A few links

I followed a few links from a link someone posted here, to ONTD. From there, there was a discussion about MCR's racism and sexism with posts to a Tumblr that had the same views about them.

It is nice to see that people are finally catching up to everyone here.

So here are the links for you.

MCR link on ONTD discussing Frank and Gerard's disgusting behavior.

That led to a Tumblr post detailing Gerard's "I'd smash your face" threat. (I personally do not have a Tumblr so I don't know how to repost that. But anyone with a Tumblr, please repost.)

Frank's racism even made it onto Yahoo questions. Here.

So there you go, we are not the only ones out there willing to call bands out on their disgusting behavior.

Hope everyone has a nice spring time!

Thing is, that might be a halfway decent anthem if Gerard had the vocal chops to carry it off. He doesn't.

The whole thing still smacks of self-promotion to me. It's a bit too exploitative, especially with all the pictures of the disaster in the beginning. :(

You know, I really want to believe that MCR did this thing for Japan out of the goodness of their hearts and that they didn't have any selfish motives. Because it's such a good cause, I'll give them the benefit of doubt.

Anonymous said...

MCR are doing a good thing with singitforjapan song and site. Ray did a great job with the arrangement.

Anonymous said...

Ray didn't exactly do the orchestral arrangement. Suzie Katayama of the LA Philharmonic did.

Anonymous said...

Too bad Gerard's vocals don't measure up to the strings.

Anonymous said...

So I'm confused. The official press release from Warner says Ray arranged and produced the song, but in the same release, it says that Ms. Katayama did the string arrangement. So what did Ray arrange?

Lynn said...

I think he arranged how the video was put together, like the videos that the fans sent in. I do think he should have arranged for more auto-tune for the singer :)

Hocking said...

^I loved that Lynn

Anonymous said...

Lol! He should have arranged for some other singer to come in and do the vocals.

Anonymous said...

Produced and arranged by MCR's guitarist Ray Toro, "#SINGItForJapan" features the talents of many different musicians who donated their time, including LA Philharmonic conductor Suzie Katayama, who has worked with Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Elton John, and created the track's orchestral arrangement. "#SINGItForJapan" (named after the Twitter hash tag fans used to express their messages of support), was recorded at Ocean Way Recording in Los Angeles, engineered and mixed by Allen Sides, and mastered by Bernie Grundman.

So what exactly did Ray do again? Maybe he decided on when the drums came in. :/

Anonymous said...

So what exactly did Ray do again?

He told people when they could go to the bathroom, and what they could and couldn't do there.

Lynn said...

LOL! I guess Gerard let Ray take over one of his duties. I guess he figured sense the band has been together for awhile, he could trust one of them to do something on their own:)

Anonymous said...

Siobhan, your tumbler is just...omg!

Anonymous said...

...in a good way!

I also think your artwork is more original than Lindsey Ways.

Anonymous said...

I think Gerard was going for an MJ-like Earth Song theme with "Sing". He fails at it because his singing voice is weak.

Anonymous said...

Just curious to see how much this does end up raising for the red cross.

Anonymous said...

I think they were trying to do a Bob Geldof with the clip.

Part of me really hopes it is a sincere gesture on their part and not some way to use an opportunity to regain face after the recent debacle.

All you anons stop your bitching for the love of God! What MCR did is a great thing. They got together with a bunch of people who gave up their time to make a song to help raise money for relief efforts in Japan. This single will raise money to help that country. What did you do to help Japan? Did you even donate a cent to the red cross. I don't think half of you did, in fact half of you probably don't even care about the events over there. My Chemical Romance are not perfect by any means but you shouldn't knock them for something like helping others. It just makes you look like a bunch of assholes. Instead of typing negative messages on here put your fingers to good use and go and donate some money to a country that needs it.

I don't know who you are and I don't care, but I did donate money to the Japanese Red Cross, immediately after the first earthquake, and I'd wager to say that most of us did. Plus, I did so without having to get something in exchange for it. That's just how I roll.

I think it's very sad that we ex-fans of MCR are doubting their sincerity in wanting to help Japan with this record, but MCR has no one to blame but themselves. If they hadn't proven over and over that they are liars who adjust their image to suit whatever they're trying to sell at the time, we wouldn't have these doubts.

I hope their efforts do raise money for Japan, but like I said, I've already donated money and will continue to do so, and I don't need to receive a $20.00 t-shirt or a $1.29 song in order to do it.

I too donated without getting anything back. I've been to Japan it was amazing I have friends out there right now, I did it for them and there's no way I'd critise anyone who was trying to help raise money for the cause, sincere or not.

I just watched the Sing it for Japan video. I don't really know what to make of it tbh. I guess it's cool they've done something for Japan, but I have to say, "Sing" is really a forgettable song. Gerard's vocals are disappointing. I just don't hear any emotion in his voice. I think they were trying to create something epic but they sorta failed. At least some good comes out of it though.

You really don't understand my situation so I don't really think you have the right to question me on it. Suffice it to say that I have a young daughter who was very disappointed in MCR and they have made me angry. All of us here have our own reasons for disliking MCR and until we have gotten whatever anger we feel for them out of our system, I don't see the harm in coming here to criticize them.

We are not bothering you with said criticism. It's not like I'm coming to your tumblr or your fansites and saying anything about MCR, so what's it to you?

I agree.

At least with the cover that MCR/The Used did of Under Pressure, both Bert and Gerard really seemed to give it all they had. Gerard just doesn't have it in him to sing with any real feeling anymore, imo.

I think the arrangement with the strings is gorgeous, but once the vocals kick in, it's one big yawn. But hey, if it helps the people in Japan, that's great.

Siobhan, your tumblr is really well done and well researched. Some of the links I can't access, do I need to be signed in to a blogger account to do that?

Good on you.

I haven't been able to figure out tumblr myself, probably because I haven't really tried after a disastrous experience with lj.

I came out with criticism of Gerard on lj comms back during the Eliza business of "are they, aren't they" and got threatening comments and emails for months until I finally wound up deleting my journal. This is one of the reasons I post anon here.

But your tumblr has made me think about maybe getting back into posting with an identity, Siobhan. Maybe all of us need to make tumblrs and speak out against not only MCR, but all of the anti-feminist crap that we, as women, have to deal with on a daily basis.

Anonymous said...

Just curious, what sorts of things did you say about Gerard back then 2:50? Not many people had beefs with Gerard until after Pro Rev.

Anonymous said...

2:56,

My criticism of Gerard wasn't even that harsh. It was during the time when Eliza was making myspace entries that made it pretty clear that she and Gerard were a couple, and the fandom was going batshit. They were calling her a liar, because Gerard had said in an interview that he was single. I only pointed out that there was a pretty good chance that Gerard had lied about not being with her because it was too soon after the breakup with "Kat", and he didn't want people to think he had been cheating.

What followed was a total shitstorm. Emails and comments from anons saying things like, "GERARD WOULD NEVER LIE! I HOPE YOU DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH, YOU WHORE!"

It was ridiculous. Thing is, I didn't really even care all that much about who Gerard was dating. I just thought people were being unfair to Eliza at the time. Now I know she was a lunatic, but then he's not any better. And it turns out, everything I said was true!

Even then, Bert totally carried that song...well, live that is, when it couldn't be produced to death to make Gerard's parts sound better. He never had great vocal talent. I don't know exactly what it is that MCR had to have been so endearing back then but it's all gone now.

Also, thank you very much for complementing my English. Yes, it's my second language. I hope there aren't too many grammar mistakes or punctuation errors. I use to get overboard with the commas because we use them all the time in German. Almost after every word, hahaha.

Anon, the links should all work for you. You don't have to be logged in to something. Sometimes, the links are used to bring you to another part of the entry as a reference. However, there is one link to the NaNaNa video which doesn't work. I made a spoof of the trailer, but Youtube deleted it because of copyright infringement. Does anyone know where else I could upload it?

I appreciate what MCR are doing as far as raising money for Japan. However, I would have taken them a lot more seriously and believed that there was nothing in it for them, if Gerard hadn't been in almost the entire video. All the pictures, videos and whatnot that they received from fans could have been used in the entire thing as opposed to just the last minute.

Anonymous said...

I agree, 11:42. The video seemed to be about him more than anything else. Maybe he thought if the fangirls could see him, they wouldn't notice how weak his vocals are.

Anonymous said...

The fangirls don't care how they sound, or how crap Gerard's vocals really are. They have an excuse for everything he does. When he was clearly drunk at the KROQ X-Mas show they blamed the techs and the radio station hosting it. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

You are absolutely wrong. Tell me how different this would then be to marketing a message representing respect for females which now appears to have been solely for monetary gain? None. If you are going to raise money, don't do it to enhance your own public profile, which smacks of opportunism.

It doesn't, which is why we don't just "move on".

Most of us feel that MCR duped us into buying their records and merch, so who can blame us for questioning their intentions?

This band has proven that they aren't above exploiting young girls to achieve success and fame, so it's not much of a leap to believe they would exploit the tragedy in Japan.

From what I've read, Nicolas Cage was arrested for public drunkenness and making a scene. He and his wife were arguing, but he did not hit her.

I can see that type of thing happening with Gerard because he's an alcoholic who thinks he can drink. It's just a matter of time before he has some sort of public intoxication incident come up in the press.

If the truth were known, alcohol or some other drug probably contributed to the #smashedface incident.

Siobhan I have to agree the whole na na na concept is stupid, and they look more like a bunch of clowns.

Anonymous said...

I think the Killjoys concept is stupid. Gerard is still channeling BJA with his "what is the most punk thing we could do right now?" schtick. In Billie Joe's case, it was to make a record like Good Riddance; for Gerard it was to (oh noes!) wear color (!) and write songs with synth beats. Personally, I think he and Lindsey were taking Grant Morrison's advice and going on a psychedelic drug binge when they holed up in that cabin and started writing the lyrics which precipitated Danger Days.

Anonymous said...

They'll return to the emo look next album.

Anonymous said...

That will be the left/rightCR album. The cover will probably showcase one of his wife's paper cutouts, l mean 'art'.

Anonymous said...

Honestly? I think Lindsey is more talented than her husband. Her art is actually very detailed and quite interesting, and she is getting positive buzz from the art community. Her piece for the South Park exhibit went over very well.

I think she will tire of her husband's fangirls coming to her shows as she becomes more established in the art world, and soon thereafter, she'll tire of her husband.

I predict that in two years, she will have left him.

Anonymous said...

'The Art Community' = people Gerard has paid off to rave about her?

She's a racist nobody. She shows her lazy work in group shows because when she does do a solo show, no one apart from Jeffree Star rejects and her husband's hangers-on turn up. I'm betting Gerard bought the two pieces of hers that did sell under an alias and stashed them in a rented garage down the street. The woman's a joke.

Anonymous said...

You may not like Lindsey or Gerard, but when you overstep your knowledge you make yourself look and this blog look stupid. Lindsey hangs in certain circles, and has for a very long time. With people like Jessicka and Ron English, she is very highly regarded for her artistic talent. She would not have gotten into the art school she attended had she not had talent.

She may be in a band that spews offensive language and she may be a shitty excuse for a bass player, but the woman is a talented artist. Just because you don't like her work, it doesn't mean that others don't.

Anonymous said...

Ron English is known for not following rules. That's probably why he and Lindsey get along so well.

I can respect that philosphy to a degree, but when it comes to MSI's lyrics, I think that's going too far. There has to be a line you don't cross.

Anonymous said...

If she's so good, why didn't she graduate? Oh right, because she's a drug addict waster who'd be nobody without Gerard's money and him running his mouth off about her 'career' while he's supposed to be promoting his band's music. Those are the facts. Without Gerard's money she'd still be in her racist 'art project' band spewing hate speech and performing songs about raping toddlers. Such a talented woman, isn't she?

Anonymous said...

I agree with both 10:39 and 11:14 to a degree. I personally wouldn't buy LynZ's art, but I do think she has a talent for doing what she does, but, I also believe she wouldn't get the recognition she gets now if Gerard wasn't involved in her life. I think she'd still be in her band. The fact is, now that she's financially secure she can focus on her art, which was probably her dream. Before she had to tour with MSI and pay bills, etc.

Anonymous said...

Anyone who thinks it's funny or cool to perform songs about kids being raped deserves to be struck from the face of the earth, imo.

Anonymous said...

Lindsey has said in interviews that she was too busy being rebellious to finish art school. That means she was immature and unfocused, but that doesn't mean she's not talented.

I think she's an opportunist. She saw the opportunity to join a band and go out on tour and party and she took it. She probably viewed being in MSI as a lark, and I don't think she ever took it very seriously. I think when she met Gerard she was older and maybe tired of either touring or working as a window designer to put a roof over her head. She probably jumped at the chance to have a husband who would support her in an art career.

I think she's a hypocrite for claiming to be a feminist. I think she's a moron for being in MSI. But I can't deny that the woman does have talent. Does that mean I like her? No.

I wouldn't buy her art because I think she's a shitty person. I don't buy MCR's music because I think they're shitty people. That doesn't mean that I didn't think Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge wasn't a good album.

Lindsey is a crap bass player and probably a crap human being, but that doesn't change the fact that she has talent.

Anonymous said...

*was

Anonymous said...

She has no talent. Her work is repetitive and unoriginal. Maybe she could design a line of greetings cards, but fine art with a statement behind it? Nah. This is just a hobby. And she seems to think MSI are 'innovative and groundbreaking', not just a lark.

Anonymous said...

If she makes yet another diorama for her next art show, then I would begin to find her work boring and unoriginal.

Anonymous said...

Art is subjective. One person's dull, boring and unoriginal is another person's treasure. I don't like her art, but I can see how some might. I'm not going to say that just because I don't like it, she has no talent.

Anonymous said...

And she seems to think MSI are 'innovative and groundbreaking', not just a lark.

She and the hubby say lots of things. That doesn't mean they actually believe them.

Anonymous said...

So it seems that JGL is playing a cop in the new Batman film? Oh well, I was looking forward to gangster suits. :(

Anonymous said...

She may have some talent though imo it's not extraordinary. There are many artists with far more talent and originality who struggle to be represented and exhibit. As for hanging round these artisans or years why didn't RE give her the opportunity to show her art earlier pre Gerard? Surely being in MSI wouldn't have stopped her if she was presented with this opportunity? And as for knowing Jessika, my understanding was the Steve Montano has just recently met her so I'm assuming she must have only seen her sporadically prior to her marriage to the great Gerard.

Anonymous said...

Ron English is known for not following rules. That's probably why he and Lindsey get along so well.

It's not about "getting along". I think she is strongly influenced by his style and interpretations.

Anonymous said...

And she seems to think MSI are 'innovative and groundbreaking', not just a lark.

Some people will say anything to justify themselves.

Anonymous said...

I certainly don't think Lindsey's talent is extraordinary. I wouldn't buy her work; those big dioramas wouldn't fit anywhere in my house -- and my house is not small. They wouldn't go with my other art either.

Even so, I don't think it's fair to dismiss her as "talentless" because we have other issues with her. Her dioramas are interesting and extremely detailed. It's obvious she puts a lot of work into them. Do they warrant exhibition? Not my call; I'm not an art expert. But I do think it makes this blog and Lindsey's detractors look bad and opens it up for her fans to play the "jealousy card" when people here totally refuse to admit that her dioramas have any merit at all.

I don't respect Lindsey as a human being. I can call her out on her lack of musical talent (which is pretty indisputable, imo), her hypocrisy, and her association with MSI. I think it's safe to assume she's an opportunist (read gold digger if you like) and that she has used her husband to further her art career. That's reason enough to dislike her without resorting to demeaning her ability and commitment as an artist.

So it seems that Sing is charting on iTunes, and much higher than it was before the Japan version was released. #SingitforJapan is not in the top 200...

I think it's safe to say that the publicity for the Japan record is making more money for MCR than it is Japan.

Anonymous said...

MCR fans are so stupid, they don't even know they're buying the wrong song, therefore they're not helping Japan but are lining the pockets of their dumbass heroes.

Anonymous said...

I think it's safe to say that the publicity for the Japan record is making more money for MCR than it is Japan.

Which is probably exactly what they had in mind when they decided to use their current single. Exploit Japan, make more money, make Sing finally happen (kind of, it's still not breaking any sales figures) and look like heroes again to their fans.

Brilliant, really.

Anonymous said...

Not brilliant, predictable.

For once in your lives, ladies, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Yes, you hate MCRSI, they're assholes sometimes, but aren't we all? I think one or two of you need to remove that stick that's jammed up your ass and lighten up.

For real, it must get pretty boring being high and mighty all the time.

Anonymous said...

PS, I look forward to reading all the outraged, this-is-why-we-don't-like-them comments. ;)

Don't fucking come here then. It's that simple.

Why? Aren't I allowed to leave my opinion?

I mean, you're all eager to express your lovely selves. Why can't I?

Anonymous said...

Nope 2:33. Go cry in your milk someone else if reading here upsets you so much.

Anonymous said...

Telling us to "shut the fuck up" is not an opinion. Telling us you strongly disagree is.

Anonymous said...

Of course you are. I guess I don't get why you come here (to read comments that piss you off) as much as you don't get why we can't let go of MCR things that piss us off.

I have to sign off now anyway... no hard feelings.

Who said I was upset? In fact, I think this blog is hilarious. And I said stfu because I just felt that was the appropriate thing to say to you all because that's what I would say to a bunch of whiny woman such as yourselves.

Anonymous said...

Lol, this blog has been very quiet lately for the most part, but we should, at this particular moment, when it gets pointed out that MCR is making money off their 'noble' gesture that someone comes in to say stfu?

Okay.

Anonymous said...

I think MCR fans are hilarious. And stupid.

Anonymous said...

Whiny, really?

LMAO. I have never read anything here that I would perceive as whining, except for the MCR fans who come here whining about how we need to leave Gerard alooooone.

Anonymous said...

This. They (MCR fans) are a bit like that Chris guy with the crying over LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE thing. That's what I hear whenever they come in here.

Anonymous said...

Do these people have a genuine bone in their body?

Umm, let me think about it...okay thought about it, and don't think so.

Anonymous said...

3:22, it's a bit lame to assume all their fans are stupid. It would be like me coming here and saying all you guys are pathetic losers, but I'm not gonna say that. ;)

Anonymous said...

So MCR made an effort to help Japan an in the process are probably making some money themselves. At least they're raising awareness about the plight in Japan. What about Bono and Angelina Jolie? Would you call them opportunists as well? Maybe they're helping others to "make themselves look good". How do you know any different?

kapunua said...

I don't get this "raising awareness" thing. Not in anything. Not with cancer, not with disasters, not with tragedies. I'm pretty sure we're all aware of it. That's how I feel about facebook statuses and other slacktivism "raising awareness" posts. It's not like I'm going to go, "Oh, cancer, wow I didn't know about that until I read that 'raising awareness' status update. Now that I know what it is, let's set about curing it."

It's just a phrase that really rubs me the wrong way.

Anonymous said...

Raising awareness and informing people on important matters is better then remaining ignorant. Sure people know about the disaster in Japan, but after a few weeks it gets pushed into the back of your mind. Things like releasing songs reminds us that there are people out there that could do with our help. Same with cancer, we all know it exists, but when someone raises awareness it gets people thinking. That's better then nothing.

Anonymous said...

Raising awareness for a cause is kind of like "praying" for something. People say they are praying for someone when they can't (or won't) do anything that really helps, like getting off their asses to do some actual volunteering or donating their own money.

Anonymous said...

At least iTunes had the good sense to finally put #singitforjapan on the homepage of their store. Since then, it's been going up the chart (it's actually charting at #174 today) while the original version has been falling.

The music, feminist message, & fashion elements are great but Riot Grrrl Wednesdays should be about being consciously kinder to all women.

Tell that to Lindsey. She seems to think it's okay to support rape and violence against women in her band.

If U2 had made a record called Pride(In the Name of Love for Live Aid) and were selling it alongside the single in record stores back in 1984 (with the charity record in the back and the original in the front), I think people would have been suspect of Bono's motives as well.

At least Jessicka's twiiter is mostly positive for young girls. Like I've said before I think she's been this way for her entire public career since the early 90's. Could she fake it for 20 years? Maybe? Hoping LynZ will learn a thing or two from her?

Sorry about the double post

Anonymous said...

You know, I could like Lindsey I think if not for the fact that she was in MSI for all those years. The pictures she posted of the feral cats she's trying to find homes for were adorable, and I haven't had any real problems with the things she posts on her twitter except for the faux feminism. (I call it faux because she obviously throws it out the window when it suits here to do so.)

And I agree that Jessicka at least seems sincere. I have nothing against her at all.

Anonymous said...

Damn, I'm being tormented by the typo fairy today. :/

I wonder if Lindsey's had those cats vaccinated for all the things they could be bringing into the house.

I'm not sure if these have already been posted here but since there has been some discussion about Lynz's art.

Seems like Jessicka has more of a career going then Lynz? I guess the Gerard card doesn't work in the art world.

Anonymous said...

And I agree that Jessicka at least seems sincere. I have nothing against her at all.

Agreed. I even read her twitter from time time. She is often quite funny.

Anonymous said...

I do wish women would be kinder to one another.

That includes women who call other women cunts, bitches, old maids, dried up old hags who "can't get a man", etc. just because they dislike MCR and have the guts to call them on their bullshit and hypocrisy. They should not treat their sister women that way over some stupid band.

Yesterday I saw a young girl crying @ the bus stop on her cell. I rolled down my window & said, "don't cry you are beautiful." She smiled. @jessicka

Anonymous said...

I think Jessicka's art is more buyable than Lindsey's. It's the type of thing that would display well in a home, which, let's face it, is what most people have in mind when they buy art.

Anonymous said...

I love how Jessicka just whitewashed her beloved bff's husband threatening to smash a girl's face in. Let's just hope Lindsey's hair dye or L7 records stop him in time before he turns on her and smashes her face in.

Anonymous said...

What type of rich white girl winds down the window and does that to some poor person at a bus stop? Mind your own privileged business, Jessicka.

Anonymous said...

my 2 cents. Not really sure why Jessicka is friends with Lynz? Perhaps Lynz only shows her one face or is really trying to change? I think in either case Jessicka might be a positive influence on Lynz.

Jessicka really has nothing to gain from being Lynz's friend. She doesn't seem into MCR or Gerard. A bunch of dumb MCR fan girls? It isn't like they could afford art? And it seems like her career is doing better then Lynz's?

Anonymous said...

I don't know. I think it was kind of sweet.

I try to say things to young people all of the time. I'll tell a young girl who has an unusual style of dress or of wearing her hair how much I like it, even if they're complete strangers.

Anonymous said...

Do what? Say something nice? What person takes the time to say anything nice to a total stranger ? Do you have a car? Are you rich? You are making some serious assumptions in your statement above.

Anonymous said...

I agree. I also can see how Lindsey might be a fun person to hang out with. Like I said earlier, if she hadn't been in MSI (and then tried to pass herself off as a feminist role model) and wasn't associated with Gerard (whom I despise), I wouldn't have a problem with her.

I'm glad some of us can agree that hating on Jessicka (and even Lindsey) is not what this blog is about. It's about MCR and how they did a 180 on their previous ideals. I don't blame Lindsey for that. I blame the members of MCR.

That doesn't mean I like Lindsey. But the fact remains, all of the members of MCR are grown men. They choose how to comport themselves, and the members of MSI did not force them to act like jerks. They did it all by themselves.

You are kidding, right? From what I gather Jessicka lives in the US and most people here have cars. It is never wrong to say something nice to somebody especially if you see that they are distressed.

Anonymous said...

I also like Jessick's art. I'm surprised. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect from what people had said about Lynz's art. It's not bad. My biggest criticism is that I don't like the colors she uses. Thanks to whoever posted the websites.

Notice Lynz is using the name Lindsey. I think she is trying to distance herself from her MSI persona as much as possible.

Anonymous said...

You can see from the pictures of Lindsey's art that there is an incredible amount of detail in her work, and I imagine they would seem even more intricate if you saw them in person. Plus, all her pieces have a very whimsical quality to them that I find appealing. My daughter, who is an artist herself, thought they were interesting. Like I said before, I wouldn't buy them, but if I saw them in a gallery, I imagine I would spend some time studying them.

I still don't like her personally, though.

I agree that she's trying to distance herself from MSI in her work. I think that's a good call on her part.

Anonymous said...

Jessicka's art appeals to me on all levels. I would actually buy it.

Anonymous said...

I think Lindsey and Gerard both overvalue themselves and the things they do. Lindsey's art is overpriced, but it is kind of interesting.

You know, somehow I don't think Jessicka would care enough about MCR to come to this blog to comment.

I could maybe see Lindsey doing it, but not Jessicka.

One negative crazy comment an hour. Grow the fuck up. You make the rest of us look bad.

I think most of the people here are positive. It's just that we have one or two who have a raging hate-on for Lindsey and anyone she associates with.

I don't like Lindsey, but I was never a fan of MSI, so I don't dwell on my dislike of her. Before she married Gerard, MSI never even crossed my radar screen.

The people I have major issues with are the members of MCR. They're the ones who fooled me. They're the ones I wasted my money on.

Anonymous said...

1:48 PM

Understandable. I just refuse to hate anybody because of an association. I'd rather see what they are like for myself. Through this blog I found out about Jessicka's art which to me is a good thing. I think it is a good thing to have positive moments talking about art and other music between discussing our disappointment in Gerard and MCR.

I also seriously doubt anybody from MCR, MSI, their wives, or associates post here. I really don't see what it would prove or why they would waste their time.

I don't think people here were saying Jessicka is a "role model". I was one of the people talking about her, and I certainly don't view her as such.

I do think she is a decent artist and an intelligent woman. I do have some respect for her and think she is a feminist. I don't care much for her choice of friends, but think that people can be friends with someone without agreeing with everything they do. They don't even have to like their husbands.

Anonymous said...

So if your friend represents and does things against some of your so-called core values, you would ignore it and continue with the friendship because it doesn't challenge or make you uncomfortable, or make you appear like a complete hypocrite?

What then attracts you to this friendship? I understand not agreeing and having different ideas about things, but when someone breeches your so-called core values, do you just turn a blind eye to it and continue like it never happened? Or make a comment that makes you appear that you are in emotional conflict to retain your image?

Seems to be the case.

I agree with the decent artist and the not liking husbands part. That's about it.

I think Jessicka probably accepts the line that MSI is satire. Maybe deep down she knows that's bullshit, but she likes Lindsey so she lets it go. Or maybe she knows that Lindsey believes it is satire because Lindsey is so damn dumb.

Who knows?

I do know that I've had friends who believed really stupid shit and because we shared other common interests, I was willing to let their stupid shit go.

Anonymous said...

Sounds more like selective feminism.
