The dictionary definition of hypocrisy...

Lindsey: "just sensitive to anything that perpetuates girl on girl hate. that "im better than your gf and heres why shtict is nonsense."

Never wanted to dance with nobody but you-
wouldn't take "no" for an answer, you fucking bitch!

5 Year Old Mother Fuckin Pantyshot Cant Complain
I Didnt Even Touch Her So I Cant Be Blamed
5 Year Old
Pantyshot In My Brain
My Life Has Meaning When She Spreads Her Legs
5 Year Old Pantyshot

I Suffer Again Because Me Want To Fuck And Touch
And Fuck And Touch The Children

Etc. I don't need to quote all their stupid misogynist lyrics because I'd be here all day and so would everyone else.

So other music is "nonsense" and Lindsey is such a feminist but ..... Yeh. We all know where this is going.

Aw, you shouldn't talk about yourself like that, anon. :(

"Leathermouth honestly scared me the first time I read the lyrics. It will have you doing a double take... misogyny, rape, murder, are all prevalent themes, and in the sense of "It's cool to rape and murder!", not in the Nirvana sentiment of seemingly condoning something to say the opposite ("Rape Me")."

^ This is what MSI does (Nirvana) yet it seems none of you see that.

Anonymous said...

So you're saying that MSI seems to condone misogyny, hatred of homosexuals and child abuse in order to say the opposite?

Yes, I've heard that before. Thing is, Jimmy Urine isn't as talented as Kurt Cobain when it comes to writing his lyrics and his onstage persona and habit of telling the press that MSI is the anti-message band, etc. just makes MSI look like they take everything as a joke.

I don't really believe that MSI is anti-gay, misogynistic, or that they advocate child molestation. I think they simply use shocking lyrics in a failed attempt to appear artsy.

Anonymous said...

Didn't you know? Jimmy Urine is this generation's Vladimir Nabokov.

All kidding aside, it's kind of hard to take a band seriously when their frontman is named Jimmy Urine.

I think MSI is essentially harmless and I don't dislike MCR because of their connection to them.

I dislike MCR because of the behavior of the members of the band. I dislike them because they misrepresented themselves for years in order to sell records and merch to impressionable young girls. I dislike them because Gerard, Frank and Bob are assholes and Ray and Mikey seem to be completely clueless. The list goes on, but none of it has anything to do with MSI. Not for me, anyway.

Artsy and satirical, of course. ^_~

In their owns minds. But wait:

Steve: We don’t go out of our way to shock anybody, or to get a title. I don’t think that’s necessarily accurate.
Jimmy: I mean it’s not surprising!
Steve: If it is, it’s unintentional. I don’t like bands that are intentionally shocking; I think that’s pretentious.

If Lindsey doesn't return to MSI they will completely dissolve into nothingness. They won't even have the following they had before the MCR connection because they alienated them all by joining up with MCR. I wonder if Jimmy Piss will think that year of sudden notoriety was worth it when they can't fill even the smallest clubs. The MCR/MSI marriage got them on the covers of magazines, put them in arenas and made them some bucks. Without Lindsey they are screwed. Lucky for Jimmy he's married to a talented woman with rich parents.

Anonymous said...

Okay, so MSI doesn't have a message, so they can't be "for" or "against" anything in their music. And they aren't going out of their way to be shocking because that would be "pretentious" (even with songs like 5 year old Panty Shot). And they aren't promoting an anti-gay, misogynist or racist agenda...

So what exactly is it that they are trying to do? The only thing I can think of is to be buffoons, because that's what they look like to me.

Anonymous said...

Lucky for Jimmy he's married to a talented woman with rich parents.

I agree with that because even if Lindsey does go back with MSI I don't think the following they gained with MCR is going to stick around for long, Lindsey or no Lindsey. I just don't see MCR maintaining the fanbase they used to have. Most of the real fans jumped ship when Gerard decided to become hardcore after PR.

I think MCR's association with MSI hurt both bands in the long run.

Anonymous said...

Lol. If Jimmy's smart he'll be following Lindsey's lead and making a baby as soon as possible so as to secure his meal ticket.

Was she being "ironic" or is she really into Radiohead? I'm thinking ironic since the lyrics are from Creep.

I wish my "relationship" with this band began & ended with The Black Parade. I loved that album & had a great time at the live show. I'm only now starting to be able to listen to those songs again.

Kapunua said...

That's funny that you can listen to them again, because for me there's no going back. I chucked all three CD's. It's too bad because for a while I enjoyed the crap out of them. But now the whole thing just sounds ugly to me. Weird. I just can't undo that perception.

Anonymous said...

It almost seems to me like Gerard regrets having done TBP, which must feel like a slap in the face to fans who came on board with that record.

Anonymous said...

I started listening with Three Cheers and I used to love that record. I tried to go back and listen recently -- just to the songs I really loved: Give 'em Hell Kid, Prison, Deathwish -- but I couldn't do it. Gerard's voice just made me angry.

I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to them again.

resurrected wreck said...

I don't associate TBP with the the ass-hattedness of the rest of the stuff surrounding this band, to be honest. TBH came out before I really know who MCR were, and the idea I formed in my mind about them was, really, so far away from the real thing they might as well have been two totally separate bands.

Anonymous said...

There is so much other good music out there to listen to. I don't really feel the need to listen to MCR anymore.

TBS released a great record not too long ago. Artwork by The Used is great, despite the fact that it got mixed reviews from critics. It might take a few listens, but if you give it a chance, it could very well be one of your favorites. I love it.

Daisy by Brand New is excellent too. It's a bit of a departure from their last record and like Artwork, you might give it a few listens before making up your mind.

People here have recommended some other good bands. Kings of Leon are a great band. Their earlier records are fantastic but I like the new ones too. Forget the fact that Use Somebody and Sex on Fire have been played to death on the radio and go back and listen to some of their earlier records and some of the non-single tracks on Only By the Night. They have an impressive catalog that critics and folks in the UK loved.

Jeff Buckley is amazing (seems Frances knows a little bit about good music). Somebody here recommended Jimmy Gnecco and Ours, which I've been listening to almost non-stop ever since.

People here have mentioned Muse, Radiohead, Bon Iver, MGMT, Arctic Monkeys...so much good music and so little time.

Music makes me happy. It really does give me something to look forward to in my life. I'm sure there are many other bands out there just waiting to be discovered and rediscovered. I'm not going to waste my time listening to a band that brings me down (MCR).

I think all of us would do well to leave MCR behind and move on.

Kapunua said...

Lo Fidelity Allstars is one of my favorite bands. They are so right up there with 30 Seconds to Mars, TBS, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen.

30 has a new album coming out any minute now. and Dig, Lazarus Dig!!! by Nick Cave is awesome.

Most of the real fans jumped ship when Gerard decided to become hardcore after PR.

What exactly made Gerard and MCR so hardcore ? His association with that bunch of idiots in the guise of a "band". Or his marriage to his "punk princess", aka a heavily tattooed airhead.

Anonymous said...

It was more the attitude the band took on during/after Pro Rev than anything.

People have assumed that Gerard was trying to impress his new buddies in MSI, but I think there was more to it than that. I think he was tired of getting criticism from other bands for being a bunch of "cupcakes" (something that he used to act like he embraced). I think he was tired of people throwing boas onstage and questioning his sexuality. I think maybe those "pointy shoe motherfuckers" (whoever the hell they were) had finally gotten to him.

Maybe MSI did give him some tips on how to make the band seem more hardcore, and maybe to a degree he was trying to impress them. But regardless, MSI didn't put a gun to his head or even twist his arm. And they certainly didn't make Frank do his 180 and start acting like a class A jackass.

I also think that whatever went down between the band and Brian had a lot to do with the change in MCR. I think maybe Brian was the mastermind behind their earlier image and that he lost control of them during PR. Now that Brian is gone, they won't ever go back to acting like good little boys again.

I'm a teenager of the 90's and I have never really left that music behind. So much great stuff came out during that time. Music was much more raw and less contrived then it is now. Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Mazzy Star, L7 and even Hole. Courtney Love is a complete nutter but Live Through This was and is still a great record. Does anyone listen to Heather Nova? She's amazingly brilliant. Her first record can't be beat.

Anonymous said...

I find it odd that Frances posted Radiohead lyrics on her twitter.

Of course she'll like whatever MCR members like, and in this case, its obviously she's copying Mikey.

Anonymous said...

I believe, October 1, 2009 3:49 AM, you are forgetting the 'Gerard Fucked Out of His Mind on Drugs' factor. I am sure that had something to do with his complete turn around during that time.

I'd personally prefer a bunch of "cupcakes" worthy of the attention and admiration, than a bunch of disgusting worthless assholes trying to impress or be like their "hardcore" bedfellows.

Now MCR are just like everyone else. Nothing. I can't believe anyone would strive for that.

Anonymous said...

I like this band better when I don't know how they look like, who they're fucking and all the bullshit they said in interviews. =[

Anonymous said...

I do think that drugs and a fall from the wagon fueled Gerard's foray into hxc during and after PR. But, that doesn't explain the rest of the band.

Do they just follow him blindly or is some kind of little tyrant with a Napoleon Complex who manages to exert undue influence on them? Maybe he and Mikey own copyright to the band name and he threatens to kick them out or something. Or maybe they were all just as drugged up/drunk as he was.

But now that he has B&it I would like to think that he and Lindsey have cleaned up their act. Is that too much to hope for?

Anonymous said...

Matt's from Chicago and Kill Hannah was formed in the 1993. I doubt very seriously that Mikey and Matt even knew one another back when Mikey was going to high school in Jersey.

Besides, didn't Mikey learn to play (?) bass when MCR formed? Oh wait...he auditioned to be in Pencey Prep before MCR. Yeah. Mikey's full of shit and he's pulling the fandom's collective leg on this one. Never take anything he or his brother say literally.

Anonymous said...

I don't much care for Kill Hannah. I've liked one or two of their songs, but I think everything they do sounds alike. I listened to them for a couple of months and got tired of them really quickly.

Anyone remember when Gerard said in an interview that he stalked Christina Ricci as a teenager? When I first heard that I found it a little endearing. Thinking about it now, it's creepy. The act itself, but also that he brought it up after 10 or so years. Who would openly admit to stalking a celebrity? Especially someone who was in the public eye as well? It speaks volumes.

your_sweet_insanity said...

I was thinking about that today. I reckon he made that up too.

Anonymous said...

I would not define anyone stalking anyone as endearing.

I don't think he was stalking her in the true sense of the word. Maybe it was just a big crush.

Anonymous said...

I don't think he was stalking her in the true sense of the word. Maybe it was just a big crush

I think he said he knew the neighborhood where she lived and he used to ride his bicycle up and down her street trying to get a glimpse of her or something similar to that.

I remember thinking about that when Mikey called that girl on twitter "creepy" for saying that she had been hanging outside the recording studio hoping to meet him. Wouldn't Gerard riding up and down Christina Ricci's street make him creepy too?

Anonymous said...

The banner for the official MCRmy page had been changed to the one that says "Let The Devil Sort Them Out". Some fans speculated that this will be the title for their new album.

Anonymous said...

How metal.

Or not.

Anonymous said...

Isn't that based on a quote from The Crusades or something? "Kill them all and let God sort them out," or something like that.

For some reason it reminds me of the comic Preacher. Whatever, you know Gerard had to have stolen it from somebody.

Anonymous said...

Matt's from Chicago and Kill Hannah was formed in the 1993

Wouldn't that make Mikey 13 when he tried out, and not 17 like he said.

I've heard that Kill Hannah formed in 95, but that would still make him only 15, and still prove his tweet a lie.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't it depend on the line up? I don't know much about that band but maybe someone left about 12 years ago and Mikey was asked to try out to replace them or stand in? A bit like how Bob was asked to try out, even though MCR had already been formed for a few years at the time.

Anonymous said...

Oh come on. Mikey was just joking. He probably wanted to see who was gullible enough to believe him.

Why would anyone want him to play in their band...unless it was his brother? He's always been the weakes link in MCR.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Mikey is hoping to join Kill Hannah?

I agree that he's always been the weakest link in MCR up until recently, but at the Roxy and Summer Sonic shows, he was probably the most energetic and entertaining band member onstage.

Especially after seeing the pitiful look on Mikey's face when Gerard made that stupid, insensitive comment about Pro Rev being the point where the band became "who they are now", I would love to see Mikey tell Gerard to go fuck himself.

People are speculating they're going to be on the Simpsons.

The Simpsons isn't anything like it once was, but I don't think they're that desperate to have a cameo of a near-extinct emo band on. But who knows. Maybe Gerard's covering his bases and kissing ass in the TV industry now. And hardly anything surprises me when it comes to this band anymore.

Anonymous said...

Does the Simpsons still come on? Lol, it would be kind of appropriate, don't you think? A nearly extinct emo band making an appearance on a nearly extinct animated comedy show?

Seriously, I don't know anybody who still watches the Simpsons.

Anonymous said...

The Simpsons isn't as popular as Family Guy nor as notorious as South Park, but a lot of people still watch it.

I can't imagine why they would want MCR to be on it though. My thinking is that this is another of Mikey's "let's get the fandom buzzing" tactics. Remember the "Reading and Leeds" incident.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand why Mikey pulled that Reading and Leeds stunt. If I was still a fan and lived near one of those festivals, I think I would have been pissed off. It's like with Gerard and his promise of videos for Prison, Mama and a couple of others. When he talks out of his ass like that and doesn't follow through it used to make me mad. Now I don't believe a word any of them says anymore. Is that what they want? For people to always blow off the things they say like the Boy Who Cried Wolf?

They're a bunch of idiots. They really are.

Anonymous said...

I'm not surprised if they'll be featured in The Simpsons. Smashing Pumpkins and Green Day were in the show before and MCR being the spoiled baby of Reprise, have to have whatever their 'older brothers' have.

I saw him closeup, but he wouldn't stop to talk to anyone. He is very small, with rounded shoulders. At the time he looked quite young, but now he looks so much older.

I met Frank a few times and he is very nice and he has ridiculously clear skin. I was kinda mad. ;)

What Reading and Leeds incident with Mikey?

Kapunua said...

Oh, and I have ot mention this every time the subject of meeting people comes up.

I've had the good fortune to meet Jared Leto a couple of times. I have to tell you, he's so beautiful in person that it's really kind of breathtaking. He makes you want to look away . I felt so self conscious standing beside him I was like, "Don't look at me!" ^_^

What's more is that he is just about a nice a chap as you could meet. Big smile, kind words, generous heart, lots of fun.

I'd also like to add that as gorgeous as you might think Jared Leto is, Shannon Leto is about ten times hotter. He's only a little dude, maybe around 5'6", but he is one tight little package and his cat-eyes are like this ridiculous, fictional green and gold. Nice. :)

Anonymous said...

I always hear that Jared Leto is a douche to fans, and that Gerard is an angel. Weird to hear accounts that it's the very opposite.

What Reading and Leeds incident with Mikey?

Mikey insinuated on Twitter that MCR would be playing Reading and Leeds this year (Aug 2009) but nothing transpired.

I wonder if anyone here has met Gerard before? I just want an honest opinion on how he looks in real life and the fansites are not really helping (the fans always said he looks attractive, the most handsome man alive, yada yada...)

I met him in March 2007. Like Kapunua said he is quite hunched and small for a guy. I would say similar to me, and I'm about 5ft 7". He said very little to the crowd, but I got a hug. Weirdly he hugs quite tight, I am not a tactile person, so I noticed that. Otherwise he appeared uncomfortable, but seemed sweet enough. It was post gig so he was hot and flushed and sweaty, so not at his best, but neither was I!

Anonymous said...

My friend met Jared Leto a while back and said he had the most perfect skin she had ever seen. Also he was super nice.

My cousin met Frank Iero last year (April ish 2008?) and said he was one of the most genuine guys she had met. He was very attentive and friendly to the fans. Gerard didn't come out to meet the fans. Mikey, Bob and Ray were in the background but never came over to his group of friends.

Anonymous said...

I've met the band about five times. Gerard is not nearly as attractive up close as he appears in videos and pictures. He has terrible posture and when he talks to you its in this really high pitched voice. He was nice enough I suppose, but Frank has always been the nicest one. The last show he stood outside the bus and smoked with us and let us play with his dog. He's also the most attractive out of the bunch.

Anonymous said...

Kapunua, on the one hand you get on Gerard's case for being small but on the other hand you go on to call Shanon Leto "hot" when he is even shorter.

So make up your mind. It's just obvious you have something against Gerard.

I've also heard of Jared Leto being a douche to his fans. Whereas Gerard has always been nice.

Anonymous said...

I have met both frank and gerard, both were friendly but gerard seemed sort of nervous and shy, the complete opposite of his stage persona. Frank seemed much more relaxed and spent longer with each person. They've both given me a hug, and I agree that Gerard does give really tight squeezy hugs and he has really big hands that are very soft.
All I can remember from frank's hug was that he hugs for a long ass time and I remember resting my head on his chest ( I'm only 5ft so he seemed tall to me!)

Kapunua said...

3:22, I didn't get on Gerard's case for being short. I just said that he was.

A lot of it has to do with the way someone carries his or herself. Gerard is all hunched over and, even more than that, he has a really arrogant way about him. He looks at people like they're beneath him. At least that's how he was the night that I saw him. He was just too good for everyone. He is a small man.

Shannon Leto, he's even shorter than Gerard but he's kind of ripped, and he carries himself like he's about six feet tall. Shoulders back, chin up, big smile and open arms. That's a whole world of difference.

And to a point, you're right. It doesn't matter what a person actually looks like or how tall they are. If there was a scrap of sincerity and originality in Gerard Way he'd be really cute. On the other hand, you take someone physically non-descript and if they have passion, sincerity, kindness etc. they are naturally very attractive. If Jared Leto had acted like a huge tool to me, I wouldn't think he was such a hottie after all. But as it stands, I've only ever see him acting kind and generous to everyone. I've met him about four times and he's just very giving and friendly. He's also whip-smart.

Though admittedly he has appalling taste in women. Goddamn. ;)

Kapunua said...

*HIM or herself. Dang!

Anonymous said...

I agree with Kapunua. Frank is teeny but he carries himself well, big warm smile and open arms for hugs. Gerard is maybe an inch or two taller but he hunches and it just looks unattractive.

Wow. Where exactly are you from anon? Cuz where I live, that show rules like a God. Everyone knows it. You don't have to watch it regularly, to have it pretty regular in your life. You ever play the pinball machine of it back in the 90's or say, yesterday? Ever worn a tee with one of the characters on it? You have a plastic cup from 7-11 with one of the characters on it? How about a pillow case? A baseball hat? Or a skateboard? Stickers? Eaten a Butterfinger lately anon?

It no longer matters how many people 'tune in' or 'like' that show, they have made their mark on the fucking planet. And having cameo's of various sorts, has been a staple of that show. Numerous bands, as well (no regard for how many fans they may or may not have -in anyone's opinion).

I'm not trying to denfend Mikey Way, but you may want to check out the last tweet he did, as it is a picture of an autograph from Matt G. TO MIKEY WAY.

Get you're facts straight. Don't base them on you're opinion of the band. It just makes you look like someone who watches South Park.

I didn't recall reading where anyone said that they stood perfectly erect, anon. Did you?

I've met Gerard as well and it was actually before a show. I had VIP passes for my PR. Gerard barely looked at anybody and acted extremely pissed off that he had to deal with fans. He didn't speak at all. And guess what? He was all hunched over. Pre-show.

Look at videos of him onstage and pictures of him with fans. He nearly always looks hunched over.

So yeah. Like it or not, the dude has horrible posture and he looks much shorter in person than he does onstage.

Kapunua said...

Working hard should actually give you better posture. But the way he stands just screams of smallness and weakness. The dude has zero upper body strength; super-stretched rhomboids and traps, and short, weak pecs. It takes work but it's fixable for anyone who cares about their body.

Kapunua said...

Incidentally, anon, Jared Leto works ten times as hard on stage as Gerard does--yes, I've seen both live shows--and he doesn't stand that way. More importantly,he doesn't act that way.

I've met Jared too, Kapunua and I agree that he was so beautiful it made me uncomfortable. Shannon seemed more accessible and he's much better looking in person than he is onscreen and in pictures. And both of them were incredibly nice to everyone. I can't say the same for Gerard.

I've also met Kings of Leon in person and despite the fact that they have a reputation for being so-called douchebags, they were all much nicer to me and my friends than Gerard was. Caleb seemed very shy, but he did give us a smile and a few words. And speaking of beautiful. That entire family is gorgeous. All of them have flawless skin and gorgeous eyes and they don't wear make-up onstage. Even Matthew, the "ugly cousin" was gorgeous in person.

Anonymous said...

Shannon seemed more accessible

Let me clarify that comment. Shannon wasn't any nicer than Jared, he just looks more accessible because he isn't prettier than I am. ^_~

Anonymous said...

When I saw 30stm at TOC a couple of years ago, Jared actually walked out upright into the audience. He also made his entrance into the arena from the back, carrying a flag. At one point during the show Jared left the stage and ran the entire circumference of the arena, giving high fives to people who were seated in the lower sections. He busted his ass and he had to have been exhausted, but still he didn't hit one sour note. Then after the show the band promised to stay and meet every last fan who wanted an autograph. And he didn't hunch over once either during or after the show.

Maybe if Gerard was in better shape and didn't smoke like a stack (and probably do drugs) he would be able to stand up straight like Jared and Shannon Leto too.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget drinking.

How dare all of you make assumpions about Gerard drinking and using drugs. He says he's been clean and sober since 2004 and I believe him. I have no reason to doubt him and neither do you.

I wish he could get all your names so he could sue your asses.

Anonymous said...

Its an assumption anon, not a fact they are stating. His wife drinks, as there are plenty of pictures from MSI's last tour where she has alcohol at hand. It's a natural assumption to assume that perhaps he picked drinking back up. Is it a fact? No, but its an assumption and an opinion. Just going back to this for a mo - if they really do end up with a guest cameo, you just know they're going to be Simpsonised as The Black Parade lol

How dare all of you make assumpions about Gerard drinking and using drugs. He says he's been clean and sober since 2004 and I believe him. I have no reason to doubt him and neither do you.

I wish he could get all your names so he could sue your asses.

Well good for you. People are allowed to have an opinion, whether you like it or not.

5:39, I know what you mean about more accessible. Shannon isn't quite as overwhelming. But then when you meet him, he is very intense. He doesn't steamroll you but he's just very "there." As far as both Leto brothers go, they both look you dead in the eye when they talk to you. Hey, what have they got to lose, right? :D

6:04, I saw 30 at TOC also and they made the same entrance and Jared did the same exact thing. I actually have videos of their entrance as well as Jared running the entire arena here. (It's a super long review but I have tons of videos up there.) At one point he got real close to my young cousin and I and he turned his basilisk eyes right on the both of us and I swear we turned right to stone. ^_^ He is beautiful and a little scary. ;D

Just because Gerard says something, doesn't make it so.

I've met several people Jared being one and he was so friendly.. you could tell he wanted to be with everyone.

Joey Ramone also stands out in my mind although i only met him when i was 7 again he was like JAred wanted to be with everyone.

Green Day stand out in my mind though. I've met them several times. I met them on Warped and Bilie was sick but was still out meeting with fans signing autographs.. I also met them on AMerican Idiot and Tre had hurt his leg on stage.. still met with people.

I've met Bob and Ray, bob was polite but in a rush... Ray was very cheerful and laidback

quite personally i think a video for Mama would have been awesome

Anonymous said...

If Gerard had directed it, I'm pretty sure that a Mama video would have been over the top stupid and would have sucked. Also, it would have completely dashed any hopes that the band has to change their image.

Anonymous said...

Whether a Mama video would have been good or not is beside the point.

Gerard told fans in an interview that they were going to be making a video for it and that he was going to direct. Later, when Frank was asked about it, he said he hadn't heard anything about it. Gerard just pulled that story out of his ass like he does so many other things.

A lot of fans believed him and a lot of fans were disappointed.

I have met Gerard and Frank twice, once in 05, they were both very nice and polite, (although Gerards posture is terrible!)
The next time was in november 07, and Frank was sweet and chatted, Gerard was with his wife, and wouldnt talk, some people said he wanted to come over, but she was saying "Dont we gotta go", so he shrugged his shoulders and mouthed over "Sorry"!
I think he's what you say pussywhipped?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, there's a video of that floating around somewhere. They'd only been married about a month.

People used to blame Eliza when Gerard was rude and didn't want to meet fans when they were together.

I've also met Kings of Leon in person ... And speaking of beautiful. That whole family is gorgeous. All of them have flawless skin and gorgeous eyes

How did you manage to meet them? I've been to two of their shows this year and nobody seems to be able to get anywhere near the band. The closest I came was getting to say a few words to Nacho who is pretty cute himself. He was very sweet and he has the trademark Followill eyes. His hair was nice too, but I didn't particularly notice his skin. Which brings me to a question. How can you tell much about their skin with those scruffy beards? Jared does look like he has nice skin in pictures but I can't tell much about the others.

In my opinion, Lindsey is just as bigger fake as her husband. Face it, MSI needed every single one of their fans pre MCR.

Okay I found a scan of Caleb that makes him look pretty flawless except for the sprinkling of freckles across his nose. Warning. This picture is huge but damn. He is pretty. You have to click the image again to get the fullsize.

This has got to be photoshopped. No one's pores are that small. I have to find a way to meet this man and see him up close. :/

How did you manage to meet them (KoL)? I've been to two of their shows this year and nobody seems to be able to get anywhere near the band.

I started listening to the Kings back in 2005 so I was into them way before they became known in the States. The used to play really small venues back then and they would sometimes hang out with fans after shows. I've met them twice, once in 06 and once in 07.

This has got to be photoshopped. No one's pores are that small.

While that picture may or may not have been photoshopped, Caleb does have exquisite skin. The first time I met him was back in his clean-shaven, skinny days (probably when he was still doing coke) and he looked amazing. He didn't have a single blemish on him. Like Jared Leto, it's almost hard to be around the guy in person because he's so goddamn gorgeous.

The closest I came was getting to say a few words to Nacho

Nacho is the best. He always has a smile and a few words for fans who recognize him and call him by name. He's a doll.

October 3, 2009 5:39 said...

Here is a video of Caleb back in those skinny cokehead days. Notice that even though he looks as though he could use a shampoo and he just had his hair pulled back into a ponytail, he still looks great. It must be nice to be so effortlessly attractive. His skin is like porcelain. I love his voice speaking voice too.

I think he looks great now but I loved him back then. His face is too pretty to cover up.

Anonymous said...

His speaking voice is nice. I liked what he said about the music being honest. When he talked about 'artsy' bands, I couldn't help but think about MCR. Was that interview at BDO? Maybe KoL were the 'pointy shoe motherfuckers' Gerard was going on about. They do sometimes wear cowboy boots don't they?

Anonymous said...

I just watched the whole interview, all 5 parts. He is beautiful. I never knew. His lips and eyes are sooo pretty. It's not fair. One person shouldn't be that gifted.

Does he still do drugs? I hope not.

Anonymous said...

Maybe KoL were the 'pointy shoe motherfuckers' Gerard was going on about. They do sometimes wear cowboy boots don't they?

Lol. I think they do. I know Caleb doesn't like Pete Wentz. Maybe he talked some shit about Gerard or maybe with his gigantic ego, Gerard just assumed he meant MCR when he said "artsy bands". Even though he was probably talking about Radiohead. Lol.

Anonymous said...

Was that interview at BDO? Maybe KoL were the 'pointy shoe motherfuckers' Gerard was going on about.

The interview was at BDO, but I don't think KoL and MCR played the same year. KoL played it in 2006 (that's when the interview took place) and MCR in 2007.

Still, the pointy shoe thing does kind of fit...but I don't think the two bands run in the same circles at all. But then neither do MCR and Kasabian so who knows?

Anonymous said...

Does he still do drugs? I hope not.

Nope. He still drinks but not as much as he used to.

Are you KOL Anon from Mayo's 5:39 p.m.? Haven't you figured out that nobody likes your little redneck band of nobodies. They don't bother to click on your links at Mayo's and they probably don't here either.

I guess you figured out you couldn't turn MCR fans onto them so now your after the stupid ex-fans. I guess KOL can use all the fans they can get but ex-MCR fans aren't the loyal type. They'd ditch them the first time they acted like human beings with flaws.

You ought to peddle them somewhere else.

I just got sick of hearing about KOL at Mayo's. KOL anon is annoying as fuck. She's always bragging about the shows she goes to and trying to kiss up to everybody to get them to like her band when nobody over there but Wendy does.

MCR>>>>>KOL.

Well I thought the KOL anons were a welcomed interest whilst reading at Mayo's. But each to their own I guess.

It would be nice if we could not pick on each other though, let's not get like Mayo's. It gets so ugly there at times.

MCR>>>>>KOL.

Are you still an MCR fan? Or just really hate KOL?

Anonymous said...

At Mayo's, the only time anything is "welcomed" is when they're trying to prove to Mayo and SS how nice and "welcoming" they are. How non-cliquey. But once one of the people they hate shows up, they all anon until they're blue in the face and then pretend like it wasn't them.

Nothing over there is sincere except for their hatred of a few people. All "oh hi" remarks are perfunctory.

Anonymous said...

I'm an MCR fan and proud of it. I hate any band who talks shit about MCR and I hate ex-fans too and before you ask me what I'm doing here, I like to point and laugh at all of you. MCR is far from over and when the new record comes out you'll just how popular they still are. KOL came out of nowhere and they'll go back there soon.

KOL didn't come out of nowhere though, they have been going for a decade now. Although very young at the start. I'm not even that big a KOL fan but even I can see that they have mass appeal. It's just the way it is.

KOL never talked shit about MCR. They said something like they hated artsy bands, and then went on to say, the ones whose parents have lots of money. That isn't MCR for sure!

Possibly for the same reason Muse has been around for a decade and most of America haven't heard of them (until maybe the last 3 weeks):

a)The USA is huge.
b)Your music tastes suck?

I'm kidding on the "b)" choice. I dunno, KOL have been huge in the UK for ages now, also have Muse.

Just the way it is. We are a small country I guess.

2.14 said...

I am in no way dissing the people in the USA who have known of Muse and KOL for ages. Just gross generalising. LOL.

Anonymous said...

I'm also from the UK and while I'm not a huge KOL fan, I can confirm they have been popular here for about 9 or 10 years. Their stuff has always been played to death on Kerrang too.

Anonymous said...

Do you really think KoL are a bunch of nobodies? They've recorded four studio albums and an EP and more than one live record. They've won two Brit Awards and a Grammy. They've toured with Bob Dylan, U2, Pearl Jam and Radiohead. OBTN has sold over 5 million copies and it's still in the top 20 on Billboard after more than a year since its release. You also might want to check out their facebook. They have almost 2,000,000 fans on there to MCR's 500,000.

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but have you been living under a rock?

Anonymous said...

It amazes me how stereotypical the some of MCR fans are. Not wanting to generalize, but from what I have observed they are zealots and highly intolerant.

Anonymous said...

No I don't live under a rock. I just know what I like and to me KOL should be nobodies. I don't like Radiohead or U2 or Pearl Jam and Bob Dylan is an old man who should have retired a long time ago. MCR are better than all of them put together.

Not always, but often enough for me to point this out, popularity and mediocrity don't only go hand in hand, they full-on bang in the middle of the street for all to see.

Brittney Spears is pretty damn popular as well.

This has to be a troll. There's no way every stereotype and generalization of MCR fans could exist in one person. God I hope it's a troll.

Anonymous said...

"No I don't live under a rock. I just know what I like and to me KOL should be nobodies."

Well if that isn't the most juvenile thing I've heard in awhile, I don't know what is. So because you don't like them, they should be zeroes? All based on YOUR opinion alone?

I bet you diss Miley Cyrus and Joe Jonas at every opportunity as well, because you're that hardcore.

Anonymous said...

What I don't understand is why this person has such a raging hate-on for Kings of Leon in particular. We've talked about a lot of other bands here, even The Used who have actually had a feud going with MCR. To my knowledge KoL has never said anything about MCR at all.

If we were talking about Kasabian maybe it would make sense. Is it just because KoL are so popular right now? I admit, I'm a little tired of hearing Use Somebody on the radio, but I still think they're a good band. I liked their earlier records more though.

Anonymous said...

"God I hope it's a troll."

If we were dealing with fans of any other band I would probably think this is a troll. But this is MCR we're talking about. They have the craziest fans on the planet.

Muse are awesome, they're one of the bands that I'll always come back to and listen to after a long time and realise again why I started liking them.

Just because they're not bit in the US doesn't make them any less talented. Same goes for KOL and I'm not a huge fan.

Here in the US we're pretty much force fed music.. what labels and the pop culture deem the trend at the moment... Reprise wants to focus on MCR then they force feed them to us through interviews and articles and album reviews...

I don't listen to Kol but i lsiten to Muse and not becuase they were on the twilight soundtrack.

That's one of the reason's i really hate the pop culture.. if some stupid celebrity like K-Stew suddenly decides she like a band like KOL then all the little fan girls are going crazy for that band and while its great they like them for the wrong reasons.

Why do you think Muse is suddenly so popular in the US? Not a lot of people knew who they were before they were on the Twilight soundtrack.

Anonymous said...

Both KoL and Muse deserve every bit of popularity that they have achieved in the US. They've both worked very hard; they both have great back catalogs and they're both great live.

And to be fair, KoL became popular in the US before K-Stew and RPattz jumped on the bandwagon.

Let me clarify that. Muse's association with Twilight hurt them among the particular group of people that I hang out with. A lot of my friends still like the music but they just don't want to be connected to Twilight in any way.

The best think KoL could have done as far as my friends are concerned is turning down the New Moon soundtrack.

I think the fact that Radiohead contributed to Twilight made it a little bit more acceptable, although there was a ton of bitching and moaning about it among Radiohead fans.

Yes they did turn it down. I was afraid they would put Closer on it, which is one of my favorite songs from OBTN. I was very relieved when KoL decided against it.

Anonymous said...

I hate the way we get fed music in the US.

I love Muse, but I never would have known about them if I hadn't seen them opening for MCR. It's kind of a shame that so many kids are being introduced to them because of Twilight.

Anonymous said...

I hate how we get fed music here in the US too, but it almost seems like most kids not only accept it, but they embrace it. They go out and buy music they get spoonfed by some stupid sountrack or they decide to listen to a band just because they opened for another band or because someone in another band (or a celebrity) likes them. I can't begin to tell you how many of my friends went out and bought Dresden Dolls records just because Gerard said he liked them.

Another thing that makes me crazy is how people get locked into a specific genre and won't go outside it. I think that happens a lot with MCR fans, which is probably why our little KoL hater has such strong feelings about them. They're about as different from MCR as you can get, which is one of the reasons they appeal to me. I think people should be open to all kinds of music.

No I'm not but I've spoken to her a few times at Mayo's.

Are you the crazy who was sending emails to the other KoL anon who posted there?

I realize you think the Kings only have maybe 2 fans, but that's not true. We're everywhere. Back when KoL first started saturating the airwaves in the states a lot of us used to post links to their earlier music and live performances at places like ontd because we wanted people in the US to know they existed before Sex on Fire. MCR fansites aren't the best places to do that obviously, and I think the KoL anons at Mayo's figured that out, but this isn't an MCR fansite. Jeez.

Why do you have such a huge problem with them? It seems a little crazy to me.

Okay. Well I guess that makes about as much sense as anything else you've said, although I would like for you to show me where KoL talked shit about MCR. I cerainly haven't seen it. He didn't really say anything about FOB either. He just indicated that he didn't want to talk about Pete Wentz when an interviewer brought him up at Reading.

No offense taken, but Caleb cut his hair way back in 2007. It was long in the video for On Call but by the time they released Charmer it was short. Both of those songs were from their earlier CD Because of the Times. His hair was also short and he was clean shaven at Lollapalooza 07. The band didn't take off in the states until after the release of OBTN in late 08.

I'm not saying that their new image hasn't helped them win over female fans, but you really can't compare it to the influx of teenies into the MCR fandom.

I've been to several of KoL's shows this year and the type of people who come to them has changed a lot since 05, but I haven't seen many teenage girls. Most fans are college age and older and even some 30 to 40-somethings.

Oh fuck! This is a fucking joke yeah? Please tell me so. KOL anon doesn't have to speak to Mayo. Jesus, Mayo does not give a shit anyway. Seriously you are deluded. Mayo does not give a shit. KOL was not rude. This conversation is mad.

Mayo doesn't exist. He is a figment of your imagination.

How can you say it isn't rude to go onto someone else's blog to promote another band and never even acknolege the person who owns it. KOL was rude. She didn't post about anyone but KOL like she was their street team or something. THAT WAS RUDE.

The owner of that blog is NOT Gerard Way. Why can't you understand it's not an MCR blog.

Because the blog owner isn't Gerard way. In fairness, Mayo must have been a fan (or whatever) of MCR to be assed to start that blog, to defend GW. But that shit died a long time ago. Mayo said many times that his blog was for "the lovelies" and anyone else to chat. He never expected hellos or acknowledgements. I think you are being waaay too deluded about Mayo's 1.44. How do you not know that Mayo is a massive fan of KOL and appreciates the links and pics KOL anon used to leave there.

In my opinion Mayo was always a gay/bi dude who had a thing for GW. Maybe he has moved on and now has a thing for Caleb? Who fucking knows.

The KOL anon was never rude. If she wants to talk about a band she likes she can. She added something interesting to the blog. It astounds me how you can be so narrow minded.

Why is it that everyone is so sure that SS is Frank but they don't believe Mayo is Gerard. It doesn't make sense for SS to be on Mayo's if he's just some guy.

Elena and the OPs know Mayo and SS's secret and so does Kapunua.
