I disagree. I think that was just because, in a way, he was ashamed of Eliza or his relationship with her at the time. But Lindsey, being in a "hxc punk" band, he thought she was cool (or acceptable?) enough to show to the public.
Eliza is five years younger than LynZ so she still has time to enjoy her life and learn a few things. Like not to get involved with anyone already in a relationship, although she was not completely at fault. He had a lot to answer for. Eliza is better off without GW, like "Kat" going by his history.

And, believe me, I am not giving Gerard a halo either. I guess he never grew up. According to medical research, they say that when teenagers become addicts at such a young age their growth development and their level of maturity is stunted. If he began drinking and doing drugs at an early age, then that would explain his reckless behavior towards his health and his relationships. His mentality, no matter how intellectual he may want to appear to impressionable teens, is one of a teen himself. Hence, the cheating.
My point is you reap what you sow. Treat others like you would like to be treated. He has a history of cheating and instead of being a grown up and treating his relationships with a sense of maturity, he opted to cheat.
My advice for Gerard would be to go back to therapy, learn how to treat others, and grow the fuck up before it bites you in the ass....

I know this if off subject, but what really annoys me about TUA is the amount of merch for it. I have never seen so much merch released in such a short time for a new comic series. Then today I got to look at the new releases coming out at Dark Horse and listed with all the comics and manga is The Umbrella Academy Button Pack and composition book. In other words four badges and a notebook. Last month was figurines, now this. It's just over saturation, Gerard is really trying to squeeze as much money from his fans as possible.

From May, 1999 to Augest, 2007, MSI appeared in Kerrang! 3 times. From September, 2007 to the present, they've been in it 24 times. Not only that, from May, 1999 - August 2007, MSI has a grand total of 56 mentions in various publications listed. From September 2007 - present, they list 100 publications.
So, in the past 16 months, they've received nearly twice as much coverage in the press than they did in the 8 years before Lindsey married Gerard. And in Kerrang, they received 8 times more attention in 16 months than in the previous 8 years.
No wonder Jimmy and Steve insist that Lindsey isn't leaving the band.

I put most of the blame for the Gerard and Eliza fiasco on Gerard as well, 9:42.
Gerard had to know how Eliza felt about him, and instead of telling her from the start that he was involved with someone else, he asked for her email. He was stringing her along, probably telling her stories about how unsupportive his other girlfriend was and how he wished she could be more like Eliza, etc. That's what men in relationships/marriages say to girls they want to have affairs with.
If Eliza had half a brain, she would have refused to get involved with him while he was with somebody else, but let's face it. The girl's not blessed in the IQ department.
But regardless of anything else, the way Gerard broke up with Eliza was just unforgivable. He didn't even behave like a human being on that one. There is just no excuse for that kind of cruelty.

Oh and on a sidenote, I think they came totally unprepared for the media coverage. All of them, but Lynz mainly, due to her lack of interview technique and more intense eyeballing, fucked up beautifully! I get the feeling they don't what LynZ on tour with them in Europe. I wouldn't be surprised if they talked her into staying back home in the States, using her pregnancy as a convenient excuse. They have good supporting bands on tour with them. Dir en grey has probably been the reason why their shows are starting to show high ticket sales there. They have a big following in Europe.
Maybe they want to see how many "fans" will turn up with out her there. The must be curious about the effects of her not being there.
