RIP Adam Yauch

I Want To Say a Little Something That's Long Overdue The Disrespect To Women Has Got To Be Through To All The Mothers And Sisters A And The Wives And Friends I Want To Offer My Love And Respect To The End
If only there were more musicians who felt this way instead of degrading women. RIP MCA. OK, there is something else I want to add to this. This article. Like the woman here I am a long time Beastie Boys fan, since the early days. This article talks a lot about the feminism of the Beastie Boys, how they apologized for using slurs in their old songs, and the misogyny still in music today. I think it is well worth the read.
Once you’ve realized that you’re living in a world that believes women are “less than” in every imaginable way, one of the things that can be most frustrating is that very few men get it. You want the people in your life, the men you care about, to understand the awful toll it can take on you. Operating in a world that sees you as less than fully human can be soul crushing—but it’s also incredibly lonely. When you speak up about any sense of unfairness or injustice, you’re told that you’re overreacting, you’re too angry, too silly—shut up already. It takes a tremendous amount of fortitude to be able to live in this world as a woman, let alone a woman who wants things to change. And that’s what was so remarkable and emotional about the Beastie Boys’ feminist turnaround. Maybe your father says sexism doesn’t exist and your boyfriend disrespects you. Maybe you have to deal with assholes on the subway who rub up against you every day and laugh when you yell at them. But listening to this band that you love so much say that your pain is real, that the world is fucked up and that they are not going to participate in actions that hurt you anymore because they care about you—it was the overwhelming feeling of being made visible. They were sending a clear message to their female fans: This isn’t okay, we have your back, we’re sorry. It was the apology we never got from the high school teacher who stared at our breasts, the acknowledgement of injustice that politicians and American culture dance around—and it was coming from people whom we cared about and respected, people with cultural power. Hearing the Beastie Boys speak out against sexism made me feel like if these men who had once sung about getting girls to “do the laundry” and “clean up my room” could understand, maybe the rest of the world would follow suit. It made me hopeful in the best way.

And here come the Conservative trolls.

Anonymous said...

What? You're just like him aren't you? Thinking only you and your opinions matter. Anyone who thinks differently is a worthless troll

You can't see it anymore than James did. That's the saddest and sickest part. You'll never get it. You'll never be able to respect or appreciate what is different from you.

WTF? Really? Really? 6:11 is either severely brain damaged or a sociopath just like the Colorado gunman. WTF 6:11?

Anonymous said...

Just hope 6:11 isn't as much of a psychopath as the colorado theater gunman.

Are you planning to go the movie theater anytime in next few weeks 6:11? How much do hate these so called conservative trolls? Do you hate any other group of people? Do you think they all deserve to die?

How can anyone take up for a sick ass evil man who shot 59 innocent people and killed 12 of them? What kind of sick person would even try to put a political label on that or try to turn such a tragedy into some sort of conservative vs. liberal political goal? Fuck off 6:11. You ignorant sick piece of shit.

Overreact much, troll?

No one knows James Holmes motivations as of yet. He is the right age to be experiencing a schizophrenic break. He showed no signs of violence before this, but obviously, his actions were not those of someone who is sane.

There are thousands of PhD students all over the country, and thousands of scientists all over the world, none of whom commit senseless acts of violence because they "answer to science". To attempt to blame the study of science for this act is absolutely ridiculous. It's equally ridiculous to bring god into it.

6:11 sounds like the idiotic representative from Texas who says that the lack of god in schools and government is responsible.

Anonymous said...

Too bad no one in that theater had a license to carry. He could have been shot and stopped dead in his tracks before injuring and killing so many innocent people.

How do you know they didn't?

Besides, the man was wearing protective gear. The theater was dark, and he used gas to create smokescreens. He was also using semi-automatic assault weapons. Do you really think the average gun-packing citizen could have taken this guy out in that environment?

Sorry, I meant 4:38, not 6:11.

People like 4:38 don't use their brains before they speak. Instead, they just rehash some crap they heard on talk radio.

I can't believe people are using this--this--to troll this blog. That's appalling. I'm not even going to address anything they've said other than to say: WOW.

Anyway. Re: Psychotic break. I read something on Tumblr that I thought was really apt.

Black person kills people: Thug, gang, or criminal.

Brown person kills people: Terrorist

White person kills people: Mental illness.

ANYone who decides to go around hurting and killing people like this has a mental illness. Stable people don't have that urge or impulse. Yet that term is used to apparently excuse white people. Almost all serial killers are white men. To find them in any other demographic is pretty rare.

Whether you're killing for your god, or some ideology, or your beliefs, or nihilism, or kicks, or ANY reason: you are effed up beyond repair, no matter what the "reason" is.

Believe me when I tell you that I say that entirely without sympathy. I know people who are unstable and have a mental illness. They are not killers. Killing is a choice.

That type of person will use anything. They'll jump on any excuse they can find to push their hate and fear-mongering agenda.

In all honesty, I believe they secretly love when things like this happen. It gives them another reason to jump up and down and place blame on somebody.

7:09, aren't you doing the exact same thing you're accusing the anons from this early morning of? You just used a horrific tragedy to imply something ugly about someone you don't even know. Obviously the anons from this morning were just trying to cause shit. No one needs to further clarify that or jump on the bandwagon with them. Something like this should teach us to stop fighting, not give us excuses to continue.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the victims, their families and friends. And a bit of prayer for the man who did this, may justice take him and he be given the help or release from existence that he needs.

I thought Henry V was excellent. All of the performances were spot on, and I really loved the intimate way that Henry's two famous battle speeches were delivered. I have much more I could say, but I am pressed for time, and would like to pose a question for discussion.

In the comments of this review, there is a discussion about BBC's decision to cast black actors, and specifically, a black actor to play the Duke of York. Thoughts?

I can't really write much on this now, other than to say that Paterson Joseph was brilliant, and also to post an excerpt from the play. I don't think you really have to look any further for the answer to that issue than the author himself.

And let us, ciphers to this great accompt,
On your imaginary forces work.
Suppose within the girdle of these walls
Are now confined two mighty monarchies,
Whose high upreared and abutting fronts
The perilous narrow ocean parts asunder:
Piece out our imperfections with your thoughts;
Into a thousand parts divide on man,
And make imaginary puissance;
Think when we talk of horses, that you see them
Printing their proud hoofs i' the receiving earth;
For 'tis your thoughts that now must deck our kings,
Carry them here and there; jumping o'er times,
Turning the accomplishment of many years
Into an hour-glass: for the which supply,
Admit me Chorus to this history;
Who prologue-like your humble patience pray,
Gently to hear, kindly to judge, our play.

I have no problems with people of color being in Shakespeare productions. It doesn't matter to me whether it's a "history" play or not. A play is only a representation. Like Shakespeare said, we're supposed to use our imaginations to transform what's onstage. If an actor has the talent to perform, what difference does it make? Weren't all females played by males during Shakespeare's time?

Anonymous said...

I think the point with the BBC film was that it was supposed to be as accurate as possible as it was presented as a period piece with period costumes and actual horses and such. It was on film, not the stage. It was supposed to be more realistic and obviously, there were no black dukes in Henry V's time.

kapunua said...

No, dumbass. Because Shakespeare's plays weren't "realistic" either. They were highly romanticized versions of historical events. So if you think that "the point of the BBC film" was to be realistic and therefore it somehow fell short because it had "black dukes," holy crap, sit your racist ass down.

"Actual horses" LMFAO. Yes, because there were "actual horses" obviously you can;t have had any people of color! Because we all know that Henry V looked EXACTLY LIKE Tom Hiddleston.

Weren't all females played by males during Shakespeare's time?

Exactly.

It's about the performance the actors turn out. And they were brilliant.

kapunua said...

Also, I'm pretty sure that they didn't all speak in iambic pentameter either, but somehow, they still incorporated that into the movie.

MAGIC.

Meh, the skinny-dipping scene in that film is not that great. It's too dark and the camera is pretty far away. Somebody on tumblr did a slo-mo gif of Tom jumping in the pool, and he looks pretty well endowed. He's certainly very athletic and his legs are about a million miles long. Nice ass too. :D

Tom Hiddleston does have an amazing ass. You couldn't see it so much as Loki, but that boy fills out a pair of jeans like nobody else. ;)

Absolutely, Joe was awesome in TDKR. ^_^

Anonymous said...

I know this is a moot point, and I should have aired my opinion at the time. I'm not trying to start anything, maybe it's just the music I have been listening to, but I don't see why there was a need to insult July 23@ 7:42AM like that. That person seemed to only be trying to join the discussion. I don't think they were trying to be offensive in any way. Maybe I'm more surprised that no one said anything. There's no need for name calling. Just disagree. :/

kapunua said...

I don't think they were trying to be offensive in any way.

Intent is not magical. If you think that POCs don't belong in Shakespeare, guess what? You're racist! That's like calling the sky blue.

Anonymous said...

I think JGL was my favorite part of TDKR. That and the two seconds we got to see of Tom Hardy's face.

I liked TDKR, but I didn't love it. Thought The Avengers was a better film. I loved the clever dialogue in the Avengers, and it was just more fun. I also thought Black Widow out-bad-assed Catwoman by about a thousand percent. Although I did think Anne Hathaway was good.

Anonymous said...

And where did either comment say POC don't belong in Shakespeare? The greatest stage actor I have ever seen was an African American gentleman playing Othello at the OSF. Look it up, he's very well known. You're assuming the comment at 7:42 and my comment at 5:24PM tonight indicates both of us are racist. That is absolutely ludicrous. And the point, Kapunua, this still doesn't justify childishly calling someone names because you disagree with them. But, nevermind.

Anonymous said...

I don't think you were either 9:57.

Anonymous said...

I appreciate that, 11:11. Good evening to you.

I think the point with the BBC film was that it was supposed to be as accurate as possible as it was presented as a period piece with period costumes and actual horses and such. It was on film, not the stage. It was supposed to be more realistic and obviously, there were no black dukes in Henry V's time.

The "point" of the BBC production was obviously to entertain. Had they wanted an all white cast, they would have done so.

Paterson Joseph is a brilliant actor and one of the best parts of Henry V. Idris Elba (Heimdall) was one of the best parts of Thor, even though he didn't have blond hair, blue eyes, and fit the stereotypical Nordic image. I can't imagine him as anyone else now.

Thing is, people have been casting against type in films for as long as they've made films. I could list dozens of successful films made from books, where they cast an actor with a different build, hair color, eye color or nationality from the character's original description, and nobody really cares as long as the actor turns in a good performance. I mean, seriously, does it matter if Ashley Wilkes was played by a British guy with wavy red hair? Or that Henry V had perfect teeth? Or that none of the soldiers in Henry V were covered in pock marks due to smallpox epidemics that raged back then?

People need to get over this "race" thing. We're all the same race -- the human one. Skin color is simply another genetic feature like eye color or hair color or build. When we see an actor in a play or film, we are seeing another human being. That's really all it boils down to. If that human being doesn't fit your picture of the character, well too bad. I wasn't too thrilled when Tom Cruise played Lestat in Interview With a Vampire either, but I got over it.

As far as the reference to Othello goes, I can't imagine being an actor who loves Shakespeare, and being told that you can never, ever play a part in one of his plays with the exception of Othello.

Obviously the director of the BBC production was comfortable with the casting of Henry V. If some of the viewers didn't like it, they had the option of turning off the tv.

kapunua said...

The greatest stage actor I have ever seen was an African American gentleman playing Othello at the OSF.

Which was racist as hell. So you think that POC are okay as long as they're playing characters that were written POC? But if they have to play an upper class character like a Duke, then they shouldn't?

You never addressed what I said. There may or may not have been African American nobles/royalty in Eurpoe (or there may have been, if you bother to do a little research,) but do you honestly think that Henry V spoke in iambic pentameter and looked like Tom Hiddleston? Oh please, do tell me you think that is "historically accurate."

Yes, what you're saying is racist.

THIS.

I could list dozens of successful films made from books, where they cast an actor with a different build, hair color, eye color or nationality from the character's original description, and nobody really cares as long as the actor turns in a good performance.

Also this.

And I don't see this "OMG A BLACK DUKE IN SHAKESPEARE, WHAT?!" anon bitching when POC characters are played by white people.

People need to get over this "race" thing. We're all the same race -- the human one. Skin color is simply another genetic feature like eye color or hair color or build.

Here's where this comment turns problematic. By being "color blind" and saying "we're all one race," you're not acknowledging POCs' heritage. Black people identify as black. You can't erase that from them by saying "Oh, we're all one race." We aren't. They have a totally different experience than the privilege white people have. It's a mistake to try to take that away.

Anonymous said...

People need to get over this "race" thing. We're all the same race -- the human one. Skin color is simply another genetic feature like eye color or hair color or build.

I think that in a perfect world, this would be the case. Obviously, it's not like that, but for god's sake, can't we at least be color blind when it comes to watching a BBC production of Shakespeare?

kapunua said...

I think that in a perfect world, this would be the case.

I don't agree with this. What about the people who are (rightly) proud of being POC? Should we not acknowledge their color? Or the people who have had different life experiences because of race/color. Should we not acknowledge that, either?

kapunua said...

Colorblindness: the New Racism?

Such incidents are examples of racial “colorblindness” — the idea that ignoring or overlooking racial and ethnic differences promotes racial harmony.

Trainers and facilitators say colorblindness does just the opposite: folks who enjoy racial privilege are closing their eyes to the experiences of others.

“It benefits me not to pay attention,” says Benn, who is white. “I never have to question whether or not my race is being held in question when I apply for a job. It benefits me not to question that (because) it makes it look like I got here on my own.”

9:57 said...

I've read Shakespeare's plays, I don't know any of the "historical" facts of that time, Kapunua. 7:42 and 9:57 (me) are two DIFFERENT anons. I didn't realize that Othello was written as a POC. So you can back down off your insane high horse, Kapunua. I was ignorant of the way the character was written, I wasn't saying that actor could only star in that play. To assume that's what I was saying, is so far out of line. (Would like a little sidenote? I can't tell you how many plays I have seen with that gentleman starring in them. He's played every sort of character, I've loved him as every one. I have a promo poster from that play that I keep near my bed, he's stunningly attractive as well as talented. I met him at a cafe around the OSF theaters some time ago. He's very quiet and humble in comparison to his stage presence. No one in their right mind would deny this actor a part, myself included. He also spits quite a bit when he's acting, but no one minds given the extraordinary grace and measure of his performance.) The reason I mentioned him as Othello was that you were all discussing Shakespeare (Othello is obviously a Shakespeareian play). And that play also happened to be the very first one I saw at the OSF (Oregon Shakespeare Festival).

Do you see how you take ONE comment and you inappropriately put your own assumptions into it? You do this constantly, Kapunua. Constantly. Had you politely mentioned that the character of Othello was written as a POC, instead of calling me a racist, I would have owned my ignorance and explained what I was trying to say, as I just have. But you immediately assume and follow it with the most outragous insults. That is so immature. I always expect better of you. Why do feel the need to make every discussion some kind of personal war? Not everyone who disagrees with you is doing so to offend or hurt you, Kapunua. You've even clearly taken offense to the anons from this morning who read like they were trying to agree with you. More people might join the discussions here if there wasn't a constant fear of being misunderstood and attacked. I know you have been through terrible things, but everyone has been through something. Not everyone uses it as an excuse to lose their temper.

I feel I need to make it clear once more that I am not the anon (at 7:42)who was so obviously only TRYING to discuss the historical accurasy/the BBC discussion with all of you. As I have just explained to you (without rudely calling you names back) I know nothing of the history of that time, or the facts behind the plays. I would not join a conversation I didn't know how to comment on unless I was asking questions. I was just defending the anon, Kapunua. You assume so much, with so much rage. You began this aggressive argument for absolutely no valid reason.

Again, I'm embarrassinly ignorant, Kapunua. I'm not a racist. And I'm not every anon you speak too, please stop giving me so much credit. Good day.

9:57 said...

And, you seem to have very "magically" used this absurd assumption on my personal character to turn away from the point of my first comment. You don't need to sink to calling people childish names in order to disagree with them. As I said in that first comment, it was moot to even bother. But I keep trying nonetheless. Good day to everyone.

Take the criticism, say "thank you for telling me" and move the fuck on instead of whining.

For the record, I personally have learned a lot at this blog because when someone calls me out on my blindness, I don't get defensive.

"Didn't know Othello was supposed to be black" LMAO And then to say "But I can't be racist... I liked that one black actor!"

That's just like "some of my best friends are black."

You keep doing more and more damage to yourself anon.

kapunua said...

First of all, if you weren't the anon banging on about "I don't think there were black dukes!" then guess what? I wasn't talking to you! Wow, imagine that? Why do you just assume I'm addressing you if it's not something you said? Don't you think that's a little weird?

But your "I DO LOVE THIS ONE BLACK ACTOR" is getting a little "some of my best friends" ish.

Had you politely mentioned that the character of Othello was written as a POC,

First of all, I for the life of me cannot imagine having to tell someone that. Second of all, you were still defending the anon who said obviously, there were no black dukes in Henry V's time.

You--and apparently the other anon--keep skirting the actual issue here. Did Henry V speak in iambs? Did he look like Tom Hiddleston? No? Then why even discuss another actor who might not have resembled his character?

Not everyone who disagrees with you is doing so to offend or hurt you,

No one is hurting me. I'm just pointing out racism where I see it because, as a person with white privilege, THAT'S MY JOB.

I know you have been through terrible things, but everyone has been through something. Not everyone uses it as an excuse to lose their temper.

WTF does this have to do with me? This is about a different anon who was making a racist assumption. That wasn't you? COOL. Then I wasn't talking about you. Stop getting weird with me.

I was just defending the anon, Kapunua.

Yes, you were defending their racist assumption. Ignorance? Is racism. We all have some of that. Learn, and move on. Get over it.

You've even clearly taken offense to the anons from this morning who read like they were trying to agree with you.

No: I pointed out that color blindness and saying "we are all one race" is also a kind of racism. Pointing something out does not = "taking offense" or attacking someone else.

You're extremely sensitive, but, it seems, only to me telling you things. Why is that?

kapunua said...

I personally have learned a lot at this blog

The only things I have learned here is that some people preach dogma and political correctness.

kapunua said...

Saying "OMG stop being so politically correct!" is just a way to silence people who are trying to stand against racism.

Here's a good link on that.

Political correctness is positioned as opposed to personal autonomy by its critics. Commentators may use 'political correctness' to imply the existence of mainstream legal or political power structure enforcing politically correct behaviour or even thought. Examples of such structures in reality (for example, anti-discrimination and anti-harrassment laws) may be portrayed as unacceptable infringements on personal autonomy.

Acts that might be described as "political correctness" include:

any call for less of certain kinds of speech (for example, anti-feminist speech)

using gender neutral terms, or even gender-agreeing terms, for roles that might be occupied by a woman (eg "chair" or "chairperson" or "chairwoman" for "chairman")

describing a person or their behaviour as sexist or racist or otherwise discriminatory

any opinions supportive of feminism, anti-racism etc

Accusations of political correctness can be used disingenuously to silence people, since being "politically correct" in some circles makes one automatically in the wrong.

Bolded parts to emphasize context of this conversation.

Anonymous said...

I'm certain if there was an article about toilet seats being left up being a sign of anti feminism you would post that here too.

Anonymous said...

Who is getting so sensitive and defensive about what appears to be their puritanical idealism?

Regarding Cloud Atlas:

I definitely recommend it. It's a little slow in places, and the author seems a bit too pleased with himself, but it's worth reading.

I think the movie is going to be great. Yup, Hugo Weaving AND Ben Whishaw. I'd see it for Ben alone.

kapunua said...

And ben Wishaw too! That sounds like something I'd want to see. :D

Found a good quote about getting called out on racism.

“Yeah, people treat anti-racism like a game of Monopoly: if you get called out, it means you lose, so you knock all the pieces off the board and throw a hissy fit. Nah, it’s more like football. You get a flag, you get knocked back a few yards, your coach yells at you, then puts you back in the game.”

Dionthesocialist, hitting the nail on the fucking head as usual.

If you get called out for doing something racist, even if you didn’t mean it, don’t get all defensive. Listen to what you’re being told, and don’t do it again.

That's exactly what he did, MissT. He identified with The Joker. He wanted to cause chaos.

He blamed the world for his problems and wanted to make the world pay because he, an honor student and college graduate, a future PhD was stuck working in McDonalds. A job so beneath him, his degree and gifted intelligence.

Is that what all this was about? That's so tragic. You guys must have more information about this guy than us cos our news is still saying that there's no reason for what happened but just keep going on about his starey eyes in court. All they have said over here is that he was a phd student and dropped out. I didn't know he worked at Mcdonalds. So many facts we haven't heard yet.

No one knows James Holmes motivations as of yet. He is the right age to be experiencing a schizophrenic break. He showed no signs of violence before this, but obviously, his actions were not those of someone who is sane.

It sounds like some kind of mental breakdown. But it's obviously been going on long enough for him amass all those weapons and make all those booby traps.

kapunua said...

I agree K, I was talking with my mum yesterday about this case and I was saying how certain events like this are ALWAYS reported in a certain way like you have pointed out. You could almost write the stories yourself cos you know how it's gonna go.

Off to watch the olympics opening ceremony. The industrial revolution part that was just shown was bloody brilliant I thought.

Anybody seen The Deep Blue Sea? Is it worth renting?

I watched it last night. Is it worth renting? I'd say yes, if, for nothing else than the performances. There is some great acting in this film.

As for the storyline, I wasn't really impressed. Being that it was an adaptation of a 1952 stage play, the dialogue was a bit stale and the main character's (Hester) motivations were not all that realistic. I think the female protagonist had potential, but the male writer didn't really understand her all that well. Rachel Weisz did the best she could do with the role, though, and she was brilliant.

I felt both male leads were better characterized, and of course, brilliantly acted. It was interesting to see Tom Hiddleston and Simon Russell Beale playing such drastically different characters from the ones they portrayed in Henry IV.

The nude scene seemed a bit awkward, although I have to admit, I always enjoy seeing as much of Tom Hiddleston as I can get. ;)

The only other complaint I have is the fuzzy camera work and lighting. I get that it was supposed to be creating a certain mood, but to me, it was just annoying.

Overall, I recommend it.

Nude scene? :DDDDD

Yup. Lots of leg and a really good shot of Tom's butt cheek. I haven't seen the movie but the scene is up on youtube. This man has an amazing lower body. I've only recently become aware of this. Is it weird that I find myself intrigued by his feet? :/

Yeah, don't answer that.

kapunua said...

Oh, my! ^_^

Well, you know what they say about men with big feet...

He does have a great ass. That much we can plainly see. :D

No, it's the same :)

Anonymous said...

Well, you know what they say about men with big feet...

It's fingers...index fingers. The longer it is, the more testosterone at fetal development, the more prodigious the cock.

So the story goes...

Anonymous said...

It's neither fingers nor the feet. It's all in the tongue. Really. The proof is in the pudding. The longer and stronger the tongue so follows the rest. Feet and fingers can't compare to tongue.

Nope.

I'm always so shocked by what some people find amusing. I don't understand how someone could so thoroughly enjoy mocking, degrading and hurting another human being. That a person could actually get off (and show it, like it's some kind of prize) on treating another person like this. It's amusing to some of you that I try to stand up for myself. It's amusing to some of you that my family and I will end up homeless if I lose my job over relentless childish, cruel, unprofessional behavior from others. The amount of responisibily on me, the health concerns and the family drama and money problems I'm trying to keep breathing through, and adding to all of that, this twisted, soulless shit and this is what makes some of you laugh? I don't understand how. And I don't understand why. I would never in my life think to, wish or do this to anyone. Never. I've thought so highly of some of you. I've wanted to keep believing in you. And you keep doing this to me. How can anyone do this to another person, and just keep on and on and on? They amount of time has been going on is extraordinary. Why? You hate me, you've made it clear. Now please just leave me alone. I would just like to do my job and live my life. You have the means and right to do the same, this is all I'm asking.

I hope everything works out for you, and I wish you the best.

Shit man, I just read, there are people that respond on this blog who have kids, some more than one and they come to a hate blog dedicated to MCR (Because the name says it all), just to blah blah blah about how MCR are hateful, useless, and are "has beens". Yet, Gerard way gets hella money, I mean if you don't believe, go look at the pics of his house. But... if you've got kids and you are on this blog you either had kids pretty young, teens or early twenties, or you are too damn old to be worried about what goes on in MCR's lives. I mean, yeah, I know I'm reading this stuff but I'm only 22, by standards that's not *too* old. But I need to find a full time job quick so I don't become "that one chick who is bitter and blogs about the celebs she hates". This shit cray.

Has anybody here watched the series Wallander?

I'm asking because I just watched the first two episodes, and as much as I love Kenneth Branagh, the reason I started watching was for Magnus (Tom Hiddleston's character). Anyway, I was wondering if Magnus ever gets any more screen time? So far he's been very much on the sidelines. The series is good, but I'd like to see Magnus developed some more. I really like Tom with the crazy curls.

Anonymous said...

What do you guys think about Tom Hiddleston doing an episode of Family Guy? Also, the Robot Chicken thing.

Those aren't exactly what I'd call PC.

Anonymous said...

Arya FN Stark,

You sound like a 12 year old who is butthurt because people don't like your favorite band.

Anonymous said...

I've watched all episodes of Wallander, and sorry to say, Magnus' character never gets any more screen time. It's like he's only there to irritate Kurt. It's annoying actually. I can't imagine why they get such high-caliber actors to serve as props and plot devices in that show. It's all Sir Branagh and the others are just talented window dressing. But I suppose Tom's association with Branagh is what got him the role in Thor, so it paid off for him.

I've never seen Robot Chicken, but I like Family Guy (most of the time. Sometimes it pisses me off, sometimes it gives me a LOL. The "Alien" thing made me fall out of my chair.)

I'm excited that Hiddleston would do Family Guy. That promises to be hilarious!
