I've heard bootlegs of old shows before they signed to a major label where Gerard is drunkenly talking about suicide not being an option and to believe in yourself and the like. So I do believe at some point it was real. It's just when they decided to use it as a marketing tool that things started going downhill.

I think he does that when he is fucked up on drugs.
Even when he was drunk, he made more sense (and said less vile things, even if they weren't his idea). That isn't being nervous or excited. That's drugs. The sad excuse for his entire personality change, etc = DRUGS. I've had family and friends fall/turn just as he has since just before meeting LynZ/MSI. DRUGS.
As it appears he's fallen back into drinking again, I hope it's just booze this time and not drugs again. I thought everyday I came online for a time, I'd be reading of his overdose. I seriously hope he's not fallen back into that shit once more. Booze is still dangerous. But in comparison to hard drugs, I'd say a person could survive a bit better on the booze.

Miss E is a friend of Mikey and Eliza and was in World's Most Hated. That's a good theory, it really might be her or another WMHC. I've read some of her blogs and she's an excellent writer. I think she has a degree in English but I'm not positive. Writing something like a foreigner would be pretty easy for her.

Anyway, she was a member of the Worlds Most Hated Crew which was an group of people who were associated with MCR and other bands who people talked shit about because of their persistant "look at me, I hang out with [insert famous name here] today. The group consisted of Alicia, Sarah Dope, Miss E, Chris, Eliza and Meghan Mayhem (who was later booted for talking about Gerard's personal life). The group disolved after Gerard and Eliza split.
Miss E is still friends with everyone in the group including Mikey and has been often accused of leaving anonymous letters on the internet in Eliza's defense.

Alicia got a lot of hate when she and Mikey were first together in 05. There were the famewhore and golddigger accusations thrown around just like now with Lindsey. I think the fans just got over her, or the ones who hated her have since moved on and the new fans just accept whatever they're given.

So by the time he called the engagement off, Eliza would have been noticeably far along in the pregnancy. Unless I totally got the story wrong, and Eliza got an abortion so Gerard would be with her? Exactly. It was never meant to be taken literally. In the early days, Gerard talked about how the band "saved his life" but what he meant was that it got him out of the basement and doing something he loved. It "saved him" from a boring, mundane, ordinary existence.
Later, when the band was in jeopardy because of his drinking and drug use, I think the label put their foot down and told him to clean up his act. I don't think it was all his decision. Then, they and their management came up with the "sobriety story" and suddenly, the band "literally saved his life."
That's about the time when the original fans began to roll their eyes and leave the fanbase and the nutty teenies with their notions that a band could keep them alive started to sign on.
The whole thing is like a comedy of errors.

This statement reminds me of my friend's cousin whose band got signed to major label. The label doesn't like how his hair looks (he had long shoulder length hair) and asked him to change it but he retorted saying that the hair was part of his band image. The label rep threatened him saying that they have spent a few hundred thousand dollars on his band and if he objects, they might, as mikey way puts it, bring out the wolves (i.e lawyers).
This got me thinking, ever noticed after Gerard got clean&sober, cuts his hair and slim down, MCR received a way bigger audience (ie teenies). In my opinion, the label is the one who pushed Gerard to be someone he's not to boost record sales.

Early on, during the Bullets days, the fans were genuinely into the band for the music. Many of those early fans left during the Helena era. The crazies started trickling in slowly, but by the time TBP was released, the fandom was completely overtaken by the Nazi-like fascists that Ultraforge talks about.
I wonder if the members of the band even realize what happened and where they went wrong?
Everyone knows by now that the teenagers bring the big cash in almost every branch of the entertainment industry. Every band and music artist is dependent on that demographic. They are willing to spend money for every crap and especially young girls will do anything for their idol(s) and support them no matter what. If a band is smart enough, they will be able to milk that cash cow for a long time, meaning that if the first teen fan generation gets older, more mature and finally abandons the band/artist the next generation could already be standing in line to take their place as long as the idol(s) still appeal to teenagers.
It always seemed fishy to me that all of a sudden almost all of the band members needed to be married.
It's funny because here on German MTV there is a show called 'All eyes on' and they feature certain bands. They show interviews and concert footage. Well, today I watched a trailer and there was this guy from 'Billy Talen't and he was sitting in a car with his band mates and he said that he will celebrate his birthday in a few days and that he's getting old and that it is not good to get old, because then the fans will move on to another band. It was meant as a joke, but obviously it is also the truth.
I think that MCR are well aware of the fan base they're having. I guess that they're mostly pissed off about it, but also find it quite funny at times. Especially if the band members are in need of a big ego boost. They know that they can do anything and that their hardcore fan sheep will still love them for any crappy stunt they're pulling (f. e. Bob's 'artwork').
I guess the band members are quite ambivalent about the position they're in. I would think that Frank wouldn't mind to go back and be in an unknown club band again, but I highly doubt that Gerard would like it to be at the same point he once was when he started the band.
In some way, they seem to resent being dependent on those embarrassing fan sheep and want them to disappear and trade them in for the fans they had at the very beginning, but then they don't want to lose their status as adored and beloved rock deities, who can't do no wrong.

I'll tell you another thing about chemicalromance on lj that's even more telling.
If you go back and look at the calendar for 2006 when the band was recording TBP, you'll see entries posted nearly every single day right up until the release of the record.
If you go look at 2009, you'll see maybe two or three entries a month for the past couple of months and only scattered entries for the earlier months of the year.
Seem the fans who came in with TBP have for the most part jumped off the bandwagon.
Or maybe MCR "jumped the shark" with their idiotic behavior since PR and on twitter.

As I read that comment, it immediately made me think that there could be more truth to it than we ever thought of.
He never talked that much about the baby and only mentioned her twice in interviews (correct me if I'm wrong). I also wondered why Lindsey never showed off her pregnant belly, since she is obviously so proud to be married to Gerard and couldn't resist writing crap on her body with a sharpie and then go on stage to show it for the whole world aka the fandom to see.
Maybe the management told Gerard not to talk that much about the baby and that Lindsey shouldn't show her pregnancy that often, because it could chase away the teen fans and piss them off.
No matter how many fans talk about them being happy for Gerard and Lindsey and that they're happy for them having a baby, I bet most of them only say it to not sound like jelluz h8erz or 'fake fans', who are only interested in the 'cute' band members and not their music and 'important' gospel.
Out of sight, out of mind. If Gerard doesn't talk much about the baby it will be easier for the teen fans to forget about it and block it out, respectively.

Why is he MIA? He just doesn't give a fuck. If he would post blogs on Twitter, the fans eventually would ask him to respond to their tweets. And since it is beneath him to talk to his mealtickets, he wouldn't want to bring himself into that position anymore where he could be accused of not wanting to talk to his fans. Down Syndrome is not something that is life threatening nor would it cause a normal couple to curtail their social life.
I could see them not going out if the baby's health was at risk, but if it has some kind of mental deficiency or handicap that would be different.
