I thought this was relevant to this blog's interests because "turning racist" (really misogynist) and/or getting involved with a racist band was obviously such a huge turning point, and was part of what created this blog and drawing everyone here. I also thought it was really funny.
But thank you JGL fans. For introducing me to a little movie called Brick. It was a masterpiece. I just watched Stop Loss recently and he was really good in that too.

Yay! I think you'll like it. One thing, the dialogue is a bit different, so you have to pay close attention or you might miss things. All in all, I think the film is brilliant. :)
Also, if you can take it, you also may want to check out Mysterious Skin. JGL was incredible in that one, but the subject matter is very, very sensitive. If you're easily upset, I don't recommend it. I'm glad I did watch it because of his performance, but I don't ever want to see it again.

Oddly enough, I think Cillian Murphy looks great with a full beard. Like in the beginning of 28 Days Later. But then I don't think it would be possible for him to look ugly.

I didn't think The King's Speech was as amazing as people are making it out to be. But it was a very good film. James Franco was great in 127 hours, but i think Colin deserves it.
I agree about The King's Speech. If not for Colin's performance, it would have been just a so-so film. But Mr. Firth made you feel everything his character was going through. That's why I think he deserves it.
I've been a fan of James DeFranco's ever since I saw him play a drugged-out rockstar in some made for TV film, and I think he was brilliant, but this one belongs to Mr. Firth.

The Oscars! I was a little bummed that Zimmer didn't win best score. I'm always pleased for Trent, but come on, one of the best things about Inception was the music.
As far as docs go, I only just found out about Gasland. I really wish that had won, because it's such a terrible and important documentary. I think more people should know about it!

6:39 anon. I hope you don't mind me saying this but even though Christian Bale was born in Wales he doesn't actually have a Welsh accent, except for the "Blaahhdee 'ell" bit at the very beginning of his speech. That's very Welsh!
If you want to hear a real Welsh accent then may I suggest you listen to interviews by Matthew Rhys, Ioan Gruffudd and Rhys Ifans. They still have strong accents but that's probably because Welsh is their first language.

You can do the math yourself by looking at the global track chart, which includes South America and most other countries where MCR is still really popular. There's no way considering how quickly it dropped off the global chart that it could have moved that many copies in that number of weeks.

MCR isn't what I would consider "big" in the US at all. Pop artists, rappers and country music is "big". Rock bands have to settle for scraps. They might be big on alternative music stations, but those stations have trouble just staying afloat except in very big cities.

The partners of band members always have a choice of where they can go. They can stay backstage as long as they're not in the way. They can walk around with their all access passes or the band members can request a special seating section for the wives, gfs, so's and family members.
And there's always the option of staying, in the hotel room or doing something else. They def don't have to sit front and center. Most wives and gf's stay backstage or side stage if they want to watch the gig. Some sit in unsold areas of the venue way in the back or off side and out easy sight.
Most do that. Not all.

Just pointing out that venues in Europe don't expect guests of the band to be any different than paying fans. Yes they could choose to sit in any unused seat, but there is seldom a special section for them like there is in the US.

As a woman, I have no problem with pornography. I've read it, watched it, and on occasion even written it. What I do have a problem with is the "sex industry" as you put it. Most of the mainstream pornography that's out there is totally directed at men. Apocalypse Now is one of the best movies ever made, in my opinion. It not only shows the horror of war, but the monstrosity that often lives in the hearts of men. If you haven't seen it, you should.

I disagree. The news magazines and shows like Today don't have to do interviews with him. They know he's crazy, yet they are exploiting the public's fascination with watching a famous person implode in order to boost their ratings.

This, this, this! I always thought Lindsey saw her chance to cash in on Gerard's fame and swooped in when she knew he was vulnerable. I don't excuse his behavior either but I think she took advantage of him when he was in a bad place.
I used to like Jessicka as well, but not now. Now I know why she hangs out with LynZ and co. She's just like them.
I think the Charlie Sheen incident drives home the point that a person can completely lose his mind, fritter away his fortune, put his life, livelihood, and the livelihoods of his children in jeopardy -- and there is absolutely nothing that anyone who cares about him (his father, mother and brothers) can do about it.
The people who always say that things like "there's no way Frank and Ray would let Gerard go back on drugs" need to pay close attention here: Nobody can stop a person from self-destructing except himself.
I was around 10th grade when GW and lindsey got married, and i had sat through that entire summer reading and watching what was going on with MCR. I don't know how some of the fans turned a blind eye to his behavior. My thought at the time, was that he's acting like an asshole to impress her, and is still in some weird way trying to impress her with his behavior. One of my friends who's an MSI fan thought that he had a mental breakdown and she pushed herself on to him by pretendign to love him. Who knows with these two, but if Lindsey did just see a paycheck when she got with him shame on her, cause he needs help and she's not helping him get it.
I agree, Gerard was acting like a lunatic on that PR tour. If you have any doubt about that, just go watch that interview with Steven on FUSE.
The thing about Bipolar I is it gets worse with each successive manic episode, and it doesn't go away. If Gerard was manic at Pro Rev and he's not taking meds, he'll be manic again, and if he's drinking or doing drugs, that will just exacerbate the condition.
It wouldn't surprise me to see him doing a Charlie Sheen sometime in the future.
