I think you are missing the point: it's not about the right to do anything, it's about acknowledging that the history behind these slur words, that these slurs effect some people and their perception about another group of people and that people within the group that the slurs are directed to may be far more sensitive to their impact than yourself. From what I have observed many in the mcrmy feel very strongly about the group and the band because it's the only form of family for them.

I have been threatened with physical violence by MCR fans for saying I felt Gerard was acting in a wrong and misogynist manner when he threatened to hit women. I have had members of the MCRmy attempt to get me thrown off of websites and fired from a job because I claimed the all-powerful Gerard was wrong to call women "c*nts" and threaten to smash their faces.
And consider that the fans were sending DEATH THREATS to the girls who called out Gerard on Twitter, when what they said amounted to "STOP BEING SUCH A JERK TO WOMEN, OKAY? WE THOUGHT BETTER OF YOU AT ONE POINT."
All I or they have done is say, with provided proof, that Gerard has acted in this manner. So where are the fans showing respect to US?

I think what you're seeing is normal for a man in his mid-thirties who smokes, drinks too much coffee, messes around with his eating habits (yo-yo crash dieting then bloating when on tour) and has abused drugs a lot in the past. In short, he looks busted because of his bad habits and shitty health, not because someone carved his face up. And before we get the 'show us your picture if you think you're so good looking' comments, I'm not saying I am good looking. But I look after my body, don't abuse substances and have a healthy lifestyle which by-and-large ensures I don't have a face that looks like a bag of wet porridge with eyes drawn on it.
