So since the last time I posted, apparently LynZ and Kitty did an interview where they said that people who don't like them are "fat" and "sit around eating crisps all day". This goes really well with her saying that she is "inspirational". Very mature of them. But that is to be expected from MSI members who think that slur words are funny.
Also MCR released a video for Desolation Row and LynZ is in it. Not surprisingly.
Wow good thing she doesn't want to be associated with MCR! Of course the fact that they are both lying when they say that is old news.
Ex fans are calling them My Mindless Chemical Self Indulgent Romance. Or other variations of that. That name seems very appropriate.
Again I just want to say..... I never censor this blog. I don't care what you all say. I just want you to have a place to day it. I don't agree that LynZ or Gerard should be picked on for their looks when it is their actions that are disgusting. I don't think that "fat" should be an insult (like LynZ seems to think)..... but you say what you want.
Also, to address one more thing. This has always been my blog. Verita Venom. That's my name up there. While I don't LIKE the arguing that sometimes goes on here I also will not try to stop it. Like I said, it is not my time they are wasting, it is theirs. Telling people to leave this blog is not appropriate. The only line I draw here, is slur words. All opinions are welcome. Firstly, they were no vast standards, but standards everyone should strive for. I cannot see how he and the rest of the band, cannot be made accountable for their actions. Making money under false representation is almost unconscionable.
The standards that were set were set by GW and MCR. No one would have had a problem with him if he wasn't the one who came out and said what his standards were.

I will try to answer your question as honestly as I can. This is only my answer. I can't speak for others. It may be tl;dr, but the reasons I come here are complicated and can't be summed up in a couple of lines.
First of all, my disappointment in Gerard has lasted even longer that eighteen months. For me, it's been a little over two years, when I first started to notice changes in his behavior. This was probably around February/March of 2007.
I am an early fan. I've listened to them since Bullets, but it wasn't until Revenge came out that I really got into MCR. I was attracted not only to the music, but to the whole package. I was very drawn to Gerard's story of how he kicked his substance abuse problems, especially since my father was an alcoholic/drug user and my family was going through a bit of a crisis at the time. My love for Revenge and Gerard's tale of triumph over adversity helped me get through that rough patch in my life.
I've seen the band live numerous times and I've met them all more than once. Although Frank and Mikey were always the nicest, Gerard was also very nice at one time. All of that seemed to change after The Black Parade. The last time I met the band in early 2007, Gerard acted as though he didn't want to be bothered. I've heard the same story from countless other friends in the fandom since then. For some reason, in early 2007, everything about Gerard's demeanor towards his fans seemed to have changed.
At first I was worried about him. As time went on and his behavior became more and more bizarre (especially during PR), I beame even more worried. I kept watching and waiting for some kind of news about him landing in the rehab or something even worse. But no, he just seemed to carry on with his strange, off-the-wall behavior and the rest of the fanbase just seemed to accept it.
When I first started coming here, it was because I was worried and it was good to find other people who shared my concern. However, over time, I came to believe that the MCR I had believed in was just a creation that was intended to pull people like me in. Either Gerard or Warner realized that there were a lot of vulnerable kids out there who were looking for somebody to believe in - not as a "god" or a "role model", but just someone who was a decent human being. Someone who had faced the same kinds of struggles that we had faced/were facing and had triumphed over them. As I began to realize that I (and so many others) had been so ruthlessly duped, I became very, very angry.
I don't listen to MCR anymore, and I don't think I'm obsessed with them at all, even though I still feel anger towards the band and Gerard in particular for letting me down. There have been a lot of people who have let me down in my life. They do it every day. I think this blog has become the place where I come to channel a lot of that anger. So, when it comes right down to it, a lot of the reason I'm here isn't even about Gerard or the band. There is a lot of transference going on here, not only by myself, but probably some of the other people who vent here. Is it healthy? I'm not really sure. But I do know that I usually feel better after I've been here.
So, there you have it. I can't speak for anyone else, but this is why I come here.

Personally I don't find her pretty in anyway. What she does to earn money makes her ugly to me both on the inside and the outside.
I think people who keep going on about her being pretty are just trying to find one mice thing about her. Think of it as someone saying a person who is ugly has a good personality.
In my experience most people who are consider the prettiest are some of the ugliest people inside.

I don't find Lindsey to be the least bit "beautiful", and it has nothing to do with her being with Gerard. I don't think she's ugly, just kind of meh. Plus, I hate the look: dyed black hair, white makeup, red lipstick, etc. I especially hate the way she looks onstage with the knee socks and school girl outfit.
Even when she dresses normally, she still does the white makeup, red drawn-on lips thing. Like I said, not ugly, just meh.

Jared (the bass player) is cute too, but he looks too much like jailbait to me, but I digress. Both Caleb and Nathan have girlfriends who are stunningly beautiful. Am I jealous? No. I outgrew that shit eons ago.

A lot of the guys at my PR did take their shirts off, even though they didn't know anything about MCR. They were just drunk and wanted to "show the ladies what you got", or whatever lame thing Gerard said onstage.

Yeah, there were a lot of kids in the 12-14 age range who were there to see MCR. Some of them were boys, but I didn't see any of the little guys taking their shirts off. But it was a big venue and we were down front so I probably didn't see a lot of things that went on in the audience.

i don't know but i think that the odd picture of gerard looks pretty recent.
the only reason why i thought it was recent was because when i saw MCR at madison square garden he had a wristband that was similar to the one that he had in that picture. but i went to find some pictures of that show and it's clear that he's wearing a black bandana around his wrist, but since it's a bandana it has white stuff on it, but since the odd picture is so blurry, you can't really tell it's a bandana. i do remember him wearing sweatbands around his wrists back in the day...

Gerard brought on the fan girls and therefore it is Gerard who 'killed' the band.
I think after he had realized that the band could indeed be a chance for him to change his then crappy, trivial life for the better and bring some meaning to it, instead of lying drunk in bed the whole day, looking at the ceiling and only dreaming about living life to the fullest and not actually living it, he got cocky and wanted to tell everyone how they should change their lives.
People who made it through hard times often tend to start lecturing their environment about what they should do to get out of a funk and how easy it can be to live the kind of life you always wanted to live.
I think that's what happened with Gerard as well.
The band became more and more successful and that gave him the reassurement that he was on the right track for once in his life.
That's when he stopped talking about the band being all about the party and started preaching about wanting to make a difference and saving people's lives.
I think his depression and anxiety were also triggered by his fear of not really living but merely existing.
At first, Gerard seemed to be really thankful for the opportunity he had and it was visible through his humble and thoughtful ways. But after some time, you stop being thankful and start taking things for granted. I would say that almost every person tends to react that way and so did Gerard.
He changed from being modest and nice to some arrogant prick.
When Gerard started talking about saving lives and being anti-*insert whatever kind of discrimination here*, he seemed to mean it and I think especially his rants about being pro-feminism (or at least what the man considers to be feminist)is what brought the band so many female fans.
I for one was very surprised that the singer of a rock band I started to become interested in was so open about being supportive of gay and women's rights.
You simply enjoy listening to someone's music even more when you (seem to) know that the people making that music are no filthy scumbags but have moral beliefs, which aren't really popular throughout their genre, but still aren't afraid to speak up about it.
Unfortunately for them it is also not really popular in the rock music genre to have that many female fans.
If your following predominantly consists of female fans, which are mainly in their teens, you will not be taken seriously in that business.
Rock music is still seen as music made by men for men. It's okay to have some hot chicks in the crowd here and there, but if you mostly attract girls, women and gay guys, you just aren't rock 'n' roll.
To attain a young female fanbase might have helped them to sell many albums and concert tickets but it doesn't help them obtain a rock band status and their rock credibility.
That's what killed MCR.

I don't remember what interview it was but I remember GW saying that the sense that MCR is associated with so much now wouldn't even touch them when they were starting.

What's to verify? I saw the twin towers fall myself, only it was on tv. It's not hard to have garnered the details from the media coverage and from other people who had seen it. It's a bit harder to look somebody in the eye and talk about something you haven't seen, though. You know, like when Gerard stumbled badly in that interview.
