".... I've become hateful towards all humans in general....."

Maybe I should have titled this "douchebag disease is contagious"....

Bob Bryer used his Twitter account to write the word "c--t" for all his fans and call it "art" and then, apparently according to someone at the NIN news site, he made a dick move in basically stealing his friend's idea and votes for making money for an animal shelter. Yes an animal shelter got money but he screwed over someone else to do it.

Feel free to pick up the conversations you left off on the other post.....

Now they are trying to be like other bands and trying to shed their image and now they are not the band i once liked.

And the really sad thing is that they aren't going to get any respect from the kind of audience they're going for. They'll always be that emo band that gets bottled at festivals.

All they've succeeded in is running off fans who used to believe in them.

They're the stupid ones.

It would probably only incite them and make it worse. Education and understanding is the answer to prejudices, not self-identified straight men pretending to be gay.

That only makes a mockery of it and reinforces stereotypes.

Absolutely. And a buffoon like Jimmy Pisspot isn't going to erase prejudices by "calling people's attention to them" like some idiotic MSI fans want to claim.

How stupid do they really think we are?

I was just on Buzznet ( I know, I should really stop torturing myself) and some chic expressed her thoughts about disliking MCR and one one the comments was "You deserve to be slapped across the face with a dildo." Ummm... just because someone thinks differently than you, doesn't mean they need to be beaten with sex toys. I admit, the person who wrote it did have me rolling my eyes a bit, but you'd think with a fanbase that prides themselves on being open minded, they would respect people who didn't have the same views as them. Thye're all fucking hypocrites.

Anonymous said...

"You deserve to be slapped across the face with a dildo."

What happened to "violence is never the answer"?

Oh wait. That was before Gerard threw Frank around like a ragdoll onstage at PR.

Anonymous said...

Thye're all fucking hypocrites.

I must admit, when Gerard has said in the past things like, "We have the smartest fans, they get it, blah blah blah."
I have been shaking my head and thinking "Nope you are deluded Mr Way! Maybe in the past, but not now. The smart ones have pretty much jumped ship, and the ones left behind are the fan sheep that would follow G Way and now the Mrs to the end of the world. Really sad actually.

Oh and I think he knows it too.

msi are full of rubbish. they delude themselves that they are some renegades in the music industry yet they are still following their rules. they are far from original or innovative, and have a loud, pissed off vocalist.

Gerard is so deluded. I think his mental disorder is even worse than I thought. His megalomania is almost scaring the shit out of me.

I've been on this blog for quite awhile now. almost a year. hate to sound cliche but it was so much better back then.
I do think from time to time it's pointless and pathetic to spend so much time on a blog based on complaining about a few select people, but I kept coming here because mcr meant so much to me and seeing their morals fall apart was so disheartening.
but truth be told I think this blog has run its course. like you said it's only a matter of months until mcr are through and Gerard and the rest of them fade away into even more obscurity then they already are. so why keep beating a dead horse? most of the comments for a good while now have been nothing but nit picking and over exaggerations. yeah that video of him backbending was lame. nothing much more to be said. and yeah msi aren't original, but I have to say they're a lot less cliche then a lot of other bands out there.
I know that when you have a firm opinion or something you only see things that support your view and find it very hard to see anything else. believe me I know how that goes. but focusing on the negative alone is just narrow minded.
I've seen a lot of people here keep on saying they should move on from this. well . . . why don't they? that's exactly what I'm doing. like someone said the same issues just keep repeating themselves. it's just gotten too redundant for me.

Anonymous said...

4:14,

Not everybody has been coming to this blog for a year. I think you can see from the increase in the number of comments that a lot of new people have come along in recent months.

Also, other people have gotten over MCR and left.

Maybe we are beating a dead horse, but I don't see why it matters to you.

That's cool. Goodbye, then.

This is exactly the thought that was running through my head as I was walking to work today.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

4.14 you have moved on and that is good for you but why are you pick on the others here.

You have been here for a year so you should know that people come here to get away from people saying the things that you have just said about this place.

And what is positive about a band that used to speak out against ism now running around with a band that likes to use the ism to make money and shock people.

Why don't we move on maybe it's because we like some of the people here and want to see what they will say. Maybe some people are hoping for MCR to regain their sanity and go back to being the old bad they were. Or it isn't their time to move on yet. Each person is different and will move on when they are good and ready no sooner no later. And I really don't think you have any right to question anyone about moving on.

Everything in this world is redundant. Go to the MCr sites you will see that it is also the same thing over and over again. That is life a series of moments that repeat themselves every second just with different players.

As far as msi being less cliched than other bands, I will have to say you are wrong on that one. Not just because I don't like them but because they are nothing but every silly cliche out there. That it is hard to even begin a list.

I am sorry but I can't help but feel from some of the things you say that you are just someone who wants the blog to shut down. I can't see how anyone who spent time at this blog would try to insult the people here.

You don't like everything that gets said here you don't have to join in and you can even try and change the subject if you like.

Anonymous said...

Every forum linked to MCR has run its course at this point.

Its been so long since they have put anything out that people have run out of stuff to talk about, so topics are beginning to repeat, or are just dead. Even the people you used to see most often on the MCR and Gerard Way forums at BN are long gone.

Hi, Martha, RW, Cupcake and other anons!

I'm ready to beat the dead horse too. Let's do it!

Anonymous said...

I was just wondering, if the band records a non-concept punk album, does this mean they're going to give up the make-up and costumes, etc.? Because I read an interview where Gerard said he felt sorry for bands who just went onstage and played in t-shirts and jeans, or something like that. Does anybody else remember that interview?

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I think instead of calling it beating a dead horse we should call it beating an emo pinata

Martha Smith-Jones said...

Anon I don't know that interview. But it sounds like something he would say. Which is sad because once he didn't have the money to wear anything but t shirts and jeans on stage.

And most of the bands that were opening for them both times I saw them had t shirts and jeans on.

Not everyone can or wants to run around dress like a little school girl or looking like a marching band.

I loved The Black Parade - the album, the concept, the look. I'm pissed that Gerard had to do everything he could to kill it in the minds of the fans, rather than just walk away from it if he was tired of it & wanted to go in a new direction.

Haha RW but you don't put others down when they don't want to wear that.

It seems to me that he's always doing that kind of thing, though. He can't just walk away from something, he has to do it in a really big way. He doesn't just burn his bridges, he blows them to smithereens.

Anonymous said...

That's what angers me most about the band. Or Gerard at least. Once he gets to a new stage in his life like more success/money/fame he completely forgets what it was like to be a poor underground nobody.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I have to say i loved all their albums. I even got a coworker into them. This guy only likes raps and he loved MCR. He really loved their songs from bullets.

MCR wasn't a bad band. They just were unfortunate to get labeled emo and get a bunch of brain dead fangirls as fans. Also GW can't get his personal drama out of the band.

I agree with you anon. Buffy sells three times as many copies as TUA and yet TUA seems to have more merch. Maybe its because a lot of the Buffy readers are usually in their twenties and less likely to spend their money on that crap. I think MCR's whole mindset has changed from we love our fans to we deserve money and should milk our fans for everything we can get. They just have no integrity anymore - not just themselves but the work they produce.

Anonymous said...

I agree. Gerard has said before that he has to be in control of the merchandising of his "art", so I don't think the blame rests entirely on Dark Horse.

I think Gerard has gotten a taste of money now and he's decided that making more of it is more important than the so-called "values" he used to preach about.

Hello everybody! How are you doing?

Actually, I'm not surprised anymore about bands selling the most ridiculous stuff to earn money.
I went to Slayer's website before Christmas and took a look at their merch and they're selling romper suits and Christmas tree balls. Wtf?
I think besides touring it is the only way for bands to make money nowadays.
I'm only waiting for the day when bands will appear in infomercials to sell their shit.
The thing is that nobody would call MCR out on it if they and Gerard in particular hadn't mentioned quite a few times that they don't want to become that kind of band.

I love mocking MCR endlessly for their lies and hypocrisy. It has become one of my favorite hobbies! And that's why I'm here! I think for all of us it is very clear that they don't want to be associated anymore with their old idealistic selves and that the good old times are O-V-E-R but I don't think that this blog is useless.

Although I was quite sceptical at first when people claimed that MCR or their moles are reading the comments here, I am now of the opininon that they have knowledge of this blog. It is even good to know that the fansheep are reading our posts and almost pass out because of the 'blasphemy' that's happening here, hahaha!
Also, it can only be a good thing that those imbeciles from MCR know that, apart from all those ass-kissers and their fascist messageboards, there is a blog on which people speak their mind about them and their fuckery without being forced to either fuck off or to follow suit.

A place like this is really needed. Not only for us who sussed MCR's lies a long time ago but also for all the new people who find their way to this blog and finally realized what assholes they are.
For you, it seems, the blog helped you to get some closure and therefore you were able to move on. That's great! But not everyone here is looking for that. As I mentioned before, some of us are only here to rant and to mock MCR and MSI because it is fun.
So this blog has a different purpose for everyone.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Warner Bros is considering ways to slash its budget by 10 percent, saving tens of millions of dollars via layoffs or other steps, as the studio nearsan expected settlement of a dispute with a rival house over its upcoming "Watchmen" film.

( lets cut to the chase )

Warner Bros produced the movie based on a 1980s comic book series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons about superheroes operating under the specter of nuclear annihilation

But Fox, which acquired the rights to the "Watchmen" story in 1986, claims it has a continuing stake in the film, and U.S. District Judge Gary Feess last month ruled that the studio owned "at the very least, a distribution right" in the film.
Because of the settlement talks, Feess -- presiding over the copyright dispute -- delayed a decision on Friday on whether or not to move up a January 20 hearing.
Warner's filmed entertainment group's revenue in the third quarter, which ended in September, fell 9 percent to $2.88 billion. The expected cost cuts at the studio falls in line with similar actions at various other entertainment companies.

The film studio, which produced the hit "The Dark Knight," cut production last year and streamlined its operations by eliminating various units like Warner Independent and absorbing New Line Cinema.

Exactly. I'm quite sure most of the people here are realistic and are aware that the music industry is full of bullshit. Things are exaggerated, like everywhere else.

Only problem is that a certain individual insisted he wasn't going to abide by these crappy rules. Turns out he's the type that changes like the wind. People don't like being duped.

Spaceboy and the joke of a wife can live their rockstar L.A. lifestyle to their hearts content. No one is really going to bother them except crazy fangirls. It not going to stop people posting their opinions about this subject either.

I think that John Melloncamp made the whole traveling family thing work. Although he did name his boys Hud and Speck, which I was all aghast at, at the time. I guess maybe I should have more of an opinion on the Gerard Lindsey thing, but most days, I just don't care so much. I thank MCR for enriching my life beyond what I thought possible, what with the internet and stuffs, but I think it may have been an inadvertent thing, ya know? I got into the whole Black Parade thing through my daughter, found the supposed Gee Way blog, and things went from there. Met some really nice people, made some friends, like for real think I will know them the rest of my life friends. And I know this is probably the wrong blog to put this stuff on, but really, this is what SOME people think of when they think of MCR. And no, I'm not a fansheep, or fangirl, or whatever. I just never looked so much at a band to save my life, although in retrospect, they actually did an itty bit. And seeing some of the behavior that I question since then? Yeah, just makes me realize that they are human too. Hell, I was gonna save the world when I was young too. I kinda got over wanting to, it's just too big a burden. BUT, I'm not degrading the purpose of this blog or questioning anyone's right to express their displeasure, I still like reading all the opinions, and every once in awhile, someone makes a joke that makes me LOL.

In fact, I wish I'd never heard of them. I want that time back. And I'd really like to stop raging at Gerard, but I'm still shocked/angry/hurt by what's gone down over the past year and a half or so, and until I get past that I need to vent or it just makes me feel worse.

resurrected wreck said...

I wish he hadn't made himself out to be something he wasn't. I'm more disappointed than anything else.

Anonymous said...

I agree with RW. More than anything, I'm just disappointed.

I too have met a lot of great people through MCR, not on Mayo's but on LJ. Having been one of the early followers of the band, I was around back when the people were really into the music and not because "Gee is hot" or any of that bullshit. I'm an American, but I have made friends in the UK, Finland, Australia, Germany, Brazil and other countries as well as other states in the US because of MCR. Like me, nearly all of them have moved on.

None of my friends nor myself were of the "MCR saved my life" mentality, but we all did think the band was something special, not only because of the music, but because of the values they claimed to represent. None of us held them up to be anything other than human; we just thought they were good guys. Now we don't, and it's hard to continue to listen to the music when you feel the people making it have consciously duped you.

I don't think the band members in MCR "changed" or outgrew their ideals so much as they were pretending in the beginning to be something they were not, and I don't like fakes. Had they just come out there and made music like other bands, I probably wouldn't care about what kind of people they are. I didn't project any kind of image onto them. They were the ones who told me that they were "different" and I fell for it.

So, while I am grateful for the friendships that I made through this band, I can't support them nor listen to the music anymore. I don't have any delusions that they give a fuck what I think or that they'll ever become the people I once thought they were. It just makes me feel better to come here and express my disappointment.

January 15th, 2009 at 08:43amThat isn't my main beef. It's all the 'They'll be amazing parents' etc that really gets to me. I mean, How do you know? No one here knows them. Not one of you. So how can you say they will be the best parents ever. Before someone jumps down my throat, that is not a criticism of Gerard, I don't think he's fat/lame/retarded/whatever.*

Also, people are so excited about this baby, not just a passing 'oh that's nice', it's more like 'oh my god this baby is going to be the second coming!'. Of course it's fine to be happy for them but 22 pages about their parenting skills and trying to spot baby bumps is not normal. That's what's annoying me.

Perhaps I'm wrong but i expected more from MCR fans.

LOL! Even the mod at INO is sick of all the worshipping.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps I'm wrong but i expected more from MCR fans.

From the OLD MCR fans, but not these new one who are all about Gerard being HaWt!!!!

Even the mod at INO is sick of all the worshipping.

To be fair, it would piss me off too. They aren't Gods no matter how the kiddies see them and no matter how MCR USED to think they were above beinf typical rockstars.

If I had to read that everyday like Talula, I'd go mental too. And she right, one knows that they're going to be good parents (to be honest their past behaviour suggests not) and the baby is not going to be the second coming or the most beautiful baby ever.

Anonymous said...

As much as I dislike Lindsey, I can't imagine having a bunch of teenagers clamoring to get a peek at my "baby bump". How ridiculous, stalkerish, privacy-invading and borderline insane is that?

And I agree, 7:20. Nobody knows anything about what kind of parents either Gerard or Lindsey will be and no one can predict what the baby will look like.

I can't imagine having to scroll through post after post of how "stunning" this baby is going to be. Poor Tallulah.

I think that John Melloncamp made the whole traveling family thing work.

This may be true, but John Mellencamp doesn't tour as much as MCR and MSI and he probably does so under much better conditions. Also, if I remember correctly, his wife was a model who retired temporarily to take care of the children while they were small.

That's not to say it's impossible for Gerard and Lindsey, but I don't really think you can compare them with John Mellencamp.

Anonymous said...

From the MSI post on ONTD:

"whenever i think of this band, i think of the sweaty, disgusting little shits that frequent their live shows."

"Ugh, I've given up on seeing them live now because of the absolute fuckwits who frequent their shows. It's mainly brain dead morons who take the lyrics literally, skanky girls off their tits on coke and (for the last year or so) irritating little emo kids who find it necessary to scream incessantly."

"yeah, this. it's so nasty and it honestly makes me feel so dirty, as if i'll need 389204 showers to wash off both the filth and the shame."

Sounds like a great environment to be raising a kid, doesn't it?

Anonymous said...

Yes, every child should sleep to the sound of screaming.

From BN:

ididitmyway: 01/11/2009 10:49 AM

I am on here as a very concerned parent.a few months ago my 16 yr old daughter made friends on this site.one of them was "richimcrmy" who is a regular on here.she claimed to have obtained Gerard's email address and although my daughter was suspicious she convinced her to contact this so called Gerard.after a lot of doubts my daughter started to believe that maybe she was talking to Gerard.anyway over the next lot of weeks this person had her hooked.if my daughter said she didnt want to talk anymore they would threaten suicide and were trying to convince her to take her own life.the so called Gerard claimed all sorts of rubbish and lies that could have been potentially devastating for the real Gerard Way.luckily i found out about this whole scam last night and because of the content of what this person and richi had said the police have been informed and are investigating.so please be warned not to trust people on the net.the pretenders email is the-gee-spot@hotmail.com.thank you for reading.

"the-gee-stop" People amaze me.

Anonymous said...

I wonder what that daughter talked about with fake Gerard?
How stupid can you be to believe something like that? The first thing I would have wanted to see was a picture.
How gullible those fansheeps are! *shakes head*

Anonymous said...

How crazy that "richimcrmy must be to say she had GW's email. All you have to do is look at the mcrmy in her name and that says it all.

Anonymous said...

.the so called Gerard claimed all sorts of rubbish and lies

You sure it wasn't the real Gerard? LOL!

Anonymous said...

I bet the MCRmy had a good laugh reading that poor girls e-mails.
Oh Geeeeeee! Is that really you? I'm so, like, in love with you!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!1

Anonymous said...

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

MCR must be really hard up for cash.

Here, another account opened only today, reminds where we can buy the new Watchmem single.

I guess the VERY limited addition viynl aint selling like they hoped. Why would it? The real fans have left the fanbase.

Oh, and should an employee or a member of MCR be reading this, I feel I must tell you something.

YOU HAVE NO MALE FANS! And even if you did, they wouldn't be 21 years old and wouldn't be on an MCR forums like BN. Dubtown screams FAKE. Sad, but true.

If you're so hard up for cash, why don't you busk in the street.

Better yet, get Lindsey to "bass" dance. I'm sure she'll get loads of money considering she's done nothing but mime and shake her nasty shit onstage for 7 years now. It snagged her a husband afterall. She could inspire the passersby.

Does anyone even have vinyl players anymore?

Some people do, and they claim they like the sound of vinyl. But the he teenies who make up MCR's fanbase? Probably not. Some of the fans on chemicalromance said they're buying it even though they don't have a turntable (WTF?) but I imagine a lot of parents are saying no.

By this shameless publicity stunt, I'd say a lot of parents have said no.

Yes. That, and I resent being taken for a fool. It infuriates me. I'm not blind, and I'm not stupid. Gerard has contradicted himself so often in interviews lately I don't know how anyone can believe anything he says any more.

Gerard's thing-a-ma-boo sold for $1,275.00.

It was really nice of him to write a blog on the MCR site thanking the buyer and the people who bid on it.

uggggghhh, what's next? lindsey's underwear?

why always has to be stuff like those hideous Boots or crappy sketchs? the shocking thing is to see ppl actually buying that crap.
If gerard and lindsey really want to help this girl why not give something better? it's insulting

Hello everybody ,btw!

I don't think this is fair, I know it is for a good cause but originally there were five MSI Rare Self Titled cds on e-bay alongside Gerard's and Lynz's artwork being sold. The auction ended and now another load of these 'rare' MSI cds are being listed. If they had been listed originally with the other 5 then the prices would not have got so high for the previous ones as there would have been more available. People only thought there were 5 and so they went for more then they were worth, and now another load appears. I bet JU has a whole box of these so called 'rare' cds under his bed he's been trying to shift for ages.

OMG! The kiddies on buzznet will go wild! I can already hear the them crying and screaming wanting to go see this movie (even if they are only going because MCR are playing the song during the ending credits) I can hear them now......OMG this is the best movie ever! I luv these guys sooo much. They have saved my life!

Anonymous said...

The kiddies on BN will probably have to get their parents to take them to see Watchmen. It's rated R after all.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I don't think the fangirls will be much of a problem. Like you said the movie is rated R. Also if they start acting crazy people will complain and get their little asses kicked out. I doubt they will get there in time to see the movie with all the watchmen fans really wanting to see it.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand what there is to be crazy about; it's only a song at the end of the movie, they're not acting in it.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I don't either but they are fangirls who think the world revolves around MCR.

Hmm I can see some 13 year old girl, stuffing her bra full of cotton, wearing high heels, printing out a fake I.D claiming she's 19 just to watch the movie. I so look forward to that.

I see them dress in a school girl outfit with pigtails. When the guard won't let them in they will bend back and show their underwear.

Somehow Martha, I don't think they would be that ridiculous out in public.

I just thought they would most likely roll up wearing their MCR merch, seeing that the movie has really nothing to do with her.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

How wrong I was. Those fangirls have an odd logic.

Anonymous said...

Ha! Must be odd logic, cause I'm thinking being in a band doesn't equate anything glorious. It's just a job. Fangirls think it's glamorous.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

It's because all those the fabulous life of so and so shows. They think because you are in a band you have all this money and can spend it on monkey rentals or some other silly thing.

Anonymous said...

I think when you are really young or without much life experience, it just represents a fantasy of an ideal existence.

Money, fame, looks, no real life problems. It's like a form of escape for these girls.

They are most likely very boring. (GW & CO)

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I think that as well that they are boring in rally life. But because of the rally rich musicians it is thought by most that they have a lot of money and spend their time doing what ever they want.

Anonymous said...

Well, they could have some money.

And if they do, I'm sure some of it has been splashed around. Although I do not think monkeys are the best choice.

If they're smart they invest it wisely as their business doesn't really guarantee that long a life span.

As for doing what they want, I think they still have agenda's and things to do as part of their contracts. I do not see it as some free-wheeling existence.

Martha Smith-Jones said...

I think the others have been carefully with their money. But GW seems to want to spend it on thinks.

A while back I heard about him spending a lot of his money on flashy stuff.
