I can't stand these social networking sites like Twitter and MySpace and Facebook. I was on facebook for a while and it just ended up like a popularity contest. People who hated me at school, (namely all the popular people), started adding me as their friends and sending me friend requests and then when I accepted they didn't bother speaking. It got really annoying and I did start to get really offended. Then you'd get people bragging about how great they're doing and how wonderful their lives were and rubbing your face in how much more they get paid than you and I'd end up feeling quite shit about my own life and it got quite depressing.
Those sort of sites are okay I think if you're into that sort of thing but it's the whole 'I've got 255 friends, how many have you got?' thing that got on my nerves.
I think Twitter is just an excuse for so-called 'celebrities' to brag about what they've got and what they're doing. It's also an ego trip for some of them too, to look at how many people are following them. It's like their own little 'fame-metre'.
Gerard is such a twerp and it was so kind of him to let all his 'fans' know he had found the dream car that he'd obviously spent so much time day dreaming about. He could have thanked all the people that sent him pictures of these cars and actually took the time to try and help him find the car.
I hope he is enjoying his "muscle" car. Maybe it makes up for the unused "muscle".

Yes, I saw this a lot back when Eliza was with Gerard. Girls who were nice to Eliza were rewarded with backstage passes. And after all, nobody really expects these rockstar marriages/relationships to last. Maybe these girls are hoping to be next in line.

No one is taken forever. Marriages rarely last and I am not holding my breath on how long that one will last.
His other half is a woman most people didn't know about until he got with her. She is more known for being his wife, not being able to play her bass and using silly old gimmicks to get attention.

This is true and so many of those women led miserable lives and made their children and husbands miserable because of it. Of course, divorce was frowned upon back then. Now Lindsey can just divorce Gerard, take half of everything he has and get a chunk of child support as well.

Well I guess she hasn't known him that long. What I find quite repulsive about all this, is that it's all about who you know and who you hang with. It is all about looking cool. I really hate it. I think she'll get a pretty decent settlement from Gerard. Besides, I doubt that he'll be "famous" for long and once the attention is gone, she'll probably want to move on to greener (and less nerdy) pastures.
Also, I don't think there's a lot of security in being married to someone as mentally unstable as Gerard seems to be. She would probably be better off to take the money and run.

I have maybe a dozen friends who used to listen to My Chem at one time. None of them like them anymore, and out of those people about half will tell you that they hate them now. They've gone so far as to delete their music off their itunes and getting rid of the merch.

Two things that have changed are pushing the message and the single status of band members.
It's natural for some fans to outgrow bands but I've never seen hatred like this before. What has My Chem done that is so unforgivable?
They grew up, they got married and they decided they wanted to be known more for the music and less for a message.

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CN) - The original drummer for the rock group My Chemical Romance says the band cheated him of royalties from its first album and won't show him the books. Matthew Pelissier sued his former bandmates and Eyeball Records, which distributed the album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love."
Pelissier said he has not been paid for his work on the album since October 2004, one month after leaving the band. According to Nielsen SoundScan, more than 285,000 copies of the album had been sold as of January.
Pellissier says that when he left the band he was granted "an undivided twenty percent income interest in the group masters."
He claims that a clause in the agreement stating that he "shall have no direct audit or inspection rights against Eyeball or any third party," is "not valid or enforceable."
He also sued current band members Gerald Way, Raymond Toro, Frank Iero and Michael Way, and the band itself.
Pellissier says Eyeball owes the band additional royalties from digital sales of songs and music videos sold through iTunes that were not part of the original agreement. He is represented by Nicholas Schillaci of Paterson, N.J.

Matt Pelissier is just bloody right to sue their asses. He played on the records, he did the tours of shitty bars and clubs before the band got noticed, he should get full recognition and royalties for it. It is not Bob's fault that Pelissier left the band (obviously, I'm not that clueless), but all the hard work was done when he joined so it's not as if he deserves as much recognition as the others - they were the ones doing all the hard work and promoting themselves right from the beginning. Hmm, I have to say that girl is right. Not with the 'glad of getting rid of Matt', but with him not fitting in because of his looks.
I really think that's the real reason why they got rid of him and not because he was a bad drummer or had a drinking problem.
I had a seminar about music business once and our prof showed us a picture of a rock band and asked us what we would think of them and if we would sign them after we listened to one of their tracks.
All of us said yes and then he told us that in the biz, they first would get rid of the drummer and the guitar player, because they just don't fit in and don't look good. We all were really astounded.
That's the truth. Band members get thrown out of bands because they don't look good.

I don't think that, if ever, he only had problems with Ray. Just because he was the only one being outspoken about their alleged problems with Matt in interviews whereas the others kept rather quiet, it doesn't have to mean that they both had problems with each other.
There are some bands who are just so amazing to listen to, but who aren't all that pretty and they haven't managed to attain the same level of success as MCR.
Case in point: Motion City Soundtrack. They are so good. Their lyrics are brilliant and their musics is consistently good, plus they put on a great live show. I've tried to turn a lot of my MCR fan friends onto them, but they just aren't interested. Why? Not pretty enough.
Such a bummer.

After the LM show she met Frank and then she and the rest of the porkies kept posting a poem that obviously had to do with their meeting. They kept posting it over and over again until he saw it. I read a book called Something Incredible This Way Comes and it was released just after TBP. It was like an unofficial biography and the author used quotes from magazines and interviews and stuff and in the section about Matt's departure from the band, he quoted Gerard having said "We don't talk shit" when asked about it. I remember thinking that that comment could be taken entirely out of context. Did he mean "we don't bitch about people" or "we don't want to talk about him as he is a piece of shit"? I'm still not sure what he meant with that comment, but I get the feeling Matt's departure was on very bad terms. It couldn't have been because of a drinking problem, surely, because of GW's well-known problem with drink? That's extremely hypocritical. If it was because Matt was 'ugly', that's just so pathetic. You'd have thought that a founding member of a band who worked so damn hard to get noticed, self promoting and co-writing the band's first ever song couldn't possibly be thrown out?
