a vagina man.
Someone obviously likes to hit it from the back and isn't too fond of breasts. Hmmm...
I don't think she would have dug back to an obscure article to quote something

So does that mean Gerard is interested in us, as in the people bitching on this blog? LMAO. He certainly fooled me.
Eliza hating is so 2007
As long as she's still around it will always be stylish.
People need to sign in.
Why do you say that 9:40?
Certain anons are being a lot more obvious than they think.
Obvious about what? I don't understand. Explain.
I think people without accounts need to stop telling people to sign in.
Gerard's hypocrisy is rubbing off!
I agree, Sandwich. Love your name, by the way. :)
I don't have a blogger account and I'm not going through the hassle of getting one just to come here and comment. So there.
Thank you Metal Hammer.
It's a pain to keep loggind in and why bother when you access it without the need for passwords and usernames/email addresses.
You're welcome.
I'm not really loving the name Metal Hammer, though. I would have been posting all along as Katie (my name), but there's already a Kate who posts here and I was afraid it would be confusing. Maybe I'll add my middle name. Katie_Ann?
Katie Ann is cool. oxox
Happy now?
But I'm not going to sign up for an account for one blog.
Someone obviously likes to hit it from the back and isn't too fond of breasts.
Haha, I know what you're getting at, and I would typically agree...but his drawings of large chested, barely clothed women seems to indicate otherwise.
