A few links

I followed a few links from a link someone posted here, to ONTD. From there, there was a discussion about MCR's racism and sexism with posts to a Tumblr that had the same views about them.

It is nice to see that people are finally catching up to everyone here.

So here are the links for you.

MCR link on ONTD discussing Frank and Gerard's disgusting behavior.

That led to a Tumblr post detailing Gerard's "I'd smash your face" threat. (I personally do not have a Tumblr so I don't know how to repost that. But anyone with a Tumblr, please repost.)

Frank's racism even made it onto Yahoo questions. Here.

So there you go, we are not the only ones out there willing to call bands out on their disgusting behavior.

Hope everyone has a nice spring time!

They should have just stuck with selling photos of Japan. They've done it before (when they were recording the new album) and the pictures have always sold out. I think that was a better idea then the remixed single and fans artwork. Seriously, who gives a crap if their fans come up with drawings or whatever? Does MCR have to incorporate art with EVERYTHING?

Anonymous said...

9:30, when you've behaved in a negative way for a long period of time like MCR have, people will naturally suspect everything you do. That's how I've gotten to feeling about MCR.

kapunua said...

In case you missed it, Attitude!Anon, I was the one that said that Twitter was promoting #songsforjapan, and also that the selling of a CD with proceeds to Japan is awesome. The way you have of ignoring the points I make in favor of dishing attitude is vaguely familiar.

However if you click the hashtag, most people are just tweeting names of songs they think apply to Japan, and some of them are in very bad taste.

Anonymous said...

What it comes down to is that this isn't about MCR. It's about Japan.

What MCR is doing seems to be more about MCR than anything. They're just carrying on with more of the same old "Art is the Weapon" b.s.

Instead of doing something in a timely manner to raise money quickly, they have to so something more complicated, which involves the fans sending in art, videos, pictures, etc., which won't have any bearing on how many people buy the remix.

They don't seem to be that concerned about raising money, only furthering their "artsy" new image.

Anonymous said...

Also, by delaying the release of the remix, many fans will buy the actual single, thinking the proceeds are going to Japan.

Anonymous said...

^And many fans will donate art and videos instead of buying the remix. They'll justify downloading it illegally by saying, "Oh, I contributed to the video they put up on facebook, so I don't have to send money."

kapunua said...

It's funny. Speaking of HitRECorders promoting HR's efforts for Japan, Joe just reblogged my hat tipping post. Aww. He's very nice. ^_^

Anonymous said...

Who wants a remix of that crappy song anyway? The Glee version was bad enough. There's not enough autotune on the planet to make that song sound good.

Anonymous said...

What about the other artists who contributed to the Songs for Japan album on iTunes. Do you think it's all about them too?

Anonymous said...

I think the other artists were probably asked to contribute and they said yes. Sure, it's good publicity, but their names aren't all over the thing and neither is the name of their song.

If MCR had been asked to be on this record, I think that would have been a good thing for them to do.

It's not the releasing of the remix that bothers me so much, it's the way they're going about it. Changing the lyrics in a hashtag to say #SINGitForJapan just irks me. Incorporating their ART IS THE WEAPON shtick into it bothers me as well.

And yeah, the fact that it's MCR and they're a bunch of douchebags who probably don't give a rat's ass about the cause bothers me too.

Where is JGL's blog Kapu?

I don't even have to click that link to guess that it's the SNL appearance. Am I right? I love that one. ^_^

Anonymous said...

Yep. :)

That was the best thing SNL has seen in years.

kapunua said...

Agreed! The backflips! He does backflips again in his video with Zooey Deschanel. Homeboy can really dance.

Anonymous said...

I remember reading reviews of that show and people were saying things like "OMG, last night SNL was actually good! It's a sign of the apocalypse!"

I was bummed because I missed it.

Anonymous said...

JGL sent me a personal private email thanking me for my support, I'm a badass.

Yeah, and Gerard buttered your muffin at Mayo's too, didn't he?

Fuck off, troll.

Anonymous said...

Oh man, that was nasty.

But I lol'd. :)

Anonymous said...

Anyway, I was very impressed by that clip. I didn't realize JGL could dance. He doesn't look like the dancing type.

Anonymous said...

You should watch him in (500) Days of Summer and the video he did with Zooey, 5:51.

Anonymous said...

Does anybody have a link to the video with JGL and Zooey Deschanel?

Anonymous said...

Link.

Marc Webb directed both this and (500) Days of Summer. Now he's doing the reboot of Spiderman. He's come a long way since doing videos for MCR.

Anonymous said...

I hope Marc Webb does a better job with Spiderman than Zack Snyder did with Watchmen.

I'm not really wild about Christopher Nolan's Batman films either. I loved Inception though. Hopefully The Dark Knight Rises will be better than the last two.

Anonymous said...

I just googled Marc Webb and he has a pretty impressive list of music videos on his resume.

I didn't realize he'd done Sic Transit Gloria. I love that so much. I wish Brand New weren't so reclusive. I don't think they've done another video since.

kapunua said...

I also wasn't wild about the Batman film, but it spawned one of my favorite youtube videos ever: ARE YOU SPEAKING BAT? This never stops being funny. ^_^

But I will totally watch the new one because my husband Tom Hardy is in it. And Joe. :D

6:17, thanks for providing that link! Please tell me you've all seen their "Sid and Nancy" one because it's hilarious and disturbing.

Hocking said...

I've already donated, many times, I bought the songs for Japan, my school took donations today as i checked in for Spring quarter, and i donated to several of the animal chairties involved overseas, specifically in Japan. I was worried about Cat Island over there.

As for Sing, we only have to deal with it for a few more days, cause their releasing Planetary (GO!) later this month..

Anonymous said...

It's great that so many people and organizations are donating to the Japan relief efforts. My business fraternity set a specific goal which we exceeded by more than a thousand dollars.

Anonymous said...

I have seen the Sid and Nancy video. It is a bit disturbing, isn't it? LMAO. It was not what I was expecting at all. Marc Webb definitely has an offbeat sense of humor. ^_^

Anonymous said...

I've seen that vid!

I love me some JGL, but let me tell you, he makes one FUGLY Nancy!

Anonymous said...

My daughter and son have both had the opportunity to give to Japan at school, and my workplace is collecting for the Japanese Red Cross. In addition, we have made a donation as a family.

People should do what they feel comfortable doing, and from what I've seen, most are opening up their hearts and wallets.

It's very upsetting to see negativity like the Pearl Harbor comments on facebook, but I don't think those people are in the majority. They just make a lot of noise.

Anonymous said...

I don't get why you guys dislike Lyn-Z so much. She's an artist and a musician. I'd think you would be happy that Gerard is with somebody he shares common interests with. It's not like she's some bimbo Victoria's Secret model like most rockstars go for.

Those of you who go on about KOL, did you know that their singer is marrying this chick?

I'd choose Lyn-Z over this brainless bimbo any day.

Anonymous said...

Why does her being a model make her "brainless," 8:15?

Anonymous said...

I'm not really a KOL fan, but I think Lily is gorgeous. I don't know enough about her to form any opinion on whether or not she has any brains, 8:15.

Just because she's beautiful doesn't mean she's stupid.

Anonymous said...

She parades around in her underwear for a living. I think that says a lot about her. Isn't that worse than flashing your underpants onstage?

Anonymous said...

I don't get why you like Lyn-Z so much. She's a racist and a misogynist who mocks child abuse and promotes violence against women.

Anonymous said...

Someone can parade around in their underwear until the cows come home, if that's what they want. Can they parade around in their underwear while performing songs full of racial slurs and lyrics about women being raped? Well, sure. They can. But I reserve my right to call them a total fucking asshole and a shitty person for it. Lindsey is an asshole, a shitty person, and a complete idiot. She's proven that by trying to defend her racism and sexism.

Anonymous said...

If the only thing Lindsey did was to flash her underwear onstage, I wouldn't have a problem with her.

It's the association with MSI and the claiming to be a role model when she doesn't really do anything but flash her underwear onstage that bothers me.

Anonymous said...

It's the claiming to be a role model when said 'inspiration' is basically side-show racism that makes me hate her. Why should you be anyone's role model when you're a racist sack of shit who promotes violence against women with your 'music'?

Anonymous said...

Don't hate her because she's beautiful 8:15.
I've heard she's actually very smart.

Anonymous said...

She parades around in her underwear for a living. I think that says a lot about her.

It says she's smart enough to earn millions of dollars doing what millions of other women do for free at the beach.

She's also a cosmetics model. She has that perfectly symmetrical face that cosmetics company's look for in spokesmodels. Her bone structure is perfect.

Siobhan (nsi) said...

Lindsey proved herself to be a total hypocrite in that embarrassing TasteitTv interview in which she desperately tried to appear like someone who's really ambitious in using her more than doubtful and nominal celebrity to educate people on feminism. In that interview she claimed that she hates the word 'slut'. Apparently, she doesn't seem to mind the word 'cunt' and her husband using it to degrade teenagers.
I still think that Frances Bean's idiotic tweet back then in which she tried to lecture another girl that it's always okay to call someone a cunt, but never a slut was actually taken from Lindsey Way's rules of faux feminism 101.

Anonymous said...

8:15, people like you really piss me off. Just because somebody is a model DOES NOT mean they are a "bimbo" or stupid or dumb. You don't know that woman, so why assume she is brainless?

PS- I think Lily is beautiful, and if I were a man I'd chose her over LynZ any freakin day. I think LynZ's tatts are hideous.

Anonymous said...

Also, I appreciate the fact Caleb doesn't go around screaming how amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing his girl is. That gets f****** annoying really fast. Gerard, take note.

Anonymous said...

I've been a KOL fan since 2004, and of course I knew about Lily. She's beautiful and she gets paid tons of money to model lingerie. Why not? If I looked like her, I'd probably do the same thing.

I tell you what I wouldn't do, though. I wouldn't pretend to play a bass in a band that spews hate speech against women while trying to pass myself off as a feminist role model to a bunch of brain dead zombie fansheep.

If Lily starts doing that kind of crap, then I'll have a problem with her. Til then I'll just send out best wishes to her and Caleb.

Anonymous said...

Also, I appreciate the fact Caleb doesn't go around screaming how amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing his girl is. That gets f****** annoying really fast. Gerard, take note.

THIS!

Can you imagine if Gerard were engaged to a Victoria's Secret model? He'd probably take out a billboard ad to brag about it. Then he'd probably show up onstage wearing Victoria's Secret lingerie.

Anonymous said...

^ Lol.

From what I can see, Caleb and Lily seem like a normal couple. You never hear them talking about each other. She's never tried to make herself more famous by using his name. I'd say Lily is more of a feminist then LynZ "don't call me Mrs. Way" Way.

Anonymous said...

You made me laugh 12:14!

Anonymous said...

I would love to see Gerard Way prancing around the stage wearing the Victoria's Secret angels' wings!

Even better I want to see Ray Toro wearing those things while shredding!

kapunua said...

I'd rather not see any of them do anything, honestly. "Shredding?" Yeah, I remember back when that word was getting tossed around.

Looks like Lyndsey had a successful show and she and her husband were happily celebrating with a kiss.:)

Lol @ that picture. Lindsey looks like she's about to puke. And Gerard is drinking 'apple cider' again, I suppose.

That bleach job is truly trashtastic.

Anonymous said...

I think Gerard looks drunk in those pictures.

Anonymous said...

Awkward. Awkward. Awkward. That picture looks awkward.

Anonymous said...

They always look awkward together in pictures. From the very first picture of them kissing that was circulated around the internet, it always looks like they don't quite know what they're doing. Like, where do the noses go and whatnot.

They need to give up the PDA, because it makes their marriage look like a sham. Baby or no baby.

Anonymous said...

LOL! That picture. What is she doing with her arms? She looks like such a spazz.

Anonymous said...

Is that Gerard she's kissing or a baboon in a red wig?

Anonymous said...

He really did look wasted in that video of him from Lindsey's previous 'art' show. But then I also think he seemed wasted or high in that video interview he did for Spin or Q where he posed with the Iggy Pop stuff. Not sure if it's 'diet soda' or 'apple cider' in the glass this time, but I have little faith in him to keep control of his addiction seeing as he think it's okay to threaten violence against women over his twitter account.

Anonymous said...

He doesn't seem to think he has an addiction anymore. Or maybe his drinking, drug-using friends have told him that addiction is okay.

So much for Frank slapping NyQuil out of his hand, eh? What a crock.

Personally, I think Lindsey was on drugs or something when she made that diorama. I don't see any connection to South Park at all. Am I missing something?

To me her dioramas all look alike. The people are always lined up and look like they're about to fall down. The symmetry bothers me too.

I realize art is subjective, but if someone can explain the appeal of these things to me, please do. I'm honestly not trying to rip on her. It's just that these remind me of things my daughter used to make circa 2nd grade.

Anonymous said...

It looks like MCR meets south park to me.

There's probably a lot more detail in that diorama than you can see in the picture.

I think it's kind of cool looking. I wouldn't buy it, but it's interesting to look at.

Anonymous said...

I like the way he wears a tie. It looks different. I think it's because of his long graceful neck.

Anonymous said...

He does wear a tie well, and he looks amazing in a suit. The more tailored, the better. He has the kind of body that comes from being in really good physical condition -- but not bulked up. You can see that when he dances or does handstands and back flips.

I prefer his body type over someone like Tom Hardy's, although TH is extremely hot too. And Joe's personality is so attractive; it makes him even more appealing.

kapunua said...

I find that my taste in body types shifts with what a guy is like. I know IRL a few guys kind of like Joe, in terms of body types; thin and wiry. Being in MA I also know a ton of guys built like Tom Hardy - well, maybe not as hot though. ^_^ All in all I like guys who take care of themselves and have some sort of physical talent.

But nothing gets me more than a nice smile, that's what really bowls me over. :)

Anonymous said...

Now THAT is one handsome fella.

Anonymous said...

She looks pregnant.

Anonymous said...

^who cares.

Anonymous said...

I think 1.20 was trying to evoke a reaction. Let's ignore that comment.

Anonymous said...

I like thin and wiry. Long and lean. Tight and toned.
Too many bulging muscles is a turn off for me.
I never went for the body builder types like Arnold in his Conan days.

Anonymous said...

No. That's just too much muscle and a complete turn off for me.

Anonymous said...

I love Tom Hardy, but I like him more when he's at his normal weight, like in Rock n Rolla. He got a bit too bulked up for Bronson, and from what I gather, he'll be even bigger in Batman. But Iike his overall body type. The thing I find most attractive about him is his talent. Oh, and those lips. And his crooked smile.

Anonymous said...

^I like his overall body type, is what I meant to say.

kapunua said...

Yeah, for me too: TOO much muscle mass looks kinda gross. But some men can make it hot. Like Huge JackedMan. I mean err, Hugh Jackman. ^_^

And Tom Hardy too. :D

I feel My Chemical Romance puts together solid albums that you can listen to from front to finish without skipping tracks.

You’ve got too, you have too. Singles are very important and I almost think of singles as an advertisement for a band. Singles are the songs most people pick up on because they have a special quality to them. They have a certain pixie dust that happens to catch your ear, and a lot of people can enjoy them.

You hear a single or two that make you want to buy the record, and most good music fans will tell you they have favorite album tracks they enjoy better than the singles. It is always about digging deep, and digging further like that.

I am really proud of us for doing that, and we don’t put a bad song on our record. We don’t put throwaways, we can’t fucking do it.

I know there are bands, and people out there doing it, and it sucks. To me, those are the people who kill the record, it’s what kills the album. A lot of people talk about it is because of downloading, or iTunes and the 99 cent single, which plays a part, but the reality is, people are fucking tired of paying ten to fifteen dollars for three songs. That is the problem. There was an era of music with a lot of fucking bands, and a lot of rock artists who put out shitty records and ruined it. They are the ones who fucking ruined it.

You have to be on top of your game all the time, and there are a lot of people who don’t do that. They concentrate on three or four singles, and put them up front on the record. It is so fucking obvious, and the rest of the record straight up fucking sucks. You can talk to these people and they will talk about it like they did their best, but they are throwaways. That is what sucks, so that is what killed the album.

We are doing our part, and put the same amount of effort into every single song that goes onto a record. We spend countless hours working to make sure it is right. We cannot do it, we can’t put out shitty songs, we won’t do it.

Bands that create albums based on singles eventually get weeded out over time. I think My Chemical Romance has stayed popular for so long because you do put out quality work, and in the long run will show with longevity.
I hope. It is definitely funny how the music scene looked when we came out starting with Revenge. Now it has been the thinning of the herd, I guess I’ll call it, and thank God too. It is funny because we were not in the best of companies, and a lot of times we did not understand why were lumped in with [certain] people, but what are you going to do. I guess at the end of the day, the true stuff rises.

From Danger Days, musically what is your favorite song, and lyrically what is your favorite song and why?
That is a tough one because I have a lot of favorites. “Summertime” musically is great because it is a lot lighter than anything we have ever done before. It is breezy. That song in particular is called “Summertime” because it is about a summer one of us had but also you can picture driving during the summer with the windows rolled down. It has a perfect tempo for that.

"S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W" I feel is our stab at Beatle-esque kind of slow vocals. It has an acoustic guitar, there is a wild solo in there, and a weird arraignment that keeps growing and growing. Musically, I have a lot of favorites, so that is a tough one.

Lyrically, it would definitely be “Sing.” Gerard is an incredible lyricist, and he is aware of things that I think he is not even aware of. He is just a really smart guy that to me is years ahead of what is going on in the world, and the world always seems to catch up to things he writes about. “Sing” is a perfect example of that. Think about what is going on in the world, and read those lyrics. It is really crazy.

In 2004, just as the band was getting huge, Way had a bad night of boozing and pill-popping in Japan and decided to quit drugs and alcohol cold turkey. Recently, though, he's been enjoying the occasional drink. It's not about the high, so much as loosening his own self-imposed restraints. "[Sobriety] became such a thing," he says. "It was so goddamn important to everyone but me. You start to feel like the two guys in the Smiths who wanted to eat cheeseburgers but had to pretend not to. I understand that kids look up to me, that some people might have gotten sober because of me. But it's not an important thing for me anymore."

Hello people!

So, I thought about contacting the Daily Mail about what went down on Twitter and on their website it says:

Do you have a story about a celebrity? Call the Daily Mail showbusiness desk on 0207 938 6364 or 0207 938 6683. For U.S. stories, phone 310 642 2317.

Well, unfortunately, they don't provide you with any e-mail address to which you can send your 'story' to and calling from Germany would be quite expensive.

I wanted to ask if someone here from the U. K. or the U. S. would like to call to inform them?

I want to make my account public again and I'm still receiving new follower requests every day, so I think this isn't over yet. Especially, if I'm making my account public and the fan sheep will be able to read what I've written to and about Gerard so far while they weren't able to see my tweets.

Anonymous said...

Siobahn, even though it would give me great pleasure to expose Gerard as the sexist dumbass he is to the world, I just don't think he is a big enough celebrity to garner any real interest in a national newspaper. Adults don't know, and don't car who he is or what he says. Maybe you should try Kerrang or NME?

Siobhan (nsi) said...

Kerrang and NME are music magazines and they are being paid to suck up to certain artists.
You can clearly see/read that the people interviewing that idiot don't have a single clue about them.
Or they just don't care. I already informed a German music mag. They don't give a fig.
Also, the Daily Mail was the newspaper calling them out on being a death cult after this girl committed suicide.

But it's okay. Maybe it's not such a good idea, after all.

Btw, Tom Hardy was the hottest in Star Trek. :)

Anonymous said...

I do think it's a good idea and I think the Daily Mail would run with it.

Nobody knows who MCR is in the US, but they do know if the UK, if only from the negative press they got from The Daily Mail in the first place.

Is there no physical address where you could print out the screencaps you made and send physical copies? I would think that would be your best bet.

Anonymous said...

Kerrang and NME are most likely on Warner's payroll. They are so far up MCR's ass, they would almost have to be.

Siobhan (nsi) said...

If they had an e-mail address I would have gladly done it myself. They only print these phone numbers in certain showbiz articles like this one.
You have to scroll down to the end of that article.

There is no information whatsoever on who to contact for this on their specific contact page.

It would not surprise me if Gerard has a full on breakdown in the near future.

I see you posting the new Hesher poster all up in your Tumblr, Kapunua. ^_^

I've been reading reviews for this. Most are good, but regardless of whether or not the reviewer likes the film, they all say Joe shows incredible range and is, essentially, brilliant. But isn't he always?

May 13th needs to hurry up and get here.

Anonymous said...

Lol, geewaysheart, my ass. That's Gerard about as much as Mayo was.

Jared Leto said something interesting and I absolutely think that an ass-cap like Gerard could take a lesson or two from him:

I love seeing the different types of people at the shows, and it’s not uncommon to see, like you said, a young 12-year-old boy or a 40-year-old guy. It’s a pretty disparate audience and I really enjoy that. You don’t choose your audience. Anyone has the right to listen to these songs, and when I write the song I kind of relinquish ownership of it.

he also goes on to talk about doing music for the sake of music and creation, and about having humility.

Yeah, Gerard could take a lesson from him. Except, someone who has his head so far up his own ass would never listen to words like that.

So was that an April Fool's joke, 6:35? Bad, boring song, really bad vocals. Or was that the point?

Honestly? The Rick Roll was better.

Not so great review of the Oakland concert.

I guess this reviewer isn't on Warner's payroll.

Elton John scolds Kings of Leon over Glee
by: Tom Jicha April 1st, 2011 | 2:11 PM
Way to go, Elton John.

John, the guest star on “Saturday Night Live” this week, did a promotional turn on Jimmy Fallon Thursday night.

A mention that John’s music was the theme on “American Idol” this week, segued into a discussion of bands who refuse to clear their music for shows such as “Idol” and “Glee.” Kings of Leon, for example, has refused “Glee” the rights to do their songs.

“Lighten up, you a–holes,” John said. “What the hell is wrong with you guys?”

Bands should take it as a compliment when someone wants to cover their music, John said. He does. “It’s so great when people do your songs.”

Anonymous said...

I suppose Elton would have had a few choice words to say about MCR refusing to do a song for Twilight?

Who cares what he thinks. I'm with Dave Grohl on this one. A musical artist has the right to say no to whatever they want.

Anonymous said...

A musical artist has the right to say no to whatever they want.

Agreed. Artists have the right to say yes or no and shouldn't be called sell outs if they say yes or assholes if they say no.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I don't have too much respect for Elton John after this.

Apparently, he's the asshole.

Anonymous said...

KoL aren't Glee fans so they said no to Glee.

MCR aren't Twilight fans so they said no to Twilight.

Their music. Their decision.

Anonymous said...

Elton only called that reporter the c word because he's been called it so many times himself. Monkey see. Monkey do. ^__~

Anonymous said...

^Exactly.

I think the problem people have with MCR doing Glee is that they made such a big deal of turning down Twilight, like they thought they deserved a pat on the back or something.

KOL turned down Twilight too, and you didn't see them writing a song congratulating themselves over it.

1:51 said...

My exactly was for the comment at 1:45.

I think it's rather shameful that Elton called that reporter the c-word. For someone who had probably been called horrible things because of his sexuality, he of all people should not be throwing around such slurs.

Anonymous said...

Lol, can you see the Foo Fighters doing a song called High School Glee Club Money, where they congratulate themselves on turning Glee down?

No, neither can I.

Anonymous said...

I don't see anything wrong with bands doing Twilight. If it's good enough for Muse and Radiohead...

Anonymous said...

I don't see anything wrong with bands doing Twilight. If it's good enough for Muse and Radiohead...

Exactly. Bands should have the choice to say yes or no and not have to take crap for it, either in the press or from other artists.

Anonymous said...

There was a lot of press surrounding Arcade Fire and KOL turning down Twilight, but not so much for MCR. I guess that's why they wrote Vampire Money. They had to get the info out somehow. Lol.

Anonymous said...

I would just like to ask what the fuck were MCR thinking when they decided to cover Common People?

Like, butchering Song 2 wasn't enough for them?

Anonymous said...

Most of the blame for the uneven showing has to go on the vocalist's shoulders. Although Way looked striking, with his bright-red-dyed hair and white suit coat over a black shirt, he exhibited little stage presence or charisma. It takes conviction to sing songs about a fictional evil corporation from the future to thousands of Hot Topic shoppers and other suburban mall rats -- but Way often sounded like he was reading off a teleprompter when he spoke to the crowd.

Sounds like Gerard is not enjoying performing the new material from Danger Days. Maybe it's because he made an album that he thought his artsy wife and his new artsy friends would like, instead of making the kind of music he likes himself.

When he does covers of songs like Common People, it really brings home how un-MCR-like Danger Days is.

Maybe he is finally paying homage to all the albino fans they neglected during their Black Parade period.

(3) My Chemical Romance vs. (5) Paramore
My Chemical Romance are making their second straight appearance in the Final Four of MTV's Musical March Madness, having ended the Cinderella story that was Sum 41's run through the tournament to win the East region. They'll take on Paramore, who managed to top the always-dangerous Tokio Hotel to win the South. Which one of these bands will compete for the coveted Musical March Madness trophy? Your votes will decide it!

Thank you for voting!
My Chemical Romance 47.99%
Paramore 52.01%

LOL! Go Paramore!!

He's channeling his inner Tony Manero.

Anonymous said...

Gerard admirably rallied the crowd for "Sing." (Why wasn't this a massive pop smash? It even had a fitting Glee version going for it.) But it was striking how Black Parade anthems like "Mama" and "Teenagers" continued to inspire the frontman's most emphatic gestures. He thanked the audience profusely and professed his delight to be back in America.

Yet his face rarely flashed with the intensity seen in MCR's many videos. Now a family man, Gerard may have grown more guarded. Or he could've simply had a case of opening-night jitters. Either way, he could stand to follow his own advice and sing it from the heart, sing it 'til he's nuts, and even for the ones that'll still hate his guts.

Anonymous said...

Gerard is so lost. I don't see how you guys can't see that. He is not the same man on this tour that I saw on the Revenge tour 5 and a half years ago. Something terrible happened to him during The Black Parade era. I think he's been trying to put the pieces back together and failing because he's around the wrong people. I worry for him. I wish other people did too.

Anonymous said...

All the worry in the world is not going to prevent someone from being self destructive. They are in blinkers and only see what they see.

Lynn said...

He is an artist now, he can finally be his true self, which in my opinion, a douche.

Anonymous said...

His own true self? And what is that?

He simply mirrors the people he is around at the moment imo.

MCR vs Paramore

Disturbed vs Green Day

My money's on Disturbed taking it all this year. Inheriting the crown from Coheed and Cambria.

The future isn't bulletproof. It's indestructable.

Vote Disturbed !

That's probably true. Gerard is channeling his inner Simon. Only his inner Simon is shorter, not as sexy, and can't sing nearly as well as the original.

Anonymous said...

Do people really care who wins those stupid MTV contests? I don't think they are a measure of anything more than how bored your fans are.

Anonymous said...

True. Lindsey's twelve year old self had better taste than her adult self. ;)

Anonymous said...

Seriously? You expect us to have compassion for a man who calls a fan a c*nt for no good reason, then threatens violence on the person who calls him it? Where was his compassion?

Gerard is "flinging shit in the eye of the world" or whatever. He doesn't want or need our compassion. What he needs is a good swift kick in his ass.

for any completists, GWay's infamous use of the c-word is proudly displayed here:

Are you one of these fans that think they can "save him"? Tell me how exactly you can stop whatever you think he is doing, and how peoples' feeling of compassion would help that?

Anonymous said...

What he needs is a good swift kick in his ass

I agree, though he seems to be one of these people that the harder you kick, the more determined he is to continue what you dislike.

The hypocritical Four Nice touch Siobhan and I couldn't agree with you more.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone considered that maybe tweeting Gerard with anger and admonition is not the answer? Maybe if we all tweeted him with love and concern, he would respond more positively. Maybe if he knows there are a lot of people out there who don't just blindly accept everything he does, but who still care and want him to get to a place where he is okay again, that would help. We could make a real difference in his life instead of making him lash out in anger.

I let him know in my tweets that although I don't approve of things like threats of violence and his drinking, I still care. If enough of his fans did that, maybe we could help turn him back around.

Anonymous said...

Nah, he's a misogynist asshole who needs to be called out for what he is. Only when people start turning their backs on him will he start to change. That's why it makes me so sick to see people who are supposed to be anti-sexism like Jessicka blindly go back to just kissing his ass after he's proven himself to be such a disgusting woman-hating idiot. But then, she needs the attention being his wife's friend brings her, I guess.

Anonymous said...

You're assuming we still care about him, 6:35. I can't speak for anybody else, but I don't care about him anymore. He has proven himself to be a liar, a cheat, a hypocrite, etc. Why should I give a fuck about trying to "help" him. He doesn't want my help or yours either.

Anonymous said...

It won't 6:35. Don't delude yourself.

Anonymous said...

I agree 6:42.

Anonymous said...

6:35, I used to care, not any more.

Paramore are beating MCR in the MTV thing. Hayley and co are at 54%.

Anonymous said...

I think it would be kind of awesome if Paramore beats MCR. Especially after Gerard called them "nice kids" so condescendingly when he talked about them doing a song for Twilight. Also, they're fronted by a girl and I so want to see a girl kick Gerard Way's ass (metaphorically).

So yeah, I know that MTV contests don't mean much, otherwise, MCR wouldn't have even made it to the final four, but I still hope Paramore beats them.

Anonymous said...

Paramore is only winning because there fans cheat. They have some kind of program that lets them vote multiple times with one vote. They don't play fair, but the MCRmy always plays fair. MCR is the true winner!
