I'm no fangirl and personally I think he looks better without the beard, but that girl didn't just 'point out' Frank's beard (I'm pretty sure he already knew it was there!) but she went out of her way to be rude to Frank. If you insult someone you have to expect a comeback. Just like in real life and just like on this blog.
I think that if you're a celebrity and you're going to put yourself out there on the internet, you're also going to have to accept that people are going to say mean things to you. That's a gross generalisation but yeah the majority of people are probably going prefer beardless Frank cos it's what they're used to, me included. If everyone said exactly what they thought we would all be in big trouble. I have no problem with what Frank said to that girl, she deserved it, it was unprovoked and nasty. If she had insulted me I would have said a hell of a lot worse.

For what? I just don't think they're going to change their image and suddenly get a completely different audience. That just doesn't happen unless the band in question is on the same level as, say, The Beatles musically. And I don't care what Gerard says about MCR being "the best band in the world", they aren't even on the same plane as The Beatles.
I don't think age excuses behaviour. People need to learn that you can't shit talk people (unprovoked, she went out of her way to insult him) and walk away unscathed. The sooner people learn that life lesson the better.

I agree with you there. But I just don't see it happening. The looney fans have done a pretty good job of driving away the sane ones and in order to attract a completely new audience, they'd have to come out with something a shit ton better than their cover of Desolation Row or that pathetic World is Ugly excuse for a song.

Yes, it's weird the way that the loony fans are the ones that will stay no matter what. As for the twitter thing, I do understand what you are saying but I see it from Frank's point of view too. For all we know he may have ignored the first 99 comments making fun/insulting how he looks at the moment and that 100th one just pushed him over the edge. We only got to see that one we don't know how many he recieved that he just ignored. I've met him lots of times and he has always spent lots of time chatting, once was even in our town centre during the day before a show and he was a sweetheart. He spent at least 20 mins talking to us and was asking what we had been buying and telling us what bargains he had bought in H&M. He was really grounded and friendly. He totally doesn't think of himself as a hottie, I think he has issues about the way he looks which is probably why he reacted the way he did.
When will MCR get it? To the fangirls - looks came first, music second.

Experts say that when dealing with fans you shouldn't get personal with them. When you do it cause some think that the celebrity really cares for them. They than become obsessed stalkers.
I get the feeling one day some of the famous people on twitter are going to come home to find some fan in their bed because they were nice to them on twitter.

I think it's MCR's own fault. They shouldn't have started with Twitter to begin with.
