Why are we not surprised?

So Gerard and Lindsey have a child and in true Hollywood style they named their new accessory "Bandit".

There's some psychology of feeling like a child is a pet, or just wanting to fit in with the "cool" crowd behind this but I'm not up to figuring it out.

What do you guys think?

this theory has been brought up before but i think he sees himself as the next tragic rock star hero like kurt cobain. he wants to build everything up and have everything crash down upon him.

Anonymous said...

Stupid, egotistical rawkstahs who can only see two feet in front of their narrow little world they create. The real tragedy is their incredible myopia and their inability to see reality.

What is so important about these people? They just play goddamn music for a living.

Good question 4:01. But, you're here too, talking, think of -those people. It's a tough call ya know.

I think I'm here cuz half of me is enraged for believing in something I really wanted to believe in. (Feeling pretty stupid while I'm at it.) And the other half is rather pathetically hoping that through all the shit, a moment of 'what once was' will shine through. All of it embarrasses the shit out of me, honestly. But, I haven't yet backed away from all of this. So...

I really hope not 3:22. I hate him for -I'll say, Encouraging- fans to believe in him (that he was different and could/would change things). And I think he brings his shit on himself. Every time.

But I don't want anything bad to happen to him.

I cannot even say how much I hope things don't get worse.

Anonymous said...

I don't think he WANTS his world to calapse on him 3:40. But I would find it hard to believe that he isn't aware that much of what he does, brings his self-destruction down on him.

He's been down that road before. I doubt it is something you forget. Even if you are under the influence and can't seem to think too clearly. I don't see how anyone that has been in that position, could forget it.

Anonymous said...

I hate to say this but I think Lindsey really is right for him. He would have made any decent girl go round the bend. An anon last night mentioned they once thought he had a brain, I once thought that too. Now it's clear whoever was looking after the band must have advised him on what to say so he would appear that way. He doesn't seem to able to think for himself at all.

Anonymous said...

If she is pulling his -strings, it would have been nice if she'd put a little more 'brain' into it as well.

That just really makes them all so pitiful, doesn't it?

Anonymous said...

I'm starting to think brains don't exit in the music industry.

Anonymous said...

Thus the problem.

:(

Anonymous said...

509 what on earth would he need brains for? He just wants a good time. Lindsey seems to be his good time girl. For now. Like Eliza was for a while.

5:20 Doesn't having a baby defeat that purpose? Maybe changing diapers is his idea of a good time now.

Anonymous said...

Funny A. Palmer didn't mention any talk about babies on twitter. That's what new mothers usually can't stop talking about.

Anonymous said...

When was the baby born again? One month ago? So, they're already tired dealing with it? Thank God, I'm not a mother, but I think that I couldn't leave my baby with a babysitter after one month already. Just sayin'.

Anonymous said...

One thing that bothers me about Gerard is his willingness to be used by these other celebrities and wannabes - it's not a lot different from the way he and Mikey allowed WMHC to use them.

Why did this Amanda Palmer feel the need to twitter updates to the world about her party and all of her celebrity friends who were showing up there and why were Gerard and Lindsey so comfortable with that? If I was at a get-together with my friends, the last thing I would want would be a bunch of teenie fangirls being made aware of my every move.

That's why I hate twitter and why I don't have one. I don't care what Shaq had for breakfast and I don't give two shits what Ashton Kutcher has to say about Michael Jackson's death.

Between Reality TV and Twitter, I think there is no longer any such thing as "celebrity mystique". Hopefully people will eventually realize that they (celebrities) are, for the most part, a bunch of dumbasses that you wouldn't even want to have as neighbors and maybe the general public's fascination with them will diminish. If that's the case, then at least something good will come out of this idiotic Twitter phenomenon.

Anonymous said...

The whole leak thing could still be legit. even if the Lyn-z/Amanda picture was taken after the group picture. She is covering the same breast he touched with her arm in the picture w/ Amanda..

And how good does your party have to be if you're on the internet every 5 minutes? If I was having a good time, I wouldn't be on the internet.

Anonymous said...

If Gerard was really covering a stain, then how stupid must you be to wear something with that color to a party in the first place? If I would be afraid that my breasts could give off a bit of mother's milk then I would be wearing something in black or with a pattern on which you can't see stains that easily, but not a bright yellow coat.
Seems as if they have no sense of prudence whatsoever.

Anonymous said...

If there was a leak, I think Lindsey could have managed to cover it herself. Maybe turned the other direction from the camera. Also, if she's wearing nursing pads, a bra, a shirt and a jacket, that would have to be a hell of a leak for it to have soaked through all of that.

I sprung a leak once at a basketball game that soaked through my shirt. I put my jacket on over it. No problem.

Also, if Gerard was attempting to be a gentleman and covering up a leak, why didn't it occur to him to give Lindsey his jacket?

Once again, Geetard, either way you look at it, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!

Anonymous said...

Lindsey has no problem flashing her crotch to the world, she doesn't shower for days on end and Gerard wears a jacket that could stand up on its own.

I don't really think a milk-stain would be that much of a big deal to her.

Anonymous said...

Oh God, I just had a thought.
Imagine if Lindsey would start 'writing' children books now and would even illustrate them.
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

Doe he ever do anything right?

Anonymous said...

Doe he ever do anything right?

Probably not, anon. But that's mostly his own fault. Back then, he only used to tell people a lot about his mental problems, but kept quiet about his relationship with his girlfriend. That's what made him classy and I think that was the best thing he could have done for him and the success of his band, because otherwise we would have scented the douchebaggery quite earlier.

Now, he seems to be using all kinds of media to show off his relationships and to show us what's actually on his mind.
So, the more he uses the public media without any filter whatsoever, be it a personal assistant, a manager or even some kind of mentor he must have had in the early days of MCR's success (Billie Joe?), he shows us that he's just a normal fucked up person.

That wouldn't be all that bad and just like I said before nobody would really care about the thoughtless nonsense he's saying or doing, but he created a public image of himself that is a total contradiction of what we're able to see now.

He is the one who's put himself on a pedestal. He is the one, who wanted to make a difference. He is the one, who wanted to save lives. He is the one, who wanted to make a stand in the music industry by not being a typical homophobic and misogynistic rock band.

And what is left now? A boob-grabbing guy who's blogging about reality-tv shows, cereals, action figures and muscle cars.

Anonymous said...

And what is left now? A boob-grabbing guy who's blogging about reality-tv shows, cereals, action figures and muscle cars.

Sad, isn't it? I'm sure there are many, many fans who are disappointed in him, just like we are. How could they not be? They just aren't as vocal about it.

Like the anon earlier said, twitter is a huge mistake. It takes away any mystique that these people might once have had. When you find out how stupid and shallow they really are you realize there's nothing to look up to.

Anonymous said...

Yes, that's right, but they bring on the ridicule and scrutiny by themselves. If they would be honest right away by saying something along the lines of I happen to write good music, but other than that, I'm just the average person you might see on the streets, who doesn't really give a fuck about anyone but themselves.

It is one thing to listen to a music artist or a band and then hear about one of them or even all of them doing some crappy things when they haven't preached about never doing such things. You, as the consumer of their music and somehow supporter of their lifestyle, can say Oh, well, everyone does stupid things. I will still listen to them. After all, they never claimed to be saints in the first place. Or you can say Fuckt that, I don't want to support idiots like that. That was the last time that I ever bought an album by them.
But I think that it is a totally different thing if you really believed to support the right people, who have the right values and moral beliefs and then find out that they fucked you over the whole time.

Anonymous said...

You're not supporting their lifestyle if you are getting their album from Limewire...just sayin'.

happyXamp said...

I'm one of those weird people who doesn't steal music. Yeah, I belong to some private music sharing communities, but I only preview music. If I like a band and want to support them, I definitely go out and buy the CD.

I bought Taking Back Sunday's latest. I even bought all the silly DVD editions they kept coming out with for Louder Now. I buy their videos on iTunes.

I haven't bought anything MCR since The Black Parade and I won't be buying anything of theirs in the future.

Re: Limewire. Well, but the thing is, I actually don't care to hear their music anymore. Gerard's voice turns me the other way.

Plus I have the feeling that the lyrics are going to be ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

Which makes me think he mustn't of written the other lyrics. He's too stupid. Or Eliza and Lindsey made him lose two thousand brain cells.

Anonymous said...

I think the next record is going to blow.

I liked Three Cheers because it was influenced by so many great stories and comics (Preacher, Sandman, Watchmen, etc.). TBP was Gerard's attempt to come up with a story on his own and if you ask me, the concept was pretty lame. Instead of stealing the story, he borrowed the musical styles of other bands and for me it got old really fast. Been there, heard that.

I think the next record is going to be him trying to write about his own life, which is pretty fucking boring. I think it's going to suck.

scroll down and you'll see the pix she originally posted on twitter. and she does acknowledge that lynz had a baby 5:29 am

Well, I think Amanda's comment that Gerard is "happily groping his wife" kind of rules out the covering up a leak theory.

And I could have gone my whole life without seeing that picture of Courtney Love.

Anonymous said...

I don't think 5:29 was talking about Amanda mentioning the baby in general, she was pointing out that she didn't mention Lindsey talking about it as most new mothers (and fathers) tend to do.

I don't know what to think of that woman (Amanda Palmer).
I don't like the Oh, I'm so artsy and so creative and stuff attitude.
But then, she said something really nice and really true about Michael Jackson (R.I.P.) and that makes her likeable.

What I'm wondering is how long Gerard thinks he can avoid the fans and twitter and the blogs. He has an excuse for right now, he has a new born baby, but sooner or later he needs to reclaim his spot in the band. I'm guessing we won't hear from him until probably after Summer Sonic. Then it will be kind of rediculous for him to keep ignoring the fans. He can go to Japan to play a show and go to the studio everyday to create a new record, but he can't write a short message to his fans via twitter or write a small blog updating them on band news? That would be lame.

Anonymous said...

Its coming along incredibly (is that even a word?)

Yes.

Anonymous said...

The best song they've ever written?

OMG!!! Stop the presses!!!!! THE BEST SONG EVER WRITTEN BY THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now we no longer have to mourn the loss of Michael Jackson. MCR will be the saviors not only of all our lives, but of music as well.

I imagine people will be lining up to throw money at them. The music industry crisis will be coming to an end as soon as this record gets released.

Anonymous said...

he used the word entity yet didn't know incredibly is a word???

Anonymous said...

Well, incredibly is a word, but it is usually used with another adverb or adjective. Like, "it's coming along incredibly well" or "it's coming along incredibly slowly", so his usage of it was kind of odd.

Maybe he meant to say, "It's coming along--incredibly--considering that Gerard's vocals suck so hard."

Anonymous said...

Please

They're just trying to generate excitement for the stupid thing so it sells. Do you think they believe the shit they write?

Anonymous said...

I think Gerard is deluded enough to believe the crap he says about the band (like that it's the best band in the world, lol), but probably the other guys aren't quite that idiotic.

i found this on the web ,thought id share it with all of you.

-----

I also said that My Chemical Romance piss me off. This is true. I’ve been listening to their music since I was about fourteen and, after Aiden, I always used to say that they were my biggest inspiration. The fact that Gerard was an alcoholic, Mikey was bipolar and they were both still living and making music was so moving that I couldn’t doubt anything they said. I defended them day in and day out when people I knew called them faggots, amongst other things…

And now I’ve realised they were right all along. Gerard fucking Way can talk all he wants about how he cares only about the music and telling kids that they can fuck up and still live, but it turns out he’s nothing more than a fucking hypocrite. Recently, he seems interested only in how famous he is and how much money he can get. He’s certainly living the rockstar life. And what happened to all his inspirational speeches, about telling guys to respect women, telling women they’re all beautiful and about how we can all make mistakes and still become whatever the fuck we want to be? I’ll tell you where they went: down the shitter along with all his fucking morals.

I’ve disliked him for a while, when people started telling me how rude he was when they met him. Then he goes and names his fucking daughter Bandit. Then I’m shown a picture of him groping his wife in public, with a red face and a smile that looks drunk. I know drunk; I’ve got alcoholic friends. I feel sorry for his fucking daughter; she’s gonna grow up being the laughing stock of the world.

I feel betrayed by him as well. The only honest one out of the lot of them is Bob, and I don’t give a shit about what all you fangirls might say about that. I feel like they’re a friend of mine, who I’ve defended because of how other people talk about them, only for them to turn around and go, “We’ve found someone better so we don’t need you anymore.” That hurts. It hurts because I feel like I’ve wasted energy, money and heart on them. I don’t want their next album. I don’t want to see them live again. I don’t want to meet them. I don’t want anything to do with them. In the next few weeks, I will be removing everything I have of them on my walls and sending them to the other side of the world. And I’m fucking delighted.

Good riddance MCR. Good riddance God.

It's odd how that picture has affected people. I have a lot of friends from lj who have expressed shock and dismay over it - even people who still liked the band.

Most of the people I know view it as being patronizing, misogynistic and disrespectful. Even the people I know who don't like Lindsey are expressing horror that Gerard would "treat her like an object" or a piece of meat out in public like that.

This is turning out to be even bigger than Monkeygate.

Anonymous said...

This is turning out to be even bigger than Monkeygate.

I think that's because he is showing his true colors more than he did last year.

Hopefully this will have more of an effect than the Monkeygate.

Oh, and I heard that someone threw an animal heart on stage? Did that actually happen?

Anonymous said...

Somebody did throw an animal heart onstage in South America, I believe. I think it was in a plastic bag?

The band had a pretty bad time of it in South America. They were stalked and hounded pretty bad at airports and some people got angry with Gerard for being rude to fans, although I don't so much blame him because of the way the fans there acted.

5:16 said...

And how did the band react 5:30?

here's what someone wrote about that picture on BN:

Anonymous said...

There will never be any shortage of morons on buzznet.

Anonymous said...

From what I've heard, they were pretty disgusted and not too happy. Who can blame them? But then, most of their songs are about blood, guns, zombies, coming back from the dead, etc. Maybe some fans thought they would be into that sort of thing.

I was talking about the band's reaction to the heart being thrown onstage.

And yeah, some fans (the ones who think that being a couple of married rockstars means hot, rawkstah sex 24-7) are cheering Gerard's tit-grabbing on. But many other fans (the ones who don't post on places like buzznet) are less than thrilled with his behavior.

i have friends who are still fans of mcr and worship everything they do and say, and it sickens me. they either don't realize what they're supporting or think it's alright for them to be arrogant pricks, which is worse. i've tried to express my opinions and tried to make them see what's really there but they won't have any of it.
i wonder why there are so few people who speak out against all of this. maybe they've been beat metaphorically into submission by the raging mcrmy. or they don't feel it's worth their effort. i would have to agree with the second.

But don't forget all the GOOD things they've done...And also don't forget that no one here knows them really...

I don't mean to defend them when they do or say something like that, cause it's just stupid...
I just don't think they've been pretending all the time to be some fucked up kids who made a band that makes such a powerful music that means a lot to people all over the world...I know it sounds like that "mcr saved my life" crap (sorry but it just lost all the meaning) but I believe you know what I mean...
I'm sorry if you feel like I "attacked" you (LOL) but I'm really sick of all those arguments and I believe we discussed all of this already and we all remember that it didn't go well...

They never said they would be perfect, yet its what we want from them and we get upset when there not.

Theres nothing diffrent between them and the rest of us. They can act however they want to.
They (MCR) act like normal guys. Normal guys act like that. So we should really stop attacking them (and each other) for how they act. It's normal. At least it is here in America. I don't know how things are in other countrys and how the guys act there. But thats common here. Hell there pretty damn nice if you ask me.

I understand that some people have been offended by what they have said, done, posted, etc. But its nearly impossiable to NOT offend someone. Some people take jokes littarly. And when your being yourself (wich I think MCR has realy been doing latly. Not worrying what people will think or say, not hiding much.) thats even harder. When your angry you say things that you don't mean. And with this many people watching them and analyzing everything they say and do there not gana look perfect. Were taking little things they say in passing that they wont even remember saying a week from now and saying there 'assholes' because of it.

Thats not fair to do them. Love them and their music, be intristed in what they do, but let them live their lives how they want. Let them live.

Besides it can't be healthy fighting about people you don't know at all.

Laura said...

"None of them got into the buisness (acting, music, etc.) to be a role model."

But didn't Gerard say numerous times he started a band because he wanted to make a difference in peoples' lives? Now, he was probaby just bullshitting but he was the one who put himself on a pedistal.

If they loose anymore young fans i don't think anyone else is going to buy their crappy album. Good luck with that douchebags!

I don't think they young ones care. Nor do the ones who were raised in a barn and never learned spelling or proper grammar (see comments from BN above). Only thing is, those kids are the ones who can't afford the Venganza vest or even to download a video from iTunes for 2 bucks.

The fans they've run off are the ones like us who have money to spend.

Lynn said...

Yes, the little kids should die. How dare them ruin your viewing of a movie.

Lynn said...

I could see him getting mad at noisy kids. I just want to know why he felt the need to twitter that knowing young girls were going to read it. Of course he knows that they worship the ground he walks on and will defend him. Just like that crappy beard. I have heard alot of them say how good it looks on him. Please! It looks like shit!

Anonymous said...

"Yes, the little kids should die. How dare them ruin your viewing of a movie."

Yeah really. Because it was the ONLY screening of the movie for the rest of eternity, and there's no way in hell he could shell out another $10 to see it again.

Either he is trying to get rid of all the young fans, or is trying to poison a whole generation to think like he does.

That last long comment from fireflyrenix55 does have a point. Regardless, they don't seem to realize that by being assholes they are driving fans away, fans that would have bought their album and concert tickets and merch. And like someone said earlier, the ones that are left probably just illegally download their stuff anyway.

I really hope this all comes back to bite them in the ass very soon.

maybe this is his supersecret way of getting back at Gerard for breaking his heart and leaving him during PR. he is so insanely jealous of what Gerard has now that he only wants it destroyed, to mourn the loss of the buttbabies that never were.

LOL!!!! Looking at Frank's twitter he does not need any buttbabies of his own.

I think Frank is one up on old gerard now.

Yes I agree. But I was thinking back to an interview Frank and Gerard did a little before PR, I think. It was them looking back at old video footage of themselves, just the two of them sat together looking at a screen and commenting. Was it a 97X one I don't know? It's the same one where they are playing back the 97X questions posed to GW when he was first asked about the ring! (Eliza time) One of the questions was "if all the members of MCR were hanging off a cliff and you could only save one, who would it be?" Well at the time of the watching back Frank was guessing GW's answers, and for that one he guessed Mikey. But infact GW said he'd jump too. I remember Frank laughing and GW saying something like "you aint got no better friend than me." Or something like that.
Anyway at some point in that interview, Frank refers to a night out or something with a very rascist/sexist comedian, and then, whilst laughing, goes on to comment and re tell said rascist joke. GW actually stops him and says something to the interviewer like "Cut that bit out".
This is all pre PR and I didn't think much about it at the time, but I think that scores GW a point above Frank.

Oh shit do I have to trawl youtube for that interview? Hopefully one of you guys remember it?

Lynn said...

Eliza is back to blogging on her myspace. I never thought i would say this but i'm glad she is. I think she felt like she had to stop because of her past. That and all of Gerard's fangirls. How embarassing was that for her to get dumped and the whole MCR watching. ( I would be embarassed by Falling for Gerard) LOL! I would never let anyone silence me.

1:07 - I remember those interviews!!

Anonymous said...

Right I have had a mini trawl! Alot of those videos have been deleted by Warner and some have no sound. I have found one part of the interview, here, this is the correct interview but I think it was in five parts. And it is right at the beginning of PR I think, or atleast definitely before the GW/FI fight and GW generally acting like an ass!

Maybe someone else knows where it is. I have to go now. Bye Lynn, and anyone else.

Lynn said...

Thank you for trawling!

That was actually in the beginning of PR and G had one of Lyn-Z's scarves tied round his neck to hide the massive hickey.

Yeah they do and say what a dudes say - between their friends. All the rest is just bullshit excuses and justification for what they do. Anyone with a job knows they have to behave with a certain amount of professionalism and toe the line. This is a business for them, you can't even compare them to those idiots MSI who refuse to comply with anyone yet hang off someone else's coat tales. From what I've heard even they don't treat their fans badly. MCR are too wrapped in their image and not concentrating on the most important thing, their music.

Anonymous said...

Gerard strikes me as a father figure as much as Kurt did. That is to say, not much at all.

Laura said...

"From what I've heard even they don't treat their fans badly"

I never really thought about it much, but you're right. From what I've heard, even MSI, which consists of a bunch of assholes, have the decency to greet their fans after every show and sign autographs and take pictures usually late into the night. They hold contests for fans to be in videos and even put fans' pictures up on their myspace. Now I know MCR has a much larger and possibly more annoying fanbase, but that doesn't mean they can't make an effort to show some repect for them or atleast pretend like meeting them and signing autographs isn't some unpleasant chore. I hate to say positive things about MSI, but in this respect, I think they outshine MCR.

intresting find on BN:
Supermassive[*]Pititchu: 06/30/2009 4:45 PM

I wanted to discuss this with all of you. I never understood the reason behind all the hate, and I would like to be able to. if you posted a comment on this article, post it on here so you don't need to write it all out again. oh, and I didn';t write this, so please don't hate on me.

Im aware that what I am about to post is going to be reprimanded greatly, so I want to make it clear that my love for My Chemical Romance is un-wavering and will be, for the foreseeable future, but I feel that there is a growing resentment between The band and the Fans. As My chem has grown up in the past years it seems as though their reception and acknowledgement of their fans is, un-impressed. Like they recognize that they have achieved success therefore they are no longer obligated to send a message or be dedicated to the fans. But what is confusing about that alteration in the bands over-all persona is that the reason legions of fans come to their defenses, buy their album, promote them shamelessly etc is BECAUSE they were a band with a message. Success, fame, infamy wasn’t their goal or priority, or at least, that’s what they sold to us. They gave a voice for the kids who didn’t have anywhere to turn to or have anyone who quite understood. They were the voice for the people who felt different and wanted to remain different. Now, it seems as though they are under the impression that they are un-stoppable. Perhaps to an extent that’s the truth, but within that success it seems as though they have lost their true sense of self, maybe as individuals or maybe as a band entirely. I just wish they would remember that it was us, their loving supporting fans, who brought recognition and stability into their lives, and to no longer acknowledge the people who your bands entire basis once stood for, well, that doesn’t seem success worthy. I will love My Chemical Romance for what they represented and did for me. They told me it was alright to want to stand against the norm and they told me it was alright to love myself within doing so, but I can’t respect the men who stand before us in the year 2009 because they no longer respect us. Obviously, I am not and have never been deluded into thinking that they could remain the same (via 2004/2005) forever, but they have changed radically and, in my opinion, not in a positive way. There is a vast difference between maturing and within that maturing process recognizing that maintaining a certin attitude or image isn’t necessary and completely disregarding what the premise of your band stood for. This is simply my opinion and my intent is not to start any arguments or get anyone riled up. I just thought this concern should be brought to the surface and voiced.

Lynn said...

I read that today. I do feel like there is a growing resentment with the band. Even bigworm is being an ass to some of the fans. Granted they are bugging him about "how is Bob" and "can you get hold of Bob?" I'm sure it can be annoying. However a simple "i haven't heard from him" would be better than being rude and saying i don't know and i dont care. Read how rude he is being to the fans. What happened? Did they all take asshole pills or something?

happyXamp said...

i've seen bodyguards be assholes... I saw a bodygaurd for Green Day get loud with a couple of fans and Tre Cool told him to shut up and went over to talk to the kids...
I also believe that its one thing to do that on tour.... and even depending on the tour.. i wouldn't accept that at Warped Tour unless it was packed.

Then its another to do that off tour... a simple i don't know would have been decent

Anonymous said...

well to be fair he seems to be getting the same questions all the time. it's in a way like what lynz was complaining about last year, mcr fans coming to msi shows to see gerard. i do agree that the fans should butt out of bob's and worm's business no matter how concerned they may be. i don't want to be defending his asshole behavior but i can see why he's doing it.

happyXamp said...

Lynz should have known what she was getting herself into... she was marrying a guy in a band of course people are going to go to HER shows just in case he might be there.... then in a letter to the fans he announces that he is going to be there....

Gerard's speaking voice is horrible. I went for months not listening to it because I just wasn't interested in anything he has to say anymore and then decided to listen to that interview that was just posted and OH MY GOD. I had forgotten that he sounded like that. So nasal and not like a guy at all. If I had to listen to that every day I think I'd go nuts. Poor Lindsey.

I don't know why anyone would go onto BN and argue with that crowd. You can't argue with people whose IQ's are roughly the same as their shoe size. They don't understand logic and they come back with such stupid points they can't even be debated.

I understand what you're trying to do, happyXamp, but BN isn't the place to do it.

Besides, the MCR forums are practically dead. Why bother?

Anonymous said...

Did you guys watch that clip where Adam Lazzara was singing I'm Not Okay with the band in Gerard's place? I bet Gerard was upset watching that because Adam sounds so much better than he does.

Too band MCR doesn't get another singer.

Did you notice in that kickball video how Gerard was criticizing his hair? That was when he had the red teardrop thing in the back of his head. Wasn't that the hairdo that Eliza gave him? He also says something about Frank's hair when the band was playing with Adam. I'm pretty sure Eliza gave Frank that hairstyle as well.

He always has to rub salt in the wound, doesn't he. The prick.

Adam sang that song so much better! He even had to look at the lyrics as he was singing. He has a much better voice than G.W.

Wrong. He was actually saying how awesome his hair was and Frank did his hair himself.

I've been hearing rumors that Frank hates LA and that's why he's acting the way he is.

Also that the band is having issues with the record label, that they're in debt to them for TBP still and that they're tired of letting themselves be marketed as the "Goth Boy Band" and that's why they've been acting out so much.

After reading the article that APalmer posted on her twitter about how evil record companies are and knowing how MSI has always had such a distaste for major labels, I'm thinking that this explains a lot.

As for how MCR could be in debt to Warner, it happens all the time with artists - 30STM, for example. It's complicated and I don't really have time to explain it right now, but maybe somebody else can? If not, I'll be around later.

I seriously doubt that MSI has a "distaste" for major labels as much as major labels have a "distaste" for them.

And by "distaste" I mean, they realize that there is no talent, and no relevance in the band. Because major labels have actually signed some bands with pretty irreverent and controversial subject matter.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 8:10. I don't know what video you were watching, but Gerard was loving his 'locks' and while Eliza was responsible for Gerard's 'locks' in that video, Frank was definitely responsible for his hairstyle.

Anonymous said...

I seriously doubt that MSI has a "distaste" for major labels as much as major labels have a "distaste" for them.

I think that distaste is kind of a two-way street. MSI doesn't want to be on a major label because the label would try to get them to tone down their bullshit and the label doesn't want MSI because they don't appeal to a wide scale audience.

Having said that, I think that the dislike that Gerard's new artsy pals (MSI and Amanda Palmer included) have for major labels has probably given him an attitude towards Warner. Maybe he's pissed that he hasn't become rich from his music or that he signed a deal that, according to him, wasn't about money but about retaining creative control.

MCR could be doing a Prince and going against everything they ever stood for as an act of defiance against Warner in an attempt to get out of their contract. Warner could be retaliating by using questionable marketing schemes (the sock puppets and lame LE edition merch) to make money off them.

Just a theory.

Anonymous said...

I don't think he's "rebelling," i think he's just showing his true colors. But, that's old news. :)

Anonymous said...

I think MCR is showing their true colors too. But before, they were letting the record label tell them how to behave -- or rather, who to pretend to be.

Anonymous said...

They should of kept it that way...

Anonymous said...

I agree with 3:33, it seems to me they are deliberately acting out to piss off Warner, just like KOL did with their record company when they grew their hair and beards in defiance.

happyXamp said...

It's an intresting theory.. they could also be acting out because they want something diffrent in their contract?

blparsons was there earlier. I read his/her twitter and he kept saying things to Pete Wentz about stealing ideas from Gerard and peddling merchandise. Then he started in on Mikey.

I'm thinking twitter deleted him because Mikey complained. He did say something on his twitter to somebody else about throwing somebody to the wolves.

Anonymous said...

they could also be acting out because they want something diffrent in their contract?

I'm thinking they want out of their contract altogether. They probably are big-headed enough to think they can form their own label. They probably also think they can turn out a shitty record and Warner will release them and the fans will stick around.

Prince did everything he could to get back at his record company, including changing his name to an unpronouncable symbol. But that was Prince. Gerard Way is no Prince.

Anonymous said...

Apparently Mikey was talking about this blparsons person to Jayreason and Jayreason said that blparsons just used twitter to diss bands, so Mikey "threw him to the wolves."

I guess that means Mikey used his super twitter powers and got the guy banned.
