I've seen The Used half a dozen times, and I have to say that Bert's voice is genuine and consistent. He can let out an ear-piercing scream and then sing the next note without skipping a beat. There are two live performances of On My Own out there that illustrate that perfectly.

I just think it's not fair. To comic artists who're working their asses off to get recognized for their work and to new underground bands who don't have a famous band member on board. Who could have been on that specific side of the latest Kerrang issue if it wasn't 'reserved' for Frank and his band?
Who could have had the chance to become successful with their comic if DH wouldn't put their money and energy in Gerard's crap?

It annoys me when they target the MCR fanbase to promote their new projects. Like that e-mail from Frank about LM which was sent to all the MCR website subscribers. And yet in it he said they probably won't like LM - then why send out an e-mail promoting them to the MCR fanbase. As for TUA, Gerard would never have been offered a movie deal if he wasn't Gerard from MCR, not to mention all that merch. How can they make a movie for something that has on average 30,000 readers? They need millions of people to go and see it. I am really not impressed with the new series, that might explain the drop in sales. The plot is all over the place and you have random events happening with no clear reason why. Its two issues in now and no plot arc has been established - its a 6 issue comic series and he's wasted 2 issues of it.
While I did enjoy the first series of TUA, I have to agree with you on the second one. I mean, quirky characters and a great artist (Ba) can only take a comic so far when the story isn't there.
For the most part, I think TUA is style over substance, which will get old pretty damn quick. Gerard better have a bit more up his sleeve than he's showing me right now or I don't think TUA is going to last.
I remember that I once wrote the webmaster (or whoever the person was you could contact) because I was slightly pissed off back then that there was no mention of their German tour dates and that it looked to me as if they didn't bother to put them up because they didn't give a flying fuck about coming to Germany and their German fans, respectively.

Gerard seems to live in a dream world. Of course, the fact that he was able to make some of those dreams come true only made things worse. I think he's gotten to a point where he thinks if he says it, he can make it so. That's why he goes around making statements about directing a video for Mama or having TUA made into a movie within the next two years.
While Universal may have optioned the comic and they have had some meetings, it's a funny thing to me that nobody else is talking about this upcoming film. With only 30,000 readers for TUA and a waning fanbase for MCR, I doubt that Universal is going to sink several million dollars into a project unless they are sure it has an audience.
If Watchmen does well they might. Watchmen is well known but only because it has been around for years. That and people go on about how great it is.
Two years I don't think so most movies based on books and that stuff take years. Also I don't think there is enough of a story there. The females in the book don't do anything. They are just "eye candy" for the most part.

It looks like most of MCR's videos are gone from youtube, Warner won an injunction against them. There's still a couple up, but I doubt they will be there for long. Apparently they're even taking down home made fan videos that use the music. There's no way real way to watch MCR now, they're rarely shown on MTV - not that I would want to anymore, but it won't be good for their fanbase, what they have left of it.

I just watched the 'Frerard' fight as it is called on youtube (the video where gerard attacks frank on stage at projeckt revolution). I don't know what to say really... I can't make up my mind if it has all been blown out of proportion or if it really was malicious?

I think the most telling part of that video is when Gerard stomps over and kicks Frank's setup over and then throws the bottle of water at him. There was definitely a lot of anger there.
I can see your point, the video isn't very clear and at first it does look like they're just messing around because frank is always doing stupid stuff like diving on bob, but I don't get why he would just suddenly start attacking frank in the middle of a song. I don't know, I haven't seen the whole show so maybe i've missed something, lol

I think you hit the nail on the head. Why let fans see videos for free when you can charge them or it.
GW looked pissed even before the fight. so I think he was out for blood

Well whatever it was all about between Gerard and Frank, that was when I sat up and thought, shit something just isn't right here? That was the start for me and I think quite a few others. It's gone down hill from then on really.
I don't think I'm over reacting, I don't think I'm reading anything into it. I have eyes, I'm not blinkered. I have a brain. Pretty straight forward really. Bandmates fall out, it's been going on forever. The thing is I never expected it with My Chem, they seemed like brothers.
Frank appears to have been man enough to put it all behind him. I guess the band and performing are what he loves so much. And it's their livelihood also. At the end of the day it is their jobs.
Oh and when I say, put it all behind him, I don't mean the fight. The fight is a tiny part of it. More the reason the fight occurred in the first place and the subsequent bad vibes.
I don't think it is behind them at all. I think it will show up again.
I wasn't trying to say people were being stupid nor am i being blinkered I just tried to see both sides of the argument. I read a letter in Kerrang just after GW and Lyn-z got married from a fan saying how fans were disappointed in the hypocrisy of touring with MSI as their support act when their lyrics, however meant, satirical or otherwise, were a complete opposite of what MCR had always said about their views on women etc. She also mentioned the fighting and vomit throwing. I just tend not to take things I've read on the internet as gospel when they COULD be rumours (I'm not saying they are they just might be, by that I mean rumours about GW drinking again, which he has apparently strongly denied, saying it will lose him fans).However I do think the vomit throwing thing is awful and I wouldn't want to go see a band who was going to puke all over me. I just try to stay open minded.

Your_Sweet_Insanity it is good that you can keep an open mind. I can't anymore about this. Things have changed way to much and I can 't help but think there must have been some thing behind it. Either drinking, drugs or mental illness
Actually though, having said all that, there have been stories from fans who said GW was a total twat to them when they met him recently. One of the things people always say is never meet your favourite band because it's always a let down but I never believed that anyone would say that about meeting GW. He always seems polite and grateful to meet fans. Sorry if I sound like I'm contradicting myself, i'm sort of weighing it up in my head, haha. Frank seems to be the one who has to appologise for GWs behaviour. To be honest, GW sounds like a real arsehole at the moment.

Back when I was over at Bn there were stories going around (this was while he was with Eliza) that GW was being an ass to fans. Mainly the female ones. There was a post about a meet and greet where he wouldn't smile or anything but he did treat the males fans a little better than the female ones.
Maybe he doesn't to be seen as some sort of pin up anymore so maybe he thinks that being mean to fangirls will turn them off him.

This is a very bad copy of what was being filmed by professionals for a live webcast stream on the internet. The camera person was obviously attempting to divert attention away from the fight.
It looks like an official recording judging by the quality of it. Thus, they deliberatly cut away from the fighting as soon as it happened and focused on Ray. But I think thats why all the ones who were there say it was a lot worse then it looked - they saw the whole thing.

I think Gerard feels actually quite ambivalent towards the fan girls who adore him and see him as the perfect specimen of manhood.
I remember an old article in which he said that he doesn't want to be seen as the 'cutesy frontman' but even back then I didn't believe him because his whole biography screams Love me! Adore me! Notice me!.
I think he needs the attention of his female fans if he feels like shit and lacks self-esteem because of whatever reason and he couldn't care less and patronizes them if he gets that self-esteem from somebody else i. e. Eliza, Lindsey.

I think they made it all wrong from the beginning. Neither of them and especially Gerard should have revealed so much about their private life.
The more you tell the more projection surface is provided for the teen girls to build their fantasy world around you and to make them feel that they actually know you.
It's their own fault! There are so many bands out there who have hot band members but don't have that teenage fan girl following as MCR does. And I think it's mostly because they keep their traps shut about their private life.
I used to think it was his way of getting rid of the fan girls but with all of the LE they keep putting out, they need those fan girls. I think he was trying to get rid of the fans that think about what is going on. Who needs them when you have people that will shell out their money no questions asked.
Also, GW used to say in interviews something about changing the way the band was so that only the "real fans" would stay

I think Gerard would love to be an ass to ALL his fans, including the real ones, fangirls, and the occasional male ones, but he feels the need to be accepted by "REAL" rock fans, aka males in his mind, so he puts up with being a little bit nicer to them, because if he treated them like shit, they'd just walk out, as opposed to the fangirls who'll stick around as long as you stay pretty.
He ain't going to stay "pretty" for long. Not that in my mind he ever was.
