The art of defending racism

Someone sent me a great link in my inbox today that I want to share with you all. These are a lot of the excuses we hear from the MSICR camp and defenders...

The Art of Defending Racism

Saying or doing something racist will come naturally to you- but defending it? You’ll want to use one of the following tactics. ...

Tactical options:

A. It’s not that serious

1. We didn’t know better (and we never will)
2. You’re too sensitive
3. It’s not a big deal because it’s just (a movie, a song, a book, words, etc.)
4. Why should we care? (You don't matter anyway)
....

B. But!

...
7. We’re not discriminating AS MUCH (as other people/as we used to), isn’t that good?!? Give me a cookie.
...

C. Dismissal!

1. You’re oppressing me by making me be “PC”
2. You’re too stupid to be in this conversation and everything you say doesn’t matter
3. Racism is over now
4. If we don’t talk about it, it’ll magically go away
5. Under my definition- it’s not racist
6. You’re too angry/You’re being irrational
...

Denial of impact:

Denial of impact involves a person avoiding thinking about or understanding the harms their behavior have caused to themselves or others. By doing this, that person is able to avoid feeling a sense of guilt and it can prevent that person from developing remorse or empathy for others.

This is a really old link but it's pretty good and it reminded me of some of what people say here in defense of these people.

I think the same thing goes for misogyny and homophobia presented in these lyrics, comments and lifestyles too.

So was Frank Iero mocking Christians when he said to keep the Christ out of his Christmas? Or when he said that he'd rather not celebrate some "magic baby's birthday"?

Or was Gerard mocking the Catholics when he said that going to church as a young child scared the hell out of him and made him think about death all of the time, resulting in his later depression as a teenager, which eventually led him to abuse alcohol and drugs?

How about the title of Frank's picture, "Satan Save the West Coast Because God Wants Us Dead"?

Why don't all of you offended Christians go complain to the guys of MCR for criticizing "your God"?

Jessicka, stop lurking here and go tell your riot gurrlfriend she's a nasty piece of racist, sexist scum who should probably just quit trying to claw back some kind of status as a feminist. Feminism doesn't need idiot like Lindsay. She should keep her antics for her sideshow band, and her other friends who think the N word is funny.

Anonymous said...

I don't see a problem with the word cunt. Cunt can be an insult, but only if you make it one. Same goes for faggot and nigger. I have friends who are fags and friends who are niggers and they call each other that all the time.

It's like fuck. My mom is offended by fuck but my friends always say fuck and nobody in my age group gets offended.

If we all take the words back and use them enough they lose any harmful meanings.

Anonymous said...

MCR and MSI are not black people, so no, it's not okay for them to 'reclaim' the N word. MCR and the Jimmy Urine are not women, so no, it's not okay for them to reclaim the C word. Nice try though.

Anonymous said...

The best thing Lindsey could do for women would be to go throw herself under a bus. No big loss there.

You trolls fail so hard. It's clear you're Mayo Stock, a few of the "lovelies;" and I clearly don't even have to name names. We both know who you are.

That goes for you too, 10:13.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Jessicka has to leave the room when her friends like Lindsey start telling jokes about child molestation and rape, or black people. I wonder if she feels guilty listening to Lindsay play when she's supporting lyrics like that?

Anonymous said...

Well that wasn't obvious.

*Waits for the person who made that comment to come back and slag us off for saying such an awful thing.*

10:13, you're right. Lindsey should throw herself under a bus so her child can be left motherless. Excellent Idea. Not.

Some of you make me sick.

Why are you people so hung up over words? They're just words and they can't hurt you unless you give them the power to hurt you.

Take Bitch. My mom doesn't understand why my friends all call each other bitches. It's because it doesn't mean the same thing it used to. It's a term of endearment. Like Dawg. If I said Waddup Dawg to my mom, she would freak out thinking I was calling her a dog. She just doesn't understand.

You people don't understand that Nigger and Cunt can be viewed that way too. I don't mind if someone calls me Cunt. Just like I don't mind being called Bitch.

You people must all be really old. You just don't get it.

Anonymous said...

11:13, Why don't you throw your lovely self under a bus? I'd stand back, watch, laugh and maybe make a film of it which I'd later post on the web. Now that would be great for all of humanity.

Anonymous said...

11:19, I'm 21 years old. If someone called me a b**** or a c*** I'd be pretty pissed off. You wanna know why? It's because I RESPECT myself. Look that word up.

YOu mean to sell her artwork. Isn't that what artists do when they have a show, try to sell it?

Exactly. My friends would never call me a bitch or cunt for fun. That's not the way we think of ourselves.

Anonymous said...

It's like fuck. My mom is offended by fuck but my friends always say fuck and nobody in my age group gets offended.

But that stays within your group. Do you go around and say that around the people you work with like your managers or maybe your teachers?

Anonymous said...

Guess what?! LynZ is working on a website to show everyone her art work!

Good for her?

I've never really seen any of her artwork except that awful Banana Man picture and maybe one other. I wasn't impressed, but then those were just two pieces and it's hard to form an opinion from that.

I admit, I hope that she's at least moderately talented and can do something with her life besides her non-job with MSI. I'd feel much better about her if she did.

I don't hate her or wish bad things on her just because I hate her band, and I think it would be good if she left MSI permanently.

It wouldn't make me feel any differently towards her jackass of a husband though.

Anonymous said...

Feminism doesn't need idiot like Lindsay

The concept of feminism should include all women and men, even the misguided ones who distort it.

Anonymous said...

I admit, I hope that she's at least moderately talented and can do something with her life besides her non-job with MSI. I'd feel much better about her if she did.

It appears that's what she is trying to do. I also think she is trying to form a new image for herself for the sake of her daughter.

Anonymous said...

Why are you people so hung up over words? They're just words and they can't hurt you unless you give them the power to hurt you.

Don't fool yourself. It's words that project an image and normalize a thought process. It's all part of cognition. If all women start calling themselves bitches and cunts, they internalize the meaning of these words subconsciously. Some men would also see you as a bitch or cunt, not another human being. How could women ever then break out of the cycle of being thought of and treated even at a subconscious level, as secondary?

Anonymous said...

The concept of feminism should include all women and men, even the misguided ones who distort it.

I agree.

I don't like the anti-Lindsey remarks made here, and quite frankly, I think the Lindsey "hate" is only maybe one or two people. I'm not even sure that person is even serious. I think there is a distinct possibility that it's just someone who comes here and makes awful, hateful comments about her to make this blog look bad (e.g., suggesting she throw herself under a bus).

I've called that person or persons out more than once. So have others.

I don't like Lindsey's band. I don't care for her idiotic interviews on feminism and I don't think she's very bright. But she's a human being with a child and I would never wish any harm on her.

Anonymous said...

Fuck teachers. What do they know about the world. My friends and I don't need and don't take their crap and we don't follow their rules. We aren't going to be doctors or lawyers, we're all going to be artists and musicians. We won't have managers.

We are going to live life on our own terms. We'll do what we want, say what we want to say and fuck the world if they don't like it.

You guys don't understand what Punk is. You don't understand what Alternative is. We aren't a part of the system, we are going to break the system and change the world.

Anonymous said...

Put it another way. If someone constantly tells a child they are "bad" or not good enough, they internalize the word and it becomes part of their self concept. Words have power. Just look at the MCR fans who think these words are nothing. Are these girls independent. Do they educate themselves? Do they work?

Anonymous said...

You guys don't understand what Punk is. You don't understand what Alternative is. We aren't a part of the system, we are going to break the system and change the world.

This is the thinking " we aren't part of the system". Very idealistic and untrue. You are. Everyone is. Punk has been around for more than forty years now. The movement hasn't radicalized anything, if anything the worls is even more conservative. The punks that used to follow the punk movement when younger have become corporate animals themselves. Because it's reality. Even MCR plays by the rules they so deny.

We don't have to work. We don't need to educate ourselves with books and college degrees. We won't be held down by nine to five jobs. That's the world of our parents and grandparents, not us. We are going to create a new world through art, music and self expression.

We will make our own rules and the only rule we will have is NO RULES.

Anonymous said...

Exactly. Real punks with no rules get married and have a baby, house and dog within a year. Because they have no rules and don't follow traditions. Yeah.

Anonymous said...

And then you wind up living with your parents when you're in your mid-thirties. Have fun with that.

Or I could wind up living in a comfortable house in LA with a great career that I got on my own terms. If that doesn't work at least I tried. I put myself out there and I didn't become a slave to the system

I won't live with my parents after I turn 18. No way. I'll throw myself in front of a bus before that happens.

Anonymous said...

So you're saying if someone educates themselves and get has career on those terms, they are being a slave to the system? That's pretty silly.

Anonymous said...

The world cannot be full of punks and artists. Even punks and artists need doctors, teachers, retail workers and people that collect their garbage. It's completely arrogant to think they're hot stuff because they are an artist. They should consider themselves fortunate to have the opportunity to follow their passions.

Anonymous said...

If you live by the rules society give you you are a slave to the system. Who do you know that is happy? People go work their stupid jobs and they come home and sit in fromt of the tv and then get up and do the same thing the next day. Life shouldn't be that way. It should be fun and exciting and different every day or you might just as well be dead.

Doctors, lawyers, teachers, accountants are all zombies. Alive but dead all at the same time. I would rather be fully alive or fully dead with no in between.

That's a very immature thing to say. I'm sure there are doctors, lawyers, teachers and accountants who love their jobs and even contribute to research and new breakthroughs. People that make your life better because of what they contribute.

Anonymous said...

Do you really think that being a musician or an artist is a recipe for happiness?

Think again. Look at the lives of people like Van Gogh, Diane Arbus, Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin and Courtney Love (and those are just the ones I came up with off the top of my head). Do you think those people were/are happy?

Happiness is a complicated thing. It has to do with chemicals in the brain more than anything else, and it's not a permanent state of mind. It also can be a choice.

I don't believe that their are no happy doctors or accountants. I'm not a musician or an artist. I own a business, and I manage to fit in with society for the most part, and I consider myself to be a relatively happy person.

I think people need rules. Otherwise they find themselves directionless and lost.

Another thing young punk, if you think doctors and lawyers have 9 to five job, you have no concept of work in the real world.

Anonymous said...

Well said 5:19. I think some of these young people delude themselves. Artists and musicians still do the same thing we do, they have to support themselves and earn a living. That's why they have to sell their art and tour.

It also opened my eyes to new ways of thinking and concepts. This is what punk is to me. New ways of thinking. Not rejecting all the rules: it's not being strait-jacketed by them.

Anonymous said...

I agree. You can't exist outside of society and still be able to make a living, even if you are an artist or a musician.

And you can't just say, "Fuck teachers," because no matter what kind of art you pursue, be it music, painting, writing -- you still have to have a certain degree of training. It's very, very rare for a person to succeed just on the basis of raw talent. Plus, you have to have a system in place to market yourself.

There will always be rules. Otherwise you wind up living outside the law, which will probably result in living inside a prison. And then, talk about rules...

Anonymous said...

Even prison have their own self made rules.

Very true. Most of the artists I'm aware of completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts of some sort. It even gives them recognition amongst their peers.

You only have to look at GW and Lynz. They may "make art" but they still live in suburbia in LA. They also have to raise a child. No different to any other set of traditional parents.

Believe me when i say one day you will know why your mother tells you the things that she does. Parents want the best for you , though you won't realize it until your older. Now i'm a parent and i have to try and explain why there has to be rules and the importance of him going to school. Now i know what i put my poor mother through! LOL!

Gerard pays for everything. The house, the studio space, the art materials, Lindsey's website costs, everything. Just like he paid for Eliza's phonebills, her travel costs and everything else she used to brag about on myspace. So when Gerard decided Eliza wasn't good enough for him anymore, he cut her off financially and she had nothing. Zero. She had to go live with a bunch of nuns for weeks.

Now, maybe Lindsey's smart and figured out that getting pregnant and actually keeping the baby helps her out in this regard. But Gerard can afford the better lawyer. In the end, the woman always gets screwed over. The sad thing is, these women do it to themselves. And all for the sake of fucking a rock star.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure Gerard loves Lindsey and would never break it off or cheat on her with some person he meets on tour. I mean, I know he did that to his last girlfriend and the one before that, but come on, he loves her more! It's different this time!

Anonymous said...

Gerard gets bored of his past 'things' and moves on quickly. He eventually ends up resenting them as 'holding him back'. I don't see why Lindsey would be any different. She'll become the nagging wife who wants him to prioritize his child soon enough, but fact is, the only person that matters to Gerard Way is Gerard Way. I just hope she got a decent prenup, but I don't think that was factored in with all the rushing to get married backstage.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, keep telling yourself that! Lindsey is looking old and fat. She's lost her looks, her edge and her danger. Won't be long before Gerard trades her in for a newer model more befitting his swelling ego.

Anonymous said...

He probably already has traded her in. He just needs to keep up the appearances of being a devoted husband and father for the press. Meanwhile, Lindsey fills the hole in her life with drugs and paper mache down at the 'art studio' (aka the holding pen) that Gerard rents for her.

Anonymous said...

You see? It's comments like these that make this blog look like a pile of s***. Some of you have left good fact-based opinions here but then these others come on with comments like "LynZ is getting fat and old", "she should throw herself under a bus", etc, etc, and it cancels out all the good stuff.

Anonymous said...

Regarding LynZ's art, I've seen one of her pieces which she posted on her Twitter. I thought it was pretty good, the people looked like they were coming out of the painting.

I really do believe she is trying to make a name for herself as an artist. She may not become the most famous artist in the world, but at least she's trying to do something for herself, something that doesn't include her husband. You can't knock her for that.

Anonymous said...

If she was doing it without her husband's money backing her, I might agree with you.

Anonymous said...

Lyn-Z 'The Artist': not defined by her husband, just funded by him!

Anonymous said...

A woman who stays at home to look after her child is usually funded by her husband. A man who stays at home to look after his child is usually funded by his wife. That's how it works.

If LynZ wanted to financially support herself she would have to re-join her band and tour with them, then I assume some of you would call her a bad mother for leaving her daughter. She simply can't win.

Anonymous said...

Who ever is posting those comments is not one of the regulars here. We already know it's someone trying their best to make us appear gullible. It's not working.

Anonymous said...

Gwen Stefani tours with her kids Lindsey could do that too, the only issue I see is the band she rejoins.

Anonymous said...

She doesn't have to be in a band. She could go get another job if she wants to play artist with her spare money. But then, she wouldn't be able to live off her husband's credit card, would she? What an empowered specimen of womankind she is! I bet she cries herself to sleep each night in her million dollar Beverly Hills home, worried sick with the stress of how she'll put food on bandit's plate each day.

Take away Gerard's money and she'd be nothing. Still playing her unplugged bass in a shitty racist sideshow band and eating instant noodles for dinner. She wouldn't have teenies stalking her 'art' show, or even giving a fuck who she was. But now, with his cash pumped into her 'reinvention', she is apparently some kind of feminist goddess to the fangirls. These are the same people who think rape and abortion jokes are funny, mind you, so I don't know how robust their definition of feminism really is. But Lindsey seems to comply to it.

Anonymous said...

Even though I agree that Lindsey is not role model I do think couples come to their own arrangements and I don't think they are any different. He seems very supportive of her regardless of whether she works or not, is always with her and even though I haven't seen the new clip I believe from what I have read members of MSi are in it. It's really between them how they support each other. I just don't like her shitty band and their lyrics.

From Brian's twitter. I lol'd. Although I lol'd even harder at this one.

It's hard to respect a band whose former manager and tour manager seem to have such animosity towards them. I mean, these are people who probably know them better than anyone else, having spent so much time with them.

I've known they were assholes ever since an old lj friend of mine posted on her journal about how awful they all acted to her and the other people working her venue at PR, but it's pretty bad when even the people who worked for them hate their guts.

Gerard was an ass at PR. My friend and I had VIP passes which let us go backstage and he was walking around looking daggers at anybody who dared get close to him.

Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park actually stopped and talked to us. He told me he liked my jeans (I had drawn designs on one leg with a sharpie) and he said I could probably start a business doing that. :) Of course Gerard didn't notice my jeans because he just looked right through me. :(

What's interesting about the twitter comments is that Worm (Brian and Jeff's friend) has been pretty much ignored and stonewalled by Gerard, despite him not actually being the person who fell out with the band. I remember him tweeting that he wanted to visit Gerard while he was in LA last year visiting Brian, but I guess he was ignored then, too. And he mentioned that Frank had changed his number and not given him his new one.

Looks like that band just like to leave their friends in the past with their previous records. If I were Lindsey, I'd be worried about what my life would be like five years from now.

Well now, I don't know. It could easily be that they have found their niche. I could see this working long-term for all of them.

They're a bunch of douches and they're all on the same wavelength. It'd take a hell of a lot to get any of them to ditch this lifestyle. No one challenges them, no one calls them out on their bad behavior. They can finally all relax into being the gross people they always were.

My guess is, this is where they all want to be and probably always will.

It's just as well, because it's better when they travel in packs. This way the rest of us can see them allcoming. ;D

(Or smell them all, as it were. Heh. Eww.)

I used to have a lot of respect for MCR, especially after I watched LOTMS. I thought they were stand up guys, but then I found out about this blog. I had no clue Gerard had told girls to "fuck themselves" for him. Any man who asks a group of teenage girls to do that deserves to get his ass handed to him. If I had been there I would have thrown my shoe at his stupid head. I also had no idea MSI had toured with them. BTW- whoever wrote Panty Shot should be investigated. If having sex with a five year old is illegal, singing about it should be as well. It's f****** disgusting.

I never went to PR (thank God) but the hickeys and sharpie messages were just embarrassing to look at. Frank telling that woman she should have sat on a hanger made me want to slap him. LynZ trying to be a rock star is just laughable-when I want to see a woman bend over and flash her bits to the world I'll go to a strip joint. And her being a role model? LMFAO!!!! There are so many things, the list just goes on and on. I'm glad this blog exists, I never would have found out these things if I hadn't come here and I would still be going around thinking these guys are awesome. So, thank you VV and all the people who gave me the info. Ignore the people who say this blog is a waste of time. People deserve to know the truth.

I think this record is a mistake for MCR. It might score big with kids who are into comics and anime right now, but I think later it's going to be viewed as jumping on the electronic pop bandwagon.

I can't see most of the world taking them seriously ever again after watching them run around in the desert in Power Rangers uniforms. I mean, these are grown men, ffs.

Gerard talks about getting freaked out over "getting older" in that Kerrang magazine interview. Well, the sad fact is, he is getting older. He's in his mid-thirties. He's married and he has a kid and a mortgage. That doesn't mean he has to start dressing and acting like a banker, but it does mean that he and his music and he should grow up a little.

This whole Killjoys thing seems like regression. It's Gerard trying to be Peter Pan. He can't keep this shit up forever. He's going to look damn ridiculous running around with a raygun (or whatever other idiotic childish crap he comes up with next) when he's in his forties.

I thought fangirls' thoughts and opinions were irrelevant here.

The ones questioning the songs are the ones who didn't want the band to change and grow. They wanted the old MCR. They wanted the band to stall and become stale.

MCR has surprised a lot of people with this record.

They'll gain more fans than they lose.

They're already getting kudos from people who wouldn't have given them a 2nd listen 4 years ago.

I really don't care what happens with MCR's record. I won't buy it, regardless.

Still, I think it's a bit premature for anyone to say it will be either a huge success or failure. It just hasn't gotten that much press yet.

Like I care?

My favorite musical artist just released an album a couple of months ago and I doubt it even charted. He does tours in tiny little clubs and he knows a lot of his fans by name because they follow him around the country. He makes a living, but barely. There was a time when he first signed with a major label when it looked like he was going to be huge, but he refused to jump through corporate hoops. Now he's on an independent label and he seems much, much happier.

Fame + Success =/= Happiness

Nor does it necessarily mean that something is good. Popularity and mediocrity often go hand-in-hand.

MCR can make a zillion dollars with this record and it won't matter to me.

Uh, clearly you've never heard of a lil band called Kiss. Dressing up & running around like you are younger than you actually are is entirely "rock and roll." It may be ridiculous to some, but it's been the basis or method, for nearly every band out there. (Lady Gaga anyone?) It's part of the industry. You can't really pin that on just MCR alone.

LOL! Kiss, the Rodney Dangerfield of Rock, who has never and will never get any respect. The band that made their fortune selling lunchboxes, make-up kits and dolls to pre-adolescent boys. The band who has an exclusive deal with Walmart to sell their records and merch. The band who gets skipped over year after year by the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame because they're an embarrassment to the people who do the voting. A band you will never, ever hear Gerard mention as one of his influences.

Oh sure, they've made tons of money. Going to see them is an event -- much like going to the circus. But are they respected by anybody in the music? Not so much.

I imagine if Gerard read your comment comparing MCR to Kiss, he'd have an aneurysm. LMFAO.

They probly never heard of Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner or Cher either.

They all dress up & run around stage acting years younger than they are. Why shouldn't they? You're as young as you feel.

Anonymous said...

Lady Gaga is a Kiss fan too.

http://www.spinner.com/2010/08/23/kiss-lady-gaga/

As one of the largest bands in the world for over 30 years, Kiss are certainly no strangers to the kind of fame that Lady Gaga currently enjoys. With that and their outlandish fashion sense in common, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the rockers and the diva hit it off immediately.

Gaga posted two pictures on her Twitter account, one showing her with guitarist Paul Stanley and another of her and the entire band. The pictures were taken backstage after the band's Friday gig at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J., which Gaga attended with her boyfriend, Luc Carl.

On Saturday, Gaga performed in Tacoma, Wash., and spoke of how inspired she was to meet Stanley and company. "You meet so many people [in Hollywood] who are so ungrateful for what they have," she said, according to PopEater. "But Kiss, these guys have been making music for decades and they were ... beyond nice and beyond down to earth, full makeup and everything. They hung out with me and my friends for 30 minutes just shooting the s--- backstage like they don't have anything better to do ... That's gonna be me in 30 years."

Naturally, fans everywhere started speculating about a collaboration between Kiss and Gaga, but it seems that's just wishful thinking. In the meantime, Gaga devotees will have to settle for videos of her rocking out at the Friday show and speaking about it on Saturday. Check them both out below (thanks to ONTD).

I believe that is part of the allure we pay and envy them for, as well as the music they create. Kiss may not be respected by many in the music or entertainment industry, but I can't think of one country that doesn't know who they are, or what they enjoy doing for a living. Lucrative or not. I would think that is also part of the point of being a rock star.

Anonymous said...

My mother took me to see Kiss last year. I'm not a fan of their music and only knew lyrics to one song, but it was one of the best shows I've been to. You'd never know those men were as old as they are. They put on an amazing show and no one can deny they've worked extremely hard to get where they are.

Anonymous said...

Why did Gerard post a picture of himself looking like a Twilight vampire?

Anonymous said...

He wants attention.

Anonymous said...

I think Gene Simmons is very entertaining when he talks about the hundreds (or is it thousands?) of women he has slept with. Oh, and his Reality show was really Rock n Roll. And I look forward every year to listening to his rants when Kiss doesn't get inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Oh, and if Lady Gaga likes somebody, then that means the whole world is supposed to like them, right?

Anonymous said...

David Bowie still dresses up and runs around stage like he did in the Ziggy Stardust days?

Hmm. Last time I saw him, he looked the proper, fashionable English gentleman.

And Cher, really? LMAO. Why don't you bring up those old fossils the Rolling Stones?

Anonymous said...

Madonna still dresses like a teenager too.

Alice Cooper spends most of his time playing golf. He hasn't had a gold or platinum record since 1991.

The Rolling Stones were amazing in their day. But I do agree, they should have hung it up a long time ago.

Naturally, fans everywhere started speculating about a collaboration between Kiss and Gaga, but it seems that's just wishful thinking.

Using them as publicity is one thing. Actually lowering herself to collaborating with them is something else altogether. Gaga knows that, obviously.

about that 2003 mcr video which their merch guy posted on youtube:

I read some of the comments and came across this:

this video and everything about it gives me the most intense nostalgia trip. a lot of it brings back memories, but it feels so recent because some things never change. they act the same way on stage as they do off, and this video proved that for me.

This is one of the bullshit you can find in mcr community:

1- First, the girl who posted that comment is 15, which means she was 8 years old when that video was taken. Seriously, ever heard any rock clubs that allow entrance to a 8 year old girl? plus, she lives in South America!

and its not just her, i can find thousands of comments from girls around that age who claimed that they've been listening to mcr since 2001-2003.

2- they act the same way on stage as they do off
um yeah girl, you clearly has never met mcr.

this is from Jessicka's twitter.

That's a so immature way of talking about these things. She clearly didn't have nothing to do with that but pretend she had.

Well that's clearly a feminist way of thinking. Wishing bad things on other women like that. Only not.

Isn't that one of those girl on girl hate type things that she and Lindsey are supposed to be sooo against?

silvia said...

Yeah I think so. That is so stupid.

You just CAN NOT take these people to hospitals and make them gain weight. Maybe she doesn't know that anorexia is a mental disease, the weight thing is just a consequence.

These people have to be helped, and not phisically.

Anorexic girls will hate you if you force them to eat.

Maybe this has nothing to do with that, but my doctor diagnosed me anorexia.

I don't believe him and I still think I'm fat.

It's not that I want to be like actress or I don't know who. It's just that I stopped to eat because I didn't want to anymore.

I read that when this happens, that person doesn't want to live anymore, and I know this happened to me because I've been suffering a lot.

The sad truth is that this person can be helped only when they personally look for help.

And you can not fuckin help this person with a forced increment of weight.

Silvia,

You really should seek help from a mental heath professional and an eating disorder specialist.

Admitting your problem on a blog full of strangers is brave but can't take the place of professional help.

No matter the good intentions of the people on this blog towards you or anyone with an eating disorder they are neither trained nor qualified to give you the help, guidance and support that you need.

Please see a professional.

She can't. No more than people who ridicule overeaters and fail to see that many overweight people also have undiagnosed mental, physical and emotional problems.

Sylvia, I am sorry to hear what you are going through. I hope you get the help you need.

How could she pretend to know how these people feel about themselves without even... Nevermind.

I think Jessicka was once very overweight, and has struggled to keep her weight at a healthy level. I think that was where she was coming from with her comment.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, typo, I meant Silvia.

silvia said...

Thank you, anon.
But at the moment I don't want to do it.

It has to be something I really want, and I personally don't want to be helped and gain weight.

I remember a year ago when I started to lose weight, I thought I didn't like to feel my bones, to see myself so skinny.
But now it's not like a year ago.

Now I want to lose weight again, it makes me feel I can control something.
Last week I found out I gained 4 kilos and I went crazy.

Now I lost them 4 all and I think I'd like to lose more weight.
But seeing my best friend suffering for me, makes me have the same weight.

Eeven if as I said before it's a mental disease.

I still see myself fat. I can't do anything but think so.

And anyway it doesn't matter, I'm not anorexic. Just fat. Just want to lose weight. I don't fucking know. I just feel I don't want to eat.

Anonymous said...

Silvia, humans are complex. Sometimes the way we cope with things, even though we don't understand or realize it, is through eating: the one thing we can control.

I would give you a big hug through this blog. The other anon gave good advice, even though that part of you doesn't want help you need to talk to someone, even if it's just about how you are feeling.

silvia said...

Don't worry, there aren't any problems.

But now that you know what this doctor said, you'll probably agree with him. So PLEASE try to be sincere anyway please.
I know I'm fat.

He analyzed my body and found out that my bones are really big, bigger than my mother who weights more than me. So my body is not exactly slim. And this is not an excuse, if my body had "normal" bones I'd probably weigh less than I do now.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience but I live in Italy and here we have metres and kilos, so I'm 1.70 metres x 54 kilos.

Two years ago I weighed almost 68 kilos.

Anonymous said...

68 kilos on 170 cm frame is not fat.

silvia said...

Thank you 1:48. Really thank you.

I was so angry that I wrote all those things about myself without even thinking about it so I'm sorry. As I said before, I usually really don't talk about myself because of my fear of being rejected.

I think weight has probably became for me a way to be accepted.

If I wasn't talking about myself, I would have thought that this is a ridicolous thing and that being accepted is something different.

But it's me. And I think that I am fat, and I feel just... I don't know. I don't want people to know about myself. I don't want people to know these things because I told them I am anorexic. I'd like them to pay attention to me because I'm phisically disappearing.

Or, well, I'd like to. Because I'm fat but I'm trying to lose weight.

I'm sorry. I don't tell people these things. I'm still wondering how I wrote all these personal things... I'm really sorry no one is forced to read.

1:48 said...

Silvia you are not fat, you are far from it, though I understand you cannot see yourself that way at the moment. I would like you to know something else: that your feelings are never ridiculous, even though they may not make sense to you. *Hugs*

silvia said...

Sometimes I feel kinda afraid.
A part of me realizes what it's happening and tries to do what my best friend tells me.
But when I look at myself in the mirror, the other part tells me I'm fat and I have to lose weight.

Sometimes I'm afraid the first part will die.

A very strange thing is that when I try to think of my body, I always think of it as it was 2 years ago.
So when I look at myself now I found myself skinnier, but not enough anyway.
