9.44 exactly. IP info is worth jackshit most of the time. My dad works with ip addys all fucking day. Do people realize if you don't have a static ip it can be different EVERYTIME you connect? And if whoever wrote the letter could have used a fucking library to do it. Untraceable unless you have that same ip info from a definite source that matches. Knowing who it was is a load of crap unless the person messed INO to say they were doing it and could they leave the letter up for people to see because it's not bull and is important.

Yeah, although an ip can be traced to a certain computer, only your Service Provider has access to that info and they can't give it out because of privacy laws. The only way they would give out your private info would be if they had a subpeona.

But when the anon letter was posted Dujo made it perfectly clear to all site admin that the IP address should not be published under any circumstances.
Does it really matter who wrote it though? It was clearly someone very concerened and you can see the truth in there so much it's almost uncomfortable. It would be nice to know for sure, but I don't think anyone should ever tell or own up to it. How would Gerard feel if he knew the identity of the person who wrote that about him? Most of you probably don't care but they more than likely do.

i am currently holed up writing a limited edition book for skeleton crew. so far it is entitled "may these words set fire to your soul." it should be pretty short, around 20 or so pages, possibly hand numbered, and will include a new photo or two. no idea yet on a release date, i still have to over think every word 6 or 7 hundred more times, but i'll keep you posted. just thought you should know.
The bit at the end didn't seem so much childish to me, as it did cocky and defiant. Whoever wrote it was supremely confident that Eliza would guess immediately who wrote it. It was also a direct challenge 'I'd like to see you try and prove it!!!' The person who wrote that was confident that even if Eliza went to Gerard and accused this person, Gerard would not believe her.
It smacked of something Frank would say. Whoever wrote it was addressing the fans and reassuring them that Eliza wouldn't destroy the band (a lot of fans at the time were publicly saying she was the new Yoko Ono)
I want to say it's the drugs that turned him into such a douche, but he was drunk and high as a kite back in the day and fans said he was very humble and sweet, if not a bit oblivious.
So I can only conclude that it has to do with the company he keeps. MSI is an obvious choice, but it started with Eliza. Maybe Gerard was involved in WMHC more than we thought? Everyone always said he was above such things, but it's obvious now he isn't. Maybe WMH was what MSI later became for him, the group to impress and seem "hardcore" in front of.
It's really sad that he has to try and prove himself to other people and try and 'fit in'. It must be a horrible way to live. Does anyone know who the real Gerard is?
I always thought he was this shy, humble guy who had something decent to say. I find it quite hard to accept that that person wasn't real. Maybe he still is in there somewhere but the influence of other people has changed him so much he probably doesn't even know himself anymore. I kind of feel sorry for him.

I hope he hasn't fallen off the wagon. I like to make fun of him but like someone said ^^ its his whole life he's screwing up by drinking and not just something for fans or ex-fans to comment on. And now he hasn't just himself to think about. He's got a child and wife to support. What if he is drinking, comes home drunk and drops the baby? Squanders money on drugs and alcohol? Obviously, Bandit isn't going to go without, but some celebrities have been known to spend all their money on drink and drugs and end up bankrupt. I don't think it would come to that, but imagine what position Bandit and Lindsey would be in if that happened?
Also, his negative attitude to drinking and drug taking would have an effect on Bandit. She would see it as the norm. Her parents off their faces all the time. Psycologically it would have an effect on her and her attitude to alcohol and drugs and more than likely follow their example.

I think everyone is looking at this the wrong way. have you ever thought about the fact the gerard we all saw right up to when his sobriety was announced, the nice Gerard, sweet guy, etc, was all while he was ON drugs/drinking?
The asshole came out after he stopped, and got worse ever since. Maybe, just maybe how he is now is how he really is, how he would always have been without the addictions. Could it be possible that the anti-depressants/alcohol/drugs supressed (sp?) his personality somewhat? Nobody is denying that pre-04 he was a swell guy all round, maybe as he stopped his addictions and grew more confident with the new people surrounding him, the 'real' Gerard surfaced more and more.
Ever look at it that way? Because honestly, none of us has ever seen him or experienced what he was like before the abuse. Hell, Mikey probably doesn't even remember, what with the age gap between them, and lord knows the rest of the band never knew him sober and clean before 04.

You do make a good point. Maybe the drinking and drugs supressed the bad side of his personality and made him seem like a nice person. Maybe he seemed quiet and shy because he had taken his meds. I don't know, I'm no expert and don't really know much about the effects of antidepressants.
He DID seem like a nicer person. It would be nice if that was the real Gerard.
Even though he is acting the big arsehole I still don't want him to relapse because of the effect it would have on his new family. Not just that though, he says he had liver damage (whether that's true or not, who knows?). I've seen an alcoholic die of soriosis (sp???) of the liver and I know someone who's got kidney damage because of a heroin overdose and she has to be careful even taking paracetamol. If GW started to drink again what effect would it have on his body?

The liver is the most re-generative organ in the body. If it isn't damaged, and you have been drinking really heavily, it will fully re-generate within 6 months if you don't drink/and/or use drugs at all.
If there is damage, then it will depend. But the parts that aren't damaged beyond repair will regenerate totally.

I think Gerard has always been an alcohlic. I guess it started in his early teens (remember that 'cough syrup under the bed' story?) and he most likely was so over-weight as a high-school boy because of the drinking. He even talked about how he got drunk because of some girl etc.
I also think that he might have stopped drinking several times and already relapsed a few times in his life. Obviously.
So, it might not be the first time that Gerard has tried staying sober and I bet it wouldn't be the first time for him to relapse.
The only thing is, this time he's got more to lose.

I'm glad the person you know is functioning well now, that's always good :). But you know not everyone is the same with AD's right? Are you saying there's no difference between who they were or how they acted before taking them, and now? If there isn't then, well, to be honest that's awesome, but most people I've known and myself included, did have changes of personality in one way or other. But yes, finding the right AD or balance of different AD's can be difficult.

Thank you 2:38. Until you personally experience addiction or depression you really don't know what it's like, and there is still a stigma attached to taking meds, which there shouldn't be. It's like taking blood pressure medication, trial and error before you find the right one. Perhaps when suffering depression there are so many cognitive challenges, when you are on the right one it alleviates it, so maybe you feel a personality change, but it's less of the anxieties that plague you.
And likewise with any addiction; an alcoholic cannot moderate their drink, once they start the compulsion develops again. Same with an anorexic, gamblers and any other illness of compulsion. It is for life, and they have to manage the stress in their life to resist the lure of compulsion.

okay so i had just heard this myself from my friend Jess who heard it from our other friend Asher so i called him to find out if it was true and he told me what he had heard
He heard this from a LP tech who had been on the PR tour not to mention, with the exception of Matt Cortez who was a friend of Frank's before the band and shit, a shitload of other people who had heard the same/similar stories.
Asher told me that there was a guy and a gal who had gotten into an argument with JU over the fact that the guy was gay ( i think these techs were teching for HIM)
and one of the other techs came over to defend the gay tech and soon GW came over and started it too
Few weeks later Bob asked one of them to help with tech work for his drum kit and GW started all sorts of shit
This went on until the end of PR and then HIM sent those techs home so they could recompose themselves for a few weeks
But that's just one of the stories he's heard and apparently there's several others. He also told me that the band offered Matt Pelissar a place to tech for them on their upcoming tour

First of all, I can't imagine him sending it to that place. The only worse place he could have sent it was to buzznet. INO has a horrible reputation in the fandom.
Secondly, what did he have to gain by it? Eliza was not causing that much of a rift in the fandom; not nearly as much as Gerard's actions at PR and I didn't see a letter at INO from Frank about that.
I realize that people want to think that Frank gave a shit about the fandom at one point -- enough to want to help Gerard. But, I think his actions since have proven that he just stands back and lets Gerard fuck things up. They all do.
Plus, there has been no confirmation that Frank is indeed FT Willz. And if he is, I'm sure he's getting help from an editor for grammar and punctuation.

The problem came when certain fans of the Revenge Era (mainly girls), made white shining armored dark Princes out of MCR. Falling in love with their stage image over the band itself thanks to Life on The Murder Scene. Gerard has said that the band isn't an 'image band'. Time has shown us that the only attribute guaranteed to remain part of the My Chem persona, is their ability to not give a fuck what others think of them and be themselves.
