I used to be fine with the on stage "sexual" behavior like Frerard because it was obvious they were taking the piss. But recently I've gotten the feeling that Gerard really does fancy himself to be sexually provocative, which ruins the whole thing.

I don't really think most of us will be able to move on until the new record comes out. For some reason I think the new CD is going to be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of fans.
I see the old fandom fading away and not a lot of new ones coming in. By then, this place will be as dead as all the rest of the MCR comms.
Do you think VV will eventually delete this place when the band breaks up?

I'm sorry, I have to add to this one. This anon is a young person in school? This is young people mocking the (possible) death of a living person? While I do intensely despise GW/LW's appalling capitolization of a good person's murder -reading a kid think doing the very SAME thing (although, with the lovely twist of the people being mocked, actually still LIVING) is really fucking disturbing. Moreso than any offense the New Way's have put upon us.
Kid, you may think your idea is a nice way of putting those fools in their place (and they would deserve it), but all you would be doing is sinking to their callus, unthinking, irresponsible and VILE level. PLEASE step back and realize that. Please let me hold onto the last shred of hope for the future. The best thing to do with people like them, is just AVOID them. If a group of high schoolers were to get together and re-enact the Columbine incident and post it on youtube, only to tell people who complained, "it's art. suck it," all hell would break loose. I don't see the difference between that and what Gerard and Lindsey have done.

we're not making fun of his appearance. it started when we're talking about how he said he never shows his arms because he's fat when the truth is he proudly let them on display throughout warped tour. someone suggested it was the new confidence he gained from losing lots of weight (which were proven by the stretch marks). No one is mocking him for his appearance whatsoever.

I posted the pic of Gerard in that ridiculous make-up and I don't apologize for it. Anybody who goes onstage looking that ridiculous deserves to be made fun of.
As far as the stretch marks issue goes, Gerard did say in an interview that you would never see him with his shirt off and that he didn't wear short sleeves onstage, despite the fact that he had gone sleeveless a little over a year earlier. Then he turned around and went sleeveless again later.
I think he deserves to be called out on his hypocrisy and lies.

I don't see any similarities between them either. The first time I saw Gerard (the Helena video) I actually said, "Oh who's the Jack White wannabe?"
But then I saw Gerard doing an interview on SURS and realized that Jack is about a foot taller than he is. So is Billy Corgan for that matter.
For those of you who don't know, Senator Ted Kennedy died yesterday. So another death in the Kennedy family. He was the last surviving son of Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. and the only one to die of natural causes (Joe Jr. died in a plane crash and the other two were assassinated).
The only remaining sibling (of nine children) is Jean Ann who served at one time as ambassador to Ireland.
I doubt that Gerard is even aware of Senator Kennedy's death, unless it gets mentioned somehow during breaks between Reality TV episodes. He probably doesn't realize that the ten year anniversary of John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s tragic death was just last month. I also doubt he was aware of Eunice Kennedy Shriver's death, nor of her contribution to society.
If he was made aware of these things, his reaction was probably excitement at the timing of the release of his trade.

While I agree that Ted Kennedy's behavior on the night of Mary Jo Kopechne's death was bizarre, I don't believe that he murdered her.
Kennedy's doctor testified that he suffered a concussion due to the accident, which resulted in his not thinking clearly at the time.
It was proven that he was driving recklessly at the time of the accident, which does make him responsible for her death. But murder?
Did he make a bad decision in leaving the scene of the accident and not reporting it immediately? Most definitely, yes. But there's not enough evidence to substantiate accusations of murder.
About Gerard saying he was anorexic in 2005. There are pictures from TOC where he was wearing that fur collar coat in Florida I think, Where he was very thin. One had him going up stairs to a platform and the other was with Chauncey with a gun. It would take too long for me to find them right now but someone else may remember too. I doubt he had an actual disorder, maybe a crash diet, but he was supposedly sober at the time so it wasn't just a hell of a binge.

It has occurred to me that he might take diet pills -- something that is definitely a no-no for anyone with bi-polar disorder. That could have been a contributing factor to his erratic behavior during Pro Rev.

He lost a lot of weight between TCFSR and TBP. On LOTMS he is wearing a red shirt and drinking a milkshake or something and he looks really big, he has a massive face. By the time TBP rolled around he'd got a lot slimmer. I know there was a couple of years between but he looked a lot better after losing that weight.
I think he looked really healthy around the time that TBP first came out (god-awful white hair notwithstanding), but by the time they made the video for IDLY, he was getting chubby again.

He was even thinner when they were in the UK in Nov 2007 (with MSI supporting them). There is a pic from after the Newcastle gig (I think) where he looks ill. Fangirls were saying "Wow he looks beautiful." All I could think that he looked emaciated and drained.
I agree, I think he binges and starves himself. Really unhealthy, and also it fucks up your metabolism, so in turn it will make him gain weight more easily.
In my opinion he has alot of self hate issues that are still unresolved, and probably never will be.

Usually people with weight issues as a child tend to eat more when they're dealing with anxiety.
I think Gerard has body issues because he did bring up the thing about being uncomfortable with his body. I also think the record label encouraged him to lose the weight to fit that "pretty gawth boy" image he portrayed at the VMA's.
During the Black Parade tour he was feeling a lot of pressure and probably started binge eating again, which is most likely the reason he started gaining weight again so quickly. Also, he was with Eliza who isn't exactly a stick thin rawkstah girfriend, so he probably felt a bit more comfortable with being a little overweight.
When he hooked up with Lindsey it's like he totally stopped eating and got scary thin. At least he looks like he's eating again now.

I actually know a lot of men who have stretch marks. It has nothing to do with your gender. All it has to do with is stretching of your skin. If you put on weight, if you have a growth spurt or even if a man works out and gets bigger muscles, he will get stretch marks.
My boyfriend works out and he got stretch marks on his shoulders when he bulked up.

Not everyone gets stretch marks when they have kids. I've had two and they both weighed nearly 8 pounds, but I don't have a single stretch mark. It all depends on the elasticity of your skin which is genetic. Maybe Lindsey has them; maybe she doesn't, but I agree that it's kind of pointless and irrelevant.

i saw the idea mentioned on chemicalromance or BN that membership was exclusive to start so they could test it. like if there's glitches, or more likely if they get tired of having fans invade their blogs as well as their twitters. so the ones who got the codes first may feel special, but really they're just being used as lab rats.
Honestly, I think letting fans comment on the blogs will cheapen the site. Not that it's not cheap now, but allowing comments makes it seem more like Myspace than a band's official page. But then again, MCR hasn't been known for class or style for some time.

I guess this would be the best place to put this, but I was looking though my old computer and I found this thing that someone wrote about Gerard (I believe it was from an old J-14 magazine...)
